Narrator:Nikolai is currently ready for his date with Neon. Let's see how it goes for him.

*Nikolai waits for Neon to meet with him at the location she requested*

Nikolai(mind):Hmm...I get having dates at restaurants because it's romantic, but...

*Nikolai heard a gunshot, and looked over to see someone shooting a can*

Nikolai(mind):Why am I at a shooting range?! (America moment)

Nikolai:"This isn't where we're having our date, right?"

Neon:"Master Nikolai!"

*He turned and saw Neon in a different outfit than usual*

Nikolai(mind):Aww...she's looks so cute in that outfit.

Neon:"Master Nikolai. Are you ready?"

Nikolai:"Ready for what?"

Neon:"To test some firepower, obviously!"

Nikolai:"Uh...I thought only Nikkes can carry guns."

Neon:"Oh, these aren't guns for Nikke."

Nikolai:"Then why are they here?!" (Because America moment)

Neon:"This is the only place that allows human-use of guns. I wanna see you shoot guns with me!"

*Nikolai can see sparkles in Neon's eyes*

Nikolai:"O-Ok, fine. Let's do it then."

Nikolai(mind):I've never shot a gun before, I don't think I'm going to do good. But when she's this excited about it, I can't say no.

*Nikolai and Neon entered the shooting area, and started shooting guns* (God damn 'MURICA moment)

Nikolai:"Ok, I think that's all I can do now."

Nikolai(mind):My arms feel like they're about to give out.

Neon:"Hmm...alright then. We've been here for a couple hours, so I'll allow it."

Nikolai(mind):It's already nighttime?!

Neon:"Now then, I have one more thing for us to do."

Nikolai(mind):Please don't let it be related to  guns...

*Neon grabbed Nikolai by his hand, and ran towards the elevator*

Nikolai(mind):The elevator that reaches to the surface? Why would she bring me here?

Neon:"We're here."

Nikolai:"Here? Are you taking me up to the surface or-"

Neon:"Nope, just inside the elevator. There's something cool I wanna do with you."

Nikolai:"Huh?"

Nikolai(mind):Something cool in the elevator? What could be cool about an elevator?

*Neon and Nikolai walk into the elevator, and the door closes behind them. As the elevator moves up, Neon takes a deep breath*

Neon:"FIREPOWER!!!"

Nikolai(mind):Ow! My ears!

Nikolai:"What was that all about?!"

Neon:"I love firepower, more than anything. Getting to shout it in an echoey place where nobody will yell at me or think I'm weird makes it feel special to me."

Nikolai:"Just shouting firepower?"

Neon:"Exactly."

Nikolai(mind):That quite a weird thing to care about, but I guess Neon has always been weird to begin with.

Nikolai:"Fine then."

*Nikolai takes a deep breath*

Nikolai:"FIREPOWER!!!"

Neon:"Master Nikolai..."

Nikolai:"If it's important to you, then it's important to me."

Neon:*Sniff* "...Right! Let's shout firepower together!"

*Nikolai and Neon spent a whole trip up and down the elevator shout 'firepower' as loud as they could. When the elevator finally reached back down to the ground, they were both silent as they exited the elevator*

Neon:"Thanks again, master Nikolai. Your love for firepower is truly admirable."

Nikolai:"Glad I could be of service."

Nikolai(mind):My voice hurts now though, but for Neon, I could care less.

Nikolai:"Hey, Neon?"

Neon:"Hmm? What?"

Nikolai:"If you ever need to shout firepower as loud as you can, you can always come to my dorm. I won't yell at you or think that you're weird."

Neon:"Thank you very much, Nikolai."

*They walked towards the Nikke dorms, and Neon hugged Nikolai before she entered her room*

Nikolai(mind):Well, I'd say that my date with Neon was successful. I better start heading home now.

*Nikolai started walking back to his dorm, when he passed by the elevator again*

Nikolai(mind):I wonder...would it be ok to yell firepower on the surface.

Nikolai:"It'll be a quick trip, in-and-out."

*Nikolai entered the elevator, and it went up to the surface. As soon as Nikolai went outside the elevator, he took a deep breath*

Nikolai:"Firepow-" *Cough* *Cough* "Ugh, my throat still hurts."

*Nikolai looked up at the starry sky, all of his surroundings felt so vibrant. The night breeze brushing against the grass, with a large full moon that Nikolai had never seen before*

Nikolai(mind):After coming to the surface, I'm realizing now that everything in the Ark is fake. The grass, the wind, even the sky is fake inside the Ark. Without all the raptures running around, the surface is a much better place than the Ark.

Nikolai:"I can't blame the Ark for all that stuff though. If it wasn't for their technological illusions, humanity would be stuck in a bland bunker."

*Nikolai then heard footsteps approaching him*

Nikolai(mind):Shoot, I've got to hide.

???:"Thy mustn't need to conceal thyself in such a luscious environment."

Nikolai:"Huh? Who's there?"

???:"I could hear Neon's shouts earlier today. Therefore, I had to see for myself whom she was taking to."

Nikolai:"Uh...that would be me, and how do you know Neon."

???:"We were old comrades. Her, Anis, Rapi, and of course...the commander."

Nikolai:"Commander? You mean Y/N?"

???:"Correct. You know of him?"

Nikolai:"Yeah, many people have been comparing me to 'how he use to be'. Are you saying that you were part of Counters squad?"

???:"Precisely, but our history is complicated to say the least."

Nikolai(mind):Complicated? Wait, who am I even talking to?

Nikolai:"What's your name?"

???:"Why, forgive my rudeness. I will gladly share my name once I meet thy face."

Nikolai(mind):The fancy talk is sort of throwing me off.

*Nikolai walked back into the open, and saw a girl with long silver hair and red eyes standing before him*

Nikolai(mind):Whoa, I can just see that this girl's powerful. Are those wings?!

Nikolai:"Pleasure to meet you. I'm Nikolai, a rookie commander working for the Ark."

???:"Nikolai, I see. My name is Modernia. It's a pleasure to meet your acquaintance."

Hey bros, it's me, the author. Oh boy, I honestly didn't think I'd be introducing Modernia so soon in the story, but I guess I'm just gonna go for it. Also if anyone who has played the game and are wondering why Modernia talks like that, you clearly haven't finished the 'first affection' event story, where she talks like that in the very last scene. I'm honestly glad that she changed the way she talked, I didn't want to have speak like a infant anymore. Anyway, in-game wise, I'm currently enjoying the hell out of the Neir Automata event.
