Chapter 3: The Pevensie's Return!
It's been year, a year since they left the magical world of Narnia. Ever since the Pevensie's came back to their world they thought about moving on but some of them think they were better off in Narnia like it was their home all along. It's also been a year since they last saw their older sister Elizabeth who is still in Narnia to this day and really want to see her again but they couldn't find their way back into Narnia nor heard any calls to return. With the World War still going on it made things difficult for the four siblings but as long as they had each other they will be all right. It was 1941 in England and Lucy the younger sibling was about to cross the street when all of sudden a car almost hit her but the driver stopped in time.
Driver: Mind yourself, love.
Lucy: I'm sorry.
Driver: Watch where you're going.
Lucy runs across the street and looks to find her sister Susan reading next to a boy that was having a conversation with her until Lucy came by to get Susan's attention
Lucy: Susan! You'd better come quickly.
Susan: What is it?
Lucy: It's Peter, there's a fight going on and Edmund is trying his best to stop it.
Susan: Sigh...lets go. What did Peter do this time.
Susan and Lucy got their things and ran across the street and down towards the subway where they heard children and teens shouting from down below something about a fight. Susan and Lucy looked saw some older teens attacking someone and that someone is their brother Peter. Edmund jumped in to help Peter but both him and Peter were overpowered until the military guards came and blew the whistle to get everything calm.
Guard: All right that's enough, break it up. That's enough, come on. Act your age.
The fighting stopped and Peter along with Edmund were all right and sat down with their sisters. Lucy was comforting Peter who looked down and humiliated.
Edmund: You're welcome.
Peter: I had it sorted.
Susan: What was it this time?
Peter: He bumped me.
Lucy: So you hit him?
Peter: No. After he bumped me, they tried to make me apologize. That's when I hit him.
Susan: Is it that hard just to walk away?
Peter: I shouldn't have to. I mean, don't you ever get tired of being treated like a kid?
Edmund: Uh, we are kids.
Peter: I wasn't always. It's been a year. How long does he except us to wait?
Edmund: Not to mention it's been a year since we saw well you know. I wonder what she is doing now.
Lucy: I do miss her.
Susan: Elizabeth knows what she wanted Lucy, but I do agree I miss her too. But I also think it's time to accept that we live here. It's no use pretending any different. I know Elizabeth would feel the same.
Edmund: You do know she won't forgive us for leaving without her knowing.
Peter: That's true, the next I need is a scolding for our dear older sister.
Lucy: OW?!
Susan: Quiet, Lu.
Lucy: Something pinched me!
Peter: Hey stop pulling!
Edmund: Not touching you.
Susan: Look, would all of you just....what is that?
Lucy: Feels like magic.
Susan: Quick, everyone hold hands.
Edmund: I'm not holding your hand!
Peter: Just....
They all held hands and the next thing they see was the walls of the subway coming apart like they were being pulled off and they were going down the tunnel where the train was going until the four Pevensie's looked at what they were seeing. They saw what looked like the sea and a beach and when they saw the train leave in front of them and into the tunnel that showed a bright light, the light dyed down and reveled the entrance to Narnia.
They arrived and looked like they were in a cave, but then they stepped out and looked like they were on a beach but in the world they first came into. They were back, they have returned to the world of Narnia. Lucy looked at her siblings and smiled as they did the same and ran on the shoreline and took off their coats and shoes to play in the water. They were laughing with excitement and happiness until Edmund stop and looked up that caught Peter's attention.
Peter: Ed, what is it?
Edmund: Where do you suppose we are?
Peter: Where do you think?
Edmund: Well, I don't remember any ruins in Narnia.
They all looked up and saw the ruins on top of the cliff. They stopped playing and went to have a look at the ruins above. They found a path to walk up on until Peter saw a tree with apples and gave one to Lucy. When they made to the top they looked around the ruins. They were trying to figure out what this place was until Lucy spoke after she saw a view of the area.
Lucy: I wonder who lived here?
Susan was about to say something to Lucy when all of sudden she felt something near her foot and went to pick it up and it looked long a golden centaur but to chess set.
Susan: I think we did.
