Colorful Night (12/15) - r

This was still a problem that needed to be addressed, but the report didn't mention anything about strange deaths except for a few ones that were connected to Black Arms.

"Alright," he agreed after a bit of pondering. This was the best chance to observe demons and find more of their weaknesses.

Amy's eyes widen a bit since his fast and more importantly positive reply surprised her. A small smile spread on her face. "Thank you." She pivoted toward Steelar, saying, "Let's start with me."

Eclipse bared his teeth, letting out a whimper. His tail slashed through the air. He didn't like this.

"You?" the demoness asked to be sure.

"Yes, since I'm insisting on helping you, it's just fair to provide you with my negative energy." Her stance was firm, and the demons could smell her aura was solid, wavering around her. "I need to get angry, right?"

Steelar tilted her head. "Well, yes."

Amy sharply turned toward Silver. "Please, make me angry."

The psychic's ears twitched. Was she for real? This was a very tempting offer. She had no right to complain no matter how much he would insult her. Oh, how much he dreamed about such opportunity.

His lips slightly curved upwards, and mischievous spark shone in his amber eyes. For the first time in a long time, they weren't filed with coldness.

"Deadweight," he announced with a big smirk.

Amy's eyes widen as those words entered her ears. Her quills bristled, her normally warm eyes turned deadly cold, and her balled fists clashed in a fierce manner.

"I'm not fat!" her shriek was accompanied by slashing aura that manifested all around her, and her leg stomped, sending a small shockwave through the roof.

Cold sweat covered the proud psychic who subconsciously stepped back. He expected a much weaker reaction, this was like hell was released in front of him.

The fire in Amy's eyes gradually weakened with her aura turning invisible. The lass let out a loud gasp and slid to her knees.

Silver's eyes darted toward Steelar who was behind the girl, waving with her hands like she was making a ball of fine threads. Between her fingers formed pitch black sphere with swirling energy inside. It already had a size of a soccer ball, but it seemed it might still grow. The yellow eyes of the demoness were concentrating, not letting any energy to escape her. After a minute, she was done.

"Amazing!" she gasped, visible tiredness in her voice. "I have never seen such crystal clear anger in one person!"

She opened her mouth and took a big bite. She had to grab the rest of the ball as the substance, despite looking ghostly, was solid, sticky, and soft like bubble gum. She pulled harder, and the negative substance finally snapped. The loose end hit her right between the eyes with a smack. She thudded, munching her snack.

Her face was stuffed to the brim, and a wide childish grin spread all over her muzzle, radiating light and utmost delight.

"So~ good!" she kept gasping. "I never had such fulfilling meal!"

All eyes were watching her with a different level of confusion. Silver was closely observing the ball that was now of a size of a tennis one. It didn't feel she took that big bite, but then again they had no information about the negative energy form or density. Maybe this huge gamble might bring some sweet fruit.

Eclipse helped Amy to get up. She didn't think it would leave her so drained. Inside of her was a funny feeling, it was kind of like a void. Her head was light, empty, but her thoughts were collected and clear.

"S-Sorry," Steelar suddenly yelped as she woke up from her daze.

"It's okay, no worries. I volunteered," Amy ensured her nothing was wrong. "I'm just surprised it left me so tired."

"That must be because of your spiritual energy. It boosted your anger, so when I waved it out, it made you tired," the demoness quickly explained. "It doesn't happen with normal mortals, unless I suck them dry, which I'm avoiding."

Amy dusted her clothes, finding a few holes and dirty places. She couldn't help but sigh a bit.

"Since we now know it's not harmful we can help Steelar, right?" She looked at Silver.

"I suppose having a spy who can do both jobs is convenient," Silver commented it.

"Then it's settled!" Amy jolly shouted. "To collect it faster, let's work in pairs!" She patted Eclipse. "Will you go with Silver?"

The demon nervously fidgeted. "Yeah, I will."

"Thank you." She hugged him and went to Steelar. "How about we meet here after an hour?"

"Sounds good," the psychic agreed and beckoned to Eclipse to come with him.

