Special! The Strongest Army Ogre Attacks Part One!
A/N: WHAT IS THIS? AN UPDATE?! Yes it is and because I recently watched the movie, I wanted to make Rena appear in this so uh yeah! Dedicated to Akira_Shizumi, and Inky_Studios! Hope you enjoy!
Skipped a few parts but hey, you get the gist. Own episode but it takes place (if you read the book) before chapter (aka episode) 17. Enjoy!
Also, a quick heads up for Akira_Shizumi: There's a bonus at the end of the story which isn't canon to the original plot. But you ship it so yup!
(Separating it into two parts because it's long af---)
====================================
After meeting with the National Youth Soccer team, I took a bus so I can at least get some free food at RaiRaiKen. Kuroi had texted that there was still an extra seat and they hadn't eaten much so I can get some noodles.
The bus takes a stop near the general hospital, so I get off and walk from there. While walking I see someone who was probably around my age, surrounded by students from Ryuugu Middle School. Normally it wasn't my business, but seeing as the students had weapons I had to do something.
"Stop right there!" With the bag still in my hands, I quickly ran to where the person was. They faced me, and I could see clearly what their weapons were: Two metal pipes and three wooden baseball bats. "Huh?! You again?!" One of them (probably the leader) looks at me with disgust. I gulped, seeing as that this was a horrible idea. "I don't know what you meant by 'you again', but you can't just hurt someone because your club got disbanded." I say coldly.
That must've gotten the leader even angrier. "You pimp! Get her!" He commanded, and he along with his other members ran to me with their weapons raised. 'Crap, this was a bad idea... I hope my summer classes paid off...!' I thought, praying in my head that I wouldn't get hit by the metal pipes.
Before I could even take a step, a soccer ball had hit them in the back of the head, making them fall to the ground unconscious. I blink, not believing the sight in front of me. "Are you OK?" I look at the person now: He had purple eyes and cyan-colored hair that reached his shoulders. He was wearing an outfit that looked oddly like my casual outfit and was staring at me in a way Jirou would when he was worried for me.
"I'm fine, but shouldn't you leave before they wake up?" I ask curiously, seeing as the students were starting to stir. The boy only looks at me before grabbing my hand, and takes off quicker than Kazemaru would. The weirdest thing is that he looked like me if I wanted to run for my life if anything bad happened.
After around fifteen minutes, we both stopped at an alleyway. Looking around, I see that the alleyway led to RaiRaiKen. I see that the boy was panting heavily, and takes a sit on the ground. "Hey," I knelt down and hand him my water jug. He looks at me before taking it and starts drinking. "Thank you, uh..." "Sakuma Rena." I say, smiling a bit. "And you are?"
He stays silent before handing back the jug to me. "Kouji." He stands up, and I only realized that we were the same height. "I should get going."
"Careful, OK?" I say, patting his shoulder. Kouji only smiles at me, gently taking my hand off his shoulder. "I will. Thank you."
We both get out of the alleyway and he runs off in a different direction. Looking at him, he definitely looks like... well, me or Jirou. But also someone else entirely. It definitely wasn't Kuroi or Koujirou for that matter, but I swear...
"Rena! You made it!" I turn to see Kuroi waving at me excitedly. I smile while rolling my eyes at him. "You owe me bus fare, Genda Kuroi." I say to him while I walk towards him.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Time went on pretty quickly. We beat Sengoku, Senbayama, and Kidokawa. Dang, we did pretty good. Soon after we were going to go against Zeus...
Not that I was scared, but seeing what happened to Teikoku, I didn't really want that happening again...
"Renaaa? Your mind's on hold againnn~" I snap back into reality, seeing Kuroi facing me while walking backwards. At the moment I was with Endou and Kidou. Asuka was with us as well but he along with Kino and Ichinose had catching up to do. "Sorry. I was thinking off... well, you know what." I say with a sigh. "Hey, we trained with all we got." Endou puts a hand on my shoulder. "We'll definitely win this!" He encourages.
"Guys!" We turn to see Kazemaru running up to us, panting heavily.
"What's wrong, Kazemaru?" Endou asks worriedly. "Zeus..." Kazemaru takes a short inhale before looking at us. "Zeus lost 36-0!"
"That's impossible!" Endou says in disbelief.
"A team that strong couldn't possibly lose so many points!" Kidou says with the same amount of disbelief as Endou. I had widened eyes, but Kuroi had his fists clenched. "Who won?" He asks, hiding the tone of anger in his voice.
"Ogre Academy." Was Kazemaru's response.
Ogre Academy? We didn't hear any news about a team or school by that name. Did they hide themselves like Zeus did during the entrance ceremony? Wait, I did some advanced research and I never saw a team on the database, much less the school.
"It's not fair!" We look at Kuroi, who kicks an empty can at a nearby post. "We were supposed to beat them! How could this even happen when we didn't even the satisfaction we wanted?!"
"Kuroi, calm down." I look at Endou and the others. "Sorry. Kuroi really wanted to beat Zeus after what happened."
"Genda." Kuroi looks at Kidou with a shocked expression. I could definitely see the form of Kidou's eyes of sternness. "We can't predict what happens on the field, and we certainly don't put our personal emotions on it." Kuroi doesn't say anything after Kidou had talked.