Edmund: Hey that's mine, for my chess set.
Peter: Which chess set?
Edmund: I didn't exactly have a solid gold chess set in Finchley did I?(Edmund saids and looks at the chess piece)
Lucy looked and saw something familiar and knows about and the idea came to her head what this place was or used to be.
Lucy: Can't be....
Peter: Lucy?
Lucy: Don't you see?
Peter: What?
Lucy: Imagine walls. And columns, there. And a glass roof.
That's when Lucy's brothers and sister got the idea of what this place was and it was their home in Narnia, the same place where they became kings and queens as well as their sister Elizabeth. They were in shock of what they saw and don't understand how this happened.
Peter: Cair Paravel...
Susan: What happened here...?
Meanwhile at Castle of Caspian, the man known as Miraz the one who killed Caspian The Ninth and order his men to kill Caspian The Tenth for the throne was holding his new born son in his arms so that one day his son will become king. His wife looked out and saw Miraz holding their son and smiled and went to see the both of them.
Prunaprismia: Showing your son the kingdom?
Miraz: Just getting some air. But you're right, he should see it. If he's to rule it one day.
Prunaprismia: Where is Caspian? I thought he would be here.
Miraz was going to answer until he saw General Glozelle and his men returning to the castle and someone tied to a horse who Miraz thinks its Caspian. Miraz hands his son over to his wife and prepares himself to see if his general and men have captured the prince.
Miraz: I think we will see him soon enough.
Miraz heads down to the horse pen to meet with Glozelle and was going to see the body of his dead nephew until Glozelle stopped him.
Glozelle: Wait. Wait my lord, it's not what you think.
Miraz: Then what is it?
Glozelle: We're not exactly sure. Show him.
A soldier takes off the cloak and reveals whats under it and it made Miraz gasped in shock of what he saw and couldn't believe his eyes.
Miraz: Impossible....
Miraz needed to tell this to council but had to tell him in his own words so that he doesn't look suspicious or that everyone will know that he was the one who killed Caspian The Ninth and tried to killed Caspian The Tenth. On his way, the council has already started and Lord Sopespian spoke about Miraz.
Sopespian: I warned this council when it put its trust in Lord Miraz...there would be consequences.
Telmarine Lord: No. No we can't accuse the Lord Protector without proof.
Scythley: How long are we going to hide behind that excuse? Until every chair in this chamber is empty?
Miraz: Lords of the council, I apologize for being late. I wasn't aware we were in session.
Sopespian: No doubt you were otherwise occupied.
Miraz: My lord?
Scythley: Ever since the death of Caspian The Ninth, you've behaved as if you were king. Now it seems that from behind these walls even Prince Caspian has gone missing.
Sopespian: My deepest condolences, Lord Miraz. Imagine, losing your nephew, the rightful heir to the throne, on the very night your wife has blessed you with a son.
Miraz: Thank you, Lord Sopespian. Your compassion is a boon in this troubled time.
Soepespian: I trust you can tell us how such a tragedy could have occurred.
Miraz looked and saw Glozelle and nods that things are ready to be presented. Miraz stood and walked towards the empty throne to get all the lords attention.
Miraz: That is the most disturbing news of all. Our beloved Caspian was abducted...
Telmarine Lords(Thought): Abducted?
Miraz: By Narnians.(Miraz saids then all the lords laugh at his answer)
Scythley: You go too far, Miraz. You expect us to stand by while you blame such a blatant crime on fairy tales?
Miraz gave the sign to Glozelle who opened the door and came in two soldiers holding the dwarf known as Trumpkin who was tied up and mouth covered that left the whole council in absolute shock of what they were seeing before them.
Miraz: You forget, my lords...Narnia was once a savage land. Fierce creatures roamed free. Much of our forefather's blood was shed to exterminate this vermin. Or so we thought. But while we've been bickering amongst ourselves...they've been breeding like cockroaches under a rock! Growing stronger, watching us....waiting to (SLAPS Trumpkin) strike!
Trumpkin: And you wonder why we don't like you.
Miraz: Well, I intend to strike back. Even if I have to cut down the entire forest..I will assure you I will I find Prince Caspian and finish what our ancestors began.
