(Author's Note: Howdy y'all, considering it has been uhhh SEVERAL years since I've last uploaded, I'm genuinely unsure if people will even still be interested in me continuing, even so, I still want to get to the end of this season at the very least as I feel it was really unfair of me to just leave the story right in the middle of this Volume for the ones who had the slight hope that there'd be a new chapter. As some of you may know, I really fell out of RWBY up until very recently when I decided to sit down and rewatch and catch up with every episode currently out at this moment. And while yes, I still have some gripes about the series, I still understand why I loved the world of Remnant so much while I was going through high school. Now then, that's enough venting. You'll probably notice the way I write will likely seem a bit different than how I used to write, I'm am trying to mimic how I used to write in a way but there's only so much I can do in that regard. Along with that, I'll admit I'm still rusty on the lore that I wrote myself for this book. So, if I forget an ability or a small plot element from previous chapters, feel free to remind me in the comments. Another thing to note is that reading back I definitely got a biiiit carried away with how STRONG the Chronicle is, Which to my younger self's credit did do a decent job explaining why they were really powerful, still do note that I'll be likely scaling down the strength of his powers just a bit. I reread [well skimmed through important sections I remember] the series so I definitely remember the big plot points I wanted to bring The Chronicle through, however, the original plan on actually getting there has been lost in my head but I've already conjured up a pretty good plan, now that I have a few Volumes to kind of anticipate what will happen in the story gives me the chance to set up a few ideas I have. Regardless, I will continue to do my best and ensure that I can deliver on something you all can enjoy reading. Thanks for everything, guys.)

RWBY Volume 6 (Chapter 6): An Ill Omen

Despite you putting what must be several dozen miles between you and that horrible farm, you still can't help but feel an odd sense of dread peering over your shoulder. The entire group saw those horrid lavender embers that escaped your eye and you simply know for a FACT that Qrow will have several questions for you, Raiden as well. You're frankly scared at this point to look into your own Soul to see what damage must've taken place within it when you got THAT close to completely losing it, Cole's been silent since then too...you'll have to check up on him, there's no telling what could've happened inside your Soul at those last moments before Ruby decided to use her eyes to basically nuke the Apathy Grimm. The group has had enough bad news as it is, if someone ends up asking, you know you'll feel compelled to tell the truth yet...you fear how they'll end up seeing you, especially after the entire situation with Ozpin's and Salem's past being revealed being taken uh not so well, to put it lightly. All these thoughts have been rummaging within your head, and you're completely aware of the fact that Ruby has certainly noticed this shift in your behavior since retreating from those Apathy Grimm, she hasn't said anything just yet. For now, she sits by your side, attentively listening to Maria, occasionally glancing over at you. You've noticed your mind has trailed off from listening to Maria's story on how she lost her vision and her, apparently, extremely useful Silver eyes.

From what you've been able to tune into, she used to be quite the badass. Saying she took down down a Nevermore and several other Grimm just by staring at them really hard? You'd honestly think it'd be a bit hard to believe such a power actually exists if you hadn't watch your own girlfriend do it. That and just a few years ago you wouldn't have believed you had a mythical Leviathan that gave you your abilities...well at least she used to, so this doesn't seem that far out in terms of credibility. From glances you've had from around the wagon, you can tell Qrow in particular seems quite astounded by her. Especially with the revelation that this sweet looking (albeit very sassy) woman once was the Grimm Reaper, you've heard slight rumors from fellow classmates back in Beacon about the Grimm Reaper, but you never suspected that you'd actually meet her one day. She just finished wrapping up the story on how she lost her eyes to the hands of a crocodile Faunus and how she rather brutally dealt with her, you can't even imagine just how painful loosing your eyes like that must've been.

Maria: "But I wasn't... I went into hiding soon after." She has a rather solemn expression worn on her face as she glances back to look at you all, as rightfully so they all wear wide-eyed expressions, well everyone except for Sophie, who is just passed out, laying her head on Raiden's leg.

Qrow: (astounded) "I can't believe it. You... You're the Grimm Reaper, you were a legend! And then you disappeared..." You have to admit a title like the 'Grimm Reaper' is so damn cool. Great now you want a title...well you technically do but still, you can always have TWO titles.

