The "F*cked Up Timeline"

"Kara," my hands are on her shoulders. She is frozen in place her eyes glued to the spot where the men were standing. "Kara listen to me your okay."

Her gaze seemed to focus slightly, "oh God". Cupping her face with my hands I nudge her chin urging her to look at me. "We are okay," she is scared. As if she hasn't used her powers.

Her emotional wall falls as she lets herself collapse in my arms. Looking around I again question why our response was slowed and fearing another attack I pick her up in my arms.

Her steel body relaxes as she trusts me. "Well I have a secret too," her head curls into my neck. I then run. I run to my house. Thankfully my speed is just slow enough that our clothing doesn't catch fire.

Siting her on my counter I open my fridge and take out the five pizza boxes I put in there. "Here," I hand her one of the boxes, "you need energy."

I open up another pizza as she begins to inhale hers.

───✧❅✦❅✧───

Kara after finishing three of the five boxes (leaving me only 2) begins to tell me of her past.

"I was born on a planet called Krypton... my planet was" I listen to her explanation of her past as if it was the first time. In truth it felt like the first time. It felt different. She is different.

Her hands grip the counter tight as her legs swing slightly against the counter, "I was supposed to protect him,  but some how I am here, years before him." Her eyes catch mine conveying her fear. "He is a baby," tears fill her eyes but do not fall.

"A baby who is from another planet and he could arrive years after my death. He will be all alone like, like-" she bites her lip as she looks up fighting the onslaught of tears. "He will be fine. No matter what time he comes he will be fine," I promise her thinking of Supergirl's Superman.

Nodding she wipes under her eyes, "when I came here I was all alone. After I realized my cousin wasn't here I began to notice differences in my self."

"I have speed, strength, and a million other things that make me stand out. It took awhile," She gulps, "for me to get adapted. Family's wouldn't adopt me especially after the incident with the Danvers...only their little boy, Jeremiah, survived. So I hid my abilities and haven't used them since tonight."

Again she gives me that look that guys fail to translate and her heart speeds up. "And your the Flash." Nodding I run my hand through my hair thinking.

When I began to think of a plan to track down those men Kara's hands are pulling me toward her. Her legs to the side I lean against the counter.

"Can you teach me?" One of her hands is clutching mine and the other on my shoulder. She leans her head down her lips slightly parted.

I feel the natural instinct to tilt my head slightly and capture her lips with mine. She stays perfectly still as we both study each other's movements. "You want to use your powers?" I force my mouth to open, but am unable to move away from her.

"Yes. I'm tired of hiding. I went in to science to explain what happened to my body and the changes, but then it turned into a way of defending the people of Earth with out my powers. But you Barry you use your powers for the good."

My mind blanks out towards the end because her hand that was resting on my shoulder is now tracing lines up and down my neck and her tongue had darted out mid sentence to clean her lip of pizza sauce. "Yes," I some how manage to choke out, "I'll teach you."

Removing her hands from my hand and neck she places them on my chest and pushes me slightly. Her strength is restrained but still makes me loose my balance for a moment.

She chuckles as she hops of the counter.  "Thank you," She gives me a small smile as she throws away her empty pizza boxes. "Your welcome though next time we are splitting the third one."

She laughs a lightheaded laugh that reaches her blue eyes causing my stomach to feel weird.  "I meant for tonight," her head leans to the side as she examines me, "it was liberating and I feel as if its the turn of a chapter."

She walks to the door, "Let me walk you home." "Barry, I can shoot lasers out of my eyes and basically turn into steel I think I'm okay walking home by myself."

I nod despite the desire to walk her home and extend our time together. "Can I ask one thing?" She turns her back to the door and arches an eyebrow.

"Why did you pretend not to like me?" Her lips are once more drawn into a smile as she tells me, "you may be the Flash Barry Allen but you are just as naive and slow as all the rest of the boys."

───✧❅✦❅✧───

I have decided to gather my friends and family. I need to tell them of my mistake and the effects if they so wish.

