"Home sweet home."

Y/N stands in front of the main entrance to the Kannagi estate, an unpleasantly cold and nostalgic wind slowly wraps itself around him whispering in his ears as it guides his mind to memories of the past. His mother slowly slides a single silver card across the table as a younger Y/N sits across from her a confused look plastered across his face.

"Mother...what is this?" Y/N asked

"It is my final gift to support yourself."

"What?"

"I'm sorry Y/N, I wish I could be proud of you but you couldn't master your own flames." She said disappointingly before sitting up to leave, Y/N desperately tried to reach out to her

"Mother wait-." He tries to finish but the sound of the door slamming shut cuts him off and the memory slowly fades, Y/N looks towards the main entrance calm and focused.

"I said I'd never come back here again, but now I guess I don't have any other choice." He says and sighs as he walks his way through only to stop dead in his tracks the moment he passes through as five Kannigs suddenly emerged from the shadows of the day.

"Don't move another inch Y/N, what the hell are you doing here?" They asked although from the looks on their faces not really interested in an actual answer

"I just want to see Jugo, let me through."

"Oh, and we're just supposed to step aside and let you pass, is that what you're saying?"

"You murdered seven of our family members in cold blood now you're gonna pay!" They yelled, Y/N couldn't help but smirk and chuckle a bit as he watched the five of them start to back up ready to attack. "Well, what do you know you guys haven't changed a bit ganging up on me like the cowards you always were." He said mockingly and wholeheartedly, the five of them glared at him as they each formed a massive fireball in their hands.

"You son of a bitch!"

"Take him down!" The five of them each blasted at Y/N all together completely enveloping him in a massive wave of fire they looked on proudly at what they seemingly had done before the wave of flames instantly dispersed as a small but powerful whirlwind took its place alongside a completely untouched and unimpressed Y/N who yawned tiredly

"I don't have time for this today." He said before increasing the whirlwind tenfold and launching it sending the five Kannagis flying off and crashing back down to the ground completely immobilized, "Gee thanks for the warm welcome." Y/N said casually walking on ahead his hands never leaving his pockets.

"I'll kill yo-" One of the Kannagi goes to finish but Jugo quickly cuts him off, a dense and powerful burning wind wrapped all around "That's enough." He said calmly as his and Y/N's eyes met

"It's good to see you Y/N it's been too long, I'm told you and your father have had a reunion." He says and Y/N couldn't help but smirk and chuckle a bit

"You mean when I kicked his ass." Y/N says proudly and Jugo laughs

"Indeed I wasn't aware of that." He said and Y/N's smirk quickly dropped as a severe stare took its place

"Ren's in big trouble he got kidnapped last night."

"By who?"

"A wind user probably the same one who's been killing off Kannagis lately, but I don't have a clue what he would want with Ren you have any ideas?" He asked and Jugo fell silent "So I'll take that as a yes." Y/N says, Jugo nods and smirks a bit before turning back towards the manor "We can talk about this inside, come we have much to discuss." Jugo said as he walked on ahead and Y/N slowly followed "Yeah...right" He said as the two of the walked along through the entire field of the estate towards the manor every step filling Y/N's mind with memories of his past as he looked out at the seemingly endless cascade of trees and small ponds that surrounded them along the path. Suddenly Y/N stops and looks up at the massive manor he once called home a wind of pure melancholy wraps itself around him and whispers in his ears before Jugo turns back noticing his trance-like state.

"Does it bring back memories?" He asks, Y/N takes a deep breath and lowers his head "No, not at all." He said and they walked inside, outside however a cab slowly pulls up in front of the main entrance to the Kannagi estate the back door flies open as Ayano leaps out from inside and rushes through her eyes widen in shock as she sees the destruction Y/N had caused laid out in front her as well as a Kannagi attendant helping the wounded members of her family

"What's going on, what happened here?"

"Ayano" The attendant called out to her and Ayano quickly ran to her side

"Y/N did this."

"You mean he was here?" She asks and the attendant just nods

"Where did he go?"

"He was walking inside the house with master Jugo." She answers and Ayano looks towards her home her sword igniting in her hand "Oh was he." Y/N sits inside the Kannagi manor alongside Jugo shuffling through a book of photographs before he instantly recognizes one of them as the person who had kidnapped Ren the other night and hands it back to Jugo

"Here he is this guy, but he had some kind of strange aura when I saw him." He said as Jugo looks at the photo and contemplates for a moment "Just as I suspected." He said Y/N looked at him both intrigued and slightly confused.

"So what are those files you got there?"

"These are-" Jugo tries to finish but is quickly cut off as the door flies open an extremely angry and bloodthirsty Ayano with Enriha burning brightly in her hands before charging at Y/N who just looked at her completely befuddled "You're mine traitor!!!"

