Just Before School
As I got out of my car I stopped to take a deep breath of the cool autumn air. I saw Brielle walking to school, as she waved at me I glalnced away and blushed, turning back to the school just in time to watch as she stepped inside and disappeared from view. I was told I was confident and fearless, but I knew that when it came to girls, I was hopeless. Even worse, I had to pretend I liked guys. I HATED pretending to like dudes. But I was so afraid of being rejected for my sexuality that I stayed hidden.
"Hey Claire!" My friend Diana called.
"What's up?" I asked her
"Caleb texted me back last night!"
"So?"
"So, I think he's into me! I mean I hope he's into me! I mean, have you seen his muscles?"
"No? Because that would be a little creepy?" I tried to find something else to say that wouldn't give me away. Apparently my response didn't matter, because Diana was too busy daydreaming.
"Hey." I said calmly, tapping her on shoulder, "We should probably go or we might be late to class,"
"Right. Yeah. Of course." she responded halfheartedly. I sighed, I was going to have to essentially pull her into the university to get her to actually start walking. A little later, once I had gotten her to be able to move on her own again, I went to class. And somehow I'd managed to forget that both Brielle, the prettiest girl in school, and Caleb, the most popular guy in school, were in my first class of the day.
A/N: Sorry this chapter is small, for this fanfic I'm going have much shorter chapters than in my other fanfics because of rotating views. Also what is happening in this fanfic directly and purposefully corresponds with another fanfic I am writing, A Visit to Central City. Please go read that if you've not already, I will get this fanfic up to the point that that one is at. When you're reading both stories they make a little more sense.
