(Y/n) let out a gasp in surprise when Edward grabbed her hand and pulled her into the air with him, making her slowly starts flying with him as he held her close to him, silently giving her the message that he was there for him.
"Oh my goodness, we're flying."
"Yes, we are."
"We're flying!" (Y/n) giggled excitedly and looked around. The two floated higher and higher in the air until they were flying above the trees. The (h/c) haired gasped when she saw the entire view of the flower field, the forest and their small town which was located just outside of the forest from above and it took her breath away "Look! There's our town!"
"It's almost exactly like I remember," Edward said, a bright smile making its way onto his face which made (Y/n) smile. "Shall we go see them?" she asked, extending out her hand our towards him as she flew ahead a little and looked back at him with a smile. Edward's eyes widened for a second, looking at (Y/n)'s hand and her warm, genuine smile, but he recovered quickly and smiled, taking her hand in his as he held it tight in his hand, "Yeah."
Her smile brightened even more and Edward let her start leading him towards their town with a smile of his own on his face. Laughter filled in the air as the couple joked around, flying through here and there through the town. They passed by the clock tower and soon, they started to reach towards their destination, the (L/n)'s family manor, landing on the small terrace which was just outside of (Y/n)'s room.
The girl reached out towards the knob to enter her room, but gasped as her hand went through it again, reminding her that she can't touch objects while the spell is still active. She let out an embarrassed chuckle and led Edward into her room, going pass through the door together in hand in hand. Once they have stepped into their room, Edward froze and smiled slowly, looking at the familiar room around him. "It's been quite a long time since I was last here. Kinda brings back the good old memories," he said, gently tugging on their intertwined hands as he pulled (Y/n) close to him which she happily obliged and hugged his waist affectionately. "What kind of memories?" she asked with a playful hum and Edward smiled, gently lifting her chin to make her look into his eyes.
"Oh, you know...like when I used to sneak into the mansion just to see you or take you out on a ride at night with Snow," he said and (Y/n) chuckled, a warm fuzzy feeling forming in her chest as she recalled back to those times, "Mm hm, good times indeed."
Just then, she remembered about the marriage proposal from Nicholas and went silent for a while. She was here to say goodbye to everyone and reject Nicholas's request of marriage and she knew she would have to explain properly about her and Edward to her family for quite some time so...she should probably make things clear from the beginning.
"Edward, listen. I don't want to cause any misunderstanding between us so, I will tell you first...remember when I said I have some things to clear up at home?" she asked, looking back into Edward's eyes who sensed that it was something serious and listened carefully, "Yeah, you did. What about it?" (Y/n) took a deep breath and gently took Edward's hands in his, trying to find the right words to say, "Well...one of them also contains rejecting a marriage proposal I received from one of the guests my father invited," she said and Edward's eyes widened for a second as he narrowed his eyes and opened his mouth to say something, but (Y/n) beat him to it, quickly explaining why she planned to do that, "Only because I want to clear things up and introduce the two of us properly as husband and wife."
Edward froze and (Y/n) never looked away from his eyes, letting him know that she was being serious right now. "Ooh, she's honest. I like her," Edward heard the maggot said in his head and quickly shushed him as (Y/n) continued to speak again. "But only if that's okay with you," (Y/n) added and after being silent for a while, Edward sighed softly and smiled, gently rubbing a thumb over her knuckles. "You're right. I think you should do that if we're going to introduce ourselves properly as husband and wife.... And thank you for being honest with me," he said and lifted her hands to his lips, pressing a cold lingering kiss on the back of her hand which made (Y/n) smile. The two stared at each other in silence for a little while with smiles on their faces, before (Y/n) looked away shyly, clearing her throat.
"I-I should probably g-go prepare them for the news then," she stuttered, her cheeks becoming flushed and Edward continued to smile, finding her shy behavior adorable, "Perfect"
"I-I won't be long."
"Mm hm."
"I'll be back soon with our families."
