Chapter 4: They Call the Winds Wednesday

"Eyes as blue as the azure sky...that is the symbol of The Contractor"

"You're gonna do what!?" Enid asks, shaking Y/N violently her grip tightened around him, and her claws popped out, stabbing into his arms.

"Ow. ow, Enid, CLAWS!" He says and she quickly let him go, stepping back a bit.

"Sorry! Sorry.." She said apologetically. He waves it off. "It's alright, don't worry about it." Y/N moves over a bit and sits down on her bed while Enid just stares at him a mixture of pure excitement and seriousness across her face.

"So, you're really gonna do it? you're really gonna ask Wednesday to the Rav'N." Enid asks and Y/N smiles and nods confidently "I like her Enid, I'm not even gonna try and play it like I don't, whether she feels the same about me...I don't know, but regardless of that I know I'd hate myself if I didn't try." He finishes and Enid smiles hugging him.

"Well, just know I'll be rooting for you and I'm sure she feels the same...In her own Wednesday sort of way." She says and they both chuckle "Thanks, Enid." "Anytime Y/N."

Thumping is heard inside the vents of The Jericho County Morgue as a certain frightening girl makes her way through. Something quickly exits through the ventilation shaft and drops down onto a camera. Thing sticks black Bubblegum all over the Security camera watching the door before dropping down and crawling to said door, opening it and Wednesday sneaks in.

"Dr. Kinbott tells me I should get out more. Says I need to open my mind to new people and experiences. Who am I to argue with her professional clichés?" Wednesday says as she and Thing enter the main room.

"While I do the autopsy, you find the files of the monster's other victims and make copies." She says to thing who taps loudly in refusal.

"Don't pout. Your scalpel skills are questionable. Do you remember my 13th birthday, when Uncle Fester gave me that cadaver? You sliced right through that man's carotid." She says, Thing taps more and Wednesday stops everything.

"Why are you bringing Y/N up all of a sudden? I did not bring him along because we do not need him for this, nor do I require his presence every waking moment." She says, Wednesday locks the door, and Thing gestures.

"I am not indecisive when it comes to him, I know exactly where it is we stand we are professional partners in this investigation and nothing else." She says, Thing goes to make another gesture but immediately leaps out of the way of a scalpel as Wednesday turns to him with a deadly stare.

"Make any more insinuations and you will lose all your fingers."

Thing, instantly knows well enough that she is not joking and heads to make copies, and Wednesday heads to the containers holding the corpses and opens them up completely unfazed by any of it.

"No. No. Magnificent hematoma. There you are." She says, and drags one out, it was the old man that Y/N had transported into the winds with. Dead. Wednesday begins her examination and strange sense of enjoyment as she does so.

"Thursday, 7:23 p.m. The body is that of a 50-year-old male. Lacerations and defensive wounds appear on both hands. What remains of the chest and torso indicates a frenzied attack. Subject has been almost entirely disemboweled. This is curious. The subject's left foot is missing. It appears to have been chewed off at the ankle. " Wednesday says before thing comes rushing in and tapping wildly.

"Have you seen a left foot anywhere? Calm down. Who's coming? She asks, she hears the front door open and looks around for a place to hide, sadly there's no Y/N to reluctantly fly her out of there. So she picks the only place she could. The sheriff enters with an older gentleman.

"Appreciate you coming back to the office, Doc." The sheriff says they enter the morgue

"No problem, Sheriff. Whatever I can do to help. Whatever or whoever is responsible for these killings...In all my years, I've never seen injuries like them. I thought you should see this before I issued my report on the latest victim. It's a real noodle-scratcher. The killer cut off two toes from the victim's left foot. Best guess, they used a surgical saw. The final autopsy report's still pending."

"Minute you're done, send it straight to my desk. Media blackout on the toes."

"Sure thing, Sheriff. Been a busy couple of weeks, huh? At least I'm going out in style. Friday's my last day."

"Happy retirement, Doc."

