March Forward, Little Adventurer!...or not (1)

It was like any other day for little Cyrus.

Wake up.

Brush your teeth.

Shower.

Get dressed.

Go downstairs.

Have breakfast.

Wait for teacher Aelius to arrive.

Study.

Go back upstairs.

Lay down on the bed.

Play with stuffed animals.

And rinse and repeat for the afternoon.

Nothing new happened and it frustrated little Cyrus a lot. Everyday was just a monotonous routine for him. It got extremely boring. That was when little Cyrus decided to go on a little adventure and leave the house he had always stayed in like Rapunzel and the tower.

He wondered if things would be different outside the caged walls of his home. He didn't hate his parents, no. He loved them with all his heart but sometimes, it bothered him that they wouldn't let him leave the house...it was as if...they were caging him on purpose, to which he was confused about. Everyday ended the same. He would sleep next to his parents and doze off into dreamland.

But today...it was a special day. No, it wasn't as special as his birthday but it was still special.

As the sound of the gates clanking resonated within his ear drums, Cyrus took a deep breath in and calmed down his accelerating heartbeat. It seemed like his parents are out for today...perhaps, out shopping for groceries just like usual. Today was a rare day for Cyrus. His parents finally left the house. His older brother wasn't there as well because he had to hang out with friends.

Today might be the luckiest day he's ever experienced. He was now alone!

He went upstairs, stumbling on the stairs and stubbing his toes. Even if it hurts, he didn't cry. This was the perfect opportunity to explore the wonders of the outside world after all. Crying won't get him anywhere. Cyrus finally reached the master bedroom and began packing some water bottles and bread (he loved them a lot).

He grabbed his diary and a pen to go with it. A grin was plastered on his face as he hugged it tightly while asking the diary about its days.

Cyrus was well aware that he was writing to no one in the diary but he liked to imagine that one day, the blank spaces meant for answers to his questions would be filled out. He liked to imagine that there was a spirit living inside the book.

It was just waiting for its escape just like him. They would go on adventures together around the world and maybe find a kingdom filled with gemstones that...that's magical? Something like that.

Anyhow, Cyrus finally finished preparing everything inside of his red backpack and decided to search for the spare keys to unlock the gate that's holding him back.

He found it!

It was underneath...the mat? Huh?

He slapped his own cheeks lightly, successfully snapping himself out of his trance. Cyrus blinked once and twice and somehow lost the key he just saw. He could've sworn he picked it up and placed it somewhere!

He sighed and searched around the room once again but to no avail, life seemed to tell him to stay home and not cause any trouble for his parents. Maybe he should listen...

But out of nowhere, he saw the key on top of the mat once again. He cocked an eyebrow at it. Cyrus already looked on the mat once before yet he couldn't see it anywhere so how...?

Eh, he shouldn't question whoever or whatever was helping him. They want him to leave the house just as he wanted so he wouldn't bat an eye!

He twisted the door knob leaving a creaking sound that traveled throughout the empty hallway. Cyrus gulped down his saliva feeling cold sweat drench his back. This could be the worst idea he's ever had or maybe the best. He would have to take the gamble to see its worth.

He arrived at the front door and slowly unlocked it as he glanced behind him. For some reason, he couldn't quite shake off this eerie feeling like something bad was about to happen. He swallowed his fear and left onto the front yard.

Cyrus could see the gate that towered over his small frame. This was the very gate that kept him locked up. He needed to get past it and he'll be free just like the birds.

And so, the black-haired boy took the key from his pocket and inserted it into the gate's wretched mouth, successfully choking it to death. He twisted the key which resulted in the inside of the gate's throat being squeezed even more and its shrieks pierced his ears, making him stumble backwards.

Finally...he had won. Alas, he won! CYRUS FINALLY WON!

The gate flung open signalling his victory.

He hugged his diary even tighter and took out the pen. He decided to talk to 'E' (the diary's name) once again. But of course, his writings were met with no response. How unfortunate.

Cyrus stepped outside and a burst of colors hit his vision, nearly making the boy blind. His grey world of monotonous tasks was finally over and now the adventures of the world will greet him with open arms! How exciting!