Original team Flash plus Harry begins the gathering in the cortex followed by the Wests. The only person absent is the one I can't yet bare to see the look of disgust on her face.

"Barry," Joe looks at his watch as a yawn interrupts his musing, "it's 7am what's this about?" Looking around at my family my heart breaks as they all show signs of peace and Caitlin worry for what I'm thinking.

"Umm," I lick my lips as I try to calm my racing heart. I think of last night and how my body reacted to Kara. However wrong it is I am attracted to her and hopelessly in l-"I can't lie to any of you. You are all family and I can't lie to family."

"What's this about?" Cisco places a hand on the table. Everyone is facing me. "A few days ago I changed the timeline." I try not to watch their faces but I see the recognition of what I have done on Caitlin's features.

Cisco's mind begins to calculate, "I saved my mom," and then he explodes. "You did what!" Cisco demands. Harrison's hands slaps with a loud echo on the table causing Joe and Iris to jump.

"You," Joe's chokes, "saved your mom?" "How!" Iris concludes. "I'll tell you how," Harrison walks toward me like a father wanting to beat his son, "he ran back in time and fucked the timeline!"

"What changed Barry?" Caitlin's voice cuts through all the chaos yet her tone is as soft as snow. My eyes capture hers and she reads my mind like a book. "I-" Joe interrupts, "How?"

Cisco gladly taking the excuse to give him more time to process and to shut me up he begins explaining the time line and how I ran back but when I returned to the present it wasn't really the present.

"I will tell you all the changes that happened if you want to know." At that moment we are interrupted by Cisco's meta human alert system. "Time to suit up," Cisco doesn't look at me with hatred but like Caitlin concern.

Turning to Caitlin I tell her, "Suit up with me." Her eyes open in disbelief. "I-I can't." Her eyes go down to her hands. "You can. You are Dr. Caitlin Snow and you have powers. This world needs more people like us on our side."

Her panic is still present but her eyes soften. "I don't even have a suit!" She looks helplessly at Cisco but what she is met with is a sly smile. Cisco coughs, "Yah you do."

───✧❅✦❅✧───

"What if this goes wrong?" Caitlin asks as my feet move us to a stop.  "What if I can't control her?" I turn to one of my best friends. "You and her are the same. Caitlin you are a Dr. You save people. You saved me. You can do this."

At that I push away from the building and into the street. I give her a reassuring smile as we both advance on the latest metahuman. "What the-" her words copy my thoughts. "Are you seeing this?" I ask Cisco.

"Oh my Godzilla," his voice is heard only by Caitlin and I. Standing before us is a man in a black robe. Very Harry Potter esk.  But that wasn't what had original team Flash stunned. Standing in front of him is a portal.

It's fuzzy and clearly unstable but easily recognizable. "It's another universe." Caitlin steps forward feeling the arousing allure of the unknown. The man sensing our presence turns around. His black robe has a hood that covers his face.

"I like your new costume Killer Frost." His voice is muffled. It sounds like it is coming through an old radio yet it holds a certain power. "Killer Frost?" The name was new but it fit.

"Hey! I pick the names. Not cool not cool," Cisco whines. "Who are you? Severus Snape?" I ask the strange man. He stands at an intimidating height, his shoulders are quite broad, and he has perfect posture.

He laughs a deep yet lighthearted laugh. "My name doesn't matter. Look close FlashFrost. This world is about to change." Caitlin takes the stance of a boxer ready to throw a punch but in this case the punch is ice.

"We like our world just fine," Her voice cuts the air as she slowly morphs into her counterpart. For the first time I see the other her. Her hair turns white and her skin a beautiful pale. Ice forms on her hands and cold icy air forms at her lips as she speaks.

"I'm sure you do," he turns his head as he gazed into the portal. Cars are seen passing by along with people, "but you will love the new one even more." With his final word he disappears.

"Did he go through the portal?" Cisco asks as he watches both the strange man and the portal disappear. "No," I tell him. "He just dissolved," Caitlin, Killer Frost, finishes.