"Gonna surprise Mrs. Anwar with a four-week cruise. Excited to trade rib shears for Mai Tais. See yourself out. I'll lock up." The doctor says, and the Sheriff leaves, the doctor then notices that the door to one of the corpses was open, he closes it but takes one last glance inside before doing so, finding Wednesday who played the role of a corpse perfectly. Her skin cold to the touch, her eyes unmoving and her body stiff.

"I don't remember this one coming in. Full rigor. You've been dead a while. Guess you won't mind waiting another day for me to cut you open." He says with an uncomfortable smile, he closes the container back up before leaving, letting Thing escape from a skeletal anatomy diagram. He scuddles back over to the door and opens it up to a very much actually alive Wednesday.

"Five more minutes. I was just getting comfortable."

The next morning quickly came and, Wednesday is in her dorm room, pinning up clues and crime scene photos onto a board for the investigation.

"When I suggested giving your side of the room a makeover, I did not have Ted Bundy's Pinterest in mind. Enid said, approaching from behind to take closer look at Wednesday's board of horrors.

"Still not as creepy as your stuffed unicorn collection." Wednesday fires back at Enid, who questions her.

"Is this why you snuck out last night?"

"Thing and I made an unsanctioned trip to the morgue to copy the files of the monster's victims."

"Okay, there are so many levels of ew in that statement, I don't know where to begin."

"I need to get inside its head. Discover any patterns or anomalies. I've already made a big discovery. Turns out all of the monster's victims have had body parts surgically removed." She says, as she begins taking photos off and hands them to Enid for her to look at, much to her extreme discomfort.

"The first one a kidney, the second a finger..."

"Wednesday, I don't feel..."

"Third a gall bladder. And the bearded man from the meeting house, two toes. Do you understand what this means? These murders aren't mindless. He's collecting trophies like a seasoned serial killer. It's impressive, actually." She says turning back around to show Enid more, but by the time she did Enid had already fallen back unconscious now hovering delicately off the ground.

"Man, that was a close one."

Y/N stands there as he guides the winds carrying Enid over to her bed and laying her down gently on it.

"We're probably gonna need the smelling salts again" Y/N says and Wednesday nods.
—————
"While most plants reward their pollinators with sweet nectar, many carnivorous varieties turn to sexual trickery or deception." Miss Thornhill is currently giving a lecture on Carnivorous plants, Wednesday sits next to Xavier, who looks absolutely rough. He notices Wednesday's eyes glaring daggers at him.

"I tweaked my back fencing." He says as Thornhill continues.

"The orchid produces a pheromone that mimics a female insect, luring the males in. Now, once the plant is pollinated, what do the male insects get in exchange?" She asks.

"Nada. Just like all the guys at the Rave'N." Bianca says and some students laugh.

"Okay, okay. I know you're all excited about Saturday, which is why I haven't assigned any homework. But I do still need volunteers for the decorating committee. Anyone interested, come and see me up here."

"You're not gonna volunteer? Aren't you pumped about disco balls and spiked punch? There's even a DJ. MC Blood Suckaz."

"I'd rather stick needles in my eyes. I'll probably do that anyway." Wednesday snapped back annoyed. Xavier just chuckles dryly

Wednesday seemingly leaves the classroom, and Xavier walks away to who knows where, fortunately though Wednesday follows a good distance behind him to avoid detection. She watches him enter a building, it was dark and completely hidden away from everyone, he was there only for a little while before leaving again. Wednesday takes the opportunity and sneaks inside.

"Xavier didn't get those scratches from fencing. He's hiding something." She says and turns on the lights, immediately noticing the all-to-real paintings of a certain large-eyed monster.

"I suppose every artist needs a muse. Xavier, you just became that much more interesting." Wednesday takes a drawing for herself and quickly tries to leave until Xavier spots her.

"Wednesday." His voice calls out. She quickly halts dead in her tracks and turns around to face him.

"Xavier. Hello." She says, caught off guard.

"What are you doing?" He asks.

"Nothing. I just saw you come out this way. What is this place?"

"It's kind of my private art studio. I cleared it out, fixed it up, so Weems let me use it."

