I say I don't, but I do
I've been searching so long for someone to understand, understand the pain I've had to deal with, on the outside I'm either energetic or neutral, on the inside I'm constantly in pain and suffering, it's rare to see a genuine smile on my face that doesn't fade in like three seconds. I say I don't want love when in reality I do. Which is why I'm a novelist, I write love stories, though I haven't sold any books yet and gave up on half of my projects. The love stories I write are usually in my point of view and based off of my little fantasies, and now this story is from my real point of view. (Disclaimer: This book is not in my point of view or real in any way, nor is it based off of real events in my life, however it may be related in some ways (e.g. classes, thoughts, feelings, etc.) I walk through the halls at the 'pace of the beat' so to speak, I love to listen to all kinds of music and such.
Let's start at my Junior year of highschool. Too bad my conscience won't let me just ditch everything and lie there in my thoughts. I tell myself I'm never going to find love, what it's like to be loved, when it comes to family I don't feel it, at all, much less any feeling related to it, I mean, I care for my family, but I couldn't say I love them, and that's a different kind of love than the kind I want anyway. 3rd hour.....history, what a pain, I hate History class, it's so boring. It's rare for anything relatively interesting to happen in that class, so as usual I just tune everything and everyone out and do my work for the class till the class ends.
I always try to find the emptiest desk/table possible, as in I find a seat furthest away from people and pick that one, what I didn't know that in one fateful moment my life would change, one new student to change everything, show me faith once more, how to hope again, how to feel anything other than pain. "Alright class, we have a new student joining us today." The instructor said. Sigh "What a bore." I quietly whispered to myself, "just tune everything out like always and you'll be fine." "Hello, my name is Crystal, pleasure to make your acquaintance." What a sweet sounding voice. I shook my head at that thought.
How did I fail to tune everything out just then? I lost myself to my thoughts again as I focused on my work. "Same processes, same tedious work, same everything, nothing new and exciting, it's all the same stupid stuff." I whispered to myself. It wasn't much longer before the bell rang. "And like usual we're going to end up with homework. What a pain, so damn tedious and pointless." I quietly whispered to myself again. Sure enough we did. 4th hour, lunch/study hall. I sat at an empty table like always, didn't bother to get anything. I just sat there, getting lost in thought once more, staring blankly, not even blinking. That was until someone tapped my shoulder.
I shook my head and saw who it was, "Do I know you?" I asked rudely. "No, b--" She said before I interrupted her, "then why are you disturbing me and wasting your time talking to me?" I asked. "Well, I only want to make friends, and you look lonely." She answered. I sighed. "Do what you want, it's not my problem." I said. "Ugh I really hate school, it's always the same regime, same tedious pattern all day every day, constantly, same dull life, same work, what a waste of my time." I accidentally said out loud. "You alright?" She asked. "What does it matter to you?" I asked. "I don't like to see people down and such, and you seem to be really down, and your aura tells me how sad you truly feel." She said.
"If you'd like to be friends I'd also like you to meet one of my best friends." She continued. "So even after my rude remarks you still want to be friends with a mon like me." I said, she stood silent. "Thank you..." I thanked her. "I usually push people away, mon either dislike me, or think of me as a freak, I've been alone for so long." I told her. She come over to me and hugged me. "You're welcome." She said and let go. "Let's go meet my friend." She said. I nodded and she lead me over to a flareon. "Hello there, my name is Flare." The flareon said, seeing us walk up to him. He held out his paw. "My name is Shadow." I said, shaking his paw.
We spent some time chatting, then we went through the rest of the school day. "C'mon since we're friends we might as well show you our hangout spot." Crystal said. "Sure." I said plainly. They brought me to a meadow in the woods. "Wow this is pretty." I said.
