Shivaay was shocked that Raghav knew Anika.

S- you know Anika?

R- Of course I would know her. I'm her gynaecologist. Didn't Mallika informed you about it? I thought she was about to surprise you on your birthday, which is today. That's why we're here. We were on a vacation to Paris but a week ago, Mallika instructed us to be here when she tells you the big news.

Shivaay was shocked About the revelation. Raghav knew about Anika. He was his and Abhay's common friend. Did Mallika knew about the baby and Abhay's affair to Anika? What was going on? Why was Raghav so happy to see Anika? These questions were making his head spin.

R- Shivaay, are you alright?

Shivaay came out of his thoughts and looked at Raghav and nodded his head.

S- Can we talk alone?

Raghav understood that something was wrong so he simply nodded his head.

Anika was confused with all this. Who was Mallika? Why was Shivaay so shocked when he got to know that Raghav was her gynaecologist? Being her husband, he must have been aware of it. What's going on? Was Mallika his girlfriend? That's why he hated her? Did she come in between them?

She was lost in her thoughts when Taai shook her and asked her to sit down on the couch. She looked around and Shivaay and Raghav were nowhere to be seen and Maya & Kiaan were smiling at her. She also smiled back.

Shivaay and Raghav went to his study room to talk.

R- What's going on, Shivaay? What's wrong? If you didn't knew about Anika then why is she here? Where is Mallika and Abhay?

Shivaay looked at him with teary eyes.

S- Mallika committed suicide.

And he started narrating everything which happened after Mallika's death. After listening to the whole thing, Raghav was silent for a while then he planted a tight slap on Shivaay's face. Shivaay was shocked that his best friend slapped him.

R- Do you have any idea that what sin you've commited? You punished an innocent girl who isn't even aware of her mistake which she never committed. I thought that you always investigated before reaching a decision but in this case 'you assumed'. Really Shivaay?

S- What are you talking about? Isn't she the culprit? Isn't she the one who is carrying Abhay's child? Why is she innocent? My sister committed Suicide because of her.

Shivaay said and Raghav glared at him angrily.

R- No she isn't the culprit. Noone is the culprit here except you. Yes she was carrying Abhay's child but you don't know the reason behind it because you 'assumed'. And Mallika committed Suicide because she was weak. Emotionally and mentally weak. She always looked at you for support before her wedding and when she met Abhay, she was always dependent on him and when he died, she thought that committing suicide was the best way to end her miseries. She didn't even cared about her unborn baby before taking that step.

Shivaay looked at Raghav in shock.

S- Her baby?

R- Yes, the baby which Anika is carrying is Abhay and Mallika's. They were the parents of that baby. Anika was just a surrogate.

S- What?

Shivaay was shocked would be an understatement.

R- Let me start from the beginning. Abhay and Mallika were trying for the baby but Mallika was suffering from cervical insufficiency which means her uterus was weak and she couldn't become a mother. If miraculously, she would have conceived so it would have been a life and death situation. Mallika was really unhappy about this. She even tried to commit suicide then because she thought that she wasn't able to give this happiness to Abhay but Abhay saved her on time. That day Abhay talked to me and said if there was any other way and I suggested surrogacy to them.

Shivaay was too shocked. His sister tried to commit suicide before too.

R- Anika was Abhay's personal assistant. She was like a sister to him. She was an orphan and Abhay saved her orphanage and gave her job so she thought she owed something to him so when he told her about this surrogacy, she immediately volunteered. We conducted tests on her and everything was perfect. We did the procedure and Mallika thought that it will be good if they wait till five months when there will be no chances of miscarriage before they tell you and it will be your birthday surprise as well. She was really happy about this. She also loved Anika as her sister and she loved the Baby so much but I think her love for Abhay overpowered her love for her unborn baby.

Raghav said sternly and Shivaay slumped down on the floor after listening to the truth. His knees weren't supporting him anymore. He did such a big mistake. He spoiled an inncocent girl's life by just assuming things.

Raghav smiled sadly at him.

R- Happy Birthday, Shivaay. I guess I gifted you the truth today. I'm sorry buddy.

He said sadly and left the room.

Shivaay started crying. He let out every emotion he felt in that moment.

It was 9pm in the night but still there was no trace of Shivaay. He was still locked in his room. Raghav and Maya left to their home after waiting for Shivaay for a while.

It was 9:30 pm when Shivaay finally came out of his room.

He wanted to talk to Anika so badly. He wanted to apologise to her for every sin he did. He started looking for her everywhere but she was nowhere to he found.

He was huffing tiredly when he reached dining area.

He looked at Taai who was looking at him in shock after seeing his red blood shot eyes.

S- Where is Anika?

But Taai didn't reply and a lone tear escaped his eyes.