"How very entrepreneurial. I would love to see inside. Why don't you give me a tour?"

"Not right now. It's a total mess."

"I shadowed a crime scene photographer last summer. I'm not easily fazed."

"Maybe another time. Why were you looking for me?"

"I wanted to go over Ms. Thornhill's homework assignment." Wednesday said, "She didn't give us homework. Remember?" Xavier responds, catching her lie. Why are you really out here? Is this about a certain dance that makes you want to poke needles into your eyes, perhaps? I'm all ears."

"Sometimes intentions melt in the face of unexpected opportunity. If this was my chance to get up close and personal with a potential serial killer, how could I refuse?" Wednesday thinks to herself.

"Are you really going to make me ask?" She says and he nods smirking

"Oh, absolutely." He answers, Wednesday sighs "Would you..." She says struggling and forcing herself to get the words out. "Would you possibly consider going to the Rave'N dance with a certain..." She continues to struggle but pushes herself just a bit more until she finally says "Would... Would you go to the dance with me?" She finishes and Xavier smiles.

"Yes, Wednesday, I would love to go to the dance with you. I thought you'd never ask."

"Neither did I." She says through gritted teeth. Wednesday later informed Enid that she was now going.

"Oh my God! Wednesday Addams is going to the Rave'N." Enids says squealing. "My whole world is tilted!" "Who are you going with? Please tell me it's Y/N you two would look so great together."

"No, unfortunately I'm going with Xavier." Wednesday says with clear disappointment and an almost amount of color on her face from Enid's comment about Y/n and her.

"Oh.."Enid says with a slight hint of sadness and disappointment. "do you know what you need now!"

"A bullet to the head?"

"A dress."

"I already have one."

"Not the one you showed up here in! That thing was a fashion emergency, not even lightning could resuscitate. Thing, back me up here. You need something that screams, "First date. Stand back, bitches! I have arrived!" And I know just the place!" Enid says smiling and Wednesday dreads what she has in mind for her.

"What kind of dystopian hellscape is this?" Wednesday asks as she and Enid now stand outside of a dress shop. Wednesday looks at the pink building in pure disgust.

"Our first roomie shopping spree! The dance committee's suggesting all white to match the theme, but that's not gonna fly with us."

"I have more pressing business than to worry about a dress for a dance I don't want to attend."

"But I thought we were bonding." Enid says sadly

"I feel I'll only slow you down. You're a gazelle. I'm a wounded fawn. Cut me loose and go run with the pack." Wednesday says.

"Are you sure?" Enid says, but Wednesday is very sure

"I'm going to see Galpin." She answers and leaves to the sheriff, whose already sour mood worsens as Wednesday steps into his office.

"We both know that there's a monster out there. If we're going to stop it, I think it's time we put our differences aside and work together." Wednesday says to the sheriff, who just looks at her before she hands him the drawing she stole from Xavier's, and he compares it to a photo of the monster both having a clear resemblance to one another.

"And this is your stake for me to deal you in? I'm sorry, you gotta do better than that. You got some nice detail though."

"I didn't draw it."

"I need to know who did."

"Unless we're exchanging intel, I'm not at liberty to say."

"Why would I share information about an ongoing murder investigation with a high school kid?"

"Because I go to Nevermore and you don't. Don't you want eyes and ears behind those ivy-covered walls?" Wednesday asks offering him her insider information

"Listen, Velma, why don't you and the Scooby gang stick to your homework and leave investigating to the professionals." The sheriff replies, but he gets a phone call.

"What?" He says answering it.

"Mayor Walker's on line two. He's looking for an update." She says, he covers the phone and turns back to Wednesday.

"Hey, Addams. Let me see that sketch again." He says and she shows him, he looks at it once more and gives in.

"The person who drew this, that your suspect? When you bring me some concrete evidence, maybe we'll talk." He says before Wednesday leaves. She walks down the road by herself before feeling a familiar pleasant breeze brush across her face as Y/N appears right beside her.

"I'm guessing the sheriff wasn't buying whatever it is you were seeling?" He asks as they continue to walk together.

