As the students of Class 1-A settled into their Dorms, they all prepared themselves for when classes resumed. After having breakfast, Class 1-A made their way to Gym Gamma. When Aizawa entered the building, he spoke to his students.

Aizawa: I believe I mentioned this already, but your main focus this summer is obtaining provisional hero licenses. Do not take this lightly. A hero license means that you're responsible for human lives. You can imagine that the exam to receive one is very difficult. Only 50% of students pass the tests required for these permits each year.

Mineta: It's that hard to get a provisional license?

As Mineta asked this, Midnight along with Ectoplasm and Cementoss entered the room.

Aizawa: In order to prepare, today you'll concentrate on creating something new. Two ultimate moves.

Ectoplasm: When we say 'ultimate', we mean a move that will ensure you win against your opponent.

Cementoss: An action so unique to your identity that no other person can hope to copy it. Simply put, you must learn to lean into your strengths.

Midnight: Your moves represent who you are. These days, most Pro Heroes have an ultimate move. Those who don't are fools.

Aizawa: This may sound abstract, but we'll explain more as the day goes on.

As Class 1-A were given instructions about what they would be doing, everyone was nervous except X-23 who showed little emotion. Kirishima glanced at her, still concerned about her. 

Kirishima: (Laura....)

With that, all of Class 1-A began training to create their ultimate moves. Ectoplasm used his Clones Quirk to create sparring opponents for the students to practice their ultimate moves on. As X-23 sparred against an Ectoplasm Clone, Ectoplasm spoke with X-23.

Ectoplasm: The biggest advantage your Quirk has is that it's a jack of all trades. Your Quirk can be utilized in both offensive and defensive scenarios. Your claws are the perfect offense while your healing factor is the perfect defense. Use those advantages to create your ultimate move. 

X-23 cracked her knuckles as she lunged at the Ectoplasm Clone and attacked him with her claws. During the attack, X-23 spins around like a top, slashing in a circular motion. As the Ectoplasm Clone was dispatched, another Ectoplasm Clone stepped forward.

Ectoplasm: An impressive move. This move could be used for damaging a small, clustered group of enemies or even a larger and more powerful enemy. 

X-23 said nothing as she readied her claws for another attack. As X-23 attacked the Ectoplasm Clone, Aizawa was observing her. He was quick to notice her increased aggression. For now, Aizawa would simply keep observing X-23. Back at the fight, X-23 continued to attack the Ectoplasm Clone. During her relentless assault, X-23 propels herself forward and lunges at the Ectoplasm Clone. X-23 follows through by pinning the Ectoplasm Clone to the ground. 

Ectoplasm: Impressive, Laura. I see you've looked to Wolverine for inspiration. With moves like those, you'll truly be a formidable Pro Hero

As Ectoplasm said this, X-23 blinked and could see the form of Daken. Immediately, her arm began to tremble as she began to breath heavily. 

Daken: We really aren't so different.

X-23: I....I'm nothing like you! I will never be like you!

Daken: Keep telling yourself that. You were created to be a weapon. I was forged into it by circumstance. Wolverine is no different. 

As those words began to ring in X-23's head, feelings of anger took hold of X-23. Without hesitation, she attacked the pinned Ectoplasm Clone with her claws. Seeing the vision of her brother, X-23 repeatedly hacked and slashed at the Ectoplasm Clone. Even as the Ectoplasm Clone was reduced to fluid, she continued attacking. At this point, Kirishima stepped in. 

Kirishima: Laura! Laura!

As Kirishima stepped in, X-23 lashed out at Kirishima. Kirishima was barely able to activate his Hardening Quirk as she attacked him with her claws. Kirishima tanks the attacks until he sees an opportunity and pinned her. 

Kirishima: Laura! It's me! Eijiro!

Still in a state of unbridled rage, X-23 lashed out at Kirishima once more. Soon enough, Aizawa steps in by binding X-23 with his Combat Scarves. 

Aizawa: That's enough, Kinney!

As X-23 tried to cut through Aizawa's Combat Scarves, Kirishima once more steps in to try and calm her down. 

Kirishima: Laura! It's me! It's Eijiro! I'm here. 

In that moment, Kirishima was able to calm X-23 down. When she came to her senses, she could see her fellow 1-A classmates look upon her with fear. She looked at her hands to see they were covered in liquid. She glanced over to the puddle of fluid that was once the Ectoplasm Clone. A great sense of anger, guilt and shame fell on her as tears began to fall from her eyes.

Kirishima: It's okay, Laura. I'm here.

As Kirishima attempts to hug her, X-23 pushes him away. Without hesitation, she began to run away. She slashes through the doors with her claws. 

Kirishima: Laura! Wait!

Without hesitation, Kirishima ran after X-23. As the situation quickly fell out of control, it was clear to Aizawa that something was wrong with X-23. He knew that the issues that X-23 was dealing with couldn't be helped by any of the UA staff. In that moment, Aizawa knew who could help.

Aizawa: I'm calling Logan. 

With that, the class was dismissed early. It soon became clear to everyone that Daken's betrayal had deeply traumatized X-23. The way she brutally attacked the Ectoplasm Clone as well as how she attacked Kirishima in a blind rage were clear indications of this. In that moment, X-23's anger had pushed her ever closer to the edge.
