(officers academy).  May  8th 1923 POV: Tanya 

it had been sometime since I first enrolled at the officers academy I became a warrant officer rather quickly and wasted no time in making my cadets the finest the army has ever seen. most of them at least graduated with top grades which have not only made their superiors impressed but my own superiors were very pleased with my results. My reputation was boosted curtsey of me leading cadets through a rebel infested area saving 2 companies of infantry I was given congratulations and I returned to the academy. That was 2 weeks ago not much has happened but it is close to my graduation date which I hope to be given a rear position even if its just organizing supplies. However I had hoped for a semi quiet academy life. That wish i should've known was too much to wish for.

(knocking)

"Enter please".

as the door opened i was shocked by who now stood in front of me it was the headmaster.

"Oh sir please forgive me" I say rapidly snapping to a salute." warrant officer Degurechauf waiting for orders sir".

"At ease warrant officer I came cause I wanted to personally congratulate you for what you did for those companies a few weeks ago". 

"I don't know what to say except thank you sir". 

"I hope you are ready for the assembly today Degurechauf".

"Yes sir I am".

"Good make sure your dressed in your dress uniform this one is a special occasion".

"yes sir if I may ask what is the occasion".

"oh just the academy it celebrate 100 years old today don't be late Degurechauf".

"Of course sir i shall be right on time".

"Good to hear".

with that said he walked out and I began to get my dress uniform out however I was puzzled the academy was only 97 years old why lie about what this is about unless it concerns me no that couldn't be it why just celebrate one officer when the academy had dozens no there was something else going on. I wasn't left much time to ponder as the assembly was only 2 hours away.

(that evening). Academy assembly area. POV Tanya 

the assembly hall was bustling everyone just being casual it was mildly disgraceful they represent the empires military and they dare to slack off however I'm not in charge so i must be calm and pretend I'm enjoying this. Eventually I find a seat next to captain albert who greets me warmly.

"ah warrant officer Degurechauf quite teh evening isn't it".

"it certainly is sir"

"by the way congratulations on that rescue mission those cadets would not have survived if you weren't with them. So wherever your assigned they are going to be lucky to have such a hard working and dedicated officer".

"you flatter me sir I'm glad that I've managed to impress you given your early doubts about me".

"water under the bridge Degurechauf you far exceeded anyone's expectations lets eat teh headmaster is supposed to speak soon".

after about ten more minutes of waiting the head master finally addressed the students gathered.

"Students you have all come far your discipline and fine minds will serve the empire well. now then onto why this assembly was even held as I'm sure our older officers know this isn't a celebration of the academy's age but a pre graduation ceremony but this one is slightly sadder then usual". he says looking down at the floor." usually our emperor would come and offer an address to the students but as you all know he is gone and so is his family. however" he says while looking up with a slight smile." that doesn't mean we must wallow in our grief this special night you all should be very proud of your accomplishments and I'm sure your empress wherever she is is also proud of you too. Now tonight we also honor one of our esteemed students. Will warrant officer Degurechauf now join me please on the stage".

I was shocked while I did suspect this assembly had something to do with me I had no idea what but not wasting anytime I quickly made my way to the stage amidst deafening applause of the other officers and cadets. 

"warrant officer Degurechauf has guided many of you through your time here and she has done a fantastic job at it. With that in mind as well as her bravery in rescuing her comrades from rebels while it may have been just an exercise her bravery and determination showed there and it only makes me more proud to award her the iron cross 2nd class for her actions and a promotion to 2nd lieutenant".

after pinning the medal to my chest he asked me to say a few words.

"this honor is great and I will do everything I can to live up to the faith and teachings I've been given here at this wonderful academy and I encourage you all to strive further not just to improve yourselves but also the empire which you all serve so faithfully". however I was not expecting the deafening applause to multiply even further.

(Norden) June 23rd 1923. POV Tanya

after my graduation/ promotion ceremony i was deployed to Norden to wrap up my courses today was just supposed to be an easy patrol assignment except there was a problem. The entente alliance was sending troops to occupy the region of Norden and i knew my first taste of combat was coming however while they weren't expecting me to be attacked by other mages not everything goes as planned you have to be prepare for the most unexpected circumstances.