"Correct, the sheriff is in a particularly frustrating form today." She says and Y/N nods before remembering the reason he was her and the conversation he had with Enid and takes a deep breath a calming breeze washing over him. "So, you know we have the Rave'N this weekend right?" He says and Wednesday folds her arms.

"It was all the buzz at the Weathervane today. I must be the only one not obsessed with this stupid dance." She said and Y/N chuckles lightly.

"So, I'm guessing you're not going then?" He asks.

"Actually, I was forced to ask someone as an act of self-preservation." Wednesday admits, and Y/N's heart drops into his stomach, the winds he had emotionally knocked out out of him.

"Oh...so, who is it?" He asks.

"Xavier." She says and Y/N slowly nods while clenching his fist tightly before sighing. "Well, I hope you guys have a great time." He says and walks off.

"I'm not sure why you're upset." Wednesday said, Y/N says as he continues walking the winds around him growing restless and beginning to build.

"Of course, you don't."

"It's not my fault I can't interpret your emotional Morse code." Wednesday fires back and Y/N stopped dead and turned around a powerful and booming wind bursting behind him as he did so.

"Oh really, then let me just save you the confusion then Wednesday. I like you! All right? You wanna hear me say it again? You wanna break it out of me? I like you. He confesses no anger in his voice whatsoever just seriousness, truth, hurt and pure emotion which leaves Wednesday frozen and speechless. Y/N just continues.

"I like it that you get so cutely focused when it comes to your writing time, I like how captivating you are when you play your cello, I like that you're more than ready to take on the entire world at any moment and not give a damn about what anyone has to say about it, I like that you get a crinkle above your nose when you're glaring at me like you want to kill me, I like the fact that you knock me off my feet with more force than any wind ever could, And I love the fact that even though you attack me and threaten my life almost every day, I never feel freer and more alive than when I'm with you. That's me, that's the honest truth and I stand by every word." He finishes and Wednesday stands there silent, the strange feeling she felt in her chest returning once more as her hand shakes slightly wanting nothing more than to squeeze it out of her before she forces it and her emotions down and meets his eyes.

"I...I'm just dealing with a lot right now. I need to prioritize." Wednesday replies, and Y/N just sighs.

"Yeah...maybe I do too, enjoy your time with Xavier Wednesday, I hope you two have fun at the Rav'n I mean that." He says softly before walking away. "Wait..." Wednesday tries to call out to him but Y/N vanishes into the winds, Thing Crawls from her backpack to say something but Wednesday cuts him off.

"Not one word." She says angrily before eventually returning to the Bee Keeping station alongside her Evidence board to Eugene.

"Enid wouldn't let me keep this in our dorm." Wednesday said.

"No worries. Mi colmena es su colmena. I assume this is the creature that's been rampaging in the woods." Eugene says, looking at the photos.

"You've heard about it before?" She asks.

"Rumors. Mr. Fitts banned me from bug-hunting until further notice. Claimed a bear was on the loose, which I knew was a lie. Didn't match their hibernation schedules. Speaking of monsters with sharp claws, could you give this to your roomie?" Eugene hands her a jar of honey.

"Put in a good word for me? I hear she's still sans a date for the Rave'N." He says, Wednesday decides now is probably time for him to face reality.

"Eugene-"

"I know the chances of her asking me are next to zero, but I don't care. I'll keep putting myself out there until Enid finally... sees me. Eugene says.

"And if she never does?"

"I'm playing the long game. My moms say people will appreciate me when I'm older. They're probably just trying to make me feel better, but--"

"Listen, people like me and you, we're different. We're original thinkers, intrepid outliers in this vast cesspool of adolescence. We don't need these inane rites of passage to validate who we are." Wednesday said, giving Eugene some advice.

"So you're not going to the Rave'N either?" He asks, and Wednesday begrudgingly shakes her head.

"Actually, I am. With Xavier." She says, and Eugene looks a bit surprised.

