(Volume 4) Part 3: An Abrupt Awakening/The Legendary Pun-Off

A Few Weeks Later (Takes place after the end of Episode 4)

You've been training for a while now...and by a while it means that you've been training non-stop as your don't want to give up...it's kind of taking a toll on you but you've definitely made progress. Right now you can go up to 13% without any trouble...you feel a lot stronger, but that's because Luna has almost completed fixing your shattered Soul. The glowing light on your chest has dimmed by a lot, you can tell that you'll be joining up with Ruby and the others soon enough. Hopefully you can try to get the team back together...though from what you can tell...that's not going to be easy, especially with your brother. You collapse on the ground out of breath, even though this isn't your physical body, your stamina is dangerously low. (Okay I'm not gonna START OFF with the puns, cause I still need my story to work.)

Cole:"Again." For the past 2 days you've been focusing on moving the separate energies to your arms, but that's hard for you because of your screwed up right hand kinda throws the energies off balance and the fatigue isn't helping either. Also the damn liquid food you've been getting HAS NO DEAD ANIMALS IN IT! (Again, sorry to the Vegans and Vegetarians) You try to focus the energies again but end up out of breath and fall to your knees

Cole:"Get up, we're not done yet." You try to get up again but end up falling back down as Cole breaths out sharply...he's been VERY tough on you this entire time...Luna walks over and glances at you worried

Luna:"Actually, how about we take a bit of a break." Cole glares at Luna...But he then sighs and looks at your fatigued self

Cole:"Fine." You fall onto your back tired, and look up at the sky. Luna comes up to you as Cole begins to walk away.

You:"This is...a lot tougher than I thought it'd be."

Luna:"Yeah, but you have to push through."

You:"But it's just I don't know how to separate both of your energies as I draw more power from both of you. It's clear when I'm only using a little bit but when more power pours out it's easier for both of them to merge together. Not to mention the fact that my Soul isn't fully put back together yet...also Cole constantly criticizing me doesn't help."

Luna:"Well...Cole has been through a lot, he lost his kingdom, his brothers in arms, his wife, and just about everything else, he doesn't want the same to happen to you. So think of it like this. The more you practice and learn how our energies feel, the faster you'll learn how to separate the two, cause I'm sure you've already noticed how different it feels."

You:"...Alright." You sit up and look at the light coming from your chest, it's almost gone "I'm guessing I'm almost completely healed?"

Luna:"Is your Soul fixed? Yes. Are you healed? No."

You:"What do you mean?"

Luna:"I'm using all of your bodies energy directly into your Soul, your body hasn't had the chance to heal."

You:"...Oh..."

Luna:"I waited a bit to fix your Soul and used my energy to help heal some of your critical wounds like the massive slice through your chest. But once you get up you'll still need a bit more healing."

You:"So you've healed me before like whenever I destroy my arm with my Flare Smash?"

Luna:"Yep."

You:"Cool." You see Cole heading back towards you and slowly get up.

Cole: "Alright, we're starting up again. Focus harder this time."

You: sighs "Yes sir." You get back into position and start training yet again.

Xiao Long household (Yang's POV)

It's late at night, I've officially decided to use the new arm Ironwood gave to me, not gonna lie it's pretty kick-ass, dad decided to train me since I decided to stop groveling about the past. It's tough but I'm going after Ruby once I'm ready. But for now I've also gotta take care of (F), whose wounds haven't healed any further, not just his wounds, other things like his finger nails, and his hair hasn't even grown an inch...which is really weird, but the golden light beacon coming from him is getting really dim so maybe he'll wake up soon...honestly if and when he wakes up...it'll be tough on both of us, he still doesn't know about what happened to the team, Pyrrha, Ozpin, and everything really. And... nobody knows what happened to Raiden but (F) was the last one with him so he's the one who will be the most likely to know...but Raiden's sword in (F)'s chest when we found him has prepared me for the worst. Right now I'm just changing his I.V bag, which is much easier now that I have two arms again. Hmm, staring at the golden light shining from him, I can't help but think about what wonder what he's thinking about in there. Probably having something to do with my lil' sis or something peaceful along those lines...(Btw this part is going to have a lot of development with you and Yang so...yeah)

Cut to your training

You:"WHY IS EVERYTHING ON FIRE!?!?" ...The whole place is filled with golden flames. Cole just face palms and sighs as you freak out

Luna:"Oh...your Soul is completely fixed now. That's just my energy flooding back to me." The flames surround Luna as they vanish, you're still a little freaked out

You:"HOLD UP, WHAT!?"

Luna:"...I just said that your Soul is fixed...you can go back to the real world now..." Now your freaked out state has turned into one of pure excitement.

You:"REALLY!?" Luna nods "Then how do I get out?"

Luna:"Uh...I uh...don't know?"

You:"...What?"

Luna:"Uh just...kind of think about going back to your real body and it...should work? Maybe? I don't know..."

You:"...So...there's a chance I may not even be ABLE to go back to my real body!?"

