Chapter 8: Things Get Worse

Year 2067

Control Tower:

Parker had only spent a few minutes in Control Prison when he was called by a Helper. To Parker, it didn't seem like Control Prison. It was just a small room with a few chairs. What he had thought was that there would be insects which will sting him like crazy. Later on, he was told by the Helper that it was actually The Waiting Room, and the reason he was there was because Mr. contraire wanted to talk to him. The Helper pressed his thumb on the scanner and the doors slid apart.

"He's here, sir!" The Helper cried and whizzed out of the room. The controller's chair turned around slowly. Parker trembled. What was it that the controller wanted to talk to him about? Was he going to be sent to the Control Prison? Or even worse?

Unknown Age:

"So now what?" Artie said. "We're all in trouble, including that poor man."

"Artie, I don't want to start another fight." Matt yawned. "I just want to sleep."

Matt shone the Storage Device's light at the Time Glass, and then whispered "Room". Again the light shone, and in front of them was a little house.

Everybody was sleeping soundly when Davis woke up from a strange noise. He heard that noise again, and understood what it was. Somebody was unzipping the pockets of Matt's jacket. Davis held out his hand and felt Matt's body. Matt was lying beside him. Who was it, then? Terrible thoughts came to his mind. Was it a person from the future who wanted to steal Matt's gadgets?

Year 2067

Control Tower:

"Parker, you told me that your dog and workers have disappeared." The controller said. "We have to do your Thought Scan."

"Why?" Parker asked.

"Your dog and workers disappeared when Matt went back in time from your pizzeria." The controller said. "I think that if we will be able to track your workers, we might know more about Matt. However, we have to know what they look like, and for that a Thought Scan is needed.

And so in a few minutes, Parker was wearing a helmet which had a lot of wires. The machine got all the brain data pretty quick. The pictures of the victims were printed, and tons of posters were made with "WANTED" written on them in bold letters. The victims' photos were also on the poster. Soon, the Helpers had hung the posters all around the city. The controller had ordered them that these posters should be all around the world.

Unknown Age:

The good news is that Davis' prediction about the future guy wasn't right. The bad news is that the truth was a whole lot worse.

"Who are you?" Davis whispered and tried to sound brave, but his voice was a little bit shaky.

"Don't stop me, Davis." That person said. Davis recognized that voice immediately. It was Artie!

"What are you doing?" Davis asked.

"Going back to Year 2067 through Matt's TTM." Artie said. "Ah, here it is."

"Artie, don't!!" Davis cried, but it was too late. The bright light shone, and he vanished.

Year 2067:

Artie glanced around, feeling surprised. There were posters of him and the rest of the team all around. Artie didn't notice the Helper behind him. A moment later, Artie was shot in the leg with a tranquilizer gun and he blacked out.
