I didn't feel like going out to practice today. After yesterday, I felt like it was my fault that everyone got in this mess. Maybe my second thoughts were right: I should've just kept reading...

"Mama? It's Rushe!"

'Of all times, why now?' I grumbled to myself before standing up and opening the door. Rushe was looking up at me with a sympathetic look on her face. I couldn't blame her, really. My hair was a total mess and I was still in my pajamas even though it was 10 in the morning. "Everyone's waiting for you outside. Papa, everyone else, and onii-chan are waiting." She says. I sighed. "I'm not going, Rushe. After yesterday, I'm packing my bags and going back to Japan, where I should've stayed a long time ago."

"You can't leave!" Rushe says. "Papa and onii-chan will be worried!"

Damn it. Of course Rushe would find out my sweet spot for the two. I groaned, but not loud for Rushe to hear. "Why are they waiting?" I asked. "Honda-san says he's going to explain the curse." She answered. I sighed. "Fine. Tell them I'll be down in a minute." I say to Rushe, and in return she gave me a smile before leaving the room. I dressed in my casual clothes (I wore the jacket for good measure) and went downstairs. Once I opened the door, I was greeted by a sudden hug from Kouji, who looked like he was crying for hours. "Mama! Don't ever cry like that again! Don't leave me like mama and papa did!" He sobbed.

"Listen, I---," I looked at Kiku, who cleared his throat. "We," He gestured to my dad and the rest of the gang. "Are going to help you remove this curse, once and for all." He declared. I glared slightly. It was like all my guilt was replaced with anger. "You should've done that a long time ago." I spat. "Rena, we didn't realize soon enough." My dad started. "Is this the cause of 'that' problem?" He asked. I gave a small nod before glancing at Kouji, who was still sobbing. "We're gonna help ya no matter what, ya hear me?!" Jousuke stands up.

"Yeah." Tobitaka looks at me. "I don't know you, but I'd like too. And I'd like to get to know you once that curse is out."

"All of us are here for you." Jirou comes up from behind me and messes with my hair. "Remember, we're gonna protect each other no matter what."

"You're our friend!" Rosa exclaims. "You helped us, we'll help you!"

"You're not alone in this fight." Kidou starts, earning a nod from Gina. "All of us are gonna get rid of that thing, even if it costs our lives!" Gina says, earning sweat drops from the others, including Kiku and my dad. Kiku sighed deeply. "Sit down on a chair. I'll explain the curse."

"Kouji, you can let go now." I said, stroking his hair. He looked up at me before nodding, and asking me to carry him, in which I did before sitting down next to Toramaru. Kiku sat down next to my dad and the coach (I'm guessing Aki or Haruna already told him about the incident) and began explaining;

"The Alteria Curse is like having another personality," He started, glancing at Shirou, then back at us. "It's not dangerous or threatening, but it will be if you let it control you. Worse case scenario is, you'll end up having an identity crisis... or dead." He finished. I gulped silently. I was glad I did not let my thoughts control me from when I had my problem. "There is a way to make it disappear for good though." Kiku looked at Coach Kudou, who sighed. "You're going to have to see your other self in your mind." Coach Kudou said. "The problem is, you might not be able to handle seeing something that could potentially kill or possess you."

"Can people go in with her?" Jirou asks. "Only three people can go in with her. Kiku's going in and of course, you are." My dad says, then glances at everyone else. It was completely silent until...

"I'll go."

"Endou, what if that thing kills you?!" I asked furiously, and obviously worried.

"Everyone said we were gonna help you, and I'm going to help you." Endou declared at his sentence and stood up. Everyone nodded at this. Kiku looked unsure then agreed. "Alright then. Everyone else, stay out of the room. Only me, Okita, your coach, and the other three can stay here only."

"Mama, will you be alright?" Kouji looks up at me, and I returned a smile. I wish this isn't the last smile I'll be giving. "I will. Take care of papa and Rushe, OK?" I ruffled his hair. He smiled at me before getting off my lap and going to Akio, who looked worried. I sighed. "I'll be fine, Kio. Don't worry."

"How can I not be worried?" He asked. I felt shocked: Was he really this worried for me?

"Stay strong." Rosa hugs me and gives me a pat on the back.

Once everyone gave their good lucks (and an overreacting farewell from Megane, who will receive a punch to the face once this is over) the three of us sat down in front of Kiku. He still looked unsure about this. "Are you... scared?" I asked. "Honestly, yes." He said. "I've never done this with someone as young as you. Usually I deal with people who are older than you and me."

"We'll be fine, Honda-san." Endou reassured.

That line made Kiku smile a little, then sighed before returning his monotone expression. "You lot, close your eyes. Don't open them."

All of us took our deep breaths before closing our eyes. All I heard was some strange language before feeling completely... sleepy and powerless...

(Mind Scape)

"Urgh... where, are we?"

"I dunno. This is your mind..."

"Well, even if this is her mind, she won't know much."

"You got that right, Honda."

Endou, Jirou, Kiku and Rena backed away when they saw a girl who had red eyes like Jirou, long, cyan hair that was tied into a ponytail, and she was wearing the Teikoku soccer uniform. "That's your other self?!" Endou asked in disbelief. "Apparently, it is." Kiku says, taking a step towards it. "Alright, what's your purpose? Why did you make Rena suffer like this?" He asked. Rena's other self shrugged and looked down on the floor. "I dunno... I just appeared seven years ago... I didn't fully analyze the problem at hand, and I assumed that she wanted to be noticed but..." It, or she, sighed. "In truth, I-I didn't even know what was going on with her until this idiot came into her life." She gestured to Endou, who, in disbelief, points at himself. "Me? How did me going into Rena's life---" "Your persistence!" She shouted. "Your love for soccer brought her back! I didn't know all that she needed was reassurance and acceptance..."

