Code 777

"I know everyone wants to know why I asked all of yee here today. I gathered yee all here to announce something very scandalous." Wishes stood up, her eyes flipping back and forth between every single one of us. Wishes spoke English the best out of all the clones. Her intelligence was another thing that had drawn me to her. She had not been the one to call the meeting, I had. She had a way of taking control of every situation. I loved it. I looked at her special tattoos. Wishes had the power to grant wishes if you kiss her, hence her name. The citizens were too stupid to discover this. I planned to keep it that way. Lord only knows what stupid, superficial things they'd wish for. I didn't have time to deal with that drama.

The meeting room was full of shiny silver tables. One large circular table in the middle surrounded by little rectangular ones. There was a huge dry erase board in the front of the room for planning. We were always planning something and today was no exception. The doors were bolt locked so no intruder could get in. Most things we did were top secret. If the wrong person heard, our world would come crumbling down around us in no time.

"Please Wishey, please tell us!" I pleaded, calling her by her nickname. I'd been planning to announce to everyone that we would be cutting back on our clone production until we could learn how to better hide them from society. There were four main clones. These were the only ones who were allowed to leave the mansion. They were Wishes, Elijah, Dorothy and Chanrelle. I would never interrupt Wishes though. I desperately wanted to know what she had to say. Anything I had to say seemed minuscule compared to what she may say.

"Now, what I say may come as a shock. You ain't even gonna expect it none." She began. She glared at Chanrelle, her arch enemy and shook her head angrily. "Grantheis ain't even been around here or nothin'. I want Grantheis to love me the way he used to." She paused dramatically; all eyes were on her. "So I call code 777!" Gasps erupted. Code 777 was the most serious of codes. No one was expecting that. My heart sunk. Why does she care what Grant does? He's not worthy of her.

Chanrelle spoke up. "Umm, Wishes you see Grantheis actually loves someone else. It's been the talk of the town. Code 777 may not even be strong enough." She spoke like one of those nerds in the movies that were constantly pushing their glasses up. Chanrelle was the bane of Wishes's existence. They had a falling out and had been in a war ever since. Chanrelle had the same lack-of-neck as Wishes, which was a threat to her. The clone mansion wasn't big enough for both of them and they knew it.

Wishes glared, clearly irritated. Chanrelle always knew what to say to push Wishes's buttons. Wishes stepped right in front of her. "You ain't saying nothin' Chanie-relle, NOTHING! I in charge here."

"Chanrelle, we all know the rules. When code 777 is called, we all must answer." I reminded her, forgetting slightly to use our code language. It was our golden role. Code 777 had only been called twice before. It was a big deal.

"Go home Chanrelle." Wishes growled.

Dorothy broke the tension. "Eww, so like this is like serious. Like, we need to start preparing now."

I grew annoyed. "Dorothy!" I said in trouble tone. "I was about to say that." She quieted and I turned to address the group. "Code 777 has officially been called. We will be getting it going. You best believe we gonna get it going everybody. Wishes is the most respected of all clones and what she says goes. So, everyone to your station. Training shall begin brothers. Yee, through and through." Cheers and chanting erupted. The clones exploded with excitement. They jumped up on tables, twerked in open spaces, smacked their faces into cake. We hadn't had this much excitement in a long time. Code 777 was the code for war. Wishes had declared war against the citizens. The war wouldn't end until Grant loved her. It was time to start preparing.

I hopped onto the silver, center table. "Tonight, we gonna party. Yee, the attire ain't ugly. Tonight we twerk like we mean it!" The cheers grew louder. The clones and I loved a great party. Our parties were elegant, and sophisticated. Outsiders would never believe it. They didn't deserve to in my opinion. Twerking was our favorite dance move. It was fun, sexy and light-hearted. I liked being misunderstood. It meant I had the surprise factor, which always came in handy. All I had to do was talk differently for one second and people feared me. As I looked around at all my clones filling the room, my heart was full and happy.

I walked up to Wishes. "Wishey, I can't believe it."

She rolled her eyes. "Who said you can address me Dilly?" She always played hard to get. She felt she had to be loyal to Grant. He wasn't loyal to her though. He'd been with nearly every woman in the county at one point or another.

"Wishey I love you." There was no need to decode this one.

She glared at me. "Well, I don't love you."

It was a stab to my heart. "You do, Wishey. I know you do." We had multiple moments before. I knew she liked me a little. If I could just get her to forget about Grant. She liked him because he was the only one who was nice to her when she first came. The citizens made fun of her at first, but Grant didn't. Grant stood up for her. She'd never forgotten about it.

"I've got the money, power and respect. Go tell Chanrelle that you love her, maybe she'll care." Wishes saw Chanrelle and I kiss before and never forgave me for it. She was beautiful and strong, but she wasn't the one. She wasn't Wishes.

"We need to talk about it Wishey. It ain't that bad." I begged, getting on my knees.

"You're an embarrassment to the twerker nation Dilly, and I mean it." She shook her head, disapprovingly. She walked away angrily.

"It's okay Dillion, she's a weirdo." Chanrelle came up behind me, shaking her shoulders. It was the only way she could shake her head.

"She ain't even in love with me no more." I looked down at my feet.

"I'll talk to you." She put a hand on my chest.

I panicked. I knew Chanrelle was only hitting on me to get to Wishes, but I held onto a little hope that Wishes would get jealous and finally tell me she loved me too. "You will?"

"On my butt, I would love to." You know the saying, I love you with all my butt, I'd say my heart but my butt's bigger.

"Okay, Chanrelle let's talk." We left the room together. I felt Wishes's eyes on us.