Oscar: "How exactly does a legend just disappear?"

Qrow: "You never used your name, never showed your face. Lots of us thought you were just layin' low. Eventually, we just came to accept that you were probably dead. But the stories about you, I based my weapon off of yours. I wanted to be as good as the Grimm Reaper." You definitely wasn't aware of that fact...so from a certain point of a view, Ruby's Crescent Rose was also partially inspired by the Grimm Reaper then, since Ruby told you about how she based her Scythe off of Qrow's, that's awesome. 

Maria: "Well, I'm nothing but a disappointment, so you're well on your way." D A M N. That's gotta hurt, you genuinely aren't sure if that was meant to be an insult to Qrow but it certainly FELT like it at least.

Blake: "How can you say that?"

Raiden: "Yeah, you inspired thousands of children with the stories told about you, that can't have meant nothing." Raiden says as Sophie stirs from her small power nap as she yawns and rubs her eye, now slightly confused on what's happening, you'll be sure to tell her what happened later.

Maria: "I appreciate the sentiment...but a Huntress is supposed to protect others to the bitter end. But after I lost my eyes, I only ever looked after myself. Even after my surgery, I was too afraid to fight. Afraid someone would find me again, finish what the others started. You shouldn't aspire to be like me, especially when some of you are clearly stronger already." She states gesturing to you all, which now that you think about it. This is a rather powerful group all things considered, from Ruby's Silver Eyes and speed, Yang's strength and temper, your uh- Chronicleness, Raiden's superb skill, Weiss's Glyphs and Blake basically being a ninja yeah this is a pretty stacked team.

Maria: "It's... comforting, seeing that your generation seems up to the task of inheriting this world. I'm just sorry I didn't do more to leave it in better shape." Her words strike a chord in you, just from this short interaction with her you can feel a lifetime of regrets that she carries with her every day. You can't help but feel pity over this old lady who clearly has been through much in her lifetime.

Ruby: "Well, maybe you can do something now. Teach me to use my powers the way you did." You feel like that is absolutely a fantastic idea. Salem is already hell-bent on chasing after Ruby for her eyes, might as well teach her how to use them, everyone knows that really old short people have profound wisdom. 

There's a slight pause as Maria looks back at Ruby, You jump slightly as you feel buzzing coming from Ruby, you glance over and hear that her Scroll's ringing. Ruby pulls her Scroll out and gasps in excitement, you try to look over her shoulder to see who's calling but before you can actually see she yells.

Ruby: "It's Jaune!" Your eyes widen in shock. You feel the bike stop quite suddenly as you all slightly lurch forwards before regaining your balance as Yang stops her bike, looking back in surprise. As everyone including yourself let out a 'Huh?' sound as you're all quite confused on how Jaune is contacting you guys.

Weiss: "How?"

Ruby: "Uh, hello?" She says answering her Scroll, as you slightly lean against Ruby to try to listen in better

Jaune(Scroll): "Ruby! Oh, thank you! I've been checking my Scroll for your signal since we made it to the city!"

Ruby: "The city? Wait..." Ruby looks at her Scroll, which now that you're this close to her you can clearly look over her shoulder to see she named Jaune as 'Vomit Boy'. You nearly choke on your spit trying not to bust out laughing but manage to keep your composure as now that you get a good look they definitely have signal now. She points the scroll infront of her as the signal gets stronger. Wait are you really actually that close? You all glance up to see that ahead of you is a hill, Yang starts to drive once again as you noticed the snow on the ground eventually stopping as you reach its peak as Yang stops on the top of the hill. You all look astonished and relieved as you can see the walled city of Argus right by the ocean, it's an utter breath taking sight as Ruby reaches her hand back, grasping it over yours. 

Yang: "Ladies and gentlemen, we have arrived in Argus." She says with a warm smile, you take a deep breath and sigh.

You: "Fiiinnaallly, felt like that took us like... 4 years." The crew all look at you strangely as you're not sure why they seem so confused.

Ruby: "Uh (F), it's only been like a few weeks." You narrow your eyes as you have the strangest feeling like it felt like WAAAY longer than that. Meh, must've simply been your imagination then, anyways onwards to Argus!

