Chapter 1

The young black haired boy found himself standing alongside his sister, and three other students.

Two of them were twins. Both had blue eyes and blonde hair, and it could have been almost impossible to tell between the two, if not for the girl having a white bow tie on her hair. The other one is also a girl, with light brown hair and brown eyes. The girl also wore a pair of glasses, which reminded Hiyoku of his younger days when he wore such an accessory.

He wore contact lenses now, so. . . .

"Ah, are you all here already?" An older male said out from behind the desk, leaning against his chair.

The man had dark purple hair that was kept in a ponytail, had dark green eyes, which seemed to show experience in the field of knowledge.

"Hey, wazzup everybody!!"

. . . . . . . Or the field of stupidity, or childishness.

Either one of the three works.

"Uhhh, that's not what we expected," the blonde boy said out to the older male in front of him.

"Eh? Oh, hahahah," the male replied, smiling softly.

"Well, I'm very sorry then. I am very inexperienced in being a principal of this fine school," the male continued. Hiyoku kept calm, but his thoughts were entirely different.

'What in the absolute flush?? He's inexperienced?!!' He thought, restraining himself from cursing internally.

Fam, we gotta get this book family friendly, okay?

"Hehe. Yeah, Gramps died suddenly last week, so I had no choice but to take over, y'know," the male replied.

"No choice?" Hiku asked.

"Yep."

"Why do I feel unconvinced?" The brunette asked, before the male shrugged it off with a laugh.

"Anyway, Gramps had already assigned you five to your classes, but while we're at it, why don't you introduce yourself to each other?" The acting principal asked.

"Fair enough," Hiku replied soon after.

"Name's Hiku Kagure. He's my twin brother--"

"Younger than her by 5 minutes," Hiyoku chimed.

"Weird flex but okay," the blonde boy replied.

"Hiyoku. . . ." Hiku emitted a sadist's aura.

"Eheheh. Sorry, Hiku," Hiyoku apologised, before Hiku looked back at the three.

'She's scary,' the twins and Hiyoku thought.

'She seems friendly,' the brunette thought otherwise.

"How about you three?" Hiku asked, before her eyes glide towards the brunette, who blushed slightly and looked away.

"I-I'm Akira Yuki. Nice to meet you," the brunette replied, as she looked back to Hiku and bowed down.

"Nice meeting you. You two?" Hiku asked, now looking at the twins.

"I'm Akuma--"

"And I'm Mika," the blonde girl cut the male off. As much as the male wanted to slap the girl, he kept his anger in check, as he took a deep breath.

"Okay, introductions done. Hope you five be friends with each other, 'kay?" The purple haired man asked.

"If we have a shared interest, then maybe," Hiyoku replied soon after.

"Okay, off to class you go. Hiyoku Kagure, right? You go to Class 3-A," the man told him.

"Why? Is he smart?" Akuma chimed.

"What, no. Classes here doesn't care if you're smart or not. We just place you wherever we want. At least, that's what Gramps tend to do when new students come."

"What was that?"

"Oh nothing. Akuma, you're also going with Hiyoku."

"Fair enough."

"Now, you three will be at Class 3-C. They have a lack of girls there, and you three are the equalizer."

"Wait, you said you had total control of where you place the students. Why do you have a class that's chock full of boys than girls and not equal?" Hiku asked.

"Irrelevant. Now chop chop to your class. Don't wanna be late."

"But it's 7:10--"

"Shhhhhhh. Just go."

. . . . . . . .

"Man, the principal's weird," Akuma admitted to Hiyoku, who nodded in agreement. They were searching for their classroom.

"Say, I have a random question to ask you."

"Sure. Ask me anything."

"Are you accustomed to the card game, Cardfight Vanguard?"

"Well. . . . Yeah. That thing's Bushiroad's most successful trading card game. Who wouldn't know it?"

"Normies?"

"I--"

Hiyoku went silent, dumbfounded by the blonde male's blunt answer.

"What clan do you play?"

That made Hiyoku even more dumbfounded, as Akuma casually asked another question.

"I'll let you guess," Hiyoku replied slowly, just as they saw a sign with the  words 'Class 2-A'.

And I'm ending it there.

First off, very sorry that the starting here was boring and had zero Cardfights. I'm not really the best when it comes to making cardfights interesting.

My history of typing cardfights for stories are a very iffy.

And it was short too, not reaching the 1000 word mark.

Due to lack of ideas.

If you have any ideas to advance the plot, please comment.

And with that, thanks for reading the first chapter.
