(Imperial strategic HQ).

"You may begin you reports generals." Tanya says gesturing at the generals seated around the table before her.

"Thank you Empress. The northern front is holding and we recently succeeded in repelling another entente offensive. However our supplies are being strained and we need to alleviate them somehow."

Tanya began to think and let the information she was just told digest.

"We could launch a full offensive and break them after all the entente is weak." One general says while pounding his fist on the table.

"Your forgetting about the entente's mage corps while it is small they are very well trained. They would have to be eliminated before we could make any advances." 

"No they don't have to be completely destroyed just distracted." Tanya says surprising everyone. she had been so quiet some almost forgot she was there.

"What do you mean mam" Rudersdorf asks

She begins to point at different points on the map while explaining her plan." If the northern army launches it's offensive a smaller force could seize a key port and use it as a new base and we would be hitting them from two fronts." 

"That could actually work the entente fleet is almost non existent and we could invade a port city. But which port did you have in mind mam."

Tanya smiled and pointed to a location on the map." The orse fjord. Before you all think it is insane let me just reassure you that those cannons and any defense mages will be taken care of before the northern fleet even arrives. "

"How do you propose we do that mam." The commander of the norther n army asks with his arms crossed.\

"Simple." She says smiling." MY battalion needs some combat experience and I think my guard will be more than enough to handle this 

The generals were shocked. when Tanya became empress she recalled her mages she formerly commanded from the Rhine to her new royal mage guard and in the last 6 months those mages had become the most elite the empire had ever seen and they now numbered 200. Their commander though was one Colonel Mia von Graf who was very young to be commanding such a large force but Tanya insisted on it. Her second was a foreigner Major Viktoryia Ivanovna sereberyakov.

"who will lead them." Zettour asks looking at his empress though he already had a hunch who Tanya would say.

"I will."

All the officers present except Zettour Rudersdorf and Rerugen were surprised. The last time a monarch had lead troops from the battle field was almost 70 years ago.  They were still recovering form their shock when a messenger suddenly bursts into the meeting.

"I apologize for interrupting the meeting." He says with a bow and a salute.

"What is it." Tanya asks gesturing for him to rise and continue

"I bring a message from chancellor Vogel he demands the empress surrender and hand over her power to him or he will burn berun to the ground ."

"Him and what army." One of the generals asks.

"His lightning guard sir it numbers 700'000 and they are marching this way."

Tanya was quiet and looked perfectly calm on the outside but on the inside she was enraged. She was  disgusted that he would threaten her peoples lives just to get to her and she would not take that sitting down. Rising from her chair she slammed her hand down on the table using some magic to amplify the sound.

"If that upstart thinks I will just surrender he's got another thing coming. I will meet him head on with my guard and teach him the true meaning of fear personally." She says turning towards the door flanked by her two guards.

"mam." Zettour says standing up. " I wish to stand by you with along with any soldier I can spare."

Soon all the other generals had voiced their agreement with Zettour swearing allegiance to the empress. 

(3 days later.) POV Tanya 

Tanya stood at the head of her army standing beside her were Viktoria and Mia who stood ready with their weapons. Behind them 200 mages from teh royal guard stood ready and 2 additional mage battalions form the central army group who had also spared 10 divisions to aid in guarding the capital.

Tanya was looking through binoculars as Vogel and his army approached the capital. Despite their massive size Tanya did not want to retreat she was berun's empress and she would guard it to the death as her ancestors had done. 

"Mam they are spreading out." Visha says pointing towards the army who indeed was spreading out."

"Vogel must be an idiot then. Does he really think  His rag tag army can match us in terms of training and equipment." Mia says gesturing to the army behind them. 

"I don't think He wants to." Tanya says gesturing to teh army in front of them." He just wants to get at least some of his men in berun to show teh people that their loyalty to me will be meet with death." Tanya says staring angrily at Vogel who was clearly distinguished from his men sitting on top of a limo at the head of his army. 

(Vogel's army.)

"Sir we are in position." Felix says saluting towards Vogel.

'Good then let the battle commence. It's time for berun to burn." He says with an evil grin.

(8 hours since the start of the battle.)

IT was chaos on teh battlefield. Due to berun's size Tanya's army was spread thin to try and keep Vogel and his Hench men out. However the sheer weight of Vogel's army broke through in several areas throughout the city. Furthermore Tanya was told that another 200'000 men were coming to aid Vogel and Tanya knew that if her army stayed where they were they would be overwhelmed.

"CHARGE." A Lightning soldier yells urging his men onwards. " TAKE OUT THOSE IMPERIAL SCUMBAGS AND SHOW THEM WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU BETRAY THE EMPIRE AND VOGEL.'"

"TEAR THE TRAITORS APART DON'T LET UP MEN."

"DIE TRAITOR."

"FOR THE KAISERIN."

"FOR THE CHANCELLOR."

"DON'T LET UP WE ARE ALMOST THROUGH."

"PULL BACK STOP THEM."

"MAGES."

The area where Tanya and her army held an advantage was in air power she had 300 mages and Vogel had none. 

(19 hours after the start of the battle.)

Both sides were exhausted and casualties had been heavy. Due to the frequent mage attacks Vogel ordered his men to take hostages knowing the empress would not order her men to fire on innocent civilians.

This worked to an extent yes mages and Tanya's army were reluctant to attack when civilians were put at risk but this created a side effect Vogel forgot to factor in.  

Civilians enraged at Vogel using their brothers , sisters , children parents as shields and hostages were furious with him. Compared to Tanya's army who did not put civilian lives on the line and often took great pains to avoid them getting harmed. Any reservations the people of berun had with the empress were suddenly gone and Vogel and his men soon found civilians fighting beside Tanya's army.

Eventually desperate to break the stale mate Vogel ordered a charge on The imperial palace. Once again teh fighting was fierce and bloody but eventually Tanya and her forces won. 

Vogel was captured and 5 fays later Tanya addressed the nation.

Tanya: Exactly 5 days ago on May the 8th 1925 Chancellor Helmut von Vogel lead an armed coup against the imperial palace and tried to kill me.

Investigators have discovered Vogel was responsible for paying assassins to kill the imperial royal family I was saved only because my mother was in my room at the time and got me out.

Furthermore he had rigged the last 2 elections and in doing so kept himself as chancellor. Furthermore he was an architect of this terrible war that has been raging for 2 years and killed many of our family members and friends. I ask the allies to please consider making peace i am fully prepared to negotiate but I will not hesitate to protect my people form oppression know this.

If you stand against freedom or try to take it from us I will stand and fight to protect it no matter what.