"I see." He says, "It's not like I like Xavier. I just have ulterior motives." Wednesday explains

"No, I was just under the impression that regardless of anything, if there would be someone you would go with it would be Y/N." Eugene says, and Wednesday scowls at him.

"I'll hang out with him there then, he's always had my back whenever, about time I return the favor." He says completely oblivious to Wednesday's scowl.

"Anyways, Sketches are the closest thing I have to a lead to try and stop this thing." Wednesday continues, showing Eugene, which one photo piques his interest.

"That circle...I think I know where that is. He says and Wednesday steps forward

"Show me."
—————
"This has to be it" Y/N says as the three of them arrive outside of the cave.

"It's definitely a match." Wednesday says "You think it's in there?" Eugene asks Wednesday and Y/N, "Only one way to find out." Y/N says before entering in first. Wednesday turns to Eugene

"If you hear me screaming bloody murder, there's a good chance I'm just enjoying myself." she says before following Y/N into the dark unknown as they do Wednesday glances at his back "Thank you for coming Y/N." She says quietly and he slowly nods "Just because things are the way they are right now between us doesn't mean we aren't still partners in all of this." He says before they stumble upon some bones.

"This is definitely its lair." Wednesday said. Y/N kneels and examines the bones.

"Are these human?"

"No, I think it's got a taste for venison." Wednesday grab a deer skull. Y/N notices something nearby.

"Wednesday, look at this." He says grabbing onto something, a chain, and shackles. Y/N turns towards her.

"No doubt about it now this is definitely its lair, where did you get that picture anyway? He asks, but Wednesday says nothing as she notices something embedded into the ground, grabbing it, she pulls it up revealing a claw.

"What the hell is that?" Y/N asks "Concrete proof." she answers.

Wednesday later returns back to Xavier's art house, now with Thing.

"All right, I won't be long. I just need to find something to match against the claw's DNA." Wednesday and thing enter the room, but Xavier was quick to show up.

"What are you doing?" He asks accusingly.

"How do you know what the monster looks like? Or are these all just self-portraits?"

"What, you think it's me? I saved your life."

"So did the monster. Or was that you the night Rowan was killed?"

"You so are out of line now."

"I'm trying to uncover the truth. And your art seems to have a recurring motif." Wednesday said, and Xavier starts to crack.

"Yeah. This creature's been haunting my dreams for weeks. I try to block it out, but I can't. So I just... come in here and paint it. When I was painting this one, claws reached out and took a swipe at me. That's how I got these."

"I thought you were able to control your ability."

"Not when it comes to this."

"Maybe it's your guilty conscience."

"I told you I'm not the monster, okay?"

"You just happened to draw pictures of it, down to the location of its lair in the woods? Those are some pretty vivid dreams." Wednesday said, which angered Xavier.

"You were in here. Before, when I caught you outside. That's the only reason you asked me to the Rave'N? To try and cover. You are unbelievable."

"It's nothing personal."

"No, it never is with you, is it? I mean, do you even care about anyone or anything at all, Wednesday? Get out!" He says, and Wednesday slowly takes her leave, Wednesday goes back to the sheriff dropping off the claw and a bloody rag.

"That's the claw of the monster and that's a dried blood sample from a potential suspect. He used it to dab scratches on his neck. Run the DNA test and see if they match."

"I'm sorry, do I work for you?" The sheriff said.

"You asked for concrete evidence. That's it."

"Where'd you get this? And who's the suspect? "

"Run the test first, then I'll explain everything."

"I'm not playing games, Addams."

"Neither am I, Sheriff."

"...Bernice, bring me a DNA authorization form, please." He says calling someone, Y/N stood on top of the roof of his dorm feeling the winds around him before feeling a tap on his shoulder. He turns around to find Thing on his shoulder.

"Oh, hey Thing how's it going you try to enjoy the winds too? He said jokingly but Thing just wags a finger no and hands him a letter. "Huh, what's this?" He takes the letter and Thing hops off his shoulder and crawls away leaving Y/N to open it himself and read what's inside.

"HELL YES!!! Y/N screams out as he leaped from the roof and flew into his room, having a dance to get ready for.