(Slightly Later)

Once you get actually get to the entrance of the city, you all pretty quickly realize that you all can't exactly keep Bumblebee and the trailer around so you all quickly find a garage to put it in. As Yang just finished up locking them both in the garage she joins you all as you all glance around your surroundings.  You and Oscar both glance up at the enormous wall that encompasses the city, for a non-capital city this place is BIG, you glance at the massive amounts of people around you as Sophie is sticking to your side slightly, maybe she doesn't do that well with large crowds.

Sophie: "So uh...how are we even supposed to find th-" Before she can even finish her sentence, in a blinding speed that somehow rivaled both your Tempest Mode and Ruby's, you see the familiar pink skirt and bright orange hair of Nora as you smile slightly before your eyes narrow seeing she begins to lift her arm up.

Nora: "Cuuute! Booooy! OZZZZZZZ!!!" Uh oh-, you feel like Oscar's in danger now as you glance over to see it's too late as you only see the poor boy's confused face for a second only to then be tackled quite violently to the ground by Nora. 

Nora: "Oh, come here!" She yells as Sophie is now noticeably missing from your side, you look to see that she's now crouched over slightly looking at Oscar somewhat worried from the utter devastation Nora accidentally put him through "You too, lil' bun!" Nora yells as she looks up and then grabs Sophie to also pull her in to the hug as well as the small Faunus girl lets out a frightened 'EEP!' sound. 

You glance behind the forcibly hugging trio and notice that Jaune and Ren are making their way towards you, you do feel relieved to see them again, felt like it's been ages since you've last been around them.

Ren: "Are you all okay?" Yang and Ren approach each other and give each other a hug, Raiden then walks up behind Yang as Ren and Raiden both give each other a sincere smile and nod.

Raiden: "Eh, we'll live." Raiden says with a shrug, your eyes feel glazed over. Despite this being a happy reunion you feel pretty disconnected, you're happy of course but after the situation with Solar at that village you still seem pretty out of it, maybe you'll get over it once you've gotten some actual rest.

Jaune: "We were so worried!" Jaune and Blake then hug each other as Weiss then walks right up to the both of them.

Yang: "It's been kind of a crazy trip." You end up walking alongside Ruby as she glances back at you with a smirk, her Silver Eyes are staring right at you, as beautiful as they are, you feel like they're piercing directly into your being. Once again, you know she can tell something's off but for now she simply glances away.

Weiss: "That's an understatement." 

Nora: "Wait, who's the old lady?" Nora says while pointing at Maria who gives her a rather stern look. You glance over to where Ruby was standing to see that she's walking over to Jaune now, you're about to walk over there yourself when you feel a tug at the back of your jacket's hood, you glance back to see Qrow is holding you back slightly from the rest of the group.

Qrow: "Hey, don't think that we're just gonna gloss over what happened back at the village, Raiden told me what happened in the sewer and I KNOW that you made that crater in the woods. If there's something these past few days have proven, it's that hiding important information from this group and especially HER." He points to Ruby who's now hugging Jaune, you can see her talking to him now  "It just won't work." 

You glance downwards, he's absolutely right, but how exactly are you gonna tell them? Can't exactly go 'Hey guys, turns out I'm actively becoming the absolute worst case scenario as we speak! Dunno how much longer I can keep the nightmare snake deity at bay, good luck with sleeping tonight!'. You look onwards to Ruby who's smiling with Jaune as you genuinely hope that you can find a way to tell them what's been happening.

(More Slightly Later)

After finally reconnecting with everyone, you all decide to hop on a trolley as it heads through the city. You've been noticeably pretty quiet since Qrow pulled you aside, there hasn't exactly been a prime moment for you to announce what's been happening to yourself, nor would you think it'd be appropriate considering everyone for once seems like they're in a happy mood. For now you'll just force down those anxieties and put on the smile you used to have.

Yang: "It's a lot bigger than I thought it'd be." Bow chicka bow- no-. Your eyes glance around all over the city you're all passing through as Yang is absolutely right, you knew Argus was decently sized but this is pretty massive. Maybe if you get the chance later, you and Ruby can explore and have a little mini-date.

