Lucy's POV

  "I saw Lisanna crying at the girls restroom earlier." I said in a low and uncertained tone. I forcefully closed my eyes and waited patiently for his violent reaction, but nothing came. 5 seconds... 12 seconds.. 19 seconds.. 27 seconds.. 34 seconds.. 49 seconds.. 57 seconds.. 1 minute.. there was no shouting nor cursing was heard.

  "..." i was answered with complete silence. I opened my eyes and looked at him in confusion. But his face didn't held any emotion. He looks emotionless.

  "I said i saw Lisanna crying." I said a little louder, attempting to let my words sink in on him.

  "..." he still didn't answered. Seriously? I just saw his bestfriend/First Love crying and this is how he'll react? NOTHING?! I facepalmed and glared at him, hard.

  "NATSU! FOR MAVIS SAKE, REACT!" I yelled. His face finally reacted. He looked shocked.

  "What?!" He said really surprised. Though, i'm already pissed due to his delayed reaction. Talk about buffering. I stomped my foot on his. Hard. He cried in pain, jumping all around.

  "ITAI!" He yelled, which made me roll my eyes. Tch. Cry baby.

  "I'm not joking, Natsu!" I said in an annoyed voice.

  "Neither am i. I was serious when i said i wouldn't react until you said so."

  "I thought you were joking."

  "Sorry to say but i'm a man who keeps his word."

  "Yeah, right." I said while rolling my eyes.

  "So, why did you told me that?" He asked, clueless apparently. He had his brows knitted together, a look of confusion on his face.

  "Because you're his bestfriend, dummy! So, i thought that you have the right to know." I retorted while arms crossed.

  "Well, that's so thoughtful of you, Ms. Heartfilia." He chuckled before pinching my cheek. Irritated, i brushed his hands away and rubbed my sore cheeks.

  "I told you just incase she needs some company." I reasoned out, hands on my hips. Although, it hurts inside. It's like i'm giving him away to someone else. Lile i'm pushing him away. But i need to do this. They might grow closer to each other. It will surely make him happy. And that's all what matters to me right now. Even though it hurts deeply. We'll be a step closer on our goal.

  "I'll ask her what's wrong if that's what my girlfriend is implying. " he said while rolling his eyes, crossing his arms infront of his unbuttoned uniform that reveals his white under shirt.

  "Are you dense or stupid? I'm helping you out here, Genius. This might help you get closer to Lisanna." I said while glaring at him. He looked shocked, though.

  "Wait, you're doing this to make me and Lisanna closer?" he asked in disbelief. 'I don't want to, but i have to.' I thought sadly and bitterly.

  "Of course!" I exclaimed in a 'duh' tone.

  "Huh? But why?" He asked, still shock. Urgh! Don't make this harder than it is, Natsu! Just go with it, ok?!

  "That's the purpose of our contract, right?" I remind him, though i failed to hide the bitterness in my voice. He seemed to notice as he raised an eyebrow at me. Seemingly oblivious on what i'm feeling right now. Tch. You dense idiot!

  "Oh, yeah. Right." He muttered in disappointment. Huh? What happened to him?

  "What i'm saying is, just go to her and ask her what's her problem. Comfort her. This is your chance." I attempted to sound excited, but deep inside my heart was shattering. I smiled with my eyes closed. Just so he won't notice the tears that's building up on my eyes. I rounded around him and pushed him towards the direction of Lisanna's house.

  "O-Ok, but let me walk you home first." He offered which made me shook my head in disapproval.

  "No, i'm fine. It's only 5 pm. Just go. He needs you more than i do." I said with a smile. But it was fake. I'm sure he saw right through it since he frowned at me. But decided to not question it.

  "Are you sure?" He asked, like not wanting to leave me.

  "Yes. Now go!" I nudged him,while giving him one more push. He sighed in defeat. He turned around, kissed my forehead and walked away. Just watching his silhouette disappearing made my heart broke to million pieces. And with that, I ran home.

"LUCY!" i heard someone yelled my name. I slowly turned around and faced a panting Natsu. His hands were on his knees, catching his breath.

  "Good morning, Natsu." Greeting him, i rumpaged through my bag and offered him my bottled water which i always bring to school. He gave me a thankful smile and drank more than half of its content. I wasn't worried though. I can always buy water at school.

  "Good morning, Luce." He greeted, giving me back the bottled water. I took it from him and returned it to my bag. I was about to sling it to my shoulders but Natsu beat me to it. He took my bag from me and carried it himself. I was about it protest but decided against it. This was Natsu were talking about. He's stubborn as hell. We started to walk to the familiar path to school.

  "So, how was Lisanna?." i asked rather awkwardly.

  "Lisanna? She's fine. She was crying because her father was out of town for a couple of months." Natsu said quite bored.

  "Oh." That was all i said.

  But i know there's something more behind those tears. I just knew it.