Later in the night, Wednesday prepares herself for an outing with Eugene near the Monster's cave. When there's a knock at the door, she heads to open it.

"I'm coming, Eugene! Hey, did you grab any extra batteries for the flash--"

Wednesday opened the door to find not Eugene like she was expecting but Y/N handsomely dressed in a sleek jet black suit, a snow-white undershirt, and a perfect long black tie, his hair slightly done and the cologne he wore, the scent of Black Rose and Dark Chocolate fills her nose and for a moment her normal frozen heart ignited for the boy in front of her as he shot her a wink alongside his pure, contagious and idiotic smile.

"I got your invite. Guessing you had Thing drop it off." He says, and Wednesday was completely at a loss for words.

"After our last conversation, I wasn't really sure if things would ever be the same again and, to be honest...that scared me, but then I got your note, it was really honest and sweet." He says, but Wednesday continues to just stare at him, completely frozen in shock. "Uh, you need a few minutes?" Y/N asks before she shuts the door in his face and storms over to Thing.

"Honest and sweet?" How could you do this to me? That feeling in my chest is happening worse than ever now! Wednesday starts, but quickly stops as she sees a dress lying on her bed, it was dark elegant, and beautiful and so her.

"How'd you pay for it? Five-finger discount, of course. Thing, don't look." She says and gets dressed, Y/N waits downstairs and for the first time in a long time, his normally carefree and casual demeanor was nowhere to be found as nerves completely took a hold of him. The echoing of heels coming down the steps got him more anxious by the second...before having it all blown away as he sees the storm of pure beauty that was Wednesday. Her hair was now in an upper bob as she wore an all-black lace dress to her calves, it had side ruffles on both sides of her sleeves, and a sleek black waist belt to complete it all. Y/N just stood there captivated and mesmerized by her.

"Wow, you look..." He starts, but Wednesday looks more annoyed than anything.

"Unrecognizable? Ridiculous? A classic example of female objectification for the male gaze?" She says but he remains serious as he meets her eyes.

"Breathtaking, absolutely breathtaking. I mean it, Wednesday you look beautiful. He says and she looks away, small amounts of color making their way to her face before Eugene walks up to them.

"Wednesday, what's going on? What happened to staking out the cave?" He asks, seeing the both of them.

"Sure, I get it. Guess I'll check out the woods myself."

"Don't go alone. It's too dangerous. Stand down. We'll go together tomorrow night, understood?" Wednesday says to him "All of us." Y/N adds in and turns to Wednesday. "Now then..." Y/N smiles at her as he offers his arm "Shall we get going m'lady" He says happily as Wednesday scowls at him for a moment before rolling her eyes and taking his arm with a vice-like grip. "Let's." She says as they walk into the Rav'N, where Enid was already there with the mayor's son, he looks at the yeti statue a bit confused.

"Is that an abominable snowman?" He asks

"Oh my God! You can't say that, it's offensive! The correct name is Yeti. " Enid explains

"Oh, sorry. Do any go here?"

"Not anymore. They've been extinct since the 1950s. Our science teacher Ms. Thornhill chaired the dance committee this year. She wanted the Rave'N to feel relevant. So our theme is climate crisis meets extinction event. But in a fun way!"

He still looks confused but brushes it off, before they could go any further Enid's eyes shot wide with a mixture of shock, excitement, and joy as she saw Y/N and Wednesday absolutely steal the show and turn heads as they walked by. Mumurs of the people around them sneaking through.

"Yo, check it out."

"Wednesday totally busted out of her cocoon."

"Like a death's-head moth."

"Is that really Y/N with her?"

"I always thought he was cute but damn."

"Do you see Bianca's face? She's not going to be happy."

"Looks like we're the talk of the school right now." Y/N says as Wednesday looks around the room

"I guess Bianca was right about one thing, we make an impact wherever we go together just li—" He tries to finish but Wednesday quickly finishes for him "A Tsunami and a Tornado, although the lack of actual destruction is rather disappointing" She adds and Y/N chuckles "Well the night is still young, I'm sure we can come up with something for that."

