Episode 86: Notebooks & Bracelets
A/N: So... I have not updated this in a few... Days or so. I am so sorry about that.
Anywho, here's the redo of Genda's confession now, and the reveal of "Tantei".

"Rena!"
I heard loud knocks on my door and I opened it angrily. "Don't be that impatient--- Kidou?" I was surprised that he would be bothering me at this time. "Everyone's been waiting for you." Kidou starts. I slept early this time, I swear it! "Why? Did practice start already?" I asked. To my relief, Kidou shook his head. "Another notebook appeared again, along with a letter." He says.
Another notebook...
"Lemme see it." I said, putting on my Inazuma Japan jacket.
The both of us went downstairs, and everyone was waiting for the both of us. Kidou was right; A notebook was on the table, along with a letter. "Mama, looks like these people really wanna help us." Rushe says. "Alright... Let's see the letter first." I said, taking the letter and see what it says;
Heyo, neko!
Can't believe you copied Korra Nenban's (Tantei) moves! Well, some of them anyway. Anywho! Here's some monster moves after all that! Good luck using 'em!
-Kitsune
"That was the shortest letter I've ever seen." I muttered, picking up the notebook and reading its contents. Most of them were monster-like moves. "Some of them are pretty easy." Clara said, looking at the notebook with me. "I like this one!" Kouji jumps and points at a sword like technique named, "Tetssaiga". Hmm.
"Alright you lot," My dad clears his throat. "Let's practice already. Daylight won't be used itself."
"Yosh! Minna, sakka yarouze!" Endou shouts, and everyone responds with a, "Yeah!"
Clara was with me during the practice, along with Jirou and Rushe. Kouji was with Akio and Kidou, and Rosa with the managers. Coach Kudou was talking with my dad and Kiku about something. "Alright, first technique is... huh?" We look at Clara, confused. Kouji walks up to her and looks at the book. His face pales, and looks at Clara. "I know that move." He says.
"Kouji... Is it, Kyoka Suigetsu?" I ask, he nods slowly, shaking a little.
"This kid knows how to do this?" Clara looks at me in disbelief.
"Kouji, how did you do it anyway?" Jirou asks.
Kouji was still shaking, then looks up at me. "You have to make sure you know every inch of the field, and your opponent..." He says. How can that be the key? Kouji didn't even know us when Trina was still with him. "...if you don't know your opponent, just use.... well... full control of their senses..." Rushe goes to him and pats Kouji's back, as if comforting him.
"Well, we're gonna need an opponent to use on this..." Clara says, looking at me and Jirou. Of course, my brother just nods and looks at me. "If anything happens to you..." "Bro, I am perfectly capable of copying this." I wink at him, and he just laughs. "Fine, fine. I trust you." He says, smiling. Once the both of us were in the pitch already, we started. The ball was in Jirou's possession, and my objective is to use Kyoka Suigetsu on him so I can steal it. There was much information in the book so I guess I'm gonna have to figure this out myself. Taking a deep breath... I felt spirits wrap around me. I felt that my eyes were turning white even though they weren't. I saw darkness even though I wasn't dreaming. What was going on here?
"Whoa. You just stole it in... mere seconds."
"Huh?"
I looked at my feet and I saw that the ball was indeed in my possession. I looked behind me and saw Jirou, on the ground, rubbing his head. "Are you OK?" I asked. He stood up and dusted himself. "Yeah... though, that was impressive. It was like I didn't even see you." He says, astonished. "Mama, please don't use that in a match." Kouji says. "That move can hurt you... please don't use it..." He sniffs. I smile at pat his head. "I won't use it, alright? I'm not comfortable hurting anybody." "Yay!" Kouji smiles and hugs me. Man, I am gonna miss this little kid...
"Mama, papa's looking for onii-chan." Rushe tugs on my shirt. "You heard your sister, Kouji. Go to your dad already." "OK!" Kouji smiles as Rushe drags his hand and they both run to Akio. Guess they were happy. Right. I forgot to mention America lost to Argentina, so that meant we're in the finals! I heard we were going up against either Brazil or France. That would be an excuse to see Francis again, considering that he has a brother on the French team. I wish them luck.
After a few hours of copying and studying those techniques (Yuki Kitsune, Tsurara no Yami, Tessaiga) we had our break. Endou and Aki were off to see Asuka off, since Ichinose will have his operation already. I give them my best wishes. Especially to Ichinose. Hope he gets better soon.