Ren: "It's actually one of the largest non-capital cities in all of Remnant."

Ruby: She gasps "No way! But wait, wouldn't it be harder to settle something this big away from the main Kingdom?" 

Jaune: "Well, it was, until Mantle showed up. Early settlement attempts by Mistral didn't go well. But colonists from Mantle were able to help them brave the cold climate and return for goods that Solitas couldn't provide."

Ren: "The two nations worked together to create a hybrid city. While it falls under Mistral domain, Atlas keeps a military presence here to help keep the people safe and keep trade between the two nations steady." Oh, that's surprising you'd think with how Atlas has been lately they'd be a bit more stri-

Nora: "Well, until recently..." Nora says, interrupting your thoughts, you stand corrected as you all begin to hop off the trolley, when you hop off the trolley you decide to be all gentleman like and offer your hand in and do a slight bow to Ruby, she looks at you with a confused yet amused smile.

You: "Might I help you down, my dear?" You say having an overexaggerated fancy accent, Ruby giggles slightly, rolling her eyes playfully as she does a small curtsy bow and takes your hand.

Ruby: "Ah why thank you my good sir. What a jolly good gentleman you are." She says returning the fancy accent, laughing a bit as she steps off the trolley, still grasping onto each other's hands as you glance around.

Blake: "We should probably start looking for a ship." Like a boat ship or an airship?

Oscar: "So, where have you guys been staying?" Oscar says glancing back at Jaune as they step off of the trolley.

Jaune: "Uh..." Jaune chuckles while rubbing the back of his neck embarrassed as you glance behind him and see a blond woman carrying her child.

Blond Woman: "There you are!" You all look over at the woman as she waves back at the group...wait hold up a second, now that you get a decent look at her she looks kinda like...

Yang: "Is that...?" The dots connect in your head as your eyes widen.

Jaune: "Heeeey, Saph." Jaune says in a rather unconfident voice as he waves back. Ruby quickly zooms in between the two of them, looking back and forth as her eyes are getting growing in size, literal stars inside of them as she lets out a gasp upon realizing this is one of Jaune's sisters

(Even More Slightly Later)

You've all now gone into Saphron's home as you're sitting on the arm of the couch next to Ruby as there's well...no room for you to actually sit down, Yang, Weiss and Sophie are all on the ground playing with Saphron's kid as you smile softly.

Ruby: "I can't believe I'm meeting your sister! I have so many questions." 

Nora: "Oh, I can give you the rundown later!"

Jaune: "Will you guys knock it off?" Jaune looks incredibly unamused, sitting with his neck hung low, shoulders up and arms crossed. You suppress your laughter as you don't want Jaune to feel anymore embarrassed then he must already feel.

Saphron: "What? I love telling stories about my baby brother." Saphron then grabs Jaune's cheek, he groans as he slaps away and flails his arms at her. Raiden approaches behind you and lowers himself slightly to talk into your ear.

Raiden (Whispers):"Aren't you glad I never treated you like that?"

You(Whispers): "I would rather just die at that point if you ever did." Raiden places a hand on your shoulder and ruffles your hair before standing back up straight again.

Jaune: "I am not a baby! THAT is a baby." He says while aggressively pointing at Adrian, with a stern look in his eyes, but surprisingly the baby just looks back and huffs back with an equally sassy attitude, alright you like this small child. The little sassy baby's actions caused Yang, Weiss, AND Sophie to get all wide-eyed and begin all fussing over Adrian's adorableness. Each of them make practically incoherent baby talk at him.

Yang: "Aww, you're so cute! Yes you are! Oh, look at your little face!" You glance back at Raiden with a smug look on your face as Raiden raises an eyebrow.

Raiden(Quietly): "Don't you da-"

You(Quietly): "You wish that was you huh?" Raiden looks like he's about ready to stab you a second time in the chest at this point as you stick your tongue out teasingly as he rolls his eyes.

Weiss: "Aww, coochie-coochie! Aw, baby!" You're honestly surprised to see that Weiss actually LIKES kids, you'd think someone of her well...Weissness would want nothing to do with them, eh, you guess she DOES have a younger brother, even if he is a massive asshole from the stories Weiss has told of him.