Miraz(Whisper): Tell me dwarf is she still around, it has been hundreds of years since she last shown herself, tell me is your precious queen still alive or has she abandoned you? Hm?
Trumpkin:.....
Miraz: So be it. Dispose of this filth, take him down stream and let him sink to the bottom.(Miraz saids as the guards took Trumpkin away)
Back with the Pevensie's, after they discovered that the ruins they saw was their home Cair Paravel, they went to look for answers to why was it destroyed and who attacked it. Edmund looked around saw something large stones and a piece of castle with cracks meaning the castle was indeed attacked and whoever attacked the castle used catapults.
Edmund: Catapults.
Peter: What?
Edmund: This didn't just happened. Cair Paravel was attacked.
Susan: By who though?
Peter: Better check to see if the treasure room is still in tacked. Ed help me with this.
Both Peter and Edmund moved towards the pillar and pushed it to the side and behind it revealed an old wooden door. Peter knocks off the door handle and opens the door but it was too dark too see from down below. He then ripped off his shirt and found a stick to wrapped it around so he can make a torch but he didn't have any matches.
Peter: Don't suppose you have any matches, do you?
Edmund: No, but would this help?(Edmund saids and takes out his flashlight)
Peter: You might have mentioned that a bit sooner.
The four of them headed down the stairs and when they got down Lucy looked and saw the treasure room still in tack as well as the chests that contain everyones treasures and gear within them. They went to their chest to see what was in them.
Peter: Can't believe it, it's all still here.
Lucy: I was so tall.
Susan: Well you were olden then.
Edmund: As opposed to hundred of years later...when you're younger.(Edmund saids puts on a big helmet)
Susan: That's strange I thought it would be here?
Lucy: What is it?
Susan: My horn. I must've left it on my saddle the day we went back.
Peter goes to his chest and opens it and finds his sword, and reads the inscription on the blade.
Peter: When Aslan bares his teeth, winter meets its death.
Lucy: When he shakes his mane...we shall have spring again. Everyone we knew...Mr.Tumnus and the Beavers....they're all gone...
Edmund: And what about Elizabeth?
Susan: She can't be....you don't think she could, right.
Peter: I think it's time we found out what is going on.
Edmund: Hey, her chest is still here.(Edmund saids and see's Elizabeth's chest next to Lucy's)
They go to it and opened it and what they found was nothing but a letter wrapped up and none of Elizabeth's belongings inside.
Lucy: Her stuff is gone.
Susan: Maybe this letter that was inside may tell what happened.
Peter: Then let's see. To my dearest brothers and sisters wherever you may be. It's written in her hand writing, this was from her.
Edmund: What does it say?
Peter: It saids...
Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy,
If you are four a reading this it means the Narnia you knew is no more. After your disappearance which I spent my life trying to find you but couldn't, you vanished without a trace. Myself and the Narnian's tried to look for you but no such luck until everything changed and not in a good way. Narnia was invaded by the people who hail from the land of Telmar lead by their ruthless tyrant King Caspian The First. He attacked Cair Paravel and many braves souls made a last stand to defend our home including myself but we were outmatched and slain. The people of Telmar, The Telmarines took over the land and brought Narnia into a dark age and all the magic including the talking animals went into hiding and retreated back into the woods, I fought as hard as I could but I couldn't bare to watch anymore of my people die so I did what I can to keep them safe and protected.
If your wondering how long have you been gone since then well lets just say time changes different here in Narnia and on earth. I don't know how long you four have been gone for probably a year or so but here in Narnia it's been 1300 years, I have been keeping the Narnian's protected for all those years as well as the new generation who descended from the Narnain's that came before them. For 1300 years the Telmarines has reined over Narnia and the kings who ruled were the absolute worst but I held hope that one day Narnia would be restored and the magic itself will thrive like in the golden age. Know this I am alive and well, hundreds of years have past but I don't seem to age which is odd maybe it was the deep magic that kept my life sustained for so long. Just to tell that I love you four so much but I was deeply upset that you left, things haven't been the same since you left and it might take time for to try and forgive you four for leaving Narnia.