The young demon wasn't happy, but he knew to let Steelar go with him would be a less good choice, so he followed the psychic.

When both were gone, Steelar asked, "Are you sure it's a good decision?"

She made a bit apologetic smile. "I know Silver seems to be cold, but inside he is a good person. He won't hurt Eclipse, I know it." The lass patted her shoulder. "And I'm sure you will feel better in my presence."

"I could hunt on my own," she argued, moving forward.

"Yes, I know, but this will be faster."

Steelar could only agree. "Then you could just let your demon go with me."

"Yeah, I know, but that would make Silver grumpy. This way he can see how this method works. Because he will have a profit from this, he will likely listen to me."

They jumped on the other side. The demoness was a bit surprised she did it with such ease. On the other hand, she was an agent, so higher physical abilities were to be expected.

"Can I have a question?" Amy asked after a short silence.

"Ya," she responded, leaning over the edge of a roof.

Under them was some dirty nightclub and some people were in an obviously bad mood. Steelar climbed down and sniffed next to a closed window. She easily identified three people having a big argument over unpaid rent.

She didn't care for the topic, she only waved with her free hand, since the other was occupied by Amy's energy, and a thin stream of black mist slowly escaped out. This process took about five minutes to complete. After it, she climbed back up, and the fight calmed down.

Amy looked at the new ball. It was hardly solid with misty form. It seemed most of it evaporated into the air, and it must have been true since Steelar's face turned sour.

"So what's that question?"

The demoness combined both spheres with hardly any effect on it.

"Before that, can I hold it for you?"

"What?"

"Is that bad?"

Steelar shook her head. "No, but do you know how?"

Amy shrugged her shoulders. "It's the first time for everything."

"I don't know, everything could get sucked into you."

Amy scratched her muzzle. "You mean since it's from us it can enter me easily?"

"Yeah, I think it's not supposed to exist in this form since it always tries to escape."

"Don't worry, I won't let your hard work go in a vain!"

Amy offered Steelar her hands she slowly engulfed with her spiritual energy. It gained gold-like glow.

The demoness felt strongly pulled toward that light. She felt the pureness coming from it, and she should be scared. This was the type of energy that could harm them, so why?

She gulped, moving the dark ball above Amy's palms. To her surprise, the ball started to levitate above them.

"It's lighter then I thought." Amy squinted her eyes, examining it. "I guess I have got it."

Steelar nodded, and together they hunted for a while before the demoness asked, "What was your question about?"

"Right, I completely forgot," Amy gasped. "What was..." She rolled her eyes, trying to remember it. "Why you called Eclipse 'my demon' instead of using his name?"

The demoness visibly fidgeted.

"You don't need to answer."

"I don't?" She snapped her head in her direction.

"No, it obviously makes you uncomfortable. I don't wish to force you."

Steelar climbed down and waved negative energy out of a person who apparently lost a lot of money in one of the many games.

Amy kept observing how she worked. She had found it a bit fascinating. It was like she was making candy cotton. After a bit, she was back.

"It's not like I don't want to call him by a name," she said as she combined the negative energy in Amy's hands. "Our names are our souls, we can't just carelessly shout it."

"Your souls? But Eclipse never told me calling him by a name was uncomfortable."

"Either he didn't want to give you a reason to dislike him since you bound him and you could easily punish him, or he got used to it since it no longer matter."

Amy bit her lip. "So, he never voiced his opinion in fear I would punish him?" Why it never crossed her mind? She thought Eclipse was just timid, or nervous from not being used to live among people. Was he still scared of her?

"Look, that may be the case in the past," Steelar quickly added, seeing her words made the lass sad. "I bet now he honestly cares about you."

"You think?"

"Yeah, just look into his eyes. They shine whenever he could make you smile."

Amy's face brightened up. "Thank you." She stepped forward. "Do you think we can get more energy then boys?" She impishly winked at Steelar.

The demoness grinned. "You bet!" She dashed forward, and Amy followed her.

'I hope Silver won't hurting Eclipse,' Amy thought.
