Colorful Night (15/15) - r

He kept staring at the veins on Amy's neck.

"Do you need to use the toilet?" she asked, completely crushing the threatening aura Silver's body got enveloped with.

The amber eyes looked at the left side where his hand was holding a handle of WC. "Um, no?"

"Great!" The lass shoved him aside, quickly entering. A sigh full of relief was heard after a few seconds.

Silver felt stupid, and the flushing water reminded him he also needs to visit this small room, so they quickly exchanged places. It was really good Amy didn't stay there to fix her make-up as most girls did.

While was the psychic washing his hands, he noticed part of the pressure was gone. Who would thought the much-needed visit of WC would make him feel so good. He splashed some water on his face, rubbing the sleepiness away before he left.

Amy was still there, waiting at him. He only glanced at her, but she grabbed his arm. "Wait a bit."

"Don't want to." He jerked with his hand, but she still held him.

"Did you hurt Eclipse?" She looked into his eyes.

"Ask him, not me!" This time he freed himself, but Amy refused to let him go, leaping in front of him.

"Yes or no?"

"Don't you believe your—Ugh!" He bit his tongue as the train jerked back and forth, tossing with them.

Both lost balance and Amy fell on him. Their bodies collapsed inside of the toilet cabin that closed behind them. Amy rubbed her head and Silver wasn't any better. His situation might be called blessing since Amy's lower part was right in front of his face.

During the fall she managed to do somersault out of the instinct, falling in an awkward position. She quickly noticed that, retreating her legs.

"Don't you dare to rub it in my face," Silver mumbled, red in the face.

"It was an accident," she agreed.

"Fine," he snorted and tried to leave, but Amy again caught his hand. "Just ask your pet!" he barked.

"Why can't you just try to trust him?"

"Because he is a spy!" he snapped back. "Why don't you get it? He hides everything from you!"

Amy's face turned red. "You're the one to talk! Don't think I don't know you are hiding something too! It's written all over your soul!" She could see it. The crimson flames dancing inside, consuming the otherwise blue soul.

"Wha-!" He bared his teeth. How did she notice? He was sure to hide his tendencies well. He felt stupid for thinking about such questions when the answer was in her eyes. "You-!"

He wanted to push Amy way, but she poured her inner energy into him with such ferocity it froze him. A hot wave washed over him, drenching him in a sweat.

Tears poured from her eyes. "Why can't... you..." her voice betrayed her as her body collapsed.

"Hey, don't go fainting on me!" he barked, but it was no use. Amy was unconscious.

He snorted, having to deal with another luggage. He knew why he called her dead weight. He especially hated what she did to him. Teaching her how to insert her energy into others was a mistake.

Now all of his anger and frustration was gone. However, this wasn't the only thing that was gone; the hunger was no more. He was still hungry but in a normal way. He didn't know how to describe this, he just knew that hunger couldn't be satisfied with a meal or two. It needed fresh blood and raw meat.

He gulped. "Dang it," he silently cursed. Why somebody with such a useful ability had to get on his nerves so much? He picked her and brought her back to their coupe. Eclipse there fell asleep with his mouth ajar and drooling. Silver moved Amy next to the demon, then he threw his jacket at them and left to take a quick shower.

After a couple of hours, Eclipse woke up with a jerk. For a few seconds, he was disoriented and lost until he felt Amy next to him. His quick movements woke her up.

"I'm sorry. Just go back to sleep." His eyes darted toward sitting Silver who was surprisingly only in his pants. The rest of the uniform was folded next to him.

"Silver, are you sitting here half naked?" Amy asked him.

"So what, I'm hot," he answered, grumpy. Too late he noticed he made a pun. On the other hand, Amy agreed with him. Silver was one handsome hedgehog who just snorted, getting up. "I'm going to eat, want to tag along?"

"Yes, that would be good," the lass replied and also stood up.

The demon was hungry too, and on top of that, he was scared to remain alone.

They had to cross four more wagons to get into the dining one. It was decently decorated, providing a space for about thirty people. Since it was time for dinner, there was just one free table. They sat down, and Silver ignored the angry stares of old people who thought it was improper to walk around only in pants.

The mouse waiter quickly hurried to them. "Welcome, here are your menus." He gave them thin books and left to tend to another table.

Amy and Eclipse discussed what to order while Silver only waited for them, not opening his menu. The waiter returned after a few minutes and accepted the duo's order, but the psychic left him puzzled.

"I'm sorry, could you please repeat it?"

"You have heard me right," Silver replied, "I want all the main dishes in the order, plus the soup. Bring me a cup of every tea you have and a black coffee at the end. I'll decide on the dessert later," he repeated his order.

Amy and Eclipse watched him, unsure of what to think. Ordering ten meals was anything but ordinary. They had no doubt Silver knew what he was doing, but it was still strange.

"I don't have a time for you dilly-dallying, so what about a bet?" the psychic suggested. "If I leave but a morsel on the plate, I'll pay five times more than the price of all meals and double of it as your tip. What do you say?"

"W-W-Wha-?" There wasn't much he could say, he was speechless.

"No worries, if I win, there is no penalty for you, so just bring the soup already, I'm starving here." He grabbed his stomach.