Blake: "So Saphron, you're the only Arc living here?" From where you're sitting you glance over and see a picture on the bookshelf of all the Arc siblings together, which...good Gods, poor Jaune is in the center with pigtails looking like he craves death while holding a sign that says "HELP" on it while each of his sisters do crazy things around him. You're suddenly very grateful to only have the one big brother, though you suppose you do now have a younger sister...Ah wait doesn't that technically make you the middle child? Crap. You glance over to see that Saphron is messing with Jaune's face, stopping as she looks at Blake.

Saphron: "Yep! Moved the second I could. Jaune and I are the only two living away from home. I guess he just wanted to be like his big sis." She says in a teasing voice.

Jaune: "I, uh..." He groans as Saphron slids in and leans against Jaune for a moment.

Saphron: "Aw, you didn't deny it!" She says endlessly teasing her baby brother. The both of them start pulling at each other's cheeks, play fighting with one another. You glance over from them as you hear a door opening. You see a dark-haired woman with glasses walking in with bags of groceries.

Saphron: "Everyone, this is my wife, Terra Cota." Oh cool like that one block in that game you used to play all the time, it was called like DigBuild or ExcavateConstruct, you don't quite remember. You all greet Terra with a smile

Ruby/You: "Hello!"

Nora: "Hey there!"

Blake: "Nice to meet you." Terra chuckles

Terra: "Why, hello there! Wow, quite a party, you weren't kidding. Hun, can I get some help please?" Your eyes glance over to see that Saphron quickly runs over to help Terra.

(Even MORE Slightly Later)

Weiss: "And you're sure it's alright if we stay with you?" You are absolutely starving, Jaune, Ren and Nora are in the kitchen making food, and you just KNOW you're going to be given and eat an UNHOLY amount of sandwiches.

Saphron: "Of course, we're happy to house Huntsmen and Huntresses." One of Raiden's eyebrows raises.

Raiden: "Even this one? He'll run through your entire pantry if you let him...the little one too." He says while ruffling your hair and glancing down at Sophie with a smirk.

Terra: "Of course, You all risk so much to keep people like us safe. It's the least we can do. Paying a bit extra for groceries is no hassle." Uh sure 'a bit'. She says with a smirk as she then turns to Qrow "Especially for such an elite Huntsman like yourself. Although, I will say I was surprised to learn you had students helping you. Is that even... legal?" Pffft who cares if it's legal or not. Qrow, not paying attention, gets his arm bumped by Ruby as his eyes widen in surprise.

Qrow: "Uh, of course. Think of it as an extended training mission. Trust me, I was a professor. Even went to the same academy as them. Let me tell ya, these kids are way better than we were at their age." Your eyes glance over to see that Jaune, Ren and Nora are walking back into the room with plates full of sandwiches. You see Nora specifically holding 2 plates that are utterly STACKED with sandwiches,  Nore gives you a cheeky look as you, Ruby and Sophie gasp happily upon seeing them.

Qrow: "Well, not better than me specifically, but a lot of students--"

Ruby/You: "Shut up, there's food!" You both yell at the same time as they begin to pass out the plates with sandwiches. 

Everyone begins to eat with bright look on their faces, Sophie is already ravaging through several sandwiches as Adrian looks onward in astonishment. You make your way through about 9 sandwiches until...you begin to slow down? You hold your stomach as you seem EXTREMELY confused, the hell is this feeling?

Raiden: "You okay (F)? You've barely touched your food." Ruby looks back from eating to look at you, you do find it ironic that you barely touching your food is already far more than what everyone else can handle...still...you somehow feel...full????

You: "I'm uh...I'm good. I guess I'm just...not that hungry?" Even SAYING those words feel so wrong. You glance up to see that everyone in the room has stopped eating and are just staring at you in shock. Ruby in particular is just looking into your eyes, her Silver Eyes are just tearing straight into you.

Jaune: "But...that's...NEVER happened before?" Blake and Weiss exchange looks of concern over their face as Raiden's studying you carefully.

Nora: "I mean, y-yeah! They had to BAN you from hotdog eating competitions back in Vale cause you'd just eat EVERY competitor's food before they told you to start!"

