Chapter Two

I arrived at the Dancing Lawn to find that Jonas was already waiting for me.

"Hey, Elsa."

"Hi, Jonas."

He pulled me in for a hug. I liked the feeling of hugs, I always had. I mean, my mother never had time to eat breakfast with me, let alone hug me, and I couldn't exactly hug Maugrim properly; he is a wolf, after all.

He pulled away and took my hand. "So, how was your day so far?" he smirked, his brown eyes shining.

"Okay. Mother actually had breakfast with me today."

"Really? How was that?"

"No different than any other day."

We started walking aimlessly through the woods, like we always would. I always looked forward to the time we spent together.

Suddenly, the snow started falling. Totally romantic. I looked over at Jonas to see him sticking out his tongue, trying to catch a snowflake on it. I laughed. He looked at me through the corner of his eye, then realized that I was looking at him and put his tongue back into his mouth. He smiled.

"What? Can't a guy catch snowflakes on his tongue once in awhile? It doesn't snow much in Archenland."

"Well.... I guess it wouldn't be so bad...." I smiled, sticking my tongue out, trying to catch a snowflake.

"Alright then!" he stuck his tongue out as well.

We both burst out laughing, sitting on the snow-covered ground. I loved moments like these with Jonas.