Now, I was in the waiting room, borrowing Haruna's laptop. It was only me and Haruna in the room; The rest were still outside or taking a light stroll around town. Kouji and Rushe were under Rosa and Gina's watch. "Contacting someone?" Haruna asks me. "Yeah... I haven't really talk to Koujirou in a while now..." I said. After the confession he made a few weeks ago, I never bothered calling back. Plus, I got kissed by two guys: One that was used to be an enemy, and one that rejected me.
I was on video call. I typed in Koujirou's number and I waited for him to answer. "I'll leave you both alone. I'll go see what your dad's doing." She says before leaving the room and closing the door. I sighed. Was this even right? I think I should just call him after----
"R-Ren?"
Koujirou picked up. He looked like he's been crying for a whole hour. "A-Are you OK? D-Did something happen?" I asked. The tattoos under his eyes were gone, which bothered me; Even when I first met him, the tattoos were under his eyes. And he never calls me Ren. "M-My mom she... she got in an accident." Was all he said.
"I-I'm sorry to hear that..." I said. This was awkward. I don't know how to talk to him anymore.
"Look, Rena I..." He wiped his nose with a tissue paper. "About that phone call... I know it was you who answered." Crap. Well, he did call my number instead of Jirou's. "I... I'm sorry. Ever since we argued... I've been a jerk. When I saw that post with you and that banana brain... I realized... I lost you."
"Koujirou, I can forgive you, but what you said really hurt me." I narrowed my eyes at him lightly, in which he responded with a sigh. "Just hear me out; I love you and I don't want to lose you... you're the only girl that I want to be with until death to us part. Remember that promise back in third grade?"
"...I do." I said. That promise we made was already six years ago: We promised we'd marry each other when we grow older. We made wedding vows at a young age... kinda weird, but I never really cared. "H-How could I even forget that? You're the one that made that promise..."
"I love you, Sakuma Rena." Koujirou confesses, tears welling up in his eyes.
"Koujirou I..." I was taken aback by this kind of thing.
"I-I gotta go... see you."
"Kou, wait---"
He ends the call, leaving me to groan in frustration.

"So... that notebook's gonna help us?" Kouji asks Endou and Fuyuka, tilting his head.
Endou and Fuyuka explained the notebook to us, but we really couldn't picture out what this meant... Strength of the Heart? That's kinda like an episode from a random series or anime. Or a title of it... "Captain, what do you mean by that?" Shirou asks. Endou raises the notebook. "It's not a technique. I've been looking through it, but this notebook doesn't have any ideas for hissatsu techniques written in it." Endou puts the notebook down and opens it, reading the contents. "Even so, among what's written here, there's something that we need to help us get stronger."
Fuyuka sits next to the managers as Endou starts reading. "The source to bring up new hissatsu techniques is the strength of the heart. To come up with new techniques, one must find a new sense of the heart." He looks up at us. "Do you get it?"
"Let's just cut to chase." Clara snatches the notebook from Endou's hands and looks through it, only for her face to pale and hands it back. "Sorry. Go on."
Endou looks back at the notebook and starts reading again. "The heart #1, the heart to never give up no matter what happens. Unrelenting guts."
Underneath my table, I was listing them down on some paper. "The heart #2, the heart to never fear no matter how strong the enemy is. Confronting courage."
I give a small glance at Tachimukai, then back at Endou. "The heart #3, the heart to protect those precious to oneself. Bottomless kindness."
I gave another small glance at Akio for a minute. "The heart #4, the heart to trust one's friends entirely. Absolute faith."
I saw Rosa giving me glance and smiling at me. "The heart #5, the heart to remain steadfast no matter the circumstances. Ice-solid composure."
I saw Clara glancing at Shirou before shrugging. "The heart #6, the heart to see into the hidden truth. Omnipotent mind's eye."
I glance at Kidou. "The heart #7, the heart to forgive others for their mistakes. Forgiving strength."
I give small looks at Shuuya and Someoka. "The heart #8, the heart to understand the joy and sorrow of others. Empathetic tears."
Gina glances at me, smiling like Rosa. "The heart #9, the heart to see what those with great resolve see. Boundless dreams."
I glance at Jirou, who was focusing on Endou. "The heart #10, the heart to believe in one's own strength. Unwavering confidence."