Sincerely, Your big sister High Queen Elizabeth, The Wise
After finished reading Lucy burst into tears in which Susan hugged her to keep her comfort while Peter and Edmund looked down in sadness that if they didn't leave then they would have stayed and helped Elizabeth but they cannot change the past.
Lucy: 😢sniff.....I want to see her...I want to see her so much.
Susan: Shhh, it's all right Lucy. We're going to find her.
Edmund: I can't believe 1300 years have passed. I mean we were gone for a year, how could 1300 years have passed.
Peter: It's like she said in the letter, time changed differently here then on earth. But Susan's right we're gonna find Elizabeth and makes things right. Let's get ourselves prepared and move out.
The Pevensie's found fitting closes and got themselves geared up and left the ruins of Cair Paravel and back to the shoreline. Unknown to them a small boat with two Telmarines were rowing down stream with a certain dwarf that was tied up and was giving one of the soldiers a look.
Telmarine Soldier 1: He won't stop staring.
Telmarine Soldier 2: So don't look.
Trumpkin continued to stare at the first Telmarine soldier in which the man was getting the creeps of seeing the dwarf stare at him and thought of getting rid of the dwarf right now.
Telmarine Soldier 1: Here's far enough.
The soldiers grabbed the dwarf and was about to throw him into the water until an arrow hit the boat that got the attention of the three. They looked and saw it was Susan who shot the arrow and behind her was Lucy, Edmund and Peter armed with their swords.
Susan: Drop him!
Trumpkin(Muttered): Crows and crockery!
The soldiers threw Trumpkin into the water while they were trying to get their crossbow to shoot Susan but she shot and killed the first soldier while the other one jumped over board and swam across the other side. Peter dived into the water and rescued Trumpkin while goes to get the boat. Now on shore Lucy comes over with her dagger and cuts Trumpkin loose while he tries to catch his breath.
Trumpkin: Cough! Cough...."Drop Him"! That's best you can come up with?
Susan: A simple "thank you" would suffice.
Trumpkin: They were doing fine drowning me without your help.
Peter: Maybe we should've let them.
Lucy: Why were they trying to kill you anyway?
Trumpkin: They're Telmarines, it's what they do.
Edmund: Telmarines? Just like in the note. Telmarines invaded Narnia.
Trumpkin: Where've you been for the last few hundred years?
Lucy: It's a bit of a long story.
Trumpkin finally caught his breath and looked to see Susan handing Peter his sword that the dwarf recognizes and then looked behind the four and saw the ruins of Cair Paravel. The idea clicked and he looked upon the four in shock and couldn't believe who he was seeing.
Trumpkin: Oh, you've got to be kidding me. You're it? You're the kings and queens of old.
Peter: High King Peter, The Magnificent.(Peter saids and holds out his hand to Trumpkin)
Susan: You probably could've left off the last bit.
Trumpkin: Hehehe, probably.
Peter: You might be surprised.(Peter saids and takes out his sword)
Trumpkin: Oh you don't want to do that boy.
Peter: Not me, him.(Peter saids then looks to Edmund who takes out his own sword)
Trumpkin took Peter's sword and soon both him and Edmund had a small duel where the clashed swords but the dwarf slapped Edmund in the face but Edmund got the upper hand and slapped the dwarf from behind with his sword and that got the dwarf mad. The two clashes swords again and this time Edmund was getting the upper hand now in which Trumpkin couldn't keep up and soon lost the grip on the sword and fell to the ground in shock.
Trumpkin: Beards and bedsteads! Maybe that horn worked after all.
Susan: What horn?
Trumpkin told them about a young prince who blew the horn that belonged to Susan and the horn was heard from miles meaning the other Narnians heard it.
Peter: You think you can show us where to find the others.
Trumpkin: Might as well, it's not like I got anything else to do.
Lucy: Sorry but I don't believe we ever got your name.
Trumpkin: The names Trumpkin, your majesty.
Lucy: It's a pleasure to meet you.
Trumpkin: No wonder Elizabeth likes to talk about you so much.