Endou and Kazemaru only look at each other, then back at us. "Say, maybe we should go on our own routes?" Kazemaru suggested.
"Yeah, good idea." Kuroi starts heading off in a different route, hands shoved in his pockets and running off quickly. I was about to go after him when Kidou had held my shoulder. "I know the Genda brothers enough to know that talking won't help the situation." He says to me.
"I don't blame him." Kazemaru says, sighing.
"Maybe he'll feel better in a few days." Endou says to lighten up the mood. I give a smile, but I know Kuroi: He'll probably forget about it soon, but his rage was still going to be inside of him up until match day.
"..." I clear my throat. "We stopped at a 7-11." I gesture to the convenient store next to us, in which Endou scratches the back of his head. "I guess we did. Maybe food will help?" He suggests.
Kazemaru and Kidou sweat drop. "Is food the second thing you think about aside from soccer?" They both ask, giving a deadpanned expression.
"Soccer and food are really important, you know?" Endou chuckles sheepishly and I can't help but chuckle along with him. "I agree with him. Sports and food make a good combination."
"Not you too, Sakuma..." Kazemaru laughs a little.
================Match Day=================
"The Football Frontier Finals! Ogre Academy versus Raimon Jr. High! The fight for number one in Japan will soon begin! Ogre Academy, after scoring a huge number against Zeus Junior High in the semi-finals, is up against Raimon who's caught everyone's attention since the prelims!"
It's the day. It's finally the day. The stadium was packed, the cheers of the audience echoing the place.
Me and Kuroi were on bench, seeing as Kuroi didn't want to be a part of the pep talk and I didn't want him to be alone. He looked gloomy, which was something I would never see from him. "Hey," I place a hand on his shoulder. He looks at me curiously, as if he was confused to what I just did. I sigh. "It'll be better if we beat these guys instead of Zeus. Look on the bright side, maybe those people hated Zeus and wanted to give them a taste of their own medicine." I joked, and he laughs a little. "Sorry." He says to me, chuckling.
Before anything else could happen, I see that the sky had turned into a dark grey. I assumed that it was going to rain but the clouds up in the air were shaped like a spiral. "What's---" I turn over to Kuroi, and he was shaking.
Shaking as if he was facing something he didn't want to face.
Thunder was heard, followed by a loud and eerie roar. In just a few seconds the stadium changed completely. I didn't see the normal scoreboard and just saw floating triangular boards that were on each side above the stadium. On two sides of the field, there were giant red-colored monsters with equally giant green-colored eyes. On the opposite side of the field, there were players who were wearing dark-green uniforms.
I'm assuming that's Ogre Academy.
Endou and the others line up while I gently pat Kuroi's back. He was still shaking. Kuroi told about his past but he never mentioned anything else. "Hey, calm down. The match is about to start." I say to him. Kuroi only nods at me, looking at the field.
Everyone was already in position and somehow Ogre Academy were already in their soccer uniforms. I gulped.
I'm starting to feel fear again.
Our kickoff. The whistle blew. Someoka kicks the ball to Shuuya and they run up along with Ichinose, Matsuno, Kidou, and Kazemaru with Kabeyama and Asuka going up ahead to strengthen the defense. When Someoka and Shuuya pass the players, they didn't move an inch. Someoka passes to Ichinose, then to Kidou.
When Kidou kicks the ball to Someoka, one of the defenders had quickly moved from his position and stole the ball from Someoka before it could even reach it to him. That defender then kicked it to one of the forwards and Kazemaru instantly stole the ball.
Wait, how did the players move back into their positions so quickly? Even a skilled soccer player (like Fideo Aldena) can't move that fast.
Kazemaru kicks the ball to Shuuya, but a player that Handa blocked quickly cuts it off. I was sweating now. The rest of the game was like that up until the end of the first half. Now I know that something was going on and I was pretty sure that this would affect the team.
It was Someoka who sits down first. You could feel the frustration seeping out of him. "Why the heck aren't those guys doing anything to attack?"
"It feels really off." Asuka says while giving a suspicious glance at Ogre Academy's side.
"Yeah, it makes me boil up inside here." Someoka gestures to his chest. "All because of Ogre's attitude!" Again, the frustration was seeping out of him like it was a deadly aura. During the match between Meito, we didn't really have much of a problem with them acting strange. But this?
"But you had plenty of chances to make shoots!" Shourinji complains.
"Yeah! How come you didn't go for the goal?" Shishido asks, sounding frustrated.
"They couldn't." Kuroi answers. We look at him. "Yeah, they had the chances to shoot, but the opposing team wouldn't let them get the passes. Someoka and Gouenji were cut off, not being able to finish a simple kick."
There was silence for a minute, and it wasn't the silence I would hope for. Matsuno breaks it by throwing his water bottle on the ground in anger. "In that case, let's do our worst to get you guys up there!"
"But then you'll---" I didn't hear much as I glanced at Kuroi: He wasn't shaking but his face was showing numbness. I clenched my fists. It's either they're making fun of us or they're trying to put us off.
Both ways are frustrating, and I hope this turns out good...