Cole:"Just try it and you'll see...but know that we're not DONE training here, you can only get up to about 13% of both of our power. Since Luna here made your subconscious flow into your Soul you should be able to do it with ease from now on. So, find a place where you can 'meditate' and enter your Soul again so we can continue training every night."

You:"Uh...thank you, sir." You turn and bow slightly to Luna "Thank you Miss Luna." Luna giggles and bows back

Luna:"Miss? What am I? An old lady? Jokes aside, it was a pleasure meeting you, Chronicle." Now that you think about it she really reminds you of your mother, never all that serious but has a kind heart, you're glad that now you have Luna and Cole to guide you. You...wonder how the world's going to be like, you've only seen the small glimpses that Luna showed you. You breathe in sharply and focus on returning, back to your proper body. A light blue beacon engulfs you and cosmic blue particles are left behind

Xiao Long Household 2 Minutes Earlier(Yang's POV)

The beacon coming from (F) is gone...now I'm worried, It just straight up vanished without a trace. Is he waking up? Or is...something else going to happen? I sit on the edge of the bed, closer to him and place my left hand on his shoulder.

Yang(Quiet):"...(F)? Are you there?" No response... I speak a bit louder "(F)?" Nothing...what's going on? I'm gonna need dad for this. I look away and begin to get up when all of a sudden a bright cyan blue light fills the room. I stand there...just frozen, I slowly look back to see (F) slowly sitting up in his bed with his eyes closed...He opens them and looks at me

You:"...Y-Yang?"

Yang:"(F)!!"My state of shock goes to one of joy as I run over to him and hug him tightly "You're awake!" I say while hugging him. I feel him tensing up and I realize that his wounds aren't healed. I release the hug and look at him...His eyes still have that same spark in them that cheers you up inside.

You:"Heh...kept you all waiting huh?" I smirk

Yang:"Pssh, that's saying something."(F) looks down and thinks to himself about something before looking back up at me.

You:"How...long was I asleep?"

Yang:"...An entire year." (F)...doesn't seem shocked by that...he breaths out slowly

You:"...Oh...Wait! Where is everybody else!?" Great...now here comes the hard part...he doesn't know about Pyrrha...

Yang:"Well...I don't...know, Blake's...somewhere out in Remnant...no one really knows where she is, Weiss' father took her back to Atlas, and Ruby after staying by your side for a good few months went out on her own, we got a note from her saying that she's going to Haven." Again...(F) doesn't seem...all that phased by this, almost like he's heard this before and just didn't want to accept it. He stays silent for a while as he looks down slightly "Are...you alright (F)?"

You:"Y-yeah...I'm fine. Wait what about Beacon? Our friends?"

Yang:"Beacon's gone...Ozpin's missing, and Pyrrha's..." My heart aches to mention her, (F) looks confused. He really doesn't know.

You(Worried):"What happened to Pyrrha?"

Yang:"Pyrrha's gone, (F)...she died." (F)'s eyes widen in sadness as he looks down

You(Broken):"I-I...s-she's..." He curls his hand into fists as tears fall down his face. "Pyrrha..." I... don't know what to do, I just get close to him and hug him lightly and he sinks down into my shoulder...I can feel the tears going down my shoulder. Poor guy...only other time he's been like this was after showing us the night terrors he had

Yang:"I know..." He stays there for a while... "(F)?" He sniffs and looks up from my shoulder slightly

You(Broken):"Y-yeah?"

Yang:"...No one knows about what happened to Raiden...But...you were the last one to see him." (F)'s state becomes even more depressed...

You:"Raiden's..." He stops...just looking down, after a while (F) takes my left hand and white flames trail across his...the area surrounding us shifts into the Amity Colosseum. I can see Raiden and (F)...staring at Adam Taurus with hundreds of other White Fang members surrounding them.

Raiden(Grimly):"I will murder you." Adam smirks slightly before (F) falls to his knees holding his head in pain.

You:"AGH!" Raiden seems to be going through the same pain...but continues standing, he dashes over at Adam with his Kitsune pointed straight at Adam's head...but he stops right before the tip of his blade hit

???:"We can't have you do that, Raiden."

Raiden:"HURTING YANG WAS NEVER PART OF THE PLAN!" ...A black fire portal opens up and...the Man in the Cloak steps through it.

Man in the Cloak:"But bringing the Chronicle to us was part of it, hurting one of his teammates would've done that."

Raiden(Menacingly):"When did we agree to do that..." Raiden looks back at the Man in the Cloak grimly...

Man in the Cloak:"Ah, right...Raiden, the Queen has invited you to play chess." Raiden's eyes widen...as the fire from his eye fades and a dark purple one emerges. My heart aches...staring at Raiden.

You:"Raiden!?" Raiden looks at (F)... no emotion at all...(F) is trembling..."RAIDEN!?" Everything is dead silent

Man in the Cloak:"It's no use calling out to him, when he's like this he's only programmed to do as he's told. Now then...onto you." They all stare at (F), his skin is completely pale, wide-eyed...scared beyond belief, Raiden appears behind (F) and slashes at his leg before kicking him in the side as he tumbles over...what did they do to him...

