Drowning

there is something more to this mystery

deeper into the ocean surrounding me

trying to drown before I am found

a light faintly seen up above

a slight chance of finding love

a reason to reach out

a reason to hold on

to find a way to the surface

desperate for breath

wanting more life

much too soon to end

a certain kind of death

and then I begin again