"Okay," Edward agreed again cheerfully and (Y/n) smiled, feeling shy under his gaze.
"Wish me luck?" she asked playfully with her cheeks still flushed and Edward chuckled as he lifted her chin and pressed a quick kiss on the corner of her lips, "Of course, love."
They looked at each other one last time and, (Y/n) slowly let go of Edward's hand, heading towards the door that leads to the hallways. She looked back at Edward who gave her an encouraging and supportive smile and with that, the girl smiled and stepped through the door into the hallways. It was time to meet her family.

(Y/n) lifted herself off the ground and started flying down the hallways, playfully thinking in her mind that the spell wasn't so bad since she can save herself from the pain of walking around in heels. She looked around the unusually quiet mansion. Perhaps it's because it was really late, she couldn't see any servants and Carlotta or their family's butler, Mr. Harson around. She flew towards her father's study and peeked into the room, seeing no one. "Strange, where could they be?" she wondered to herself as she turned around and continued flying towards the stairs. There, she finally found the trace of light peeking out from under the door to the living room and lucky for her, Loen and Lyra came out of the room just as she was flying down the stairs.
"Loen! Lyra!"
The newlywed couple immediately looked up and gasped when they saw (Y/n) standing there in the middle of the staircase, "(Y/n)!"
The (h/c) haired girl smiled and instantly started racing down the stairs on feet since she didn't want to freak out her two favorite people just yet while they did the same, quickly rushing their way towards her. "(Y/n)!" Lyra called happily with relief filling her voice as she pulled the girl into a tight hug, "Where have you been?! We've been looking everywhere for you! Thank goodness you're alright!"
"I know. I know, I am sorry."
"Don't just say sorry! Where in the world did you run off to? Do you have any idea how worried we were?!" Loen scolded with a very worried expression than a mad look, making (Y/n) gave them both an apologetic look as she hugged Lyra back and pulled away. "I know. I know. I will explain everything, I promise. You won't believe what happened to me while I was in the forest," (Y/n) said, looking really happy and both Lyra and Loen shared a look since they haven't seen her this happy for quite a long time. "Well, we're listening and you better have a good explanation for what's going on, (Y/n)," Loen said and (Y/n) smiled nervously, knowing that if there was anyone who she should explain what was going on first, it should be them before she explains to her father and Edward's family.
"Well...it's kind of a long story."
"And we have plenty of time," Loen said, crossing his arms with Lyra nodding in agreement with his words.
"Okay...then, don't freak out, but Edward is back," (Y/n) said with a really happy smile and the two froze, blinking in confusion as they tried to process what she has just said, "What??"
"I said I met Edward."
"O-Okay? How did you meet him? He's umm..." Lyra trailed, trying to find the right words to say and (Y/n) continued for her with a small casual shrug, "Dead, I know."
"So, how did you meet him?" Loen asked, raising a brow as he sensed that his sister wasn't joking for one bit.
"Well...long story for short, I went to the forest, I found Edward there again and I am married!" (Y/n) gleefully explained and both Lyra and Loen's eyes widened with pure shock at her words as both of them yelled out loud at the same time, "WHAT?!!"
"W-Wait. Wait. Hang on. Hold your horses. What do you mean you're married?! And what's this about Edward that you're talking about? He's dead, (Y/n)! There's no way you could have met him," Loen stated, his words stinging (Y/n) right in the chest as she sighed. She was gone for hours and right after she was back, she was announcing that she was married to Edward who was dead.
Who could blame him?
"Look, is this about that Nicholas guy asking for your hand? You could have just said no instead of running off into the woods this late," Loen scolded once again and (Y/n) sighed, shaking her head as she tried to think of the right words to explain her situation.
"No, no, that's not it. True, part of the reason I came back is to reject Nicholas's marriage proposal and Loen, I know it's hard to believe what I'm saying, but I'm telling the truth," she said, looking up into her brother's eyes with a serious gaze as she continued, "Edward's dead, yes, but he's still alive and well, he's kind of umm...a-a corpse, but the point is he still half-alive, we're married and I can prove it. He's in my room and I'd like you all to meet him," She explained, but Loen and Lyra were still having a hard time trying to believe her.