"AYANO!" Jugo roared out and instantly the flames on Enriha extinguished as Ayano froze on the stop before turning to him "I-I thought you were in trouble" She said with nervous desperation but Jugo wasn't having any of it.

"No, but you are, you have disobeyed me for the last time young lady you were told to stay home last night and now you draw your sword at my guest."

"But he's the wind user who's been killing Kannagis." She argued pointing at Y/N who just groaned in annoyance

"I told you already it wasn't me alright."

"Oh yeah, of course, it was so you better stop lying."

"Enough." Jugo said jumping back in and the both of them looked at him "The murderer is a user of the winds but it's not Y/N he's not out advisory here I'm afraid...It's the Fuga family they have decided to take revenge against our family." He revealed and Ayano looked at him shocked and confused

"Why father?" Ayano asks as she sits down beside Y/N, Jugo quickly shows her the book of photographs and points to the picture of the man that kidnapped Ren "This is the person Y/N encountered Ruri Fuga son of Yuri Fuga when Y/N told me this I had the Fuga's house searched but it was found abandoned which suggest that their entire family is involved in all of this madness." He explained

"But father it doesn't make any sense they've served our family for generations now if you ask me it's this guy we can't trust not them." She said glaring at Y/N who glared right back " And if you ask me you're a stubborn spoiled brat, once you've made up your mind about something you won't change it even if all the evidence proves you're wrong." He said laying into her only angering Ayano even more

"What? take that back asshole!"

"If it was Y/N why would he not have killed you already." Jugo said throwing Ayano entirely for a loop

"Well...Well because...because he knows there is no defeating the Enriha." She said proudly to which Y/N couldn't help but laugh while just Jugo rolled his eyes at her and shook his head in disappointment "Don't be so arrogant, Genma our strongest fire wielder proved to be no match against him in a fight." He admitted and Ayano's jaw seemingly hit the floor.

"H-He lost?"

"That's correct and Y/N could do the same to you his powers are far greater accept it." He said and Ayano quickly deflated in defeat, Y/N playfully patted her on the back smirking "Hey it's alright Ayano if it makes you feel any better you probably can't even beat my girlfriend Wednesday either...hell, I don't know if I could." He says and smiles a bit thinking about her while Ayano glares at him. Jugo quickly continues on "The Fugas used Y/N as a scapegoat hoping to divert our attention away from the real murder"

"They've always been smart but I still don't understand why they would want to kidnap Ren." Y/N asks

"It's rather simple actually it's because he is part of the head family." Jugo answers and Ayano looks between the two of them seemingly more out of the loop than she originally thought

"Wait, kidnapping, revenge I don't understand what you're talking about."

"You're too young to understand the Fuga's history, but they weren't always our servants in fact they were once an organization with power and influence."

"How did that change father?" She asked

"Three hundred years ago our families fought a long and bloody war the Kannagis won, but only because they were able to seal away the Fuga's source of power."

"But father what was it?"

"I know it's a spirit." Y/N said jumping back in and Jugo nodded "Yes and they worshipped this spirit as their god, a demonic spirit a powerful and bloodthirsty one."

"No, it can't be." Y/N said in shock the piece finally coming together in his mind

"That's right, Ren has been chosen to be a sacrifice for their revived demonic spirit" Jugo explained and Y/N's eyes focused and sharpened with anger his fist clenched tightly as his mind flashed to a memory he had not recalled in a long time nor one that he ever wanted to. It was a memory of a young blonde-haired girl hovering in the air, blood all around her as the life slowly drained from her eyes. It was a horrible memory but the last one Y/N had of her...of Sarah.

In the mountains of upstate New York Ren lays out unconscious before the remains of an ominous and withered shrine as a malicious black flame burned at its center, Yuri smiled as he watched the twisted flame dance collapsing and expanding upon itself.

"After all this time we've finally discovered the location of the seal and have the means to free our god from his captivity. In a matter of hours, the Fuga family will be a power to be reckoned with once more, and it's all due to my son Ruri. He willingly allowed the demonic spirits that were lingering around the seal to enter his body, they might have been few in number but the spirit's strength was legion by becoming their host Ruri gained immeasurable power, and once we release the seal and free lord Galo from his confinement the power will increase exponentially and now that this boy is here in our grasp that time is almost here!" Yuri thought victoriously as his demented smile grew wider. Jugo looked between Y/N and Ayano and explained things further

"Long ago the Kannagi family trapped this demonic spirit which the Fugas call lord Galo and confined with a seal imbued with a sliver of power from the great Spirit King of Fire himself anyone who touches it will be burned horribly beyond recognition." He states and as he does so Ruri stands beside his father in the mountains staring down at Ren dark winds quickly emerge from his body and enter Ren before he slowly sits up his eyes now open but dull and soulless

"However there are exceptions to this rule namely any immediate members of the Kannagi head family their bodies can never be burned so only by manipulating these Kannagis could the Fuga family ever break the seal. That, in turn, would free lord Galo who would then take residence in the clans chosen host in this way its powers could be extended to every family member making them the most formidable indeed, we now know the intended host to be Ruri Fuga I reached this conclusion after studying the ancient texts passed down through the Kannagi family."

