Layla's POV

I was about to speak however, we were ushered into the house. Maria followed us inside with her wacky little magnum gun.

When we got inside, she just looked at us. After the long dismaying silence, She pushed my mother on to one of her ugly ass little chairs. She started to tie her legs and arms up really tight.

"Get your whore hands off my mother, basha!" I bellowed, glaring at her.

She turned around and pressed the cold barrel to my temple.

"If you ever yell at me again, I'll take you out. Understood?" She said looking deep into my soul.

She doesn't even know how to work a gun. She doesn't scare me a bit. She doesn't know who she's fucking with.

"Yeah sure whatever, I understand." I mumbled; clearly annoyed.

She ushered me over to a seat by mother and tied my hands and feet with some jagged rope.

I stared at my mother and she was extremely mad, she wasn't even sad.

"You okay mama?" I asked, concerned about her being.

"No, I'm not Layla." She told me looking down.

She lifted her head up and gave me a look that I never seen her give me before.

She wanted me to kill Maria. And she meant business.

Maria took a seat and looked at us. I grimaced at her and she looked back down, shaking her head. She was tapping her gun on her lap. I bet she was pondering on a suitable punishment.

The silence became unbearable so I found a better way to use my time. While Maria kept being a dumbass, I silently tried to shake free. However, it didn't work. I looked around for anything I could use to my advantage but there wasn't any.

Finally she spoke up breaking the silence.

"I know you guys killed Damien." Maria said, still looking down.

Pathetic.

"I know you slept with my husband? Ring any bells Maria?" My mom spat.

Maria got up and walked over to my mother huffing her putrid breath on her.

"He wasn't a good lay." Maria smiled looking at her.

"If I wasn't tied up, I would so beat your ass." I promised.

"You should." My mom told me.

She looked at me and gave me a smile. I knew what I had to do.

We were cut off by a gunshot sounding in the air. I frantically searched to see who got shot, but no one did. I thought Maria got shot. Damn.

"Finally y'all paying attention." She laughed waving her gun in the air.

"So which one of y'all wants to die first? Any takers?" She asked taking looks at both of us.

This ain't the end. I know it's not.

I began working on this knot. This simpleton didn't even tie a decent knot, just and over and under one. The ropes loosened but I caught them before they fell.

I looked at Maria and she was giving a speech that no one gave a fuck about. She kept paying attention to my mom. She saw we untying my self. So she kept her argument with Maria. We knew she wouldn't do shit.

I shook my feet rapidly and the knot untied. Maria didn't even notice 'cause she's too busy screaming at my mom.

"Stop! I want to die first." I said, ending the argument.

"Baby! The gun is loaded! What are you  doing?!" She said wailing; tears streaming down her face. I guess she didn't even know the plan.

Maria aimed her gun at me and smiled. She cocked her gun and put it on my forehead.

"Pull it." I told her.

She stepped back, still aiming at my head.

"My pleasure!" Maria yelled.

She shot the gun and my mother closed her eyes. No sound went off. The clip fell out of the magnum. Then, bullets fell out of the clip. Correction the bullet, fell from the clip and rolled under the couch. She stood there dumfounded.

"You're so stupid." I spat smiling.

"Well," she started trying to cover up emotions from her failure. "You're still tied up so ha!" She taunted like a little child

"Not really." I said

Right before she responded, I kicked the gun out of her hands, and it slid across the tile floor. Looking at me she charged. I grabbed her by her neck and threw her. Her body collapsed on the glass table leaving it shattered.

Ouch.

She got back up and swung at me, but I dodged it. My mother was cheering me on so, it encouraged me to finish the job.

I jabbed her dead in her face. The scarlet liquid began to ooze from her nose, leaving me happy. However, she still came back for more. I socked her in the jaw and blood drained from her mouth.

She then, started at smile at me.

"Ha!" Maria said.

She slowly pulled out a knife and began to slash it at me. I was jumping back knocking down all items in my way. I was cornered into the dining room. I fell over some cases and books I had knocked over.

I squatted down and looked beyond her shoulder. My mother peered over her. As she raised the knife, her attempts were seized by mother. She grabbed Maria by the hair and forced her to face her.

"Don't mess with my baby." She said.

Before head butting her, leaving her unconscious.

"Let's just leave her there." She started, "but I have to make a few pick ups."

I nodded in agreement.

She began to walk upstairs and I followed her. Our destination was Maria's room. My mom walked into her closet and moved some clothes out of the way, revealing a safe.

"How did you know she had a safe?" I asked.

"Pay attention baby, look at the table." She told me.

I proceeded to walk to the table by Maria's bed. A paper was laying on it. I picked it up and read it.

"The new Iron Steel safe, can protect your money and important belongings. Choose your installation and combination! Installation is only twenty nine shillings." I said reading to myself.

Just as I was about to set the paper down, there was another paper.

"Combination DOB. Combination location, in closet." I read.

She has terrible handwriting. But what does DOB mean?

"You know the combination mama?" I asked.

"She's a basic bitch. We'll figure it out." She told me smiling.

She's right. I began to laugh while she punched in some combinations.

"Try her birthday." I told her.

I didn't know it.

She punched it in and the safe let out some beeps. It slowly opened and smoke seeped through the cracks of the safe. Looking at my mother, she slowly opened it. We were so surprised and giddy about what was inside. Money!

"I did it Lay!" She said smiling.

That's what DOB means! Date of birth! Geez I'm catching Maria's stupid disease. I pushed all my thoughts away and cheered with my mother.

"Yay! Come with me to get our suitcases." I told her.

"Do you think Africa will think anything about all this cash?" She asked worriedly.

"We killed Damien and they didn't care. So I'm pretty sure they won't care about our money." I assured her rubbing her arm.

We walked out of the closet, and I saw something that caught my eye on the dresser. A gun! I checked it to see if it's fully loaded, and it was. Stupid Maria, you could've used this one. While I was examining the piece, my mother looked at me; assuring me it was okay for me to have the gun.

I smiled back and walked down stairs. I put the gun in my pants for easy pull out. We walked further into the living room stepping over the disaster we caused. Our feet crunched on the shattered glass as we walked across the tile floor. We saw a large pool of Maria's blood, but where was her carcass? I searched frantically.

My answer was found with the sound of her yelling. She was charging at me. I turned around and pulled out my gun. With no hesitation I fired a bullet to her shoulders and her knees, leaving her in pain. She should be more quiet with her attacks.

We grabbed our luggage and purses.

Me and my mother skipped happily over her body and proceeded up stairs with our suitcases. We grabbed the money and headed downstairs.

"Alright, let's go Lay. It's only 5:30pm." She said staring at the watch she stole.

"Alright, I have to do one last thing." I told her.

She nodded in confirmation, and walked over to Maria with me.

"You didn't have to get yourself involved in this." I said giggling maniacally.

My mother giggled as well.

"Go to hell." She spat at me.

"No thanks, but you will." I said laughing at her groans and agony.

"I don't shoot to kill. Die slowly bitch." I said patting her head.

I got up and spit on her body. Me and my mother exited with our money, fresh clothes and a better attitude knowing that Maria is dying.

Better yet, we left without a single drop of blood on us. We looked flawless.
