masterpieces

because dripping-sarcasm wanted to see my artworks. btw, most of them are copies of big artist people, and all of them were for art homework. i chose the best ones (whatever that amounts to).

dedicated to x_A_Bookish_Brit_x , because she is incredible.

so you're looking for a masterpiece,
you tell me, during a physics
lesson, third period.

they say a picture
is worth a thousand words,
and darling,
your words are like brushstrokes
against sad grey mornings,
when the colour is faded
and the pens run dry.

your broken pencil fingers
are clumsy, expressive,
and your skin is ink-stained,
heavy with tangled biro lines.

your watercolour eyes
make me itch to scribble poems
in the back of a physic's book,
third period (tired and not
quite hungry yet),
and that's when you become
my refuge.

there is something in the way
you hold a brush, so tight
and still, that makes me wonder
whether it comes from
force of mind or general lack of control.
either way, the focus makes
my spine quiver and
skin buzz softly.

i hope that one day, either your
words will be printed carefully
between book pages, or your smile
will be remembered
on a canvas,
hanging in a gallery,
and although you cannot speak,
your smile says it all.

i don't know whether i am making
much sense - i do tend to
ramble on in abstract manners,
which can be a little difficult
to follow -
but let me make it more clear:

if you are looking for a masterpiece,
you need only look in the mirror.
