Layla's POV

My eyebrows raised, and tears threatened to fall from my eyes as I looked at my own father trying to battle against me.

What the hell? This isn't Mulan, we don't do this shit.

Marlon still had his gun up pointing it at my father and Johnson. "Who are these niggas Layla?" He glanced at me, still paying attention to the threat.

All of the Ganjas were still pointing their guns at us, being careful and cautious.

I shook my head in disbelief before answering Marlon's question. "He's just, Apple bunny." I told him.

Marlon smirked back, and I watched as my dad, and fathers faced scrunched into a discombobulated expression. "What?" Charles asked stepping forward.

Without a second to spare we all shot fire at the henchmen so quickly, they didn't even see it coming. One by one, they all collapsed to the floor, blood collecting on the floor. I looked up from the gory scene only to see my dad and Johnson fleeing to the battle field that awaited us outside.

I smiled at Michael and the rest of his family, because they remembered the code names, and ques. Kathy dropped her weapon and untied Janet who had her eyes closed from the things Infront of her. She has to get used to this killing because it's kill or be killed.

Once Kathy removed the tape, she kissed her cheeks whispering solemn things to her. "It's okay baby, mommas here, I promise I won't leave you." She cried, along with Janet.

I lowered my gun and untied Gordy who had a confused look on his face. I removed the tape from his lips so he can give a quick explanation. "I thought you hated me." He asked softly.

I shook my head, grabbing a gun form the dead Ganjas in the floor and handed it to him. "Not as much, but we can discuss this later. You still know how to use a glock like back in the day right?"

He sat up from the chair he was tied to. "You know this lays." He smiled.

Michael held up his finger requesting for an interruption. "She's taken, and that's my nickname for her." He winked.

Janet wailed her hands catching everyone's attention. "Those slobs are making a run a way getting prepared to fight, we have to go, and fight the Jackson way." She encouraged everyone.

I nodded at her speech. "That's right, everyone protect Janet, and give her a gun. Just in case. We didn't give her training."

I was running as fast as I could, holding up my assault 3 round rifle. I could feel Latoya and Debbie's presence behind me quickly following me, and of course the boys were in the front.

We all stopped on this one wall because Michael halted us.

Randy wiped the sweat of his head. "Is there a lame ahead mike?" He whispered.

That's our code name for the Ganjas.

He looked over at randy nodding. "Yeah." He whispered.

Michaels POV

I peered around the corner and squatted on the ground. With the guards looking the opposite way, I looked in my scope on shot each one quietly. The all collapsed to the ground earning large thuds. The sound of the dead bodies echoed through the hallways.

I looked left and right, scoping the hall with the little light I had. Once it was clear, I looked over to my family. "All clear let's go."

They all nodded simultaneously as they held up their guns. I ran quickly trying to hurry up and get outside to meet Charles and Johnson.

Layla's POV

I followed quickly behind Michael since he could sense the exit. However we were stopped at this door, it was a dead end but the only way to get out.

Michael jolted the handles but they wouldn't budge.

He slammed his fists against the door in anger and took a step back.

I took one of the bobby pins holding my hair up and began to pick the lock, however something grabbed my shoulder abruptly.

I grabbed their hand quickly and twisted it, however, the screams from this person was quite familiar.

I let go, and turned around to see who it was.

Janet, holding her arm.

She scoffed smiling. "Damn layla, you should've just broke the thing then, damn." She sarcastically said.

I laughed nervously rubbing my neck. "I'm sorry, but did you want to tell me something?" I smiled trying to lighten the mood.

She shook her head. "Yeah, but not no more, move back." She ordered.

I looked at her slightly confused but ultimately moved out of the way.

She held her gun up that we gave her and shot the lock at least 2 times. The hot barrel shells fell on the ground, echoing through the other vaccant halls.

Janet kicked the door open, and led the way. She looked back at us before proceeding. "Let's go." She said.

All of our mouths went agape as we watched Janet lead the way. We didn't even train her.

Ms Katherine laughed, holding up her m16 riffle. "She get it from her momma."

We all smiled at ms katherine as we headed for the glass doors.

Outside had a warzone awaiting us.

Rebbie, Latoya, the boys, my mom, Michael, and his parents rushed over to me forming a huddle.

