Layla's POV
Me, and Michael's family made our way through the dark hallways, that my brother has previously sent me to. Small light bulbs illuminated the path to get out to some degree. Me and Michael lead the way, while our parents and brothers sauntered lightly not to far. I looked up, and saw a small sign that said exit.
Michael stepped in front of everyone to hold the door. With every person that passed, Michael said something inspirational to each of them; boosting their confidence. It's the little things that remind why I'm in love with him. When the door opened, the skies were covered with stars. The light breeze tickled my hot skin, from training everyone. The dark van that had my brothers name on it was parked right outside of the training camps doors.
I looked back at everyone and smiled. "Y'all ready to get Janet?"
They nodded in affirmation as they loaded up into the the van. I sat in the front and closed the door lightly. The Driver didn't really talk to anyone so he just drove to where my brother was. I smiled at the thought of him, as I buckled my seat belt. I haven't seen him in about 5 years, I'm surprised the Ganja didn't go after him. There is a large array of Kin who have joined the team. For many years of trial and error, they've been trying to get me on their bandwagon, alas; I'm not stupid.
The loud Jackson's broke me from my muse with their talking. "I can't wait to put our training to use!" Rebbie smiled.
They began to talk quietly among themselves, as the driver made its way to the destination. The rubber tired crunched against the small pebbles as it came to the curb. I looked out of my window to see my Brother smiling with thousands of soldiers neatly behind him. Their where tank trucks, and other forms of annihilation; I can tell that this is going to be serious. I shakily put my hand on the handle, waiting to get out, but something pushed me. I opened the door completely and slammed the door shut. I ran as fast as I could, and hugged my brother tightly, he embraced me back; sniffling slightly.
"How have you been boy?" I muffled into his shirt.
He pulled back observing me. "I've been well, but we can catch up later, we need to go save your friend." He smiled brightly. "I'll say hello to mom later as well." He said as he blew a kiss to her. She caught it and put it in her pocket. "When you get back in that van, they're going to drive you near the cold reserve where we will all meet. Then we will initiate war!" He cheered, smiling at me brightly.
I nodded, wiping my tears that were streaming down my face. I turned around to see Michael and his family looking at the scene unfold; they all were smiling at me, and my attempt to get their daughter back.
I nodded at the plan and put my hands on my hips. "Okay, I'll make the run down. but we need to hurry, I think its a trick." I sighed, rubbing the sweat beading on my head.
I gave him a kiss on the cheek before I walked over to Michael.
"Alright! No slacking, we must finish every single part of this mission, no mercy, and no holding back. Kill or be killed y'all! Don't disappoint me today!" He yelled through his blow horn.
"Yes sir!" They all saluted to him.
I ran quickly towards Michael and looked at all of them seriously. "Mom, get in the front seat, I need to make a run down. Oh and joey said hi!" I smiled.
"Alright everyone, get in the van, war is about to begin in," I looked at my watch. "45 minutes. So lets load up!" I clapped.
Everyone slowly filled up the car as I kept watch. When Marlon got in, I got inside too. I shut the car door and almost instantaneously; the car began to move quickly.
I looked at Latoya and Rebbie. "You two are going to be with My mother most of the time, keeping watch, and killing members if you have to."
Latoya nodded in understanding. She turned on the light on the roof so she should see everyone better I'm guessing. "Okay. I get it." She wiped the sweat off her head.
Rebbie nodded at me as well, drinking some water.
I pointed at Jackie Jermaine and Randy. "You three are going to be in main combat. So you're going to be in the line of fire helping me and Michael get to your sister." I smiled.
Randy looked at the M 16 assault riffle I gave him. "Okay cool, I'm glad."
Jermaine smacked his arm playfully. "Of course you are fool." He laughed.
I looked over to Marlon and Tito. "You guys will be doing all the sneaking. If I need something done on the down low, I'll transmission you guys with these." I pulled two walkie talkies out the back of my hostess.
Their eyes shimmered in delight as I handed them more equipment. "Thank you!" They said in unison.
"And finally, Mr. and Ms. Jackson." I started. "I will need you guys to help if anyone gets captured or hurt since your the best at escaping." I complimented them.
Ms. Katherine nodded, wiping the dust off of her pants. "Okay, I got it." She smiled kindly, and I saw Joseph smile a little too.
