Q: What made you want to write "The City" and how did you come up with the plot?

A: Whale..

I was going through some tough times, and I had nothing better to do with my life. I loved reading peoples MJ fan-fictions, but something just seemed to be slightly off. I felt Like I wanted to make one. So the plot. My daddy is from Africa, and My mom is from San Diego California, My dad came from Africa, and fell in love with my mom is California, so I wanted Layla, and her mom to be African, like me and my dad. and find love in California, (IF THIS MAKES SENSE) and, I didn't want this story to be like a "highschool" or "teacher" or any other cliche thing. I wanted it to be something i HELD NEAR AND DEAR TO MY HEART.

now the strange part is, It didn't start out as a fan fiction, it was just any regular book, and around the first A/N I asked y'all if I should keep the book and turn it into a fan fiction, and I Did! Best decision ever. Now, its based off true events that have happened in my life, like Layla's mothers Emotional abuse in the beginning is similar to my mom, but my mom used to get physical too. We cool now, she still be acting extra, but all mothers are.

I wanted Layla to be someone who is just like me, and I could just express my feelings, and make you guys happy at the same time. This book helped me get through some rough patches, and I just wanted to make you guys (The readers) and addition of the book by adding your names, doing giveaways etc. I wanted this book to be interactive, because I just love talking to y'all.

As for the gang, in the story, I just didn't want MICHAEL to be in it, that why it took me 11 chapters to introduce Michael's character, so you can understand the rest of the book, and the amount of happiness y'all must've felt when Michael appeared must've been great.

Q: What is it about Michael that you love so much?

A: I love everything about that sexy, enlightened, goodhearted, talented, beautiful, unique, one of a kind man. He was god like, and he reached out to people of all colors. He spent his life making others happy, and I just love that quality about him. Absolutely selfless.