Rebbie spoke up first, wiping the sweat off her forhead. "So, where's the back up, it looks crazy out there."

Janet was standing by the door, looking quite revengeful. I wonder what else they did to her.
And in more important terms, where the hell did Gordy go?

Michael looked up at his family. "We have this down, and Laylas brother should be he-" Michael was cut off by somebody grabbing his neck.

We all let go of each other and aimed the gun at the perpetrator. Michael bent forward flipping the guy over his back. He landed on the floor.

Before we fired, we took a look at him.

Janet rushed over from the door and put her head to the side. "Why this sucker got on a diffrent uniform." She cocked her gun.

I gasped and smiled recognizing the face. "That's my brother y'all." I laughed.

I extended my arm to lift him up. "Don't play like that Joey." I laughed.

My mom smiled at him. "Hello Joey baby, how is my boy, you still look the same."

I laughed slightly along with my mother, who was awaiting joeys answer.

My laughs died down as I saw Joeys face. He didn't answer the question at all, wiping any smile I had clean off my face. Something wasn't right about him, he looked,

Furious.

Michael noticed the mood change and stepped up to apologize. However, my brother held his hand up before he could get any closer.

Before I could further elaborate, I saw my brothers guards putting Michaels family in choke holds and taking their weapons. I shook my head frantically as I saw his henchmen drag them outside, awaiting to be slaughtered. I froze slightly, turning my head slowly to look at Joey. He had a maniacal smile plastered on his face.

Common sense hit me like no tomorrow. I tried to run in the opposite direction but Joey grabbed my hair roughly dragging me outside. I kicked my legs, squirming around yelling obscenities.

I tried to reach for my hand gun but he kicked my hand away.

What the hell is going on?

Joey threw me harshly besides my mother who had a look of shame in her eyes.

Michael was right besides me, frowning. "What the fuck is going on!" He whispered harshly.

I rolled my eyes sighing. "Let's find out, you still have your knifes and shanks in your boot?" I whispered the last part ever so softly.

He nodded. "Yeah, I'm not going down without a fight, but look theirs thousands of Ganja's on the horizon." He pointed.

We all sat down on the concrete that was just Infront of the exit of the cold reserve.

Michaels family had disappointed looks on their faces accepting their fate, death.

However I wasn't going to die without an explanation.

I saw Joey walking over to the war sight. Charles and Johnson were standing together awaiting my brother to walk over to them.

Joey and his large army that outnumbered them, walked over to my dad and his brother. A tear escaped from my eyes as I watched my family betray me 10 times over.

Joey, and a selected 4 of his henchmen were holding a large tan bag.

Johnson rubbed his hands together smiling at the bag.

What's in that bag?

I watched closely as Joey snapped his fingers. Instantly they dropped the bag revealing not gold, not money, but,

Gordy? What the hell is happening today.

Joey lifted Gordy up, and threw him onto the Ganja's side. I watched as he fell, dirt collecting in his mouth.

However, I heard someone snicker at that. I looked over to see Michael fighting his laughs.

His gaze met mine and he instantly looked down.

I looked back over to the scene and opened my mouth to say something, but Charles started to point at me.

Oh my damn.

Joey rushed over to me, and began to smile deviously. "Come on sister. Daddy wants you." He yanked my arm.

I flinched at his touch and spit on him. "Fuck you bitch."

Randy rolled his eyes and huffed. "This mediocre funny bone head nigga suppose to be your brother?" He scoffed.

One of the guards that were watching us smacked Randy upside the head. Instantly Randy  turned around.

The gaurd aimed his gun at him, so he quickly turned around and sat back down.

Randy it's alright, I wouldn't be so intimidated.

"Let's go Layla." My brother ordered, snatching my arm; directing me towards Charles, Johnson, and the large gang directly behind them.

I looked at Michael feeling quite defeated. He looked up at me and his gaze met mine.

"I love you." I whispered.

Michael shook his head, in disbelief. I think he wasn't going down without a fight.

I smiled at him, tears stinging my eyes and faced my attention at a whole other problem.

The guards, and my brother threw me in front of Charles and Johnson. Me and my mother wiped off our pants and looked up and Johnson, I have to admit, I was quite disgusted.