The boy wandered along the streets getting weird looks from passersby as he seemed to be writing in his diary profusely as if it were his lifeline. He glanced at the strangers that gawked at him. Cyrus tilted his head before concluding that this might be the first time they've ever seen a human...that must be it! Good thinking, Cyrus.

He walked into alleyways, hoping to find some mystical wonders until—someone halted his body by the waist. Cyrus tried flailing around but to no avail, he was now bound by this monster's hands! The demon spoke and said...something? He could only nod in fear of what would happen if he refused to follow its will.

The evil monster dragged him into the pits of hell and entered its evil lair. Inside there were more demons but they all had blue uniforms. There was demonic writing on the strange wardrobe of those beings...

P̴̛̺̠̜̗̥̥̬̆̆̓͛̽̊̿͒̽͘̚͝ơ̴̛̛̹̜̠̪͓̤̓̍̿͗̓͘̕l̴̛̝̺̼̖̲̣͕̭͊̎̃͑̓̆́͝͠i̷̭̪̝̰̘̗̱͔̙͎̤̊͆̂̒̓̏͜͜͝c̵̤̠̱͎͈̍̽̅̾́̏̒͜͝ͅe̶̢̢͍͎̥̤̿̅ ?

How weird.

The days...or maybe even years went by like a breeze for Cyrus. He awoke on the same bed as...that day when he tried to escape the house. He couldn't help but laugh at the dream he had. Cyrus could vividly remember the burning determination that flared inside his ribcage, where his heart was.

Oh, how desperate he was back then! It was laughable.

He got up from the bed and noticed that his pants had gone stiff. Cyrus yawned and went to the toiletries. It seemed like his...thing was acting up again. The boy—now a teenager, barely stifled a chuckle as it abruptly escaped his dried lips.

He stared into the mirror and noticed his messy black hair and his piercing black eyes. His t-shirt was wrinkled with how much he moved last night from having that ridiculous memory resurface. He glanced down at his private parts and sighed for the first time this morning.

Damn his human body and his morning needs.

He sighed for the second time and got to work. Cyrus was done with his...business and was about to clean his body that was recently doused in the cold shower until the dread finally kicked in. His towel was not where it was supposed to be.

Shit.

First was the morning wood*, next was his towel situation. Was this his sign that today will be a shitty day?

He walked out as water dripped down onto the ground. His mother will not only skin him alive but feed him to their dog if she ever found out about this. Cyrus Cyrus peaked his head outside of his room and took a quick look of his surroundings.

He exhaled a sigh of relief before entering the laundry room, buck naked with a water trail behind him. If his brother ever saw him like this, he would not only be humiliated for the rest of his life but on his wedding day as well! He couldn't let his future wife know of this, ever.

Cyrus found a clean towel and began to dry himself right then and there before dashing back to his room. But of course, fate was against his successful 'crime' and he fucking slipped. Just when he was in front of his bedroom door too. Great.

He tried smiling through the pain his buttocks were in with him landing on it. He could feel a cartoon-ish tear fall from one of his eyes. Nevertheless, he got up and rubbed his aching bottom as he nearly stubbed his toe against his bedside, trying to dress himself.

He finished wearing his uniform and checked himself out in the mirror. A low whistle escaped his lips as his eyebrows wiggled like a noodle. He really looks good in this sweet white button up shirt and black pants.

Cyrus let out a laugh while shaking his head. Who was he kidding? He wasn't good-looking, average, yes but good-looking? Absolutely not!

He stretched his arms before he walked to the storage room to grab a mop to clean his mess up.

Up.

Down.

Up.

Down.

The motion continued for a while before Cyrus found himself lost in his thoughts. He wondered if he'll be able to make friends or not. This was his chance to finally not be lonely like he was during his childhood years!

"Ahem." Cyrus froze in his steps. His brother was here and now he was going to ask him what he was doing. He gulped down his saliva and turned robotically to face the demonic sibling of his.

"What are you doing, young man?" Jerome Dal, his brother asked while crossing his arms. The older boy's frame towered over his and it made his heartbeat speed up.

"Cleaning...duh..." He added the last part in a small voice but of course, life was against him and his brother somehow gained superhuman hearing and heard him. His brother only scoffed in return before continuing his interrogation—in Cyrus's opinion.

