Epilogue
It was a lovely day, the first of all the days of spring. The blossom arrives like cake frosting on the trees in delicious creams and pinks. The winter should still be in force but already spring had pushed it back to moderate temperatures and the kind of gentle breeze you don't notice unless you stop and be present in the moment.
Bethany sat watching her husband with his siblings. She loves the relationship they have. After Jessica had finally come to terms with the fact that she wasn't after Javier, even the both of them started to get along. Her eyes wondered hungrily over Jordan as she sat watching him.
"You know instead of standing there undressing him with your eyes, you could just get out of here right now" Georgia whispered next to her.
"And what would people think about that?" Asked Bethany
"Uh let's see, they'd say there's goes a couple in love that can't wait to ravage each other on their wedding night" her fried replied
"Its not just the sex, its the total man. I can't get enough of him" said Bethany dreamily
"I know! Actually everyone knows given the way you both wouldn't stop kissing until the minister had to start clearing his throat...twice" said Georgia with a mock shudder
Bethany blushed and reached for her champagne. Her eyes still trained on Jordan.
"I'm so happy he's found you. Someone had to save him from Lila. I heard she skipped town recently with a banker" said Georgia rolling her eyes.
"Yeah?" Bethany replied distractedly
"Yup! Apparently he made a big scale on a house and the bank paid him well. He went on vacation and she went with him" Georgia explained
Bethany turned to her friend them burst into laughter drawing attention to her.
"What's so funny?" Asked Georgia curiously
"Nothing, destiny just has a way of making sure when things fall into place all the extra baggage is also erased" said Bethany
Her friend gave her a curious look but didn't respond. Bethany watched Joseph over in the corner. He seem to be having a heated conversation on the phone.
I sure wouldn't want to be the person on the other end of the line.
"I think I've been away from my wife long enough" said Jordan by her ear.
She smiled and turned to face him.
"I missed you" she confessed
"I missed you" he said pulling her out of her seat.
"I need another drink" said Georgia as she got up and walked away leaving them to chuckle at her hasty retreat.
"Today was so perfect" said Bethany as Jordan lead her out to the dancefloor.
"The day isn't over yet" said Jordan as he twirled her before bringing her close to him.
"That sounds like a Promise Mr. Walters" she replied in a flirty tone.
"You bet you irresistible ass it is" Jordan replied
Bethany looked up at him and went warn all over when she saw the hunger and promise in his eyes.
The wedding day had turned out to be perfect. The winter had been replaced with spring and their new house had turned out to be the perfect location to host their big day.
Even though Bethany didn't have much friends and even though only her aunt and two of her cousin had turned up for her bug day, it didn't take away from the happiness she was feeling. The day was just right.
She watched as Joseph stormed from the room, his eyes blazing with anger.
"What's up with Joseph?" She asked looking up at her husband
"Things aren't going too well in the city for him right now. He's trying to get to root of it and so far he's only come up on dead ends" Jordan replied
"What's in the city?" Asked Bethany
"Sweetheart you didn't marry into a typical ranch family. Theirs more to us than meets the publics eye" said Joseph
"Do I want to know?" She asked
"Hmm, it wouldn't hurt knowing but we'll leave that for another day" he replied
Bethany closed her eyes and lost herself in the music as they waltzed around the dancefloor.