I scoffed. "What the fuck do you two want?" I shook my head.

Johnson held up his hand, raising a brow. "I thought I killed you?" He giggled.

I shook my head smiling sarcastically. "I'm back bitch, and I'm putting up a hell of a fight to keep it that way." I spat coldly.

My mother laughed at my confidence. "You better not anger her." She warned, raising both of her brows.

I looked back at Michaels family, and they all smiled nervously.

My brother pushed my head forward forcefully. I can't believe I've been betrayed in the worst way. This feels worse than being cheated on. A feeling of disappointment, and sadness bubbled in the pit of my stomach as I gazed at my brother. His shiny eyes became dull, his skin didn't even glow the same.

I guess he caught me scrutinizing at him because he looked at me back. He winked quickly before turning his attention to Johnson and our own father.

He stepped up slowly. "So you have Gordy, Nancy, and Layla now. Where's my money?" He held his hands out.

One of the Ganjas handed Johnson a suitcase. He opened in slowly, revealing thousands, maybe millions of American currency. This could be doubled, maybe tripled, in Kenyan shillings.

And I absolutely hate the idea of being bought.

I looked a little closer and my brother had something in his hands, maybe a gun? However Joey looked at me again winking.

He put his hands behind his back and pressed forcefully on his gadget.  ,Instantly, the guards pulled me and my mother down, sheilding us.

What the fuck man.

Immediately a large boom, followed my thoughts. The suitcase obliterated and Johnson and my father flew back. They both crawled back looking at my brother in awe, I have to admit I was too.

Joey picked me up and smiled. "I was acting, I got you sis." He laughed.

I stuttered pointing at the suitcase. "But how! When! Where but?"

He shushed me. "I was acting like I didn't like you so I could blow up half of their force in front of them. Hopefully Charles and Johnson dead, and 2 I got my crew to switch their suitcase with fake money, so I have real money now, and two, put a bomb in it." He told me throuroughly.

I shook my head. "That was some good acting, & my head hurts." I rubbed my head, sighing from the hair pulling. "But they about to start a war, lets run." I motioned to the Jackson's, who were by the army bags, and rubble to hide behind.

Gordy got up, and started talking to the other gaurds on my brothers side, while my mother followed closely behind me.

Pew.

The sound of a bullet cutting the air caught my attention. My brother Joey threw me my gun back and winked. "Let's do this shit."

I winked back. "I got you bro."

I began to get on the dirty ground hiding behind one of the large army bags. I began to yell orders loudly while my brother ordered his militia around.

"EVERYBODY GET DOWN ON THE FLOOR NOW AND OPEN FIRE!" I bellowed loudly.

The gaurds on my brothers side threw their guns and weapons back to Michael and his family.

Randy, Jermaine, and Jakie stayed by each other on the right to me.

Latoya and Rebbie were gathering their grenades to throw.

My mother was working with Mr. and Ms. Jackson. & Joey was firing shots.

Janet rushed over to me and Michael, ducking and dodging bullets.

She came over to us out of breath. "Hey." She said, casually.

Michael rolled his eyes at Janet. "Baby sis, just shoot, and keep your finger in the side of the trigger so you don't shoot yourself." He Informed her.

I smiled at the sight, I taught him that.

I picked up my 3 round assault riffle and placed it over the bag. I looked in the scope and aimed at one of the tankers shooting lots of bullets.

1 tanker down, 3 to go.

I out my back on the large bag, changing my clips. I looked up and saw Michael and Janet dropping these gaurds like flies.

I looked to my left and saw Ms. Katherine throwing a grenade at the Ganja's, and she had quite a hand.

However what caught my eyes the most was 2 of our own soldiers, fallen and injured. They were about 4 feet away from us.

I looked up at Michael to inform him. "Michael baby! Baby!" I screamed over the sound of crossfire, bombs, and violence.

He got down, while Janet continued to shoot. "What baby?" He was breathing heavily.

I wiped the dust off of my pants. "I have to help those fallen soldiers. Their one of us, and they have families to go home to. They're human. The ganja, not so much."I spoke up.

He shook his head. "Baby face, I'm trusting you. Do get hurt, and I'll cover you." He smiled. He leaned in to kiss my forhead.