"Why are you cleaning in the first place?"

"Spilled water."

"Ah," He shook his head, trying to stop a twitch that was coming from the corner of his mouth. "What are you so nervous about, you little rascal?! I thought you were smoking weed for a second there!" Jerome headlocked Cyrus as he ruffled his hair, earning whines from the younger brother.

"Go get another mop, I'll help you clean it."

He could only nod, flushed with embarrassment and guilt at the idea of his brother ratting him out. He glanced at the clock and the black-haired teen's eyes widened. It was nearly time for school!

"Sorry dude, it's nearly time for school! I owe you a favor." Cyrus called out to his brother before rushing to his room and grabbing his backpack. He ran past his brother who grabbed him by the shoulder, making the younger stumble a bit.

"You forgot your breakfast box and lunch money."

"Thanks." He said curtly before carefully placing the boxed breakfast inside of his backpack and lunch money in his wallet. His brother only nodded before shaking his head and wiping the floor with the mop.

Cyrus left the house and ran to his school which was luckily only a few blocks away.

Sweat trickled down his neck as he dashed to the registration office for his schedule. "E-Excuse me..." He began, huffing and panting trying to catch his breath.

The nice lady understood and asked: "Are you looking for your schedule?"

He nodded while placing his hand on his chest. Shit. He ran so fast that his body wasn't keeping up with it. Fuck. Cyrus forgot he had a frail body. Screw him for being an idiot.

"Okay so I'm going to need you to write your name on this paper." She handed him a pen and a piece of used paper with a bunch of students' names on it. He weakly grabbed the pen and began writing his name while circling it just in case she missed his handwriting.

"Cyrus Dal? Alright...let me just..." The woman said, trailing off as the sounds of keyboard keys being pressed can be heard. Her eyes gleamed with recognition as she stared at the monitor. "Oh! There you are. Your class is on the 4th floor. Sorry darling but it's the highest floor."

Are you fucking kidding? Life sure loved fucking him in the ass, huh?

"Thank you, m-ma'am." He said and walked away in defeat with his shoulders slouching and a grim look on his face. After what seemed like eternity with the flight of stairs standing in his way, he finally arrived at his classroom.

A2 was on the front of it.

He looked around the fourth story before entering his class, only to discover himself beneath the rooftop and with a large amount of space. He blinked twice before realizing that it was summer this month. And he was on the roof of the highest storey.

For the nth time today, Cyrus rested his head in the palm of his hand and groaned. This was fantastic! Let's hope the air conditioner was working well, otherwise he'd succumb to heatstroke and possibly be a rotting corpse.

With sweat trailing down his back, he entered the classroom and low and behold, it was a noisy one. But of course, when the teen entered, it just had to be quiet just so they could stare at the newcomer.

Cyrus awkwardly smiled while waving and his new classmates continued doing what they were doing before to his relief.

There were too many people...about thirty-one to be exact. It looked like he was the last to arrive. Luckily, the teacher wasn't here yet but unluckily for him, there was only one available space left and it was in the front of the class.

His luck could be compared to pigs flying which is nonexistent.

So the black-haired teenager strolled over to the front desk, which was right across from the teacher, and sat down. He shifted his gaze to his left and he noticed his seatmate doodling something. Oh, how Cyrus prayed to the gods above (if they ever existed in the first place) that his seatmate wasn't going to ridicule him like the Shoujo mangas he's read.

And for the first time today, life was kind to him.

"Hi there! Are you new?" Cyrus was about to answer but his eyes were captured by a very shiny smile, nearly blinding the frail boy. He squinted his eyes a bit before nodding silently.

His seatmate hummed and went back to his own little bubble. Cyrus began studying his seatmate's features. The nice guy had a holy-like silver hair that was tied up into a man-bun and his eyes were as blue as the ocean..maybe even bluer if that was possible.

"Uh...do you need something?"

Well shit. There went his chances of making friends with his seatmate which he's pretty sure he'll spend the rest of his school year with. Good fucking job, Cyrus!

"I was just uh...studying your features? I have trouble remembering people's faces." As he instinctively caressed the back of his neck, he felt his cheeks flush with shame. To say the least, that wasn't precisely a lie.