Ren: "Don't forget the time they banned him from the cafeteria in Beacon for a week when they tried doing buffet style lunches. There'd never be enough for all the students after he came around, Professor Goodwitch quite literally had to throw you out." 

You: "Y-yeah I'm just as surprised as you all but...I'm just...full." You say as you are...actually REALLY concerned over that, there's never been a day in your life you've actually felt FULL...

Nora: "Are you feeling sick!?" She somehow manages to pop up in front of you looking at you and placing her hand on your head, checking your temperature.  "WE SPENT LIKE 300 MORE LIEN THAN WE WOULD'VE JUST TO FEED YOU-" 

Sophie: "Oh! Can I have the rest of your food then!?" The little faunus girl says while interrupting Nora, who ALSO popped up right in your face and infront of Nora who fell backwards not expecting it. Sophie looks at you with stars in her eyes as you look back at the still decent tower of sandwiches you have, you simply look back at Sophie smile softly and nod as Sophie immediately begins ravaging the stack you had left. You look down, the others are all glancing around at each other, exchanging looks of worry. As you can still tell Ruby is looking at you, don't need to be psychic to know that she is VERY concerned over you right now. Saphron and Terra share a look with each other, before the Terra's Scroll starts buzzing, diverting the attention from you, thankfully, Terra sighs.

Terra: "Excuse me, I'll be right back." Terra says while getting up and answering her Scroll, she walks out of the room "Hello?"

Blake: "Is everything okay?"

Saphron: Oh, yeah, it will be. Terra's a technician for the town's relay tower. Unfortunately, the military's radar system is also housed there. She looks down at Adrian in her arms and begins making baby talk at Adrian "Guess what's been on the fritz lately and who's getting falsely blamed."

Terra: "Me." Terra says poking her head back into the room pointing at herself.

Saphron: "So, what's your plan for tomorrow?" Ruby snaps out of staring at you worried, taking another quick bite of her sandwich as she tries to speak with her mouth full.

Ruby(Mouth Full): "Well..." She takes a gulp "We're trying to make our way to Atlas. We'll probably start with the military base." Nora and Ren share concerned looks as you raise an eyebrow confused as to why they're looking at each other like that.

Jaune: "So, we kind of already tried that, and... it didn't go... super great." Oh just wonderful, yet ANOTHER hurdle you guys have to go through, it can never just be simple huh?

Yang: "Come on, it couldn't be THAT bad..." Aaaannnd you feel like she just jinxed you guys.

(Later That Night)

You're standing right in front of the bathroom mirror, gazing right at your own face in almost a trance, having just taken a shower the mirror's slightly fogged up but it doesn't really matter to you. Your body is still drying off, so your shirt's off but you've put on some boxers as you rub your eyes tiredly, today was just too long of a day. You are just...not okay, you think. You can't really seem to put a coherent thought together, this whole time you've been utterly terrified of what your Soul looks like. It feels like a cruel twist of fate, that even the literal depths of your very core doesn't feel safe to enter. Cole's been completely silent since then too and that is rather concerning for you. You're even scared to have your eye burst into flames in fear of what color it'll end up being. 

Gods...you really miss Luna, she probably would've tried to ease any worries you had before teasing you BECAUSE you were worried in the first place...you've pushed it to the side for the sake of being strong for the others but...you've essentially lost a piece of who you are. From your literal birth she's been with you every single step of the way. Unknowingly to you, she protected you in every conceivable manner and stopped at nothing to make sure you knew you were worthy of holding the title of being the Chronicle.  Her presence is sorely missing, now there's just an aching hole in your chest that no matter how much you tried to hide it just doesn't ever go away. And now you're basically just a ticking time bomb, unknowingly getting closer to Solar's wicked fangs ensnaring you...you grip the side of your head tightly to the point of it hurting as you feel your mind continuously going numb, almost feels like there's a high-pitched constant ringing in your ears. You close your eyes as you dreadfully try to fight back the tears of fear and hatred you've felt brewing within you. You hear a knock on the door, you quickly wipe the corner of your eyes of the tears that began to well up, time to put on that smile once again.

