4. The Hike
Our wives left us and we went on proceeding with our path. Our bags hanging on our backs, almost reaching the thigh. Suddenly, Michael beamed at his watch and exclaimed, "It's eleven o'clock and my belly is already crying with hunger."
"Yep, about ticking to ten." I said, "Better find a fine spot to eat and then continue our route."
"Oh, I'm glad to relive this moment together," he stated.
There was the chilling air embracing our body and the fragrance of menthol. I sucked air through the teeth. I could recall the moment when we were teen. After some minutes, entering deeply in the woods, we found a nice place to install ourself to eat. It was a perfect spot with bushes along with bees and dragonflies buzzing around thoroughly. There were also birds of all kind. They were nice-looking and drop-dead gorgeous that I had to fetch my camera in my bag and clicked photos of them.
A cool wintertime morningtide and there was a freezing breeze of the air. A freshened smell of the moistened morning dew that cascades all around the heavenly forest. The leaves from the towering trees laid scattered on the forest ground; they were in the motion of turning into a crisp coffee-brown. The tranquil forest has the appeal of an oasis.
The dark shadows of the bounteous trees and bushes had grown upon the structure of the forest.
The forest has the appearance of a fantasy which blossomed, dragging your mind deeper and deeper into the ground, drowning into thoughts, feelings and imagination.
The sun bloomed into the sky with a mellow glow. The sky was blazingly tinted into a bright baby blue colour and hovered picturesquely over the trees. They tweeted, chirp and warbled monotonously.
Serenity and utopian ecstasy are hence seen in the deep depths of the forest as well as the encompassing surrounding's sublime aesthetic view. The tall trees dozed about a gentle peacefulness that keeps all safe and secure in the forest.
We ate our tangy-smelling food, quell our thirst with the water and filled our belly, then we rested there for a while and recommenced our route.
Entering the heart of the forest, which was our watch showed 15:00 p.m.
"Wow, four hours without stopping!" Michael exclaimed, studying the map, "We have eliminated twenty miles and now must dominate thirty miles more."
"How about built up the tent and rest here this night..." I said, my palm at my waists, panting and palpitating, "...and then tomorrow we'll complete the way out."
"Well... then we'll need to check the area up if somehow we're camping in someone else's land."
"In the wood!?" I grimaced.
"Yep, ought to be sure that were not stay beside a habitation or a private zone," he said.
"Ok," I agreed.