He could barely remember his cousin and even his grandparents' faces...part of the reason was because of his poor health that required him to stay confined within his house.

"O-Oh! Sorry for assuming you were a creep. Uhh, what's your name, dude?" His seatmate flashed him a nervous smile while putting away his drawing materials and turning to face him.

"Cyrus. My name's Cyrus."

"I'm Adwin! Pleasure to meet you, pal."

"L-Likewise."

"Don't be nervous, Cydie! We're going to be seatmates for a whole school year so let's get used to this together, shall we?" His seatmate—no, Adwin extended his hand and waited for it to be grabbed.

Cyrus gave a nervous smile to the other teen and shook his hand. He blinked for a few seconds before realizing something. "Wait...Cydie?"

"Oh! It's a nickname that I came up with, you see."

"Yes, I'm aware but...why Cydie?"

"It seems to fit your petite body." Adwin answered, eyeing him to which Cyrus responded by covering his body with some pink dusting his cheeks. He could practically see the words appear on Cyrus's face: pervert.

"Uh...as you can see, I'm a wannabe artist so learning anatomy is important. Sorry if I seemed a bit...off."

"N-No, it's fine. It's just been a while since I last interacted with a human being."

"Oh damn, what happened? Did you get kidnapped and placed in a tower like Rapunzel or something?"

"I—how did you even think of that—y-you know what? Never mind. I was just a sickly kid so I had to stay indoors a lot."

"That explains your social skills. Mind if I be blunt, Cydie?"

"Sure...?" And that was Cyrus's famous last words before being roasted alive on a stake.

"Your social skills are shit. Like damn, it's on the level of a toddler or maybe even worse! You seriously need to work on it."

"Well thanks, (name)." Cyrus said, rolling his eyes. Adwin laughed a bit before taking out a cold pack of tissue paper. He raised an eyebrow at the silver-haired teen's actions. The teen in question only smiled...though, it looked very ominous.

"For your burns."

"Huh—? OH, you fucking asshole...!" As he was about to lunge his anger out on his seatmate, the door swung open and out came their first teacher of the day. Luck was never on his side now was it?

Adwin shot him a cocky smirk while sticking out his tongue. Cyrus's eye twitched as he swore he could feel a vein appear on his forehead somewhere. Adwin now had a punchable face. Maybe this asshole should consider a career change and become a professional all-time punching bag. He'll definitely be a huge success.

"Okay class, please quiet down. I'll be taking attendance and when your name is called, introduce yourselves or something." The male teacher said nonchalantly while flipping through an abundance of notes to which Cyrus assumed to be the lesson plans.

"Chris Brookstone."

"Present! I like hanging out with my friends and riding my motorcycle with them." A girl with shoulder-length brown hair and bright yellow eyes exclaimed with a grin on her face. Three other girls that sat near her silently cheered for Chris. Cyrus could've sworn he heard a "Starb*cks Krissy for the win!" coming from her group of friends.

What's with these classmates of his and having bright eyes? Just staring into them made Cyrus go blind.

"Kimon Viotto." The teacher continued.

No response came and so the teacher exhaled a sigh before calling (name) once again.

"Kimon Viotto?"

"Huh—wait, it's my turn? Oh, I'm present." Cyrus spun around to see a teenage boy with reddish-brown hair with hints of orange highlights. Since when were highlights allowed?!

Moving on, he had short hair that was comparable in length to Cyrus' but a tad bit shorter. His eyes were the hue of an abyss, dark and vacant. Multiple eyebags could be seen as he yawned while his seatmate nudged him, trying her best to make him stay awake.

He said it too soon. He much preferred the bright eyes rather than dead ones. It was too scary for his weak heart.

Cyrus could faintly hear a "you're supposed to introduce yourself" coming from Kimon's seatmate. Kimon only groaned in response and continued without a pause: "I like to read books and sew or whatever and I like spring onions in everything."

And with that, the boy went back to snoozing. A sigh escaped the girl's lips as she shook her head. She had long pink hair and the same dead eyes.

All the black-haired male could do was shudder in fear. Those eyes were way too deep for his teenage brain to understand!

"Branwen Calrrise."

