1. Prologue

Michael and I were well indestructible close friends forever and ever. Michael lived on a neighbouring farm at the edge of a road. My parents often deposited me at his place in the summer holidays and we play in the wood. Sometimes we would play to hide and seek or race.

In the forest, we felt more alive. There was a friendship between Michael and I as well as a kinship between nature and us. It was under the rays of the sun which was born to rise each day, making us so organic. The wood hums upon with life all around me. I spun around freely, gazing up at the canopy, searching for the birds that sing tunefully. The sun bursts beyond the sky, lighting up the path ahead of me, decorating with outgrown roots, wildflowers and fallen leaves that cracked underneath my feet. I went on, taking in the fragrance of mint green grass and the moist ground. Each breath is like water, fresh and purifying, flowing freely, streaming down and reaching the lungs.

Michael has an oblong-shaped face along with as black as ink wavy hair, his eyes were ginger-brown with flat dark-brown brows.

There were slender and greenish Warblers standing on the branches and chirping, creating a harmonious and lovely singing notes with it, feeling the soothing and refreshing air blowing on our faces, our hair swaying with the whirling breeze, causing us to feel stimulating and invigorating.

We even went to an impromptu hike in the forest, following the railway lines. We did have pretty much great fun along with the picturesque views of nature. There were the towering trees along with streams of diamond-illuminating fresh and cool water flowing smoothly.