"Did you perhaps fall off of (H/n) and hit your head while you were in the forest?"
"No! I'm perfectly fine, see?" (Y/n) said, holding her hands up as she unintentionally lifted herself in the air, making both Lyra and Loen froze. "What?" (Y/n) asked, unaware that she's made herself fly while the two continued to remain shock.
"Alright...I see you're not joking about this, so..." Loen paused for a moment and took a deep breathe in, going a hand through his hair as he prepared himself for what he was about to hear. "Get yourself back on the ground and start explaining what happened from the beginning," he said, emphasizing on the last three words and only then, (Y/n) realized what she's done as she chuckled nervously and dropped herself back onto the floor, "Ahaha, right...Sorry."
🕸️💙🕸️💀🕸️💙🕸️
Back in (Y/n)'s room, Edward was looking around (Y/n)'s room with a smile as he recalled back to the good old memories of the two of them when he was alive. He walked near her desk and froze when he spotted something unexpected there. It was a portrait of him and (Y/n) together after the two of them just dueled with each other. A warm, fuzzy feeling filled in his chest and he smiled, missing of those times when he was still alive and was with (Y/n) all the time. And even after all these years, she still kept the portrait which told him that she never forgot about him. He reached out to touch the portrait, but stopped when he heard the maggot from inside of his head spoke.
"I don't think they will accept your marriage together, Edward," the maggot said and Edward froze at his words as he slowly retracted his hand back to his side with a heavy sigh. He knew, of course. Surely, Loen and (Y/n)'s father would object about their marriage at first, he was now dead after all. He wouldn't be surprised if even his own family objected as well. They were too different now and he knew it...though he still can't help but denies it all. No matter what people says, he still wishes to be with her.
"I surely hope that's not the case. I love her too much for that and...I want our families to accept us as well," he said and the maggot hummed as he climbed out of Edward's ear and onto his shoulder. "Not many people accept the kind of love you and (Y/n) have here. I might be wrong though," he said but, Edward didn't reply, his mind starting to wander off into his own thoughts as he looked at the portrait of him and (Y/n).
🕸️💙🕸️💀🕸️💙🕸️
Meanwhile, Loen and Lyra were still having quite a hard time trying to sink in (Y/n)'s words, but they listened. They listened about how she needed to go into the woods because she felt overwhelmed, how she said her vows and unexpectedly ended up marrying Edward who was now a corpse, how Edward's death wasn't just an accident and everything else.
After she was done explaining everything to her brother and her sister-in-law, (Y/n) remained silent, observing their reactions. Lyra's expression looked absolutely shocked while Loen's expression remained unreadable which caused her to become a little nervous. "So, you're saying that Edward's in your room now?" Loen asked slowly and she nodded, making him let out a deep sigh. "Okay, then, I suppose Lyra and I should go and see him first before we let anyone else sees. I am sure father won't take this well if he-" Before Loen could finish his sentence, they flinched when they heard another familiar voice calling (Y/n)'s name, "(Y/n)?!"
"...Sees you."
They all turned to see their father, (F/n), looking at them from under the stairs with wide eyes. But that didn't last for long as his eyes immediately narrowed down and (Y/n) gulped, knowing that she was in for a trouble.
(F/n) started stomping his way up the stairs with his eyes narrowed down on (Y/n).
A really, really big trouble.
"Oh, dear."
"(Y/n), where have you been?! Do you have any idea how worried everyone was?!" (F/n) scolded loudly as he climbed up the stairs and (Y/n) bit her lips nervously as she hung her head, starting to feel guilty, "I-I..."