"Here." The first thing any human being would notice would be the dude's amber-like eyes that seemed to glitter once every few seconds. The boy shifted his round glasses and gave a million dollar smile. And Cyrus thought the sun was bright...it looked like he was wrong.

Branwen's hair color was a contrast to his beautifully shiny eyes as it was dark and brooding, jade emerald hair with some of his black roots showing. So he dyed his hair...this school was too weird. Wasn't dyeing one's own hair against the rules or something?

The class's chatter stopped and they turned to the source of the voice. Cyrus could practically hear the girls swooning already with how handsome this guy looked! Oh, how could a person be so blessed with such good looks?!

"No further introductions, sir." The pretty boy continued while taking out his notebook. Cyrus blinked before noticing the hoodie that the boy wore even though it was summer. Weird.

"Alright. Nacissa Viotto?"

"Present!" The peach-haired girl who was with the red koala said with a small smile. "I like to research about biology...and uh, testing out chemicals together..." Cyrus's lips formed a thin line. Yup. He's decided. He's one hundred percent, staying away from them, specifically her.

A few more names went by but Cyrus couldn't care less. It's already been more than ten minutes of students telling their names. Too troublesome to remember them all.

"Adwin Aganee." It was now his seatmate's turn after what seemed like forever.

"Hi! I'm Adwin as you've already heard and I like to doodle and listen to music while I work. I hope we can all get along together from now on!" He finished with a bow to further emphasize his intentions.

"Way to be dramatic, Addy."

"Shut up, I'm just trying to not get picked on. Need to seem likeable. Who knows what this school's like? Best be careful out there, Cydie."

"Noted."

"Dulcinea Elsher." Now where had he heard about her before...? Cyrus was pretty confident that her last name appeared somewhere on the television once.

A blue haired girl with ruby eyes rose to her feet. "Present. I enjoy going...fishing and eating seafood..." She replied in a hushed tone before hurriedly sitting down. And was that a golden hairband?! Holy shit, she's from the family that owned the most famous real estate agency ever in Pelirose!

The teacher sighed before taking a sip from his tumblr. "Hanan Miles."

"I'm present! I love singing and c-cooking." A freckled boy with curly blonde hair and green eyes spoke while playing with the end of his curls. The boy sitting next to him, Branwen patted his back as Hanan slumped down in his seat covering his tomato face.

After a few more names, it was now Cyrus's turn."

"Cyrus Dal."

"P-Present. I like reading comics and watching badly made web-series..." Well shit. Now he understood what Hanan felt. This surely was an experience. Adwin gave him a reassuring smile before tugging on his sleeves. Cyrus followed suit and sat down without saying anything.

A few more names were called and it was finally time for the teacher to introduce himself.

"My name is (name) and I'll be your homeroom teacher starting from today. The subject I'll be teaching you is sadly physics. Pleased to meet you all."

Groans can be heard after his introduction of being a physics teacher. "Since today is the first day, I'd like to give you a few rundowns of the rules. First of all, I'll allow you to sit with whoever you want just as you've done now but if I ever see you two talking too much, I'm afraid, I'll be forced to switch your seats." He drank more lemon tea from his tumblr.

"Secondly, I don't really care if you eat or drink stuff in my class but if I see any crumbs or whatever falls on the ground, you will be meeting with the vice-principal. And lastly, please complete all the assignments given to you so you can get a decent grade. Do you all get it?"

"Yes~" The class said together in a monotone voice.

"Alright, class. Take out your textbooks and turn to page three. We'll be going over it briefly before class ends." The teacher, satisfied with the answer continued while grabbing his own version of the textbook. "Now, Dulcinea. Read until the third passage aloud to the class."

The girl stood up and cleaned the non-existent dust on her skirt before reading the passages. Her seatmate who had blonde hair and pink eyes quickly pointed out where she should read before flipping her own textbook. At this point, Cyrus's classmates were all highlighters with either their hair or eye color...Adwin was both!

He needed to remind himself to get a pair of sunglasses or else he'll be going blind at the age of twelve. Cyrus stared blankly at his textbook and the hour passed by normally until his name was called. "U-Uh..." He cowered with his head hung low.