Edmund: Elizabeth, you mean our sister. You know her?
Trumpkin: High Queen Elizabeth, yes I know her she looked after us for many hundreds of years. Keeping us safe and protected from our enemies. A very gifted and kind young lady she is. She often tells us stories about the golden age of Narnia as well as you four.
Lucy: Is she alive? Where is she?
Trumpkin: Last I saw was over a month ago, but I know for a fact that she is indeed alive and well. And is always watchful while in the woods. Nothing gets passed by those eyes of hers.
Lucy: That sounds like Elizabeth to me. Thank you for telling us that our sister is all right.
Trumpkin: You're welcome, your majesty.
Back with a certain prince, he was starting to wake up from some kind of slumber but felt his head hurt. His eyes opened and looked to see where he was and it wasn't the forest. He then heard some voices coming from the other room.
Nikabrik: This bread is so stale.
Trufflehunter: I'll just give him some soup. He should be coming around soon.
Nikabrik: I don't think I hit him hard enough.
Trufflehunter: Nikabrik you heard what she said, he's just a boy.
Nikabrik: He's a Telmarine, not some lost puppy. I heard you were gonna get rid of him.
Trufflehunter: No. I said I will take care of him. And besides we can't kill him it's not what Elizabeth wants. I just bandaged the boys head. It would be murdering a guest.
Nikabrik: Oh and how do you think his friends are treating their guest?
Trufflehunter: Trumpkin knew what he was doing. It's not the boy's fault.
Caspian went to make a quick dashed for the exit but was blocked off by Nikabrik who pointed his sword at him while Caspian used a piece of metal by the fire to block the attacks.
Trufflehunter: Stop! Stop. Hold it. No, no!
Nikabrik: I told you we should have killed him when we had the chance.
Trufflehunter: You know why we can't.
Caspian: If we are taking a vote, I am with him.(Caspain saids then points to the badger)
Nikabrik: We can't let him go. He's seen us.
Trufflehunter: That's enough, Nikabrik! Or do I have to sit on your head again? And as for you, you at what you made me do...I spent all afternoon making that soup.
Caspian: What...what are you?
Trufflehunter: You know it's funny, they think they know what a badger is if they saw one.
Caspian: No no I mean...you're Narnian's. You're suppose to extinct.
Nikabrik: Sorry to disappoint you.
Trufflehunter: There we go still hot.
Nikabrik: Since when did we open a boarding house for Telmarine soldiers?
Caspian: I am not a soldier, I am Prince Caspian The Tenth.
Nikabrik: What are you doing here?
Caspian: Running away. My uncle has always wanted my throne. I suppose I have only lived this long because he did not have an heir of his own.
Trufflehunter: Oh...that changes things.
Nikabrik: Yea. Means we don't have to kill you ourselves.
Caspian: You're right.(Caspian saids and gets his things)
Trufflehunter: Where are you going?
Caspian: My uncle won't stop until I am dead.
Trufflehunter: But...you can't leave. You're meant to save us.
Caspian: What?
Trufflehunter: Don't you know what this is?(Trufflehunter saids and holds up the horn)
Caspian then turned and heard footsteps coming into the house and looked to see both Orion and Elizabeth standing before him.
Elizabeth: I see that he is awake.
Nikabrik: Yea and a made little mess of the place.
Caspian: Sorry but who are you?
Elizabeth: Guess not many people know of me, how sad. Names Elizabeth. High Queen Elizabeth, The Wise please to you meet Prince Caspian.
Caspian: High Queen Elizabeth....I have heard stories about you and many thought you were....
Elizabeth: There are a lot of things people don't know about me. How your head?
Caspian: It's fine, but who is this with you?
Orion: The names Orion, pleasure to meet you.
Caspian: Likewise. But why show yourself now?
Elizabeth: Let's just say my young prince, everything is going to change and you are the one who can help us achieve this change.
Orion: And you won't be alone in this. And there is something you need to know about the horn you blew.
Elizabeth: It's not any ordinary horn.
Caspian: Then tell me what it is, please.
Elizabeth: We have some things to talk about, young prince.
Orion: And it could save your life.