"Wednesday Addams and Y/N Yagami. What a lovely surprise." Miss Thornhill says to the both of them.

"Miss Thornhill" The both of them responded in sync they glance at one another before Wednesday turns to the drink table. "I'm gonna go get us some drinks." Wednesday leaves as Y/N nods and smiles an obvious bounce to him thanks to being here with her now. Wednesday grabs a pair of drinks before Enid happily walks over to her.

"OMG! I love the look! Also looks like you finally came to your senses on a choice of date too." Enid says looking at Y/N as he freely breaks it down on the dance floor completely over the moon. Wednesday turns to Enid.

"I'd say yours is more surprising." She says, as Enid explains "It's not what it looks like." She says

"Good, because that pilgrim already has two strikes in my book." She said

"Lucas is trying to make his ex jealous. I'm trying to make Ajax jealous. It's a win-win." She explains, And Lucas walks over to them.

"Wednesday, I come in peace."

"That's a shame. I brought my pocket mace. The medieval kind." She says and glances back to Y/N only to find him being absolutely swarmed by girls asking him to dance before slowly dispersing one by one as they feel a dark and ominous cold wrap around them, Y/N glances and smiles noticing Wednesday's frigged glare. Xavier walks up next to her.

"Can't believe you brought him."

"Why are you bringing this up? As if this dance weren't tedious enough."

"You don't know what he did to me." Xavier says, and Wednesday tilts her head a bit.

"Enlighten me."

"Xavier tells her what Y/N did and Wednesday leaves to go find him, which she does seeing Y/N sitting down, Wednesday walks up and sat next to him.

"Hey, there you are was wondering where you went off to." He asks cheerfully

"Xavier told me what you did last year. How you destroyed his Outreach Day mural." Wednesday said, and Y/N sighs and goes to open his mouth but Wednesday quickly cuts him off "Did he deserve it?" She asks and Y/N looks at her a bit confused. "What?" He says much to Wednesday's annoyance "Did he deserve it, and don't make me ask again" She demands, and Y/N smiles as he recalls a very similar conversation the very first day they met "I deemed it so." He answers confidently and Wednesday nods relaxing a bit.

"Good enough for me. What did you do to the mural?" Wednesday said.

"Let's just say a strong wind came by and maybe...demolished it completely." He says and a small sound escaped from Wednesday's lips, and Y/N's eyes widened instantly.

"Did...did you just laugh?"

"No, I don't laugh I just found it humorous how you assumed I was going to judge you over something like that? That's exactly what I would have done perhaps even a little more if possible." She says and Y/N chuckles.

"I knew there was a reason I fell for you. He says smiling, and Wednesday felt happy, that feeling in her chest slowly coming back. "By the way since you've gotten the truth out of me more than once today, I think it's only fair if I get one out of you." He says playfully and smirks, Wednesday just scoffs "You can try." "You didn't write that invitation that Thing handed me did you?" He said and Wednesday instantly froze her silence giving Y/N all the truth he needed as he laughed "Gotcha." He says "H-How did you--" She tries but Y/N stops her "I think I know you well enough to figure out that writing something as honest and sweet as that for someone really isn't your style." He says and Wednesday clenches her fist...nervously expecting him to get upset but what he did next was the exact opposite as Y/N gave her a soft kiss on the nose knocking her out of it instantly as she glared at him color slowly creeping up her face.

"I'm not upset don't worry, even though you didn't write it you still came here with me anyways, and...that means more to me than anything in the world." He says and flashes her his pure, contagious, and Idiotic smile making the feeling in her chest grow just a little stronger as she looks away. "Y/N about what you confessed to me-" "Don't worry about it, you can answer that whenever you want, all I wanna do is just enjoy the time I'm having with you right now." He says as a strange song begins to play and he shoots up.

"Holy crap is that Goo Goo Muck? I love this song! Come on we have to dance!" He says and quickly takes Wednesday's hand, excited. Wednesday sees the joy in his eyes and a familiar pleasant breeze wraps itself all around her.