I gave a small glance at Kazemaru and Kabeyama. "The heart #11, the heart to persist even if one hits rock-bottom. Warrior's pride." Endou closes the book. "That's all."
"What the heck was that?" Jousuke asks.
"Sounds complicated." Kabeyama says.
"What do you think?" Coach Kudou looks at Hibiki-san, who ponders a little. "I can say that sounds like Daisuke-san..." He says. "It's confusing..." My dad sighs, then looks at Kiku. "I have to agree... though, it may mean something in the future."
"Find a new sense of the heart..." Endou mutters. "Just what do you mean, Grandpa?"
"Maybe you guys should think about it while practicing." Rosa suggested. "Maybe you'll find something in yourselves by playing soccer!"
"As long as we keep those words in mind, these words will always be within us." Kidou says. Can I say... corny much? I chuckle quietly.
"And by building on that new sense, we'll acquire it." Shirou says.
"I don't get it either, but it's grandpa's notebook." Endou said, placing the notebook above again. "It's always helped us out in the past."
"You got that right." I mutter, smiling. "Pretty sure it'll help this time too."
"Now that's the spirit, Rena!" Endou exclaims. Oops. I thought aloud to myself again. Haha.
"Hehe, mama's all better now!" Kouji says.
"It's true." Kiku looks at everyone. "Rena's been feeling better lately after we removed Akemi from her system."
"No one's gonna harm her, right?" I heard Akio ask.
"Nope. Not anymore." Kiku smiles. "She can finally play without holding back now."
I stand up and bow. "Arigato, Kiku-san."
"It's only my job to help, Rena." Kiku says. "I better take my leave."
"Good luck on finding your brother, Kiku." My dad says worriedly.
Kiku's smile falters. "I'll find him, and I'll make sure I won't lose him. I lost enough already."
Kiku doesn't utter another word after that and leaves. Everyone, including me, were confused. Lost enough? Who did he lose?
*************************************************
"Tessaiga!"
"Maou the Hand!"
The sword-wind like shot broke through Tachimukai's move and it scored it. "You OK, Tachimukai?" I ask. Tachimukai stands up. "I'm fine! That shot was really powerful!" He exclaims. I think Endou rubbed off to much on him. "Good to know that you're OK, Tachi!"
"Butterfly Dream!"
"Endou-senpai!"
The both of us saw Endou, on the ground, and we saw Rika and Touko. While Fuyuka tends to Endou, the rest of us went to the two girls. I haven't thanked Touko for putting me on the team. "I haven't seen you two in so long!" Shirou says. "You could've at least told us you were coming." Jousuke said, crossing his arms. "It wouldn't be a surprise if we did." Rika says, checking her face with a pocket mirror. "Rika wanted it to be a shocking entrance." Touko says. "Yup." Rika places her pocket mirror in a shopping bag. I'm guessing she went shopping. "We're Inazuma Japan's hot-blooded supporters, Urabe Rika!" She pumps her fist while doing a pose. "And Zaizen Touko!" Touko does the same thing.
"We've finally landed on soccer island!" Rika says in admiration.
"Congratulations on making it to the finals!" Touko exclaims.
"I'm guessing you guys wanted to watch us." Clara says, rolling her eyes while smiling.
I notice the bracelet on Rika's wrist. "Say, what's the new accessory?" I ask.
"Oh, this?" Rika shows the bracelet. "I got it for free! Touko's got one too!"
"But I don't have a taste for these kinds of things." Touko says, pulling out a purple bracelet out of her bag. It was similar to Rika's, but it was in shades of purple instead of blue. It looks pretty cool, considering how it shines in the light like that. "How 'bout you, Rena? You can have it if you want."
"Really? Uh, thanks." I say, taking the bracelet from her and placing it on my wrist. "By the way, thanks for letting me in the team."
"Well, you deserved it." Touko pats my back.
"Can I try the bracelet on?" Haruna asks. "Oh, OK." I said, taking off the bracelet, but somehow it won't come off. "That's weird. I can't take it off."
"I can't take it off either!" Rika says, struggling to get the bracelet off her wrist. "That old man, I'll find him and give him a piece of my mind!"
"What the heck makes these 'Keys to the Legend'?!" Touko asks furiously. "They're just a bunch of rejects!"
"Eh? The Liocott Legend?" Kouji asks. "I know that legend!"
"Looks like Kouji has a good mind." Natsumi says.
A legend...? What sort of legend would be connected to this?