───✧❅✦❅✧───

Walking to work I push forward with a little extra pep. Despite not catching the weird meta I feel free. I told my family about my mistake and they don't hate me and there is a blond alien in my life.

"You seem happy," Kara states. She is standing in front of her desk reading some file. "How do you-?" She looks up at me. I can't help the involuntary shiver the runs through me as she examines me standing in the door way.

"Your heart is beating faster, you have a light hearted smile on your lips, and your shoulders are relaxed." Her eyes look over her glasses. "Might that have anything to do with your morning?" She crosses her arms the file still in her hand as she sits on the edge of her desk.

"Yah," my hand rubs the back of my neck, "he took us by surprise." She gives me a knowing smile, "Barry I don't expect to be put out in the field the first day. Calm down." She sets the file down. "Though it is sweet that you would worry about my reaction." Her smile has me cease breathing.

"What I was getting at was that you haven't had a meta since forever and you needed something. It's good." Getting off her desk she beckons me forward. "Look at this," she hands me the file.

"I think we might have a case." I open the file. In it are the Theia notes but behind is an image of this morning. "How did you get this?" She shrugs her shoulders, "I can fly and I'm good with a camera."

"You think they have a connection?" I study the picture. The man seemed unearthly. "I don't know," her eyebrows scrunch up as she examines her tidy desk, "I just feel it. I feel something coming. I know it sounds ridiculous but it's there Barry."

A light bulb goes off in my head, "Come with me." I reach for her hand with my free hand. "Where to?" She quickly grabs her coat and bag. "To meet the team."

───✧❅✦❅✧───

Harrison is spinning in the rolling chair. He hasn't said a word since I walked in with the blond trailing behind me. "So are we saying he's a meta?" Cisco bites his lip as he alternated from looking at Harrison with annoyance and looking appreciatively at Kara.

"It's logical," Caitlin agrees. "But not 100% sound," Kara interjects. "I know a guy who has opened a portal to a parallel universe and stepped through and he came back with an...object front the other universe."

Cisco looks up with intense interest. His gaze never rests on me. He is now study Kara's words instead of her beauty. "And he's not a meta?" His interest not focused on learning about his powers.

"No, most definitely not. He-" she try's to explain the man but her English seems to fail her. "Walter Bishop." Wells's voice is heard for the first time.

"Yes!" Kara can't help the smile that comes naturally with that name. "You know him?"

"I know of him," Harrison looks upon me with fatherly judgment, "What is the purpose of her being here Mr. Allen?"

Something tells me he knows. His gaze is drilling holes into me a questions my judgment and motives. "She wishes to join the team. She-" I look at her, "is qualified in her own way."

Nodding he accepts the answer for now, "I am from an alternate world, but I have a Walter Bishop of my world." He stops to see if her reaction is like that of the West's but she simply absorbs the information. "He is the only one I would say that matches my intelligence maybe even surpasses it," he mumbles the last bit.

Cisco coughs an exaggerated cough, "excuse me! Someone greater than the Great Dr Wells?!"

Harrison ignores the remarks, "so when I got to this earth I was eager to find if my fellow scientist had a dopplanger here."

"So we contact Dr. Bishop and ask him if he has shared his tech," Caitlin states the obvious plan of action. "No!" Both Kara and Harrison reply.

"Walter, Walter is extremely intelligent and kind but he must be handled with care. Bombarding him with questions of that part of his work wouldn't be productive. He would shut down." Kara turns to me.

"I know this new guy is dangerous and that I am not ready for the field, but you know what I can do and I have access to the man who can possibly help us defeat him." Her blue eyes lock with mine as she pleads. "Let me go with you."

"Okay," I turn to my team, "we are going to go talk to Dr. Bishop. I need all of you to stay alert for any other breaches." "I'm on it!" Cisco hops out of his chair and heads to his lap.

"I'll go over the footage and I have some work to do for Killer Frost. It was nice meeting you Kara. It will be nice to have a second girl on the team," she gives her a smile before leaving.

"Good luck." Harrison tells us before turning on his computer.