Janet got back down and breathed in heavily, setting her gun down.

I crawled quickly, over to the other side, where Latoya, Rebbie, and the fallen soldiers where. I almost made it, but I began to feel a sharp pain on my calf.

I crawled a little quicker and sat back on the bag. Latoya and Rebbie were looking at me worriedly. "Layla! You okay? I think you got shot." Rebbie worried.

I shook my head looking at my leg, it was just a graze. "The crossfire grazed me, it's not a gash." I smiled rubbing Reb's arm.

Latoya shook her head smiling. "You're tough."she raised her brows. "But why are you over here?"

I pointed at the soldiers behind them clutching their wounds. "They're hurt, like 5. So you help some, and I'll help some okay?" I smiled.

They nodded, approaching the fallen soldiers.

I rushed over to the female soldier who was bleeding a whole lot more.

I moved her hand out the way and smiled. "Each one of you matter, I'm here to help." I spoke loudly over the madness.

She smiled at my kind gesture. "Thank you for noticing and even caring about me. Thank you." She smiled brightly.

I used my knife to cut a long piece of the fabric off of her jacket. I tied it to her leg and applied pressure. "No problem, thank you for risking alot of stuff out here. Whats your name?" I smiled, putting rubbing alcohol on her wound. Each Jacksons, and everyone who trained carry small first aid kits in their hostesses.

She coughed, siting up. "I'm Brinley, and you must be layla, Joey Bragg's about you all the time." She lifted her leg up from my lap, crawling over to the coverage bags.

I blushed at her compliments, cocking my M16. "Awe, he does? Oh, and you have a wonderful name."

She blushed, cocking her AK as well. "Thank you." We both got over the bags and fired shots at the ganja.

However, something caught all of our attention.

Everything became silent.

Oh no, it's a cease fire, a deadly one.

Latoya rushed over to me, along with Rebbie, and the repaired soldiers. "Why is it so quiet?" She panicked.

I shook my head. "Its a cease fire, they do that before they shoot their deadliest rounds, then they stop and fled. Most of the time, this kills everyone." I rubbed my temples

Assuming Randy heard us, since he's behind the rubbish In front of us. "Most of the time? That wont happen if we run!" He yelled.

I whistled to the Jackson's, a code signal to run.

They all got up from their places slowly, wiping their forhead.

They picked up their weapons and started to run. I ran quickly behind the cold reserve while everyone; excluding my brother and his army followed.

I put my back against the cold wall and breathed the air in through my teeth. Michael was panting loudly, bending over holding his knees; trying to gain composure.

Latoya, and the rest were doing the same.

Jackie stepped forward and stood Infront of me. "Whats about to happen layla?"

I sighed heavily at that question. "Either we die, or my brothers doing something." I told him.

Michael shook his head vigorously, while wiping this grime off his gun." Not gunna happen." He singsonged.

Mr. Jackson chimed in. "Lets go see what these hooligans are doing." He shook his head.

We all looked at him, astounded that he talked.

"Agreed." We all said in unison.

"Agreed." Randy said late.

We all looked back at him annoyingly. Randy rolled his eyes and stuck his tongue out. "Y'all ain't shit."

Ms. Katherine wagged her finger scolding. "Watch that mouth airing me boy, I don't care if we in war. Jehovah still watching."

Randy shook his head looking down. "Yes mom."

Michael began to snicker, as we got ready to see what Joey was doing, and why I haven't heard any bullets fly yet.

All of our feet crunched on the dirt beneath our feet. The sounds of the guns clicking to the objects on our clothes gave me confidence some how.

We aren't weak links. We're going to fight.

Michaels POV

I peered around the corner with my baby, my family, and her family behind me. When I looked over, I saw a wonderful sight.

All of the ganjas lifeless bodies laid on the floor, blood decorated their heads, but some were completley clean.

Thick gun smoke decorated the air along with flying debris circulating the place. Layla ran Infront of me running towards her brother, and all I could do is watch.

Laylas POV

I ran up quickly to Joey and hugged him tightly; dropping my gun.

My mother was following close behind me, and we were all in a group hug. Michael, Latoya, Janet, Jackie, and all the rest walked slowly towards us watching this family victory.

I sniffled on his chest, crying hysterically.

