Naina was siting by the side of the lake. It was night. Alekh sat beside her.

"Terko problem kya hai ? Sir ne mana thodi kiya hai...mission hone ke baad jo karna hai, karlena tumlog."

"Aur agar mission successful nahi hua toh...tu jaanta hai na ki hum kis tarah ke khatarnaak logon ke saath ladh rahe hai. Iss mission ke dauran unhe ya mujhe kuch hogaya toh ? Kal mein jeene ka kya matlab ?" asked Naina.

"Haan woh toh hai, par unke dimag mein iss waqt bohot kuch chal raha hai. Samajh na, Army se nikala gaya hai unhe. Beizzat kiya gaya sab ke saamne."

"Toh mein kaha keh rahi hu ki mujhe gale lagaye. Saara waqt merese baat kare , date pe lejaye. "

"Toh tu chahti kya hai ?" asked Alekh. 

"Bas ye woh mann le ki pyaar karte hai mujhse."

"Keh to diya unhone."

"Aise nahi jaise koi bohot bada paap hai. "said Naina irritatedly. Why was no one getting her point.

"Tu shant rehna do minute. Acha bol, Capt Rajveer jo bhi karte hai , tere liye , woh sahi hota hai ya nahi ?"

"Haan"

"Tu trust karti hai na unhe ?"

"Haan"

"Toh bharosa rakh aur baaki sab waqt pe chod de. Capt Rajveer jo karenge soch samajh kar karenge."

Rajveer opened the kitchen door. "Guys, aajao. Khaana tayyar hai."

Rajveer had insisted he would cook, throwing both of them out of the kitchen.

"Arre wah sir, Kya khana bana hai. Aapki biwi toh badi khush rahegi." said Alekh,  gobling the food.

Naina looked at Rajveer. He looked at her for a sec, before turning back to Alekh.

After dinner, Alekh asked Rajveer "Sir, aap ke woh godfather, unki madad nahi le sakte apun ?"

"Nahi Alekh, abhi nahi. Unka bohot bada mukaam hai. Mein nahi chahti ki meri vajah se unko kuch bhi nuksaan ho. Unhone bohot mehnat se apne liye ek naam banaya hai. Mein unhe in sab mein ghaseet ke unko barbaad nahi karna chahta. Hum unhe contact karenge, jab humare paas ek air tight case ban jayegi. We will go to him with all the proofs."

Alekh nodded. Alekh went off to sleep. Naina was going up the stairs when she thought of something. She came down.

"Sir. Mein puchna bhool gayi. Aapke kisi family ko inform karna hai kya ki aap theek ho. I mean, woh pareshaan hote honge. "

"Naina, mera koi family nahi hai."

Naina looked at him surprised. Rajveer turned to look outside the window.

"Mere parents ki ek car crash mein death hogayi, when I was 16. Uske baad meri dadi ne mujhe bada kiya. She expired just after I passed out of  KMA."

Naina felt really bad for him. She had no idea about his past.

"I am sorry sir, mujhe aapko  yu puchna nahi chahiye tha."

"No, it's fine Naina. I had a wonderful childhood. And my dadi was really sweet. She was a strong woman." said Rajveer. "She would have really liked you." he thought.

"I am sure they would have been very proud of you, Sir."

Rajveer looked at her and smiled." Jao so jao Naina, bohot raat ho gayi. "

"Yes sir, and I wanted to say something. I trust Abhimnayu too. He is not a bad guy. Woh bas thode...thode.." Naina scratched her head searching for the right word, while Rajveer looked at her.

"Thode bevakoof hai" said Naina quietly.

Rajveer burst into laughter.

Rajveer and the cadets sat at the table pouring over the documents. All of them were successful in their missions. 

"Sir, Dr Shalini ne kaha woh humare liye Major Nair pe nazar rakhegi. In fact, she is going to bug his room and listen to all his conversations. She will let us know as soon as she hears something useful. She said she will assess Capt Abhimanyu's mood and tell him the truth at the right time." said Pooja.

"That's great Cadet Ghai. Alekh, we will get the guns by tomorrow right ? I got Col. Shakti's home address. We need to get to his personal computer. He must have found out something, that landed him into all this."

"Sir, humne humare Abu ke doston se pata kiya. Col Shakti unke AWOL hone ke ek hafta pehele, Rorkee gaye the." said Ali.

" Col. Bisht se milne gaye honge." said Rajveer hopefully. " He is retired, but Col Shakti spoke very highly of him. Cadet Ali, we need to get his address."

"Yes sir."

The discussions went on till late night.

Rajveer sat at the sofa near the window. Naina came and sat next to him with papers in her hand. 

"Sir, in mein se toh kuch bhi pata nahi chal raha. Humein aur information chahiye hoga."

"I know Naina, but...there is nothing more."

"There is sir, aapne woh red box ke contents dekhe hai. "

Rajveer looked at her with a question mark.