"Father, let's not get too hasty. (Y/n) knows she's wrong and what matters is that she's back safe and sound, yes?" Loen wryly warned, stepping in between their father and (Y/n) while Lyra wrapped an arm around (Y/n), reassuring that it was okay. (F/n) looked at the three of them and his eyes softened for a moment as he let out a deep sigh before he looked back at (Y/n) straight in the eyes with a neutral expression on his face. "Come with me. Loen, Lyra, you two, stay and go tell the Duke that we've found (Y/n) and we'll send her there shortly after," he said started heading towards where his office was without waiting for a reply.
The (h/c) haired girl shared a look with Loen and Lyra who looked quite hesitant before she reluctantly started going after her father in silence, mentally whacking her brain to try and explain everything to him without upsetting him. The walk to her father's office was unbearably silent and much to her dismay, the tension between them was only growing thicker as the seconds passed by. Finally, after what seems like forever, they finally reached to her father's office and stepped into the room, closing the door behind them.
(F/n) sat down at his desk with a heavy sigh and (Y/n) gulped as she nervously stood in front of his desk, anxiously waiting for him to speak first. "Where have you been, (Y/n)?" he finally asked and (Y/n) felt the tension in the room continue to rise as she took a deep breath and carefully answered, trying to ignore the heavy atmosphere in the room, "I-I was in the forest."
"The forest? Don't you know how dangerous it is to go out alone at this hour, (Y/n)? It's very dangerous! Especially when you go into the woods without telling anything to anyone!" he scolded and (Y/n) took in another deep breath, trying to calm her nerves. "I-I wasn't there for long, father. I-I admit that it was wrong of me to go out alone without telling anyone, and...I wasn't alone," she slowly said and (F/n) arched his brow at her words, "Are you saying you have been meeting someone?"
"N-No! It's not like that. I was with someone, but I was with...Edward," (Y/n) explained, nervously looking up to meet her father's eyes who looked at her as if she was mad or something before his eyes softened for a moment along with a sigh, "(Y/n), you know he is-"
"Dead, yes, I know. Oh, but father, I met him. I found him again in the forest and I married him. I was gone for a long time because I was staying at the Land of the Dead with him," (Y/n) explained with a smile faintly making its way onto her face as she thought of the last few hours she spent with Edward which has been absolutely wonderful for her. Meanwhile, (F/n) was looking at her as if she's gone mad, "Land of the dead? Married? (Y/n), what in the world are you talking about? There's no such thing as the land of the dead. I know you still miss Edward, (Y/n), but this is getting out of hand!"
"But, father, I'm telling the truth!"
"No, (Y/n). This ends here now. I'm calling a doctor for you first thing in the morning and after that, you can go meet the Dowager Duchess. She's staying with us until tomorrow and one more thing, you're going to get engaged with Sir Nicholas from now on," (F/n) said and (Y/n)'s eyes widened with shock as she felt her heart dropped at his words.
"What? No...you can't do that!"
"He'll make a find husband for you, (Y/n). That young man adores you as much as Edward had in the past."
"But he's not Edward, father! I do not love him, I love Edward! And I told you I've already gotten married with him. Please, father. I'm telling you the truth and I can prove i-"
"ENOUGH!!" (F/n) cut her off before (Y/n) could finish her sentence, causing her to flinch back in fear.
"You're my daughter, (Y/n). It's time you move on from the past and do what's good for your own future. You'll get married with Nicholas soon and that's the final. I know you will hate me for doing this, but this is for your own good. You'll learn to love Nicholas soon as time passes by," (F/n) said and (Y/n) hung her head in desperation, knowing that she can't argue with him anymore. Tears built up in her eyes and they threatened to fall as she bit down on her lips harshly in frustration and clenched her dress.
She was telling the truth, but why don't they believe her? Why does her father never listen to her no matter how she tries to explain? She was getting really tired of it all. And after the conversation just now, it was clear to her that her father wasn't going to give a blessing with her marriage to Edward who was now dead. But...she wasn't going to give up this easily.