Its over.

I looked up from my brother, and faced Michael and his family. "Yall come here, big group hug!" I smiled, wiping my tears.

Michael turned the strap around so his gun was facing his back. He cupped my face and began to kiss my lips ever so softly.

When he pulled away, everyone was staring at us, but wait.

Not everyone, where's Marlon and Tito?

I tugged on Michael's shirt. "Babe, where's Mar and Tito?"

He looked around frantically for his brothers. However, two familiar voices stopped us in our tracks.

"We up here!" Tito waved his gun in the air.

We all turned around and saw Marlon and Tito on the roof of the cold reserve with snipers, and silencers. The climed down the ladder, with their arms out.

Ms. Katherine scolded again. "Stop waving that gun around before you hurt somebody." She laughed.

Michael scoffed. "A little too late for that momma, you killed some people too." He laughed.

Janet raised her fists in the air, changing the subject.. "To getting me out of here, group hug y'all, even that Gordy guy I got tied up with." She laughed.

We all were brought into a hug, joseph, Katherine, michael, his brothers, my brother, my mom, and Michaels sisters. It was a warming moment and we sat in comtorable silence, but I still begged the question.

How did Joey do all this, without us hearing it.

We all pulled away, and the breeze from the starry night atmosphere chilled my skin. Michael came behind me and wrapped his arms around my waist, while everyone was complimenting each other on their astounding work and skills.

"Ay Jojo, ho did you kill all those soldiers." I spoke up, interrupting him and my mother's talk.

Randy scoffed. "I'm saying, you got me discombobulated."

Michael spoke up from behind me still holding my waist. "Spell it Ran." He scoffed.

He scratched his head. "Uh, D-es-" Marlin cut him off.

"Wrong." Marlon taunted.

I shook my head. "Forreal Joey, how!" Michaels family nodded in agreement at my question.

Joey put his hands on his hips. "My crew cyanide gassed them, and used industrial fans to blow the air in the opposite direction. However it could be small parts of it lingering so we need to go." He explained sighing.

My mom spoke up. "Where's the ride?"

Joey snapped 3 times, and instantly one of his gaurds came to his service. "Bring my car."

The gaurd scurried away, getting his car. We were all left alone to conversate until he pulled up.

"We have alot of catching up to do, like alot." Janet said.

Gordy scoffed. "No kidding."

Michael took one hand off my waist to point at Gordy. "We tried to catch up with you, but you wanted to act silly and got kicked out. Whoops." Michael pretended to look at his nails.

Latoya and Rebbie imitated sizzling sounds, while ms. Katherine tried to scold them.

Before anyone could say anything else, the gaurd came with a large car for all of us to fit.
I sat in the back seat with Michael, while Joey rode in the front.

Latoya Rebbie and Janet were behind us, and well the rest sat comfortably in the back. It was a large car, maybe a van?

Once the doors shut, I could hear the tires crunching on the ground.

I looked in the front seat, and took a small glance at one of the rear view mirrors.

Its Charles, and Damien making a getaway.

Oh my lord, how did they not die?

Michaels soothing voice shook me from any thoughts that I had. "Babygirl, that graze on you lower leg is bleeding alot, how did you get it?" He clutched my thigh in his large hands, trying to soothe me.

I shook my head. "It was in some accidental crossfire, I'll be alright." I shook it off.

Michael was about to speak but Janet leaned in and tapped my shoulder. "I know I may sound nosy, cause well I am." She laughed, flipping her hair.

"Get to the point Jan." Michael laughed.

"Okay! Well, that wasn't an accident." Her featured scrunched up.

I scoffed. "Well the ganjas were trying to kill me so, it makes sense." I laughed.

Janet still shook her head. "No layla, these 2 guys weren't wearing the uniforms."

I scoffed, rubbing my temples. "Which one was it?"

She scoffed. "The one with the really short short hair, kind of ugly." She laughed, trying to lighten the mood.

The rest of the people in the car were searingly silent, trying to chime in to the interesting conversation. The tension was so very thick that you could possibly cut it.

My mother finnaly spoke up, breaking any silence we had. "That's Charles, Laylas father."

I clenched my fists, and my jaws.

Madness & savageness may begin.

Again
