I turned from the window as soon as Jonas had left and saw Maugrim standing almost directly behind me. My eyes widened in shock. Maugrim didn't know about Jonas, because I figured he would tell mother if he found out. So this was definitely not what I was hoping to see when I came back home.

"Maugrim," I greeted, my voice shaking along with the rest of my body, "Hi."

"Hello, Elsa," he replied sternly. He walked closer to me and motioned for me to kneel down so that I was level with him. "Where have you been?"

I laughed nervously, shrugging my shoulders. "Oh, you know, just.... out."

"Mmm...." he nodded, showing that he wasn't going to accept that for an answer.

I sighed. "Promise you won't tell mother?"

"Not if it causes you harm."

"It doesn't. I promise."

"Very well. I won't tell your mother. But you have to tell me what it is that I'm not telling her."

I inhaled sharply. "Well, you see, years ago, I met this boy from Archenland, Jonas. We became really close and have been hanging out almost every day since."

"Now, why would I tell your mother that?"

"I don't know, it's just that you follow all of her orders, and she doesn't like it when I go out without her permission...."

"And if she found out about Jonas you'd be grounded for life." Maugrim finished for me.

"Basically."

"Well, there's no need to worry. My lips are sealed."

"Thank you so much Maugrim," I smiled, hugging him.

"You're welcome, kiddo. Just lock the door next time you leave."

I laughed. "Will do."

It's been a while, hasn't it, readers? Sorry about the short chapter; it's kind of a filler. Although I have taken into consideration @NessaTheFangirl's and @frozenfreak17's ideas, and I have thoughts as to how I'm going to use them in the next few chapters.
