Day 8
Today Georgie and I finally reached a conclusion. After hours of research, we realized that there was a pattern in the clues. We already were almost certain that the disappearance of Mrs. Doyle's daughter so long ago was in some way connected to the recent mystery, but today we found enough evidence to decide for sure.
First, Mr. Greene himself was never sure about what happened to that eight-year-old girl. However, from that night on, he blamed his wife in one way or another. If he didn't blame it on her carelessness, he straight out accused Mrs. Doyle of killing the girl. We saw old posts on his Twitter account about these suspicions.
Second and more importantly, we knew that Mr. Greene did not believe in forgiveness. He was a man to hold grudges. This, we believed, was what drove him to murder his ex-wife -- and he managed to disappear in the process, covering up his own tracks.
This mystery just became a revenge story.
⭐⭐⭐
If what we decided on was true, Mr. Greene was on the run. There's no way you can kill three people and still have a clear conscience - besides, he probably thought the police were hot on his tail. (Haha, that'll never happen with the police in this town. But I'm guessing serial killers don't take chances.)
So we wanted to take it upon ourselves to find him and turn him in...
But we didn't have any clue how.