"Y-Yes, sir," the young man quickly left.

Silver wasn't joking with his hunger, he tried to ignore it for the past hours, but it just got worst. He was only glad this felt like a normal craving. The soup and first tea were ready in a minute, so Silver dug in.

Everybody present was watching their table. Some people also made bets Silver wouldn't eat that much. The psychic heard them and didn't care. He knew his stomach well, but he was surprised how much he wanted to eat.

He wondered if his body wasn't going through some change. Maybe his power was slowly evolving and preparing his body on the new pressure, so that might be why he finished the fourth meal without a problem. He was actually still hungry.

After about an hour, Silver finished his chocolate dessert, leaving the only dirty plate. He decently wiped his lips, and said, "Now I feel satisfied."

Nobody commented on it. Some people even stopped eating when Silver expressed he was still hungry even after the seventh plate. He also consumed about fifteen cups of tea and four of black coffees.

The mouse waiter kept taking care of their table. He just now picked the last plates when Silver stood up. "I want to speak with the chef. Take me to the kitchen."

The mouse man nodded, afraid to make this rare customer angry.

Amy was confused by his behavior. "I'll go ask for the check," she said after she relaxed a bit and saw Silver to return.

"No need, I paid." He sat down, taking a sip of his last cup of coffee.

"I thought you won the bet."

"Yeah, but I enjoyed my time here, so I left for all the staff a tip."

"That's generous of you." She smiled at him. There were times when he was kind.

"Well, our waiter was hardworking one. Don't think I didn't notice you had ordered for three times, and Eclipse got double chocolate Sundae after his fifth meal," he reported with a smug smile.

Amy nervously fidgeted. "Yeah, I'm totally turning fat now."

"I wouldn't count on that," he smirked, "Your body has a different need for energy. Use it too much, and you will eat out half of any restaurant. You will get used to it."

"I'm not sure if I want to."

She glanced at Eclipse who was widely yawning, but he abruptly closed his mouth, realizing he was in a public space. He quickly looked around, but the wagon was empty.

"Who would think those losers would leave," Silver commented it and took the last sip of his coffee. "Let's go, we still have some time before we arrive."

The rest followed him to the coupe after they thanked the staff for an amazing dinner. There Amy let Eclipse lay on her lap where he fell asleep almost immediately.

>Amy.<

The lass jerked her head.

>That's me Silver.< The hedgehog pinched the bridge of his nose. >I'm not that good with telepathy like Gold, so I'll be brief.<

The lass nodded.

>I'm giving Eclipse one last chance to earn my trust. If I catch him doing anything suspicious, or hurting anybody, I'll go after him. Are we clear?<

Amy knitted her eyebrows. After a short while, she nodded.

>You won't complain or try to talk me out of it, you can only choose if I'll do the interrogation or you will make him talk.<

Amy clenched her fists, but she accepted this bet.

>And to answer your question.< He dug himself into the soft seat. >Yeah, I did torture him mentally and physically. I still have my doubts about him. Good night.<

With this, he severed the connection as he didn't want to get the headache. About half of the hour passed when he slightly opened his eyes.

Amy was dozing off, her head slightly rocking back and forth. She didn't try to hit him or anything. It was strange, he expected from her to react.

'Did she let it go?' he pondered, doubting that was the case.

He was sure she would remind him of it sooner or later. He closed his eyes once more, trying to sleep. Another half of the hour was gone, and the sleep eluded him.

He laid down, feeling how his brain was tired, but it still refused to change into idle mode. He rubbed his eyes, he went to take another shower, soaking himself in the cold water for ten minutes, then he read his copy of the report he left in Los Casino branch for five times in a row, but the trip to dreamland was still far from his reach.

No matter how much he tried to tire himself or calm his mind, he always got one picture in front of his eyes; terrified Eclipse.

Silver wondered if leaving such a huge tip and paying the bill was meant to calm his conscience. For the most absurd reason, his brain managed to convince him Eclipse was really just trying to fit in.

He was simply unable to balance his demonic nature with expectations of their world. He did his best to reform his body to meet mortal's standards, he refused to eat negative energy, he took clothes, he...

Silver barked at his mind to shut up.

However, it refused to settle down. He painfully realized he almost forced Eclipse to spill the beans. When he lifted sleeping Amy, his face wasn't just twisted by fear, but his mouth almost shouted everything he wanted to know; all for this little girl. How far he was able to go?

Silver covered his eyes and rubbed them. If he just didn't talk, he would have got all the answers!

However, this wasn't the worst part, it disgusted him how much they resembled each other. Their differences made them outcasts of the society where they lived. They were hated until they found one person who accepted them. In his case, it was Gold.

The psychic refused to just stare into the ceiling. He needed to sleep. Not to regain his strength, but to stop his brain from reminding him how stupid he was. His eyes fell on Amy. A sudden idea spurted in his head. He got up and reached his hand to her.

The psychic didn't need to touch her, and he felt her warm aura filling him. It was like he suspected; it was lullabying him. Now he just needed to let it spread and sat back. The first part worked, but the second one misunderstood the placement and he ended up on Amy's other side.

His head immediately landed on her shoulder, and the dreamland finally accepted him. For once his dreams were calm, free of all worries.