"Explain the nightmares then!" Jirou shouts angrily.

"...yeah, that was my fault." Her other self sighed. "I used her fears as some sort of... I dunno. Coping mechanism? I just felt so... useless... Ever since Endou made her realize, I felt like, I'll disappear. And I hate to disappear."

"Then why did you make me suffer?" Rena asked angrily. "I cried for god knows how long when you gave my previous nightmare!" "OK, OK, I'm sorry... If I made you suffer, it'll make you rely on me even more. Turns out I made you go further away from me..."

"Looks like your other self has grown attached to you." Kiku said. "Is that a bad thing?" Jirou asks, looking concerned. Kiku shook his head, but sighed. "It'll be hard for her to get away from Rena." He said, glancing at Rena, who was speechless from what her other self said. "Listen, I want to move on." She started. "I want to play soccer freely, without worrying that my nightmares might become visions and I might kill someone."

"Speaking of dreams," Jirou looks at his sister's other self. "You were a cause of dreams too, right?" He asked. "Well, her first one. The second one, I don't know how a dead person can contact you." She shrugged.

"Look, me." Rena went near her other self and placed a hand on her shoulder, smiling. "I'm sure we both want the same thing: To be happy. All I really wanted was to be accepted, and to be reassured. I got both."

"I'll disappear!" Her other self shouts. "You'll forget about me!"

"I never forget anyone, or anything." Rena says. "I mean, I never forgot the people who helped me up to now."

"...you promise?" Her other self asks. "Pinky?" She holds up her pinky finger.

"Pinky." Rena's pinky finger entwined with her other self's pinky. After three seconds, they let go, and Rena looked at Kiku. "Alright, I'll leave it up to you, Honda."

"You have a name?" Kiku asks, walking towards her.

"Had. Akemi."

"Akemi, once you leave her mind, you won't be able to come back." Kiku says, placing a hand on her forehead.

Rena's other self, Akemi, glances at Endou. "Thanks for putting her in the right direction, Endou Mamoru. Keep it up. You'll win this."

Endou's shocked expression turned into a smile. "No problem, Akemi-san. And thanks for the support."

Akemi glanced at Jirou next. "I had a brother like that, too. He helped me before I ended up here. You've helped your sister to overcome some fears of hers."

"What can I say," Jirou places an arm around Rena. "I love my sister, and we have a code."

Akemi gives Rena one last glance, then smiles. "I hope that you'll be able to beat Trina and her gang, and make that technique you've been wanting to make."

"I will, Akemi. Thanks." Rena smiles.

Kiku looks at this other self in disbelief. He never encountered ones like these before, in fact, not even once in his life. "I'm ready, Honda Kiku."

"In all my life, you're the first one to ever agree to leaving." Kiku admits. "Alright, we'll see you soon."

"Yeah, I'm sure you will." Akemi smiles again.

Kiku smiled a little too before chanting ancient Japanese words. Light began surrounding Akemi, and she disappeared like little bubbles. "Well, do you feel lighter, Rena?" Kiku looks at Rena, smiling. Rena held her chest. "I... actually do." She admitted.

"You're back! For real this time!" Endou hugs, or more like, glomps Rena, earning a glare from Jirou.

"Let's go back and tell them the good news." Kiku says.

"Question: How do we get back?" Endou asks, letting go of Rena.

Kiku sweat drops and laughs a little. "Hold hands, and repeat my words."

The four joined hands, and copied Kiku's dialogue, which was ancient Japanese as well. Tiny, blue lights surrounded them, and they disappeared.

[Bonus: A Regretful Insect (Side Kuro)]

"LUCI! GET OVER HERE!"

"Kuro, if you want-a me to throw this bowl of-a pasta on to your hideous face, think again." Luciano said, glaring at the said man. Kuro only rolled his eyes in annoyance. "You know why I'm calling you, you freakin' Italian." He said, mumbling the last part. "Is it about that Rena girl? I don't know why your interested in her." A male with blonde hair entered the room. "Besides~! You're too old for her anyway."

"Your more of an idiot than Feliciano." Luciano groans.

"How is this man your brother?" Ivan asks.

"Ask my parents about that. AND STOP STEALING MY MEATBALLS, FLAVIO!"

Kuro only groaned in annoyance. Why was he doing this again? Ah, right. To get revenge on Sakuma Okita and his brother, Kiku. It was his fault why Maria died in the first place. Kuro pulled out a picture out of his pocket: A auburn-haired girl, wearing a straw hat, a white shirt, and a colored skirt and bakya, Philippines shoes. Maria Carriedo Bautista was her name. He wondered why a lovely girl like her ended up with his twin brother in the first place.

Then again, he blamed himself. If only he had told her sooner, and maybe stopped the proposal instead of letting out her alter-ego, Marin. Maria died that day, and Marin disappeared in Aokigahara Forest.

"What are you looking at?" Flavio asks and takes a peak. "Hey! Isn't that Maria?"

"Maria? You mean Antonio's dead niece?" Ivan looks at Kuro, who sighs and nods.

"Now I know why you wanted vengeance." Luciano smirks. "You caused her death, but you blamed your brother since Maria was with him first."

"I regret that day." Kuro clenches the picture in his hand, his red eyes glaring at the said Italian, making Luciano alarmed. "But when I end this Inazuma Japan, I won't regret anything at all."

"Me and Luci are going to get the weapon." Ivan says, pushing Luciano out the door. He went out as well, and closed it shut. Flavio looked at Kuro, who was now showing a pang of sadness. He did regret that day. Every. Single. Moment of it.

"When you kill you brother, you won't regret it?"

Kuro only gave a shocked look at Flavio as a response.