"But father what'll happen to Ren?" Ayano asks concerned and slightly scared

"After he breaks the seal for them the demonic spirit will know that he is descended from those that had imprisoned it and will then want to take its revenge no doubt devouring him completely including every fragment of the boy's soul." Jugo says, Ayano angrily slams her fist on the ground and stand up "Alright I've heard enough, we have to go find him no matter what and we can never forgive the Fugas for what they've done all we've ever tried to do was help them you'd think they'd be thankful instead they do this it's totally unjustified."

"Unjustified huh are you sure about that?" Y/N says calmly jumping in

"Of course I am and you're not?" She fired back glaring at him

"What exactly have the Kannagis done for the Fugas? Sure working for the family sounds good, but they're basically just slaves to be ordered around." He explained but Ayano wasn't having any of it

"That's bullshit our slaves? We never once looked at the Fuga family like that."

"But you didn't look at them as equals either, the Kannagi family broke a once powerful people who didn't use fire and the thing they did use you guys all considered inferior and you let the Fugas know this every day. Not too different from my situation now is it? Of course, the difference is I only had to deal with it for a few years the Fuga family has been doing it for three hundred that's a long time to hold a grudge now they're all pissed off and want revenge, and based on what they've done so far they won't rest until every member of the Kannagi family is dead and guess what...I don't blame them, I blame the Kannagi family for pushing them to this point." He finishes a cold truth lacing every single one of his words and Jugo could only sigh tiredly as he closed his eyes in shame

"You're absolutely right Y/N, as head of the family I've tried to rectify the disparities that have existed for so long sadly it was not to be."

"Yeah, now thanks to this family they're gonna take Ren's life."

"Father please where is the Fuga family now? just tell me and I'll rescue him." Ayano pleads

"Ayano you're not strong enough."

"I can't just sit here and do nothing I won't let this happen, I won't Ren's just a kid he wasn't born just to be eaten by some demon!" She argues and Y/N's eyes shot wide as he heard her, his mind instantly racing back to that day as Sarah spoke to him with her dying words "Was I really born in this world...just to be eaten by a demon." The memory slowly fades and Y/N sighs heavily while Ayano wasn't backing down.

"Give me the location of the seal I'm going now."

"Hold up, if you go after them you won't make it very far not with Ruri on their side, what you need is backup." Y/N says as he stands up "And I don't mind providing it." He finishes and both Jugo and Ayano look at him surprised

"Y/N" They both said in perfect sync and Y/N looked at them both determined and focused

"He'll use all his powers to whip the spirits of the wind into a frenzy and when he does I won't be able to control them, see just wind isn't enough but wind and fire that's a different story. Ruri can be destroyed by the both of us" Y/N explains and Ayano smirks slightly

"Alright fine, do you think there's any chance it'll work?" She asks, Y/N just shrugs

"Maybe...probably...I guess?" Y/N said completely nonchalantly and Ayano instantly glared at him

"Excuse me, I guess Y/N!" She barks

"What do you want me to say? I've never fought against a guy like him alright the closest thing was a racist zombie pilgrim, for all I know he could kill the both of us." He says and Ayan stomps her foot down.

"Then I better go find a new partner!" She said angrily before Jugo jumps back in "No you won't Y/N is going with you." He said sternly and Ayano instantly deflated "But why father?" She asked and Y/N just flashed his signature pure, contagious, and idiotic smile

"Great, so what'll you pay me?" He said wholeheartedly and both Ayano and Jugo stared at him completely stunned and confused "Sure I said I'd help rescue Ren but I never said I'd do it for free." He explained his smile never dropping even for a second as Ayano glared at him with hatred in her eyes

"Your families in trouble and you're asking for money?!"

"But you're not my family not anymore and just for the record my last name's Yagami now." He fired back harshly and Jugo smirks slightly

"Very well Y/N just name your price." He says and Ayano simply can't believe it

"Are you serious?"

"Where are they?" Y/N asks completely ignoring her

"Up north in the Appalachian Mountains" Jugo reveals and Y/N nods "Then let's go." He says before turning back and walking out the door while Ayano stood there frozen in place completely in shock by what just happened

Yuri stares deeply into the black flames as his son and other members of the Fuga family gathered all around him before another member emerges from the winds kneeling down before him.

