Narrator:Nikolai has met Modernia after his date with Neon, let's see what they talk about.

Modernia:"My name is Modernia. It's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance."

Nikolai:"Nice to meet you too."

Nikolai(mind):What kind of name is 'Modernia'?!

Modernia:"Thy have any other questions for me?"

Nikolai:"Uh...I guess why are you talking like that?"

Modernia:"Oh, my speech has been merely adopted from one of my caretakers."

Nikolai:"Caretakers?"

Nikolai(mind):I'm guess she means that she started to talk similarly to the person who took care of her...wait, something's off.

Nikolai:"Wasn't commander Y/N your caretaker? He never talked like that."

Modernia:"Oh, the commander isn't the caretaker I'm taking about. She is someone else entirely."

Nikolai(mind):She?! I swear, the more answers she gives me, the more questions I end up getting.

Nikolai:"Ok, so the commander didn't take care of you?"

Modernia:"Like I said, it's complicated."

Nikolai(mind):No kidding...

Nikolai:"Ok, so...are you a Nikke?"

Modernia:"I am a certain type of Nikke, called a Heretic."

Nikolai(mind):That doesn't sound like a good-guy name.

Nikolai:"What are Heretics?"

Modernia:"Myself, and my caretakers are Nikke who have abandoned the Ark, and stay on the surface."

Nikolai:"Wait, what?!"

Nikolai(mind):Nikkes who live on the surface?! How is that possible?! The Nikkes abandoned the Ark? Why would they-

*Nikolai thought back to how Nikkes are treated in the Ark*

Nikolai:"So it wasn't by choice, was it?"

Modernia:"Huh?"

Nikolai(mind):Now that I think about it, back when I first came to the surface...if Rapi wanted to, she would've become a heretic if I wasn't there.

Nikolai:"You were forced out of the Ark, right?"

Modernia:"Indeed, myself and my caretakers were forced to become heretics, and there are many others who have suffered the same fate."

Nikolai:"I...I'm sorry."

Modernia:"I appreciate thy sympathy, but you shouldn't worry about us."

Nikolai:"But...you are different from the Nikkes I know. You must be one of a kind."

Modernia:"Correct, I was and still am one of a kind. However, being special is not always good."

Nikolai:"What do you mean?"

Modernia:"My special technology, and overwhelming strength caused fearful people to go after my commander and the Counters. They had no choice, but to take me to my caretakers."

Nikolai:"I see."

Nikolai(mind):I think I'm starting to understand her now. So commander Y/N and the Counters squad didn't want her to get taken away and used as a weapon, so they took her to the surface where she would be safe.

Nikolai:"People can be very scary, especially when it comes to things they don't understand."

Modernia:"Precisely. However, it's strange."

Nikolai:"Huh?"

Modernia:"Thy possesses very little knowledge of us, yet thy doesn't react the same way as the others do."

Nikolai:"Well, I guess it's because I'm just lucky. I've just always had the mindset of if it looks human, treat it like a human."

Modernia:"I don't look like an average human though."

Nikolai:"But you have skin, eyes, ears, and many other aspects of a human. Therefore, in my eyes, you're a human."

Modernia:"I think I understand. Thy simplest knowledge is enough to show compassion for us Nikkes because we look human."

Nikolai:"Uh...that's right, I guess."

Nikolai(mind):Did she just call me dumb?

Modernia:"Nevertheless, I assume thy aren't the only human to believe that."

Nikolai:"Surprisingly, I think I am the only human who thinks like that anymore."

Modernia:"Anymore, I see."

*Modernia turns away from Nikolai, and looks at the sky*

Modernia:"The night sky is truly lovely tonight."

Nikolai:"Yeah, feels much different from the Ark."

Modernia:"Why does thy feel envious?"

Nikolai:"Well, because humanity has access to the surface, yet can't enjoy even the simplest parts of it."

Modernia:"So thy wants to enjoy the surface?"

Nikolai:"Yeah, I believe that the surface can become enjoyable to everyone."

Modernia:"I see, thy has become a strange one in my eyes. Thy sounds more childish than my commander."

Nikolai:"Huh?"

Nikolai(mind):Now she's just making fun of me.

Modernia:"I have a question for thy."

Nikolai:"Yeah? What is it?"

Modernia:"Are thy willing to take a comrades life if they were to betray humanity?"

Nikolai:"What? No, why would I?"

Modernia:"No hesitation. Thy survival must be last priority. Why would you let them live?"

Nikolai:"Well, they haven't betrayed me exactly. Plus, I don't want anyone that's my friend dying."

Modernia:"Thy will learn that this world is unforgiving towards the selfless and caring."

Nikolai:"Well, my life could be much worse..."

*Modernia smiles at Nikolai*

Modernia:"I must leave now, it was a pleasure to meet you."

Nikolai:"Oh, it was nice to meet you too."

*Modernia jumps up, and leaves Nikolai*

Nikolai(mind):Modernia, the Heretics, and even commander Y/N. I'm learning some stuff I feel like I shouldn't be. I'll probably have to keep this a secret to myself.

*Nikolai heads back inside, and heads to his dorm to sleep. The next morning, Nikolai went through his morning routine when he was called from his dorm into Andersen's office*

Andersen:"Commander Nikolai, report to the deputy chief's office immediately."

Nikolai:"Huh? What's going on?"

*Nikolai heads towards Andersen's office*

Nikolai:"You wanted to see me?"

Andersen:"Ah, commander Nikolai. You have been assigned another mission."

Nikolai(mind):Huh...it's been a while since my previous one.

Nikolai:"What is it exactly?"

Andersen:"You're getting assigned with Elysion's best squad to retrieve some classified information."

Nikolai:"Elysion's best squad? It's been a while since I've met them."

Nikolai(mind):The shy girl, the caring mother figure, and the meanie. I think they were called the Absolute.

Andersen:"You must report to Ingrid when you're ready."

Nikolai:"Roger that."

*Nikolai left Andersen's office*

Nikolai(mind):Another mission, this time to look for classified info. I'm starting to feel somewhat of a soldier again. Oh well, I just hope I get along with Absolute during the mission.

*Nikolai headed to Elysion's HQ*