"Fine.." Wednesday pulls her hand back and follows him, they both stand in the middle of the dance floor across from one another and Y/N begins to dance, while Wednesday watches him simply standing there.

Y/N was so captivated by her that he just simply couldn't let her dance this dance alone. He summoned up a small gust of wind as he began to dance with Wednesday in perfect sync with the winds making up for any mistake he might make. Everyone watches as the two glided across the dance floor only focused on each other and nothing else.

As the two continued to dance and wow everyone, Wednesday couldn't help but have a small smile on her face, enjoying herself with the one person she could find it in. As the dance ended, Y/N cheered and took her by the hands.

"That was amazing! You're amazing! I'm so glad you came with me." He says and Wednesday felt the feeling in her chest stronger than ever before. She slowly pulled away.

"I need to rest my feet for a moment these shoes are absolutely killing me." She says and walks away. He nods and smiles. Wednesday enters a hall to sit, and finds Bianca.

"Whoever invented high heels clearly had a side hustle as a torturer." Wednesdays at down to take off her shoes.

"As my dear mother always says, "Fire tests gold, suffering tests a woman." Bianca replies

"Speaking of suffering, where's your date? I didn't see you and Xavier on the dance floor."

"We had a little tiff. About you, actually. You don't know what it's like."

"Being beautiful and popular?"

"Never knowing people's true feelings. If someone likes me for me." She admits

"What about your amulet?"

"It's not foolproof. It's a mild prophylactic, so to speak. That's why Xavier broke up with me. He could never fully trust me. The worst part is I could never trust his feelings either. I never knew if they were real or not. You're lucky."

"Do tell." Wednesday ask intrigued

"You don't care what people think of you. I can tell it's part of the reason he likes you so much." She says and nods towards Y/N who was dancing around like a total idiot.

"Honestly, I wish I cared a little more."

"It's time for the big finish. Yo! Almost eleven o'clock, so haul it out on the dance floor one last time before the Rave'N says "Nevermore!" The DJ yells, Wedneday stands up and slowly walks her way over to Y/N waiting for her, his idiotic smile in full display as he meets her halfway, and gets close to her.

"You gotta admit, not a bad night huh?" He says, smiling

"I've certainly had worse." She answers, and he chuckles

"There really is no one in the entire world that could hold a candle to you Wednesday Addams and that's what I love so much about you, and I'm thankful the winds brought me to you." He says, and Wednesday's cold heart ignited once more his words echoing in her mind as he slowly leans in before.

Ping!

The sprinklers fired off showering everyone in an ocean of  bloody red. Y/N quickly used his wind to shield himself and watched the chaos unfold all around him, he turned to Wednesday and for the first time, he saw it. Her smile as she enjoyed every second of the mayhem and Y/N felt his heart leap out of his chest seeing it in all its beauty. She tastes the odd liquid and her disappointment returns.

"They couldn't even spring for real pigs' blood. It's only paint. She says and Y/N laughs

"Well I'll give em an A for eff-" He says before someone bumps into him and Wednesday before a horrifying and dark breeze wraps itself around him, he glances at Wednesday only to find her going into another vision, he watches as she goes stiff and he quickly catches her, she snaps out of it and looks him in the eyes.

"Eugene is in the woods. He's in danger." She says, before running off, Y/N quickly summons up a wave of wind and takes off after her, taking her into his arms as they fly off calling for Eugene.

"Eugene!"

"Eugene! Eugene?"

Y/N feels the winds guide him as the scent of blood fills his nose before coming across him.

"Oh no, Wednesday! I see him!" He lands and they rush over to him "Eugene?" "Eugene, come on stay with me buddy!" He was bleeding and unresponsive they both desperately try to do what they can before Y/N stands up and turns his attitude to Wednesday a dark and powerful wind swirling all around him

"Wednesday we need to find that monster now, and when we do..."

Y/N turns to her and something impossible happens a chill runs down her spine as she meets Y/N's now glowing red eyes.

"It dies."
