Percy's Regret
Percy stared furiously at the spot where the Olympians and demigods disappeared, "NO! COME BACK HERE!" He screamed.
Earth cracked and shattered around him, water erupted from pipes underground and of the bodies of water around. Percy let out scream of anguish, "DON'T LEAVE ME! PLEASE DON'T LEAVE ME! PLEASE!" His heart hammered in his chest, he was alone again. Ever since Annabeth had passed he has been on his own, wandering through the darkness and terrors of Tartarus. It had changed him, the agony of her death was enough to handle but ever since then he slowly has felt and watched himself grow cold and his heart harden like obsidian. She was the love of his life and loosing her in such a harsh place ripped every ounce of love he had and turned it into crippling fear and agony.
He sunk to his knees and put his hands on the broken earth, memories of the demise haunted his mind. Imagines played out around him, everything has gone wrong that night, it couldn't have gone worse. Drowning in his own wrath and affliction he was unaware of the Olympians and demigods watching the scene play out from a monitor in Olympus. Tears steamed down his face as the wind picked up, slowly a miniature hurricane formed around him, tearing debris into the air and throwing it in all directions. Screaming in rage he stood and brought a monstrous wave out from within the earth, forming a funnel around him. He shot jets of water out in every direction until all of it was gone. Sweat dripped down his face, he had used so much energy, he had hoped it would have made him feel better but the anger and pain still remained. There was a soft tapping sound to his left, slowly turned his head to see the Fates, gently tapping their nettles together. His eyes grew big for a minute then anger flooded his being, "YOU!" He snarled.
They smiled, "Perseus Jackson."
"YOU TOOK HER!" He lunged at them but simply charged right through them. He yelled out of frustration and rounded on them once again.
They chuckled, "You know as well as we do, Mr. Jackson, heroes always come to a tragic end."
"YOU DIDN'T HAVE TO TAKE HER!" He howled, unsheathing Riptide and tried to take off their heads but it passed through them like they were made of water. "GIVE HER BACK TO ME!"
But the Fates merely smiled, "Now Mr. Jackson, we gave you a long life, isn't that all--."
"NO!" He cut in, "NO ITS NOT ALL THAT I WANTED! I WOULD HAVE RATHER DIED WITH HER!"
"Calm down, there is no need to be this angry."
"Excuse me?" Percy glared.
"You are now free to do whatever you want and not bound by some annoying know-it-all. Honestly you should be grateful, the only reason you got out of Tartarus was because of her death. With that ankle of hers..."
Percy fumed, he couldn't believe his ears, "Are you saying that in order for me to live she had to die?"
"Correct! In all reality her death was all your fault. If you would have only let her fall on her own she may have lived or for at least a bit longer."
He felt sick, all of this happened because of him, it was always his fault everything always was his fault. The Fates frowned, "Are you alright there, dearie? You are turning green. Are you poisoned?"
"I might as well be." Percy rasped, even the word 'poisoned' hurt. An image from the Battle of Manhattan unfolded in his mind like a scroll. Annabeth has taken a poisoned knife for him, not even knowing it saved his life until they talked later in the hotel. He had knelt at her side and allowed her to touch his Achilles' Heel. He closed his eyes in attempt to block out the memory, when he opened them the Fates had gone and in their place his mother's body laid. He gasped and ran over to her, there was a note beside her head which read: We took a life so we thought we would give you another.
Percy sighed and looked down at his beaten and tattered mother. He summoned a small steam of water and willed it to cover her body and heal her wounds. After her healing her did the same for himself. Placing it into a dip in the ground, he turned the water to ice for a makeshift mirror. He grunted thinking he looked more like a human than before though his rags for clothes would surely have to be changed. He quickly gathered up his mother and started his search for a place to stay for it was obvious he was not welcome at Olympus.
~~~~~~~AT OLYMPUS~~~~~~
Silence followed the turning off of the monitor and all eyes fell on the Annabeths. Percy (TLO) looked green for a number of reasons, the fact that he saw himself in such pain and anger scared him. Not only because that was his future but because he had just looked scary and devilish. Furthermore, he was almost absolutely sure the person his older counterpart had lost was Annabeth. Arguments over that fact took place around him but inside he knew without a doubt his suspicions were right. The only thing keeping his suspicions suspicions was the small glimmer of hope that it wasn't true. Annabeth (TLO) didn't look too much better and not thinking far off of Percy. She glanced at him, if what the Fates said was true then her death was his fault. She really liked him, he was her best friend and she wanted him to be more than that but now the logical thing to do was to stay away from him and she was sure that her mother would be having the same speech not to long from now. Athena didn't approve of their friendship and definitely the feelings Annabeth harbored for Percy, now this was the perfect excuse to get her to stay away from him. A small voice inside her head screamed that they didn't know the whole story, but still fear gripped her heart.
The five of the Seven just stared at the monitor, almost like statues, nothing anyone could possibly say could make them feel better. Everything was upside down, none of this should be happening. . . but it was, everything was falling apart.
Piper took a deep breath, "W-we can't just leave them out there."
Zeus (TLO) rounded on her, "That thing is not coming to Olympus!"
"That thing is in agony and his mother needs help! We can't just abandon them!"
"Did you see what he did? How powerful he is and how UNBALANCED!"
"So leaving them out there is going to fix that? We need them and Percy is our friend, we can't just abandon them like that!"
Jason bit his lip, "Pips, maybe Zeus is right."
She rounded on him, "Excuse me?"
Jason paled, realizing he stepped into a very dangerous zone, "W-what I mean is--."
"Oh don't even try to change your answer, I know EXACTLY what you meant," She looked from him to Zeus to back at him, "Like father like son I guess." She growled and stormed off.
Hazel and Leo glared at Jason, Leo shook his head, "You can't be serious, are you seriously suggesting we just leave Perce out there? After all of that? After everything?"
Jason sighed, "What I meant was maybe right now is not a good time. After all of that. He obviously isn't stable so maybe give it a bit and let him level out--."
"What he needs is us, not to level out and his mother needs a place too."
"But he is unstable, anything could set him off like that and we would all be in danger!"
Hazel stepped forward, "Okay Jason, look around you, we have five sets of Olympians and Percys and Annabeths and everyone else. I think we can handle our Percy going off like he did."
The Athenas looked at Zeus and said in unison, "She has a very good point, I won't deny that."
Zeus sighed, "Fine, tomorrow we shall go to find him and bring him and his mother to Olympus, BUT if he gets out of hand then he is YOUR problems." He pointed at the three of the Seven excluding Jason. "And that other girl's problem." He said motioning to where Piper had stormed off to.
"Then its official, we go to look for Percy at dawn!" Leo shouted smiling ear to ear.