"Sir , mein ye kehna chahti hu, that our mind and memory is more powerful than we think. Agar aap theek se yaad karenge, toh aap ko bohot kuch aisa yaad aayega, jo aapke subconscious mein chupa ho."

"Tum mujhe wapis red box ke contents banane ke liye bol rahe ho ? by memory ? "

"Yes sir. Apni aakhen band kijiye."

Rajveer looked at her. He slowly closed his eyes. 

"Sir, uss din ko yaad karne ki koshish kijiye."

Rajveer's vision moved to the day. Naina at the table in the canteen....The hatred in her eyes...."Begunahi toh kal hi saabit kardeti mein Capt Shikhawat....par aapki wajah se.." Rajveer opened his eyes..her words, her anger still pained him. He looked up. The very same eyes were looking at him with all the love in the world. How time turns he thought. Naina gave him a nod asking him to resume. He closed his eyes again. The phone call with Lala Gehlot. " Haa Raj, USA jaa raha hu..actually kuch foreign delegates ke saath meeting hai.." Begging Col Shakti. " Please sir, 15 din bohot hote hai, Mein tab tak uss red box ka intezaar nahi kar sakta". Saying goodbye to Abhimanyu " Agar mujhe kuch hojaye,  toh Naina se sirf itna kehna ki mein haar gaya" . When he met Col Shakti " Cheh baje ke baad yeh box kaha jayega sir ?" " humein orders kaun deta hai, kaha se aate hai, yeh kabhi humein bataya jaata hai kya, Captain ?"

Rajveer opened his eyes again. " Nahi Naina, mujhse yeh nahi hoga. Meine hi unko majboor kiya tha, force kiya tha, red box dikhane ke liye. Agar meine agar aisa nahi kiya hota....toh aaj woh shayad zinda hote."

" Aur unhi ki maut ke peeche ki asliyat jaanne ke liye aapko yeh karna padega sir. " said Naina in a soft encouraging tone. "You can do it. Please focus." She held his hand.

Rajveer felt an unknown strength. With determination, he closed his eyes. He had torn open the box.  The box had another box and finally the Red box. Files. Red, Yellow. He had opened the first one. " Arms deals " he said aloud with his eyes closed. Naina immediately grabbed a pen. " Hisar Military station, Bhujia Fort,.Sita....Sitabuldi fort".

This went on for a while. Rajveer opened his eyes. Both of them looked at the paper. It was bits and pieces, but something to start.

Rajveer came upstairs the next morning to find all of them doing masti in the kitchen.

" Sir aayiye na, biscuit khayenge ? " offered Pooja.

Rajveer took the plate from her and put it down on the table.

"Kya kar rahe ho tum log. Rakho sab yeh bscuits, neeche rakho. Aur neeche basement mein chalo. Waha weights rakhe hai aur treadmill bhi hai.  Ek ghante tak koi upar nahi aayega." ordered Rajveer.

"Sirr" Pooja whined. Huda was yawning streching his hands.

"Guys, sipahi ko humesha fit aur disciplined rehna chahiye. Ab utho. Left Right Left."

All of them got up. They marched down for an hour of exercise. By the time, they came up Rajveer had prepared breakfast for them. There was poha, boiled eggs and milk glasses waiting for them. They sat down to have the food.

"Chief, Sir toh Captain mode se Suriji mode pe chale gaye hai." said Yudi

Huda, Alekh and Pooja turned to look at Rajveer. Suddenly they imagined him in a turban and a belly.

"Kha theek se, warna teri dono kaano ke beech mein na sar kar dunga.

They burst out laughing like maniacs.

"Yeh lijiye sir ammunition aagaya " said Alekh, putting them all on the table.

"Aur sir, yeh hai Col Bisht ke ghar ka address." said Ali.

"Good job guys. Now for the missions. Cadet Ghai, aapko Col Bisht ke paas jaake unse baat karni hogi. Pose as a ...a journalist to get an appointment to meet him. Take this gun for safety. Cadet Beigh, go with her."

"Yes sir."

"Cadet Alekh, yeh address lijiye aur saaman bandhiye. Hum dono Col Shakti ke ghar jaane wale hai. Unke ghar se...woh laptop ko churaane."

"Haan to apun leke aayega na..Aapko aane ki kya zaroorat hai. Aapun daka dalne mein maahir hai." said Alekh.

"Mein jaanta hu Cadet Alekh..lekin mein aapko yeh akele nahi karne doonga. Aur yakeen maniye, churana mujhe bhi aata hai."

"haan...sirf dil churana aata hai.." Alekh murmured, looking down. "Theek hai sir. Chaliye."

"Tum teenon, unn papers pe jagah aur naamon ke list pe work karna." said Rajveer to Naina, Yudi and Huda.

Quickly they were packed and ready to leave. Alekh and Rajveer had disguised themselves. As , they were leaving Rajveer turned. He did not know if he was going to come back. He just wanted to look at her once, with all his heart.

Sighing, he turned. They were all moving forward in their mission. It was slow, but there was definite progress.