───✧❅✦❅✧───

"Where are we headed?" I turn to my forensic partner. I have my suit and the file she complied. "Cambridge Massachusetts. Harvard." She then turns to face me forcing us to stop in the hallway of STAR Labs.

"You are just going to go along with this? No questions?" Laughing I remember Harry's face at the mention of Dr. Bishop. "He must be utterly brilliant if Harrison admits that they are on the same level and I trust you. You say that you feel that there is a connection then there is. You say that Dr. Bishop might be able to help us then let's go. And he teaches at Harvard! And... this was kinda all my plan. You wanted training well I had hoped an opportunity would arise when I brought you here."

"Really," she rolls her eyes. "About the teacher at Harvard thing," she bites her lip as she again tries to explain the Dr. "He doesn't exactly work for the college. He used to but that was before he was institutionalized," her words speed up as she tries to defend her friend, "it was for the death of his intern but it wasn't his fault.

"Yes he has pushed the border of  science and crossed into Gods domain but he is different now. His son-Peter- he ah," I place my hands on her shoulders. "I am not a person to judge by someone's past."

"Let's go," I open my arms for her. "You know I can run too," She has a smirk on her lips as she steps into my hold. A blush flashes across my face as I quickly say, "we will need our energy."

───✧❅✦❅✧───

Harvard was buzzing with activity. Students being shoved into the world of adult hood flooded around us. Each captivated by their own little bubble of life. A few stopped and noticed our unfamiliar faces but most continued uninterrupted on their path of life.

"Come on," Kara pulls me past the majestic buildings. We enter what I assume to be the science department when we begin our decent to the basement. "Okay," I know Walter and Peter form my childhood. "Walter did experiments on children." She stops two doors away from a room that is lit.

"Children?" I can't stop the horrific images that flood my brain. She nods her head like a child accepting that their idol isn't perfect. "He never experimented on me but when I found out it was to late I was shipped or to another foster family.

"During that time of my life I was living with some," She looks up at the dusty ceiling, "abusive foster parents. Walter and his son were my safe haven. Peter kept me safe and Walter fed me. What I am trying to say," she looks me in the eyes, "is that we have a past and some of its not good. Most of Walters is terrible but Peter has helped him. I just want you to be prepared."

I take her hands that are wound tightly together and hold them to my chest. "I trust your judgement. Now let's go in and say hi."

Walking into the room I quickly realize it's a lab. The lab is fully equipped with everything a scientist could possibly dream of. The room is silent except the consistent buzz of electricity.

"Peter give me a licorice!" The voice I assume belongs to Dr. Walter Bishop commands his son. I follow Kara up the platform.

The site before us is quite disturbing yet hilarious. Dr. Bishop has his hands on a severed body (The other half not within eye site) as his son puts a licorice in his mouth. Dr. Bishop is an elderly man who wears his years with pride. When you see him you can easily label him a scientist who has seen his fair share of darkness.

On the platform stands both Bishops, Kara and I, and two women. One is white and blond and the other mixed with curly short black hair. The blond one carries herself like a cop and the other more like an assistant.

"Astrid!" Dr. Bishop commands the black haired assistant. Astrid hurries along with a licorice in one hand and an instrument in the other.

Kara is observing the chaos with the same wonder that is present in my eyes but their is no confusion in hers. "Kara!" Dr Bishop announces without lifting his gaze. Kara laughs a laugh so full of life that I feel my heart speed up.

All eyes float to us (except the Dr's). One set of eyes stays glued to Kara. That person being the Dr's son. "Kara!" Peter reaches his arms around my partners waist. He takes care not to touch his glove covered hands to her clothes, "it's been to long." There eyes meet in an awkward sort of way causing both of them to clear their throats and step backwards.

"They used to date," Dr. Bishop explains to the room. His comment is stated like an observation of the severed body before him. The blond cop on the platform hides a smirk. "Detective Olivia Dunham," she nods her head at us. "If I may how did you stumble upon us?"

I take this as my chance, "Barry Allen. Central City Criminal and Forensic Scientist. Kara is my partner and we have a case that may interest you Dr. Bishop."