"Master Yuri sir the entire family has been assembled we await your orders."

"Very well, let us begin the ceremony." He says as a powerful breeze blows through whispering in Ruri's ear as he looks off into the unknown, Yuri quickly notices this "What's the matter Ruri do you sense the Kannagi?" He asks but the possessed Ruri only grunts in response and Yuri chuckles to himself "If they'd stayed out of this they could have lived a little longer, let them come whether now or later they will be dead soon enough the Fuga family will avenge itself at last and when the dust has finally settled there won't be a single member of the Kannagi family left alive." He swears as he stands and looks at the soulless Ren.

Speeding down the long and winding roads toward Ren's location Y/N and Ayano just narrowly avoid crashing into everything in sight

"Watch it would ya, where the hell did you learn to drive?!" Ayano nagged and Y/N just focused on the road ahead "Uh, here in this car about an hour ago." He says and quickly glances at the driver's manual lying above the dashboard

"Well you're driving like a maniac can't you slow down a little?"

"Sure just as long as you don't mind that Ren and your family will probably all be dead by the time we get there." He fired back staying focused on the road, Ayano glares at him for a moment before glancing out the window remembering what she and her father discussed before she left.

"I insist it's quite simple Ayano he is powerful you do remember he defeated Genma" Jugo said

"I don't care the guy's still an asshole. we're paying him to save his own brother, how can he talk about money with Ren's life at stake?"

"You misunderstand it's the only way he can save face, helping Ren means helping the Kannagis, and Y/N has made his feelings clear about that but he can't just let his brother die so if we pay him he can save Ren and still preserve his honor." Jugo explains smiling slightly at the thought of Y/N's plan

"I still don't trust him father not at all."

"You're going to have to there's no choice you and Y/N must work together if not our enemy will already have defeated us and Ren will be lost forever." Jugo finishes as the memory slowly fades out and the car hits another bump in the road, Ayano quickly glares at Y/N again

"Um yeah, are you doing this on purpose or something?" She asks and Y/N stays completely silent "Well aren't you going to answer me, no of course not you're just gonna stare at the road and ignore me completely."

"So you tend to fly off the handle don't cha?" Y/N asked never taking his eyes off the road still

"Yeah, your point?"

"Anger's a powerful tool for creating energy in flame control, and with that temper of yours I can tell you got a lot of energy." He says and she looks at him slightly annoyed

"So, is that a compliment or an insult."

"It's a little of both without self-control anger can be a liability, I just need to know you can keep yours in check."

"Hey look Y/N don't worry ok I've got plenty of self-control." She said smirking confidently

"We'll have a problem if you don't, how about we go over the plan one more time?" He suggests and Ayano sighs "Alright then, I'm gonna launch a frontal attack on Ruri while you sneak up and attack him from behind at least that's how it's supposed to work but to tell you the truth I'm not too happy about it." She said nervously

"Why?"

"Well...what if I mess things up?"

"You won't I'm sure you'll do fine in fact I'm counting on you." He said reassuringly to which Ayano stares at him slightly taken a back

"Oh really that's weird"

"What do you mean?"

"Hearing you say something like that guess I'm kinda surprised maybe you're not as arrogant as I used to think you were."

"Thanks a lot, now let's get our heads in the game we gotta rescue Ren." He says before thinking to himself "I'll never let him or anyone else be a sacrifice." Suddenly a familiar vile and murderous wind wraps itself around him and his eyes instantly go wide

"Watch out!" He says, Y/N extends his hand and blasts off the passenger door with a powerful gust of wind leaving Ayano completely shocked "I could have just rolled down the window if you want--" She tries to finish but Y/N quickly cuts her off grabbing her and flying out of the car just before it was completely split apart by multiple blades of dark wind and explodes, the both of them quickly land and Y/N smirks as Ruri lands right in front of them

"Good to see you again Ruri, now where'd you take my brother I hear you wanna sacrifice him well I'll be dammed if I'd ever let that happen so let's end this!" Y/N yells as a powerful whirlwind swirls all around him and Ayano stands beside him Enriha ignited in her hands.

Here we are people 3 chapters down just 1 more to go and our little side still with Y/N will officially be over so for those of you waiting for it guess you get your wish lol. Just kidding this has been really fun to write and I really hope you guys have been enjoying it eventhough it's not with Wednesday and everyone else if not I'm really sorry

Also you guys really thought I just forgot that whole Sarah plot point huh? Bet even most of you guys did too well I didn't was all planned to he explained here! So yay loose ends being tied up woo!! If you did forget though Sarah is that second Ghost Wednesday met when she first talked with Goody.