Cyrus could faintly hear the whispers coming from behind his table. Shit. He might be bullied just like the protagonists of those Shoujo mangas. He gulped down his saliva before his ear picked up on what the contents of the people behind him whispered about.

"Read passage six, dude."

He nodded mutely before doing as he was told. Adwin gave him a small apologetic smile while mouthing the words: "I'm sorry, I didn't pay attention too!"

(name) jotted down something into his notebook before closing it. Just as he was about to stop Cyrus from reading, the bell rang, signaling the first break. The older man could only sigh before finishing the tea inside of his tumblr and leaving for the teacher's room.

"I uh...want to thank you for saving me back there uh..." Cyrus nervously turned to face his saviors.

"Name's Nara Chul and it was nothing. A brother's gotta help one another after all!" Now that Cyrus had a better look at him, he noticed that Nara was quite muscular for a teenager, not that he's one to judge...

After all, he was around the same height as a nine-year-old. Despite his bulk, he wore some cute hair pins to keep his spiky purple hair under control.

"I'm Nara's babysitter. My name is Raivo Nihilian. Last name is pronounced 'kneel-ha-len'." Deadpan was what could be described as the teen's character with how dead inside he looked. He had long pear-colored bangs that nearly covered half of his face but short back hair. Small silver pupils bore its gaze into his pitch black ones.

"Y-Yes. Thanks once again."

"Say, do you wanna eat breakfast together at the canteen or something?"

He took out his boxed breakfast and turned to Adwin who was doodling without a care in the world with one hand. The other was holding a sandwich as he bit into it, leaving small crumbs on their shared desk. Noticing the stares, Adwin lifted his head as a few loose silver strands of hair landed in front of his eyes.

"Oh, don't mind me. I'm staying in the classroom."

"See you soon?" The silver-haired teen only hummed before sketching god knows what. Nara grabbed his wrist and dragged him outside along with his—what Cyrus is assuming—friend.

"You can sit here while Rai and I grab some breakfast goodies. Feel free to eat before us. You need that much nutrients with how tiny you are." Raivo whacked him on the head before dragging him to stand in line. The pear color haired tean went back to sit next to Cyrus who was more than happy to have some company.

"Just saying but don't be scared of Nara. He may have the body of a gorilla but he's a fucking puppy inside..." Raivo trailed off as he looked at Cyrus's food, eyeing it with great interest.

"Uh...do you want the shrimp...?"

"I'd love one but I'm fucking allergic to seafood, you see."

Cyrus concluded that Raivo had a foul mouth despite his frame being nearly the same as himself. A...chihuahua would best suit his image. That train of thought was cut short when Raivo picked up a fork and pierced one of his eggs.

He plopped the sucker down into his mouth. "These eggs are good." He commented before proceeding to pierce another egg. He lifted the egg to his mouth and raised an eyebrow at Cyrus who stared at the egg as if it was his newborn baby.

He chuckled silently before shoving the eggs into the black-haired boy's mouth. Cyrus's eyes widened as he chewed on the eggs slowly, trying his best not to choke. Raivo only laughed before waving the purple-haired boy over to their table.

"If you want something, say it next time, Cyrus."

"I'll try, Raivo." The boy patted the other on the back in a reassuring manner before Nara's loud voice resonated in his ear drums.

"Sorry I'm late! Let's eat now, my dudes." Nara exclaimed before placing each tray in front of their respective owners. "Sooo, what did I miss?"

"Nothing much. Just some test I did."

"You and your tests again! Hahh...what am I gonna do with you?"

"I-It's fine, Nara! Really."

"If you say so. If he's a bit too much for you, tell me, okay?" The purple haired teenager flashed his smile while ruffling his hair. So this was the older brother character of a friend...It looked like his school-life won't be so bleak and boring after all!

As he turned to his left, he saw Raivo stare at the both of them with fondness lingering in his eyes while biting into his egg bread.

And that was how his first break was spent. Cyrus reassembled his boxed food and went back to the classroom where Adwin was waiting with a sketch of the classroom and all his new classmates. He couldn't help but gawk at the amazing sketch.

"Do you plan to...color it?"

