Chapter 23: The Pain Will Never Leave
SKY'S P.O.V.:
I was terrified of everything that reminded me of the battle. Of the Labyrinth.
If this was what pain and terror felt like, then I couldn't handle it. I really couldn't.
I was able to finally go to James' house again, and I was actually glad about it.
Maybe it'd take away part of the pain. Maybe, just maybe.

I sat on the couch, trembling in fear. My knees were pulled up to my chest, and I rocked back and forth like an antique rocking horse.
The reason that I was in a terrified trance at the moment was because I was because of the book sitting on the table in front of me at the Potter household.
The book was "The Maze Runner" and just the title was making me go mad with fear. It didn't help that next to it was a miniature maze-model of stupid Legos that someone built.
I couldn't handle it right now. I felt tears prickle my eyes and it made my vision blurry. The only thing that I could hear was the echoes of the souls that were trapped in the big and deadly maze.
They had told me to give up; to let myself rot down there and never see the light of day again.
I wanted to listen to them, but I knew that they needed to be stopped. So I had reluctantly ignored them for the time being.
"Sky?" a voice softly said, letting me know they were there.
The speaker tapped me on the shoulder and I replied to them by shocking them.
"Ow!"
Before I knew it, I was suddenly reminded that I was out of the maze. Snapping out of my trance, I looked behind me to see who had tapped me. It was James.
"Sorry," I sincerely apologized. "For zapping you."
"It's alright. How are you?"
"Horrible. They all say.... People say that it must be fun to go in there.... It's not.... You're trapped in there like a mouse in a cage. If you come out of there sane, then you're one of the lucky ones."
"Let's change the topic," he said.
"No," I interrupted. "I want to talk to you about it."
He nodded.
"James.... The pain will never leave...."