Ruby: "You okay in there, hun?" You hear her voice muffled through the other side of the door, you glance back to see the handle turning as she slowly opens it, cutely peaking her head in with her hand 'covering' her eyes but clearly still peeking between her fingers. "Ya naked in here?" You softly smile as you roll your eyes playfully.

You: "Got underwear on so not fully, I guess."

Ruby: "Good enough!" She fully enters the bathroom and closes it behind her, your eyebrow raises slightly as you're a bit confused on why she entered. She's already dressed in her pajamas and looks just about ready to pass out for the night but she looks up at you, once again giving you that stare that she's had the whole day. "You know you can...talk to me, right?"

You: "Oh? Uh- yeah...of course I know that..." You say slightly glancing away from her as she slowly approaches you, tilting her head slightly to the side as her nose scrunches up slightly.

Ruby: "Hmmm, I don't think you do actually." You can feel her gaze at you still as you begin to feel a bit nervous, trying your best to not look at her. Her eyes just don't seem to leave you alone. "Your eyes tell me a different story, (F)."

You: "I..." You fall silent as that overwhelming sense of fear and sorrow just begin to take root in your heart, you clear your throat. "I'm uh...not sure what you mean." You say while walking towards the wall, leaning your back against it as Ruby has now walked right up to you, you're practically trembling as you attempt to stay nonchalant.

Ruby: "(F)...you haven't been able to look at me in the eyes this entire day..." Her hand slowly and smoothly raises up before being placed right on your cheek. Just a simple somber touch as already making your emotions spike as you are STRUGGLING to hold back your tears. Her hand is immaculately soft and her warmth just feels like it's piercing through you, she gently tilts your head so that you look down at her as she just stares at you with those mesmerizing Silver Eyes. 

Ruby: "I don't have to know how to read your mind to know something's wrong, hun...you know me better than that...what's wrong?" There's a long pause before you're able to work up the courage to actually speak without completely breaking down.

You: "I'm...terrified, Ruby...there's uh...something I need to tell everyone, something I've kept secret from you all but uh..." You barely manage to croak out through your crackling voice. Ruby looks at you with no judgement, you can only see that she truly wants to understand what's been bothering you. "I don't...feel...like myself anymore. Lately, I wake up to try to remember how I used to be but instead it just feels like I'm drowning further in sorrow and I just can't seem to get a break." You feel the warmness of your tears trailing down your face and landing gently around her hand that you've leaned into, your trembling has only gotten worse as you slowly slide down the wall, sitting on the floor as Ruby does the same.

Ruby: "My love...I'm so sorry you've been dealing with this. But it's okay for you to feel that way around us. You don't have to put on a fake smile for me... you know I can see right through it, just as I did today. But you NEED to tell us how you feel, we all feel like we're carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders...and in a way, I guess we kinda actually do nowadays." Ruby says with a half-chuckle with a sincere smirk, she leans forwards as she holds her forehead against yours, you both close your eyes as she sniffs .

Ruby:"And whatever you've been hiding, it doesn't matter to me, okay?" You hear her voice begin to break for a moment, she slightly opens her eyes as you do the same to look back at her, tears are going down her face as well  "There's absolutely nothing you could say or do that would EVER stop me from loving you...alright?"

You: "...I love you, Ruby." You say as you gently lower your face to press your lips against hers, due to the tears you've both been shedding it's a slightly salty taste, not that it really matters to you, she presses back against your kiss, you both softly melt into each other for a moment before she pulls away slightly to wrap her arms around you, you do the same as she buries her head in your chest.

Ruby: "I love you too, (F)." You both continue to embrace and cry into one another...her words resonating and repeating in your head over and over as the night goes on

(And that's a wrap for this chapter, obviously added that segment at the end there as we all know that you really do get your ass kicked around being the Chronicle and we could all use a Ruby Rose in our life to tell us it's okay to not be okay all the time. It's good to once again be able to sit down and type out these chapters like I used to, I don't expect that too many people will be reading these more recent chapters after all it's been so long but hey, I don't do it for the views, I do it so I can tell the story I want to tell. I hope y'all enjoyed this chapter and look forward to the next one...I promise the next one won't take another year for me to upload.)
