4 MONTHS LATER

It was 9th month of Anika's pregnancy. Since last four months, Shivaay didn't allow her to step down from the bed. He was always by her side. He also took leave from his office and settled to work from home.

In the span of these four months, Shivaay and Anika grew very close to each other. Anika finally started falling for Shivaay while Shivaay was trying to hide his feelings towards her as always. Anika knew that he loved her or atleast liked her but as taai told her that he was a tough nut to crack.

It was midnight. Shivaay was sleeping peacefully while Anika was twisting in discomfort. She finally sat up on the bed and looked at Shivaay who was sleeping peacefully. She groaned in frustration.

She shook him to wake him up.

A- Shivaay! Get up.

Shivaay woke up with a startle. He immediately palmed her baby bump and caressed it.

S- what happened? Are you fine? Is the baby fine?

Anika rolled her eyes at his overprotectiveness.

A- We're fine but baby wants chocolate icecream with cherry and we want to go out and eat.

S- Anika, but you can't go out. It's not safe for you or baby.

Shivaay said worriedly and Anika made a puppy face.

A- Please Shivaay. I'll be careful and you will be there with me. Please. I'm fed up by sitting in the same room since last 4 months.

Anika started crying and Shivaay felt bad for her.

S- Okay! Okay, stop crying. We'll go out and eat ice cream but you have to be super careful. Okay?

Shivaay said while hugging her and she hugged him back.

A- Okay. Pinky promise.

She entwined her pinky finger with his and Shivaay Smiled.

Shivaay dressed up in his t-shirt and track pants and walked towards Anika.

A- Let's go.

Anika said while clapping like a child in excitement and Shivaay chuckled.

Shivaay bent towards Anika a little and picked her up in his arms and Anika gasped in shock.

A- What are you doing?

S- I said that I'll take you out but I never said that I'll let you walk.

Shivaay said with a smirk and Anika felt a little flutter in her heart.

A- But I'm heavy. You'll get tired if you carry me like this.

S- Doesn't matter. It's just you and my baby. Now buckle up.

Shivaay said and Anika wrapped her arms around his neck with a slight chuckle. They headed towards their car and drove to the ice-cream parlour which was open 24×7 as Shivaay bought it for Anika as she craved for icecream at odd hours of the night like now.

Shivaay unlocked the store and took a tub of chocolate ice-cream and sprinkled some cherry on it and gave it to Anika.

Anika smiled at him and started eating icecream fondly.

S- Chocolate icecream was mallika's favourite.

Shivaay said out of nowhere and Anika stopped eating and looked at him.

His eyes got filled with tears. Anika held his hand and rested it on her baby bump.

A- She's right here.

Shivaay nodded his head.

A- Mallika was the sweetest soul I know. She was so Caring and loving.

Anika said softly and Shivaay nodded his head and then he frowned in Confusion.

S- But how do you remember her?

Shivaay asked her in shock and Anika's eyes also widened in surprise.

A- I think I'm getting my memory back little by little.

Anika said and Shivaay Smiled widely.

S- That's great. I'm so happy for you.

Shivaay said while pecking her forehead.

After finishing the ice-cream, as soon as she stood up, she felt a liquid running down her legs and her eyes widened in horror.

A- Shivaay?

Shivaay turned to look at her.

S- What happened?

A- I think the baby liked the ice cream so much that now it wants to come out.

Anika said and Shivaay looked at her in Confusion.

S- What?

He then noticed the liquid puddle on the floor.

A- My water just broke.

S- Oh Sh*t! What do I do?

He said frantically and Anika calmed him down.

A- Shivaay, calm down. Just take me to the hospital and we'll be fine.okay?

Anika told him and he nodded his head. He immediately picked her up in his arms and made her sit in the back seat of the car.

Soon they drove towards the hospital and all the while Anika was screaming in pain.

As soon as they reached hospital, Anika was admitted in the Labor room and Shivaay called Taai to come along with Anika's delivery bag.

Its been a few hours and the baby was yet to be delivered.

Shivaay was pacing around worriedly. Taai was consoling him.

After few more hours, a baby's cry was heard and Shivaay sighed in relief.

A nurse came out with a baby wrapped in a yellow blanket. She handed over the baby to Shivaay.

N- Congratulations, its a girl.

Shivaay held his baby girl in his arms aa tears were flowing from his eyes. He then looked at the nurse and asked-

S- And my wife?

N- She's fine. Just a little tired after delivery. You can meet her after we shift her to the ward.

Nurse explained and Shivaay nodded his head. Nurse took the baby from him and took her to baby nursery for her post birth checkup.

After few minutes, Anika was shifted to a private ward. Shivaay entered the ward and saw Anika lying on the bed with closed eyes while the baby was sleeping peacefully.

He walked towards the bed and pecked Anika's forehead. Anika slowly opened her eyes and gave him a weak smile.

A- Baby?

S- It's our girl.

Shivaay said while pointing towards the cot and Anika's eyes got filled with tears.

Shivaay stood up and picked up the baby in his arms and made her lie beside Anika.

Anika smiled and gently caressed baby's soft and chubby cheeks.

S- Have you thought of any name for her?

Shivaay asked Anika and Anika nodded her head.

A- She's our Vanya. Mallika wanted to name her daughter as Vanya.

Anika said with a smile and Shivaay looked at her in surprise. His eyes got filled with tears and Anika held his hand.

A- Mallika deserved this. You deserve this. We deserve this.

Anika said with teary eyes and Shivaay nodded his head.

S- Thank you.

Shivaay thanked her but Anika shook her head in negative.

A- Please don't make me a stranger. We're a family, right?

Anika asked him and Shivaay Smiled.

S- Yes. We're a family.

He hugged Anika and Vanya clutched Shivaay and Anika's finger in her each hand and Shivika chuckled.

"They were finally happy but every Rose has a thorn."