"Mm...wish I could. I suck at coloring." He answered while standing up and stretching. Adwin let out a satisfied groan before popping his knuckles. It was now the second period but the teacher wasn't here yet...running late, he assumed.

The classroom got rowdy for a while when suddenly, the lights went out, earning some shocked shrieks from the back of the classroom. The faint smell of burning wires hit Cyrus's nostrils. Whispers of fear resonated inside the pitch black classroom.

"Everyone, please calm down." Cyrus heard Branwen speak up. "I'm assuming you all have your phones with you so please take it out and turn on the flashlight mode." He took out his phone and turned on the flashlight as soon as he finished speaking.

Cyrus could feel someone latch to his arms. "S-Sorry, I'm afraid of the d-darkness." It was Adwin, his silver haired seatmate. He massaged circles across the back of the other youth. It appeared to be working as the tense motion Adwin had before was becoming more relaxed.

"Oh shit! I can't see."

"fUck! What did I even step on?"

"Ew ew ew ew ew ew ew ew..."

"Remain calm. We'll be leaving our class and informing the teacher."

They eventually made it out of the classroom, but their eyes, which had grown accustomed to the darkness, were blinded by the light. Cyrus hissed as he desperately covered his eyes. Adwin detached himself from the black-haired boy and pink dusted his cheeks. He was probably embarrassed because he was scared of the dark.

"Well that was weird." Nara said while running his hand through his purple hair as he walked toward Cyrus. Behind him was Raivo who was scrolling through social media without a care in the world, not even bothering to look up.

"Oh! Since you two haven't introduced yourself to Addy ye—"

"It's alright, Cydie. Let us handle it." With a faint smile on his pale face, Adwin tapped his shoulder. Cyrus nodded and was making his way over to the corner he had chosen when he realized that the reddish-orange haired teenager who had startled him with his penetrating eyes was also making his way over.

Being the coward that he was, Cyrus stepped down and went to another corner, earning a stare from said boy. The boy shrugged and sat down on the ground while bringing out a life sized teddy bear...? How the hell did he keep that without getting noticed by anyone—?!

While standing in his corner, Cyrus could feel his sweat rolling off his back, nearly staining it. He shook his head while fanning himself. Out of the corner of his eyes, Cyrus noticed Branwen who was still wearing the hoodie but...he wasn't sweating one bit, but rather, he seemed to look...blue? It was as if he was feeling cold.

Cyrus sighed once again. His very first class was full of weirdos not that he minded, no. He quite enjoyed watching them interact with one another. He hoped one day, he'd be able to make enough friends that could satisfy his years of not having one.

Was Adwin his friend? Maybe. Cyrus considered him to be one but they only just met so...acquaintances?

Let's hope he and Adwin maintain their friendship outside of school. It'd be nice to be able to hang out by going to cafés and such. He silently hoped and prayed that his and Adwin's relationship would blossom and lead to friendship. He appeared to be a genuinely fun guy to talk to.

After what seemed like forever, an explanation was given to the students of A2. Apparently, the teacher was absent without notice and the burning wires never existed. As for the lights going out, the power cut out on accident for A2 while the other classes were fine.

As for the second period? The students ended up playing football with a straw football that the auburn-haired teenager put together with straws he found near the floor's stairwell.

Surprisingly, it's well-made despite the amount of time spent on it. Kimon only yawned and went to nap in a corner again with that huge pillow as Nacissa followed him.

Adwin, meanwhile, was sticking to Cyrus like glue. After the darkness they experienced back then, he was practically traumatized and refused to leave his side, earning stares from Raivo and Nara.

"Uh, what's up with him?" Nara began, rubbing the back of his neck.

"I honestly have no idea either."

"Yo, dude. Can you like, respect Cyrus's personal space or something?" Raivo inquired moving closer to face Adwin who was taller than him by a few centimeters while crossing his arms.

After realizing his mistake, Adwin blinked for a few seconds before his blue eyes widened to the size of dinner plates (okay, this was an exaggeration) and apologized profusely. "I-It's fine! Just don't do it next time, Addy."

"I'm just...still hung up on the thing..."

"Thing?" Now that got Raivo interested. Nara nodded, signaling that he too, was interested.