I know that's right.
I comforted them one last time, before I sat quietly in my seat awaiting our destination. I bit my lips nervously because I couldn't help but feel drained. I rubbed the sweat that slowly streaked down my head. I tapped my fingers on my knees, as I closed my eyes. I felt a warm hand on my shoulder. I opened my eyes slowly to see Michael in the back seat smiling.
He sighed slightly. "Baby, it's going to be all right." He told me.
I smiled at him, and out my hand on top of his. "Thank you baby."
"Ewwwwwwwwwwww." All of his siblings said in unison, shaking their heads.
All I said was baby. Jeez.
I laughed wanly as my content mood came back, but I could still feel a hint of guilt bubbling in the pit of my stomach. I didn't have much time to think because the fan came to a stop.
We are at the cold reserve.
My mother got out of the front seat first. I looked out of the window, as she got in her squatting stance, and slowly checked the area. Yet all we saw was a bleak, landswept setting. It had lots of worn down rubbish that was clearly man made, with large army bags on the ground. There was quite a bit of daylight. However, there were only steaks of orange and yellow in these navy blue skies. In addition, Joey should be coming pretty soon.
On the horizon, I saw a small warehouse, similar to the one on the last reserve. The only thing that was on my mind was Janet, and that bastard Gordy.
I looked back in my seat to face the Jacksons. "Guys, we have little time. We have to move out. Squatting stances and stay low." I briefly went over the last things that they were taught.
They all nodded in affirmative as they adjusted their bulletproof vests, and cocked their rifles.
Randy got out first. Looking left and right pointing his riffle. Then Jackie got out doing the same thing, and the other brothers followed with the same actions.
Ms. Jackson, and Mr. Jackson were the last ones to get out before me and Michael. And I have to admit, they move pretty fast. They all merged with each other, walking towards the warehouse with my mother, but we're still close to the people we assigned them with.
I got out of the car with Michael, and we were a few metered behind them. I faced Michael who was focusing on getting his sister. I could see his jaw clenching as we made our way to the cold reserve, stepping over the dented rubble that was beneath our feet.
I Set my rifle down slightly and gave his a kiss on his cheek, towards his jaw. Just a peck. He looked over at me smiling. The pout in his face instantly diminished. That's what I want to see. I didn't want him to stress out because stress brings panic.
And that's the last thing that we need if we want to save Janet, and most importantly-
Kill Gordy.
I could see the Jacksons stop at the door of the reserve, waiting for me and Michael. A few more steps and we were caught up with them. I scrutinized this building and there were absolutely no guards. Everyone parted their ways to let me get by. I could feel their burning stares pierce my body as I busted down the door with my foot.
Smoked seeped through the crevasses of the door. Michael was right besides me, aiming his gun upwards. Everyone else slowly followed behind us. Randy closed the door quite loudly and everybody looked back at him annoyingly.
He scoffed. "Sorry, damn." He shook his head, while grasping his gun.
Jackie hushed him. "Whisper nigga." He shushed.
We all faced our attention as we walked down these bland hallways. The only lighting that we had were the green pigmented lights that flickered above us. We all turned this corner only to find another blank hall with no doors. I took this time to call my brother get here. However someone snatched my phone and pushed me back abruptly. Within the blink of and eye, you could hear the Jacksons behind me clicking and cocking their guns, but the foreign side clicked back.
This secret door opened. The doors that everyone thought were walls slid open. And when they were open I couldn't believe my eyes.
I saw Janet and Gordy tied up.
What the hell? Gordy?
Ms. Katherine yelled, as she saw Janet huffing, trying to shake free. Their was a shimmer of relief that washed over Janet's eyes at the sight of her family. All the other siblings cheered slightly to themselves as they saw their little sister. However, she was quite beaten up. She had a black eye and cuts and gashes all over her body, as for Gordy, he doesn't look beat up at all. Just hysterical, with sweat pooling down his face and the side of his neck.
I would laugh, but now is not the time.
I ran over to try to cater to the both of them, but they both shook their heads viciously; pleading through their tape. Michael raised a brow, and so did I, wondering what was going on, but more lights came on towards the back of the room. The row of Ganjas that were standing behind Janet and Gordy got parted to either sides of the room revealing my Johnson and my dad standing proudly.
Everything is all fucked up.