"sighting the entente alliance forward units suggesting full scale bombardment of the area". 

"roger that lieutenant Degurechauf commencing fire". 

I couldn't help but feel some satisfaction for the deaths of the entente soldiers as they were pummeled by the artillery they thought they could just waltz up and we wouldn't try to stop them what a bunch of morons they deserved to die.

"attention fairy 08 you are to advance and provide mild cover fire to help clean up the job".

"roger that Norden control advancing". 

While I was expecting resistance i felt this assignment was going pretty well all thing considered there was nothing in my way of a safe deployment to the rear.

"static".

"repeat message Norden control the signal was bad". 

"ma.....ges ..... si".

"Norden control please repeat message couldn't hear you".

"static".

static but that must mean someone is blocking the signal but only mages can get up this high which means-. 

(no POV)

just then a hail of bullets headed for Tanya who fortunately had set up her mage barrier as she had suspected an attack barely though.

"how did we all miss her"

"she's an imperial mage but she's only a little girl".

"that changes nothing I'm going in I want at least a small compensation for all our dead comrades". 

voicing their agreement the other mages follow their company leader except for colonel sue who was more hesitant to attack. 

"wait lieutenant she may have back up pull back".

however his order fell on the deaf ears of men blinded by a desire to kill.

turning around after being ordered to engage Tanya stared in worry at the approaching company and began to tense up silently cursing being X for doing this to her but then she began to cackle. 

"I GET TO BE THE HERO OF THE BATTLE FIELD TODAY WHAT AN HONOR  SO MUCH FOR BEING SAFE AND BESIDES TODAY IS AS GOOD AS ANY TO DIE".

firing two quick penetrating spells she immediately killed two of the advancing mages while charging much to the shock of the other ten soldiers.

"how is she doing that". 

"i don't know or care just take her down NOW!!!".

they then al began trying to hit Tanya but instead lost track of her. only for Tanya to fire two artillery spells from the clouds which immediately killed the lieutenant and his wingmen. however after firing the remaining shots in her magazine she had only killed 7 mages and 5 were still tailing her and she was running out of magic. 

"NOW CLOSE IN WE GOT HER" the 2nd lieutenant yelled only to get an elbow to the stomach as Tanya descended after discarding her gun.

"where'd she go". he said frantically looking around trying to find her.

suddenly Tanya grabbed him by the neck as his comrades closed in trying to help their lieutenant.

"i don't need ammo" Tanya whispered sinisterly in his ear . as she charge dup getting ready to self destruct.

"GET OUT OF THERE THE LITTLE GIRL IS DANGEROUS".

however it was too late colonel sue watched as his remaining men were caught in the explosion and killed.

"colonel sue this is entente command you are to fall back at once understood"

"yes command pulling back". i can only hope i don't see that devil again.

(imperial Norden hospital). Pov Tanya 

sometimes you just have to make it look like you fought hard then you can leave the battlefield as a injured martyr. but that can backfire.

"2nd lieutenant Degurechauf despite being hopelessly outnumbered you engaged the entente mage company and dealt with them swiftly. for your bravery I'm proud to award you the silver wings assault badge and a promotion to 1st lieutenant and I'm also proud to give you the 75th mage company who eagerly awaits their new commanding officer congratulations". he finishes as the other officers and mages applaud. 

So not only do I not get the rear position I'm promoted and given my own mage company and I will most likely be back to the battlefronts immediately after I recover. I wonder if there's a child protection agency somewhere nearby. 

AUTHORS NOTES: sorry everyone i know these updates are long overdue I've been sick and dealing with some personal issues with my life and i haven't had the time to write anyways i hope you all liked this chapter. also if anyone know show to make the fight scenes for saga of Tanya the evil more exciting then i can please tell me so i can improve them for future references. also schugel and Tanya getting the type 95 will not be in this story she will have it for the next chapter but i feel schugel isn't relevant to my story but he will appear. also i wont be including being X i don't have the patience to write him. also i own nothing all rights belong to the creators of saga of Tanya the evil and owners.
