Holiday Laboring

 Written/Edited by: Kyla

In the universe in the Realm of the Nuzlocke Games...

Since the last holiday event, nobody dared to participate in the next one. Rebellions lined the streets of Nuzlocke. Snow covered the ground in soft delicate blankets. Pokemon snow sculptures were lined in the cities, lights hung on trees and on each and every building. Except no one was admiring them. Nobody dared to even catch Winter Pokemon. So because everyone refused, Adeline ordered the hypnotized corpse of "The All Mighty King and Lord Joseph" to exile all the young children into the oblivion between the dimensions. The adults were heart broken, some even pleaded to be thrown into oblivion with them, but the orders were "only children" they knew now for sure their lives were useless to The Game Makers. King Joseph was amused by killing, he enjoyed human suffering. People started to embrace imminent death.

Shane's POV:

Some soldiers from King Joseph's legion, came to my cottage one Saturday night. Luna and I were in the middle of a game of Pictionary, when there was a loud knock on the door. The sounds of soldiers threw devilish murmurs through our hallway. I signaled for Luna to hide. Then, I answered the door. The soldiers barged in as the door swung open. One soldier asked if I lived with a child. I lied through my teeth and said no. He explained to me how The Game Makers decided to banish all children to the oblivion as a punishment for the rebellions against The Winter Event. The soldiers inspected each room. One soldier stumbled across our game of Pictionary. He saw the picture that Luna drew. It was a picture of a Rockruff, but it had an unproportional body and the lines that made up the legs and tail were sloppily drawn. The soldier shoved the picture in my face. "ARE YOU SURE YOU'RE NOT LYING!" he exclaimed. I claimed that I was the artist of the picture and I continued on Luna's drawing of the Rockruff she called "Borky" as messily as I could. The soldier bought it. I hoped that no other soldier found Luna's hiding spot... When they left my cottage without Luna, I was relieved. I called for Luna to come out once the coast was clear. "Luna!!! LUUUUNNAAAA!!!" I called. I got no answer... sweat beaded my forehead. "I have Borky here!" I yelled. And like and puppy herself, she ran right to me. I gave her a huge hug, then apologized for customizing Borky myself, but Luna said she liked Borky better now. I thanked the heavens that she wasn't taken from me.All those children who were banished from Nuzlocke are never going to survive sadly. In oblivion there is no means of resources from any direction. It is only pitch black...

Aiden's POV:

Naida and I left our home and tried to get off of Adeline's grid. It took some boss battles, but we found a dense woods beyond Level 40, past the main civilization area and into the outskirts. There, we found a cave where we set down our items. The best part was, Naida and I trained ourselves to manifest and our elements. So I could summon and lava pool wherever i wanted. The same went for Naida. Everyday we would train and lay low, just in case Adeline's troops survey the area we were in. We would also determine who The Children of The Prophecy were. But we had no idea where to start. We knew there were eight people we needed to find, and that was it. Some days, we would stay up all night and watch the Moon Lilies bloom, because we were just so clueless. I even picked on for Naida. She needed it. Because ever since she realized her past, and found out about Adeline, she has been so stressed. We didn't know where to start. So we decided to make our way to Valerie's base, to see if she knew anything about The Prophecy.

Bryce's POV:

I was stuck, weeks have past and I haven't seen a glimpse of sunlight. 100 portals and 1000 weapons were made and I was still prisoner to Adeline. Every portal and weapon did a number on me. I even had to cut my long, black hair from the multiple portal and weapon test fails. The only way to get the spell shackles that chained me in the basement off, was to make Adeline undo the spell herself. But I still didn't have a plan. All I knew was, she was going to let me out whether she liked it or not!

Later that day, I had a idea! It was risky business, but it was do-able. I noticed how some of the wiring I did for my portals were very shock prone. I was working on them that morning and I lost all sense in my hand. It worked sort of as a taser. If I could replicate that in a big enough scale to make my body stop temporarily, the guards will find my seemingly dead body and report my death to Adeline. They will then proceed to take me out of the basement and Adeline will unshackle me because I would no longer be a threat. Then I would wake up and escape!

I started on the project. It took about six hours to complete the mechanism. I worked all throughout the night. If my calculations were right. I'd have about an hour of blackout. Which should have been plenty of time for the guards to find me, and for Adeline to unshackle me and throw me out of her palace. And with that, I prayed and stopped my own heart. Everything was dark. I hoped the next thing I would see was daylight.

