Episode 87: Angels and Demons
A/N: Yeah instead of Kidou getting all worried about Haruna, let's make Jirou all worried about Rena! Also, instead of Mark Kruger, I let Matthew be his companion instead. Sorry Dylan xD. And since I'm a little lazy, I am skipping some parts and the part where Endou fights Sein. Sorry if you wanted to see that.
And here it is! Also, some facts of this legend are from my own point of view, and I have a surprise after 1 chapter for NaruBlaze 😏😏😏.

"This is an old tale from Liocott Island."
All of us were gathered back in the room. I was sitting next to Rika with Rushe on my lap while Kouji was sitting next to Natsumi. (books were placed on the chair so he could see). "In ancient times, Liocott Island was told to be the place where the heavens and hell intersected." Natsumi reads from her laptop (which was, again, connected to the TV). "The people of heaven and hell fought a long war over each other for domination, but they were unable to come to a resolution." "In order to stop the war, they decided to use soccer!" Kouji continues. "Heaven won against hell, and the evil. scary demon lord of hell was locked up in some old rock!" Soccer between heaven and hell? Pretty weird if you ask me.
"After the demon lord was sealed," Natsumi continued, scrolling through her laptop. "It's been said that the heaven and hell dwellers have been living at Mr. Magneto, which lies at the center of Liocott Island." "I've been there before." Kouji states. "Well, me and my real papa, that is. We'd go on mountain walks during the weekends."
"Pretty big mountain..." Rushe looks up at me and I pat her head.
"I wonder if those heaven and hell people are still here today." Hijikata says.
"It's only a legend." Natsumi says. "But it's been also said that among the youth living at Mt. Magneto since those ancient times, there are some people who can use the power of heaven and hell." Kouji looks at the picture on the laptop. "Papa used to tell me this legend a bunch of times..." He mutters. Natsumi looks at him. "Your father?" She asks.
"Yeah. To be honest, when I reached at the age of three, we moved a lot." He starts. "Our last house was new the mountain." Last house? Oh, right.
"Mysterious powers, huh?" Hiroto looks at the screen.
"It's interesting." Hijikata said. "I have a liking for that kind of subject matter."
"So, about the keys to the legend," Natsumi shows in another picture of two figures wearing the same bracelets we were wearing. "They're exactly the same." Someoka says. "Does mean that the ancient legends were true?" Shirou asks. "We can't say that for sure yet." Natsumi defends. "They could just be replicas." "I doubt it." Kouji mutters under his breath. "You can't take them off, which is the strange part."
Me and Rika look at each other. "But they don't look like keys." Rushe says.
"We don't know how they used them in the first place." Natsumi says, looking at everyone.
"They use the bracelets for a ritual!" Kouji exclaims. "Papa used to tell me that the one who was chosen for heaven, becomes a bride for the demon! And the one who was chosen for hell, becomes a sacrifice!" OK, now that's just ridiculous.
"I don't mind it." Rika says. Touko looks at her in disbelief. "Really?" She asks, Rika looks at her, smiling. "It doesn't hurt to have it, and above all, it's cute!" She exclaims, making Touko sweat drop. "Anyway, I'll probably be able to take it off eventually." "What'll you do if you can't take 'em off?" Jirou asks worriedly.
"If it was made by humans, then you've got to be able to take it off somehow. That's just common sense! Right, Rena?" Rika looks at me and pats my shoulder. "Well, she has a point. Besides, it looks cute anyway." I say, chuckling.
"You guys are so laid-back." Jousuke says.
"But not as laid-back as you, surfer boy." Clara says.
"Well," Haruna stands up. "That'll be it, so it's time for practice! We don't have long until the finals tournament!"
Rika stands up as well. "Now that you've got two goddesses of victory with you, we won't let you off without winning the championship!"
"I see why you're annoyed." Rosa whispers in my ear and I laugh quietly at her.
Now that all of us were out on the field, of course, all of us were giving our all, even though it was practice. Clara must've thought, "The heck, lemme join in", because she joined us in practice as well. Rushe and Kouji were near the goalposts (Rushe on Endou's side and Kouji on Tachimukai's) just in case if any of the balls might go outside of the training area.
It wasn't long until Fideo, Edgar, Teres, Mark and Matthew came to see us. "Mamoru, it seems they have something they want to say to all of you." Fideo says, gesturing to the other four. Whew. Wonder what that could be?
"First off, as England's representative, I'd like to extend our voice to Inazuma Japan for moving on to the finals." Edgar says. OK. Thank you in advance for cheering us on then. "Congratulations." He extends a hand out. "Thanks!" Endou gladly shakes his hand, smiling like an idiot. Soon after Mark remembered about the game they had before we fought with England (and Edgar reminding Endou that he came late to the dinner party, still wearing his keeper uniform), and Teres apologizing for this arrogant attitude. I'm surprised Matthew hasn't said anything yet.
"My turn, I guess." Matthew laughs a little.
"Oh, right. Go ahead." Mark gestures to the rest of us.
Matthew clears his throat before speaking up. "It's amazing how you guys got here so far. At first me and Alfred thought that you guys were kinda low-class, but that sorta changed when we met your friend Rena."
"Yeah... that match after Argentina, you were there!" Rosa exclaims.
"Rena's ability is pretty much rare. No person could do that, let alone a girl." Matthew continues, smiling. "All of you have rare attributes that no one else has, and that's what made you reach this far. But your passion for soccer was the real reason why you made it! From me and Alfred, along with us group A teams, we're hoping for Inazuma Japan and Orpheus' victory!"
"Thanks, Matt." I gave him a high-five, which he returned. "By the way, how did you get in anyway?"
"Soccer match." I said, shrugging.
Endou suggested that we'd have a practice match with them. I let Touko take my place since I wanted to just watch for while. I hate saying it, but I missed sitting on the bench. Plus, I haven't talked with the rest of the girls in a while. It was odd though, since it became cloudy all of a sudden, even though that it was supposed to be sunny.
Anyway, the match started, and just when Fideo was about to reach the penalty line, lightning flashed, followed by loud thunder. Then I noticed... my bracelet...
It was glowing.
"S-So the legend's true!" Kouji panics.
"It can't be," Natsumi says in disbelief. "That was just a legend!"
Lightning struck down at the lamppost, and all we saw was smoke. When the smoke cleared up, I looked up in horror. I saw a boy, probably my age or one year older. He had long, auburn hair and light, forest green eyes, wearing something like a black jumpsuit and boots. He was smirking down at me, and I couldn't move. His gaze averted to a ball and he stopped it. A boy who had maroon colored hair tied into a long braid, teal eyes, and was wearing a white and blue like jumpsuit, carrying an unconscious Rika. "Begone! Wicked beings like you do not belong in this place."
"Don't talk so high and mighty!" The tanned boy says angrily. "You should be the one to scram! The demon lord and Hell Army Z are the ones who will rule this world!" Wait, was Kouji telling the truth?! And I didn't believe him! Now I know how mom and dad feel when I discover something and they never believed it! "How absurd! Only the radiance of the heavens shall control this world. The Messengers of the Sky will cast judgement on you right here and now." The other boy says.
I didn't hear what the rest was because I was in deep thought, but my thoughts were snapped out when the tanned boy grabbed my shoulder roughly.
"Rena!!!"
The boy let go of my shoulder and kicked the ball straight into Jirou's stomach. "Jirou!" I run to him but I was stopped by the boy and he made me look into his eyes. "You've been chosen..."
I felt my eyes go blurry.
"By hell."
That was the last thing I heard before blacking out completely.