"Uh, he's af—" Cyrus was cut off by Adwin's hands covering his lips. Adwin stared into his black eyes and begged him with his own blue eyes not to tell them. This action however, got misunderstood by Nara—that dumbass!

"Are you two dating or something?"

"No/NO." They both said in unison with Adwin raising his voice. This earned them stares from their other classmates who weren't engrossed in the football game.

Adwin blushed and hid his face with the palm of his hands. Cyrus only stared in amusement before mouthing the words: "Sorry"

As for Raivo, he only smirked while rubbing the bottom of his chin. "Is this a secret relationship between you two or something? If so, I congratulate you two for coming out and yes, we will keep it a secret. Don't worry."

"I-I told you Cydie and I aren't like that! We just met today."

"I'm having trouble believing it, grandpa. You have nicknames for each other and you're telling us that you just met? Lie better next time."

Cyrus blinked.

Once.

Twice.

Thrice...before he bursted out laughing. Nara soon joined him as they both leaned onto each other as supports while clutching their stomach. Meanwhile, Adwin was crying in the corner, growing mushrooms while poking the floor with a stick that he pulled out of his as—ahem, somewhere.

Raivo only smiled with doe silver eyes while fluttering his rather long eyelashes.

Was this what it felt like to have friends? If so, this was much better than what Cyrus expected. It was nice while it lasted.

The way his classmates ran and kicked the ball was satisfying to watch. Cyrus glanced around him and saw groups of people huddled together doing their own thing...well, except for Branwen who just sat in a corner, devoid of any expression just like a doll's. His aura was...cold as the snowy mountains of Everest.

It creeped him out a bit but he understood the feeling of being alone all too well. The black haired boy gulped down his saliva before slipping away from his new friends' (?) bickering.

Cyrus approached the doll-like teeanger and sat down next to him, not caring that the dust would get stuck to his black pants. He expected the pretty boy to turn his way but to no avail, nothing happened as the boy was seemingly lost in his own thoughts.

After what seemed like forever, Branwen finally glanced his way. "Can I...help you with anything?" He asked while playing with his hoodie's strings.

Cyrus shook his head before answering: "You looked lonely. I figured I'd be able to y'know, talk with you and stuff."

"Ah," He let out a sound and took off his glasses. "Thanks for your consideration...Cyrus was it?" Branwen finished before putting it back on and giving the other boy a smile that didn't seem to quite reach his eyes. Cyrus nodded in confirmation.

Cyrus, however, didn't mind and only hummed in response. He didn't know what he'd talk about but maybe just having company would be enough...at least, in his case.

"What are your hobbies? You didn't introduce yourself much in class." He began, hoping that this topic would be enough to evoke a conversation between the two of them. The awkward atmosphere was suffocating Cyrus and he would very much like to escape from it.

"I'm not an interesting person but my hobbies would probably be reading...and singing, I suppose."

"What genre of books do you read?"

"Mm...mostly cheesy romance titles but other than that, shounen is a favorite of mine. You?"

"Actually, it's become a habit to read at least one shoujo title once in a while...most of which doesn't make sense like Br*ther's C*nflict."

"Wait—you've read it too?!" It seemed like the cold beauty's icy aura had melted into goo. This made Cyrus's heart beat rapidly. It seemed like his social skills had improved! He should thank Jerome for this. That man had practically trained him like a military soldier in the social aspects.

"Yup. The story was questionable at best though their dynamics were good even though it's incest—to which, I don't support."

"I agree. They could've made changes to the plot to make it better such as..." Branwen's amber eyes lit up.

The talk went by in a flash and his friends came by and joined in the conversation. While Branwen was rambling, Adwin was drawing the supposed redesigns of the characters mentioned in the series. Nara and Raivo only listened while asking about some questions concerning the plot of the series.

"I recommend Tr*sh of the C*unt's F*mily if you're into shounen novels."

"I read up to 500 chapters and it was amazing! I still have about 200 more chapters to go through" Nara exclaimed as he puffed out his chest proudly. Branwen nodded as stars appeared in his amber-like eyes. He was shining brightly and Cyrus thought the teen couldn't get any brighter. He was wrong yet again.

And so, the short ten minute break they had (excluding the lights being cut off) ended. The third period has begun.