When I woke up, I was eager to find myself an easy escape. But... I wasn't outside, the light that I saw was not sunlight. It was fire... and I was laying on top of hundreds of dead bodies! The stench of blistering, burned human flesh was so sickening, I gagged. I was going downhill into the world's biggest fryer! I climbed the hill of bodies to the top and noticed a door. I crawled past dead children, even babies. But it was locked from the other side. That was where guards will enter for inspections, or throw more dead bodies from. The bodies were piled so high in this huge room. If you have ever seen a garbage disposal plant, with litter covering the floors and compressed papers and plastic piled to the ceiling. That is what it looked like. To Adeline, humans are garbage, we have no point but to entertain her, and once we stop serving her a purpose, we end up here. I started to think there was no escape. Until I realized. At the top of the building. There were glazed windows, just under a giant pile of bodies. I realized how obvious it was, and how stupid I must've been to not notice it. Adeline didn't realize that her obsession with death, destruction, and total power, actually aided in my escape. All I had to do was pile a few more bodies on top of this mountain in order to reach the window! Then, I had to break the glass and maneuver myself down to the outside world! Once I kicked the glass, it shattered into thousands of bits, and conveniently, I jumped right into a dumpster full of squishy, rank food parts. On the top of the dumpster lid was the times of pick up. And according to the garbage truck rolling down into the castle grounds. I'd say it was about eight in the morning. I hid in the garbage bags and waited for truck's mechanized arm to grab the dumpster and drop me into the truck. Once it did, I sat patiently in the refuse until the truck passed through the gates and out of Adeline's palace! The garbage truck propelled away until it was out of sight. Which was when I pushed the emergency hatch open and jumped off the truck! I was free, and very pungent. I had to find Valerie and warn them about Adeline.

Elizabeth's POV:

Today I planned to visit my friend Valerie. She had a lot of power within Nuzlocke and she had a secret resistance against Adeline. The mysterious ruler of Nuzlocke. People don't know that Adeline is the true culprit to all the killing. If only they knew it wasn't Joseph or anyone else! I plan to spread the news to Valerie. I warped to Valerie's base, and showed the guards my ID badge. They escorted me to Valerie's office. There, I knock on the door, and her voiced echoed from behind. "Come in!" she said. I noticed she was with three other people when I entered. As I flew in, Valerie made a run at me and gave me a huge hug. I laughed and hugged her back. "How have you been Val!" I said. She responded "I'm fine! Thank you for coming!" as she pulled up a seat for me in front of her desk. The other three people I sat next to introduced themselves as Naida, Aiden, and Bryce. Valerie explained they all had inside information to aid the resistance against Adeline. Bryce said that he knew some of the inside of her palace and he explained that he was forced to make portals and weapons for her before he escaped. Her power of reality bending comes from possession, and she is the spirit of The God Stone. Naida added that she was planning to take over not only Nuzlocke but every dimension. She also explained that She and Aiden knew Adeline in a past life and were granted powers due to their godly history, and in order to defeat Adeline, they had to find the eight Children of the Prophecy.

All their knowledge surprised me. I took out the scroll that Meredith gave to me, and unraveled it on the table. Naida, Aiden, and Valerie started to read as if they were in a trance.

" The Power of Eight, Combined in one. Their mind and power sure as strong, their true potential shining bright as the birds will sing at dawn. Their mythical beasts stand tall and proud. Their bonds an unbreakable steel. Together they will strike the first blow on the evil energy that neared. As the demons arrive ablazing, their power starts to dwindle, one will pay the price. A sacrifice of no other, will save everyones' life. But despite the willing gift, a greater evil is still to come. No match for that on their own. Their strength, and hope, and harmony revived from the one of The Blood of The Flower. A power even brighter will save them."

I sat there in shock... Valerie, Aiden, and Naida read the whole prophecy as if they were reading a children's book! Was it possible, that Naida, Aiden, and Valerie were three of The Prophecy Children? It seemed logical. The prophecy did say, they have to have great power and mind, and all three of them had much of both. I obviously knew the answer for Valerie, but I wasn't sure for the other two. I asked Naida and Aiden. "Have you ever encountered Legendary Pokemon?" They both nodded... That was it!

"Naida, Aiden, Valerie. It is my honor to say that, the fate of Nuzlocke is in your hands. You are The Children of the Prophecy."
