Fan(dumb)
So... here's the te- *clears throat* I mean, coffee.
I belong to maaaany fandoms, personally. So that also means I love to meet people with the fandoms same as mine, right?
So whenever I see any of my fandom on someone's profile, or in real life I get to know the person belongs to my fandom, I get POSSESSED.
I'm not kidding.
I may scream or jump up and down... or do anything that resembles fatal. I'm pretty sure my friends would put a Disclaimer on me, which would say, 'WARNING. THE PERSON MIGHT SEEM NORMAL AT FIRST SIGHT, BUT DO NOT LET THE SIGHT FOOL YOU.'
Yeah, well that sums me up. Seriously.
Okay, so back to the point.
If I meet you and you tell me you like something I like, just cover your ears and you'll be fine.
Hopefully.
Okay, back to the freaking point!
So I meet many people on the way, some of them are hardcore fans like me... they rejoice with me and fangirl with me. We have long ass conversations and deep connection (of sort) and overall it's enjoyable.
Then there enters the second category of 'fans'.
The 'not-so-genuine' ones. And there are a couple of categories in that, too.
I'll explain, of course.
1. The 'Half-fans':
They are not fake, but they only have half the knowledge of what actually the whole thing is. The most common but famous example is the people who say, 'I haven't read the books. I only watch the movies because they're so great.'
And a very popular example in that is about Harry Potter. There is a mutual of mine who has watched the movies (that too, not in English!) and she proudly posts some things related to it. Now, I'm not against it or anything, but I really do NOT like it, period. Because I seriously don't like anyone flaunting something to show off. It's kinda like... what I FEEL for Harry Potter is definitely not what you would feel just by watching the movies!
Ugh! I get so frustrated by that, I swear.
• Another sub-point in that is related to manga/anime. There are fans who rely on the anime only and don't like it when they get spoiled by the manga readers. Again, if you don't want to read the manga, then don't, but don't complain when you get spoiled. *shrugs*
2. The 'Self-proclaimed' fans:
They might know the most basic plotline of the series or whatever, but they most certainly DO NOT go into deep of that. Why? Because they are just 'fans' for the sake of showing off(i). I have met many manyyy people who post stories on instagtam which are related to a particular fandom, but they. Are. Not. Real. Fans. The post it to show that they are, but I know better than to believe them.
I hate them with all my guts.
The third category of fans is, *drum roll*-
The TOXIC FANS! (I'm going to speak about this in length later on)
Okay, this is the type that most would get frustrated by, but to be honest, I seek enjoyment in such kind of fans. Not to extremity, but I certainly enjoy the small arguments that happen in YouTube comments. Just get some popcorn and there you go, full entertainment is on.
BUT, when the fights get TOO serious, *shudders*.
That's danger.
Those guys are literally toxic to have in a fandom, I swear. I understand the love you have for that series or whatever, I love it, too, of course! If you want me to have an intellectual debate on it, you're welcome. But if that turns into a fight, I'm outta here.
Don't get me wrong, I love to fight! (Lol). But I am not interacting with you if you are threatening me with death wishes, or worse, threatening my non-existent puppy. I swear to God, don't look at my puppy!
Ignore me. Um... don't actually. Hehe... *cue awkward pause here*
So as I was saying, these the kind of fans I've interacted with. I'm definitely an obsessed but not a toxic fan. If you want to meet/see one, go to almost any anime criticising video on YouTube and go to the comments section. Most of them agree and put their views, but there is always, ALWAYS one spoiled brat amongst them.
Moving on!
What kind of fans have you interacted with?
Do you agree with the categories I mentioned here?
And most importantly-
Your fandoms?
Let's have a long conversation if we share the same fandom! (We can have one if we don't share a fandom, too. Lol)
Oh, look, the coffee for the day is brewed! Gotta drink it, now.
Bye for now! Vote, comment, share if you like it!