It doesn't matter if she doesn't get their blessings, she was finally reunited with Edward after all these years and just learned what really happened to him while he was coming back to her. Her heart was longing out for him all while they were apart and finally, she felt like she was at home when she was in his arms again. And she wasn't going to let 'anything' or 'anyone' separate her from him again...even if it means she has to leave everything that connects with her here, in the land of the living, and join him in the afterlife.
(F/n) was about to tell her to go to her room, but stopped as (Y/n) started to speak once again. "Forgive me, father, my answer is still no and you can't make me agree to it either. If you do not believe everything I've been saying or give your blessing upon my marriage with Edward, that's fine. However..." she trailed off and looked up to meet his eyes. (F/n) flinched slightly with surprise when he saw the look (Y/n) was giving him, it was the look that she usually makes when she's already made a decision and nothing can change it, not even him. And that happy yet sad smile on her face mysteriously made (F/n) felt a tug at his heartstrings as if something was telling him that this could be the last time he would see her once she walks out of that door.
"Please forgive this ungrateful daughter, father. For I cannot leave him, let alone marry someone else while I still love him so dearly in my heart. So, unfortunately I'm afraid this is how we say goodbye," (Y/n) smiled and looked at her father warmly, through the tears that were starting to well up in her eyes and blur her vision. But if she was going to leave, she wanted to say goodbye to him with a smile before she goes. "Thank you for everything you've done for me so far, father, for your guidance, teachings, advice and your constant love. Please do take care of yourself when I am gone and also, please do tell everyone that I love them and that I will miss them all very much, including you too, father," (Y/n) said and (F/n) flinched with surprise once again when she suddenly lifted the hem of her dress and gave him a curtsy. "I will be taking my leave now so... farewell, father," she said and with that, (Y/n) turned on her heels and raced out of her father's office before he could stop her.
"(Y/n), wait! Come back here!" she heard her father yelled, but she didn't stop, choosing to pick up her pace instead as she continued to run her way down the hallways towards her room. Tears fell from her eyes, but (Y/n) quickly wiped them away, focusing on lifting herself up to fly, but for some reason, she wasn't able to do it. She wasn't able to lift herself off the ground and fly like she did a few moments ago. So, she focused on getting to her room instead as she ran pass the stairs where Raymond happened to have just climbed up the stairs.
Raymond's emerald eyes widened with shock as he watched (Y/n) run before he snapped himself out of his trance and started running after her, "My lady, wait!"
The (h/c) haired girl looked back for a second at the familiar voice and saw Raymond, but she continued to run, not wanting to stop for one second. If she stays here, she'll be separated from Edward once again and she couldn't bare to let that happen again, it'd kill her inside. She took a sharp turn and finally, her room came into the view at the end of the hallway. But unfortunately, Raymond also caught up with her and managed to catch her hand, sharply pulling (Y/n) back to him as the girl let out a startled yelp in surprise, "Ah!"
"My lady, please, wait! Why are you running? Is everything okay? Are you hurt?!" Raymond asked worriedly unaware of the strength he was using on (Y/n) who was panting heavily as she slightly flinched at Raymond's strong grip on her wrist. "S-Sir Raymond, I'm fine. So, please...let go of me," she requested, but Raymond didn't seem to have hear her as his eyes focused on the trails of tears left on her cheek. "Are you perhaps being threatened or taken by someone? I-I can help you," he said, but (Y/n) was having a hard time trying to collect her thoughts. Once again, she felt so overwhelmed that she just needed to get away. She opened her mouth to say something, but the only thing that came out of her mouth was a weak whisper of his name, "Edward."
Thunder crackled in the sky and light flashed through the window as the doors to (Y/n)'s room slammed open, making Raymond flinched in surprise as his grip on (Y/n)'s wrist weakened slightly, "Wha-?!" Raymond opened his mouth to ask what was happening, but his words died in his mouth and his eyes widened with shock when Edward stepped out of the room and immediately looked at where he and (Y/n) were.
And Raymond instantly felt his body went frozen with fear as Edward's eyes immediately narrowed down into a glare once his eyes landed on him, "Y-You...You are-"