You(Panicked/Furious):"WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM!?" He yells as he slowly stands up, the Man in the Cloak doesn't respond. Raiden begins to walk over to him as he instantly turns his Kitsune into its 9-Whip mode, my God..."I-I'm not going to fight you Raiden!" Raiden issues no remorse whatsoever as he warps in front of him and upper cuts him into the air before his whips wrap around (F) and slices into his skin and he cries out in pain. I can see the blood coming out of the cuts. Raiden swings him down into the ground and I can tell that he knocked the wind out of him, Raiden jumps up and stomps him in the chest. This...can't be Raiden...there's no remorse in his eyes...just the look of a monster

Man in the Cloak:"What happened to him doesn't matter." Raiden picks (F) up and forces him to his knees as he breathes in and out shakily. "What's going to happen to you though, is what we're here for. You see we need a sacrifice, the Chronicle's blood is needed in order for Serpent to be fully brought out. Serpent's been dormant for a couple thousand years, she was almost awakened by the Soul of the Fallen King but that King did not have enough Soul power, so instead Serpent was placed inside of his Soul so when a person did arrive with enough Soul Power, they'd be brought forth to Salem so Serpent can be fully restored. Do you understand? In order for Serpent to be brought back, you need to die. So we can harvest your soul. I hope you understand." I...can't even think, I don't know whether to cry or be furious

Man in the Cloak:"End this, Raiden." I see...the man I love bring his weapon back...

You:"Rai-" His eyes widen...just a little...as Raiden's Cloud Kitsune goes through his chest. This can't be real...I...just...how...(F) closes his eyes slowly before a brilliant gold light explodes from his body and fills the stadium. The memory stops...and we're back.

The room stays silent...I don't know what to feel...I feel sick...just when I thought things were getting better...now...Raiden is...my eyes tear up as (F) looks up at me

You:"I..." (F)'s eyes well up with tears again "I couldn't stop him...I...wasn't strong enough to save him." Now I'm crying... (F)'s hands go into a fist "I just...froze...and I couldn't do ANYTHING..." His tone becomes an angered one "I was weak...I...I'm sorry." I just hug him again...my head buried in his shoulder...he hugs back "But I'm bringing him back!" That statement...got me, I'm bawling into his shoulder...I can tell he's crying just as hard as I am... "I have to..."

Yang(Softly):"...Thank you (F)..." We stay there for good long while, a lot of tears still flowing ...after a while, we both stop crying... "I'm glad Ruby has you in her life, (F). You're a good guy."

You:"Thanks...hearing you say that means a lot to me, Well...I see that you have a new arm now." I glance down at my bionic arm

Yang:"Yeah, I only just started using it, You know...I guess this situation is pretty 'Grimm' when you think about it." I sniff while ruffling his head and placing my head on top of his.

You:"...Well...I nev'ursa' that coming." ...Hold up a second...

Yang:"Cinder will Fall in no time with you back."

You:"Yeah I'll be Raiden to go, once I've healed a bit."

Yang:"Are we really gonna do a pun off?"

You:"...WHY NOT!?"

(I WENT OUT OF MY WAY TO FIND A WHOLE BUNCH OF PUNS ON THE GLORY THAT IS THE INTERNET!)

Yang:"Let's begin!"

You:"I guess Ruby really 'ROSE' to the occasion on that rooftop."

Yang:"Not gonna lie, that was pretty 'Schnee'ky (F), but maybe the professor just needed help to feel 'Good' 'witch' is fine with me."

You:"Are you feeling yang-xious? I mean you've got to be ARMing up some puns aren't you?" DID HE JUST! You know what...no, I will win I open my mouth slightly surprised but laugh afterward

Yang:"Oh did you think that I'd be 'yangry'? Nah, but maybe these puns are getting a little out of HAND!"

You:"I mean...your arm is all that's LEFT."

Yang:"Funny, but I mean, that's why I'm terrible at poker now, because I always have a losing hand!"

You:"Well do you want me to tell you a schneecret? I almost 'Blakemailed' Blake when I found out that she read Ninjas of Love."

Yang:"Are you 'schneeting me'?" She says while laughing

You:"Well, what's the (Xiao) Long face? Weiss so serious?"

Yang:"Pssh, no 'schneed' to be rude."

You:"Well you better choose your next words Weissly."

Yang:"Don't worry I won't leave you 'yanging' "

You:"I feel like you have an alARMing personality at times."

Yang:"That's because you need to QROW up."

You:"As long as you don't 'Blake' me up in the morning I'll be fine."

Yang:"Hmm,what are you kitten me?"

You:"Well I find that very 'humerus' because boy do I got a 'bone to pick with you."

Yang:"Pssh, put a little more BACKBONE into your puns (F). Like this. Why did the skeleton not go to the prom? Cause he had no BODY to go with."

You:"It's going TIBIA okay. Hmm, I've got some jokes about unemployed people, but none of them work."

Yang:"Did you hear about the guy who got hit in the head with a soda? Luckily it was a soft drink."

You:"I used to work at a calendar factory. But I got fired because I took a day off."

Yang:"Really? I used to be a banker, but then I lost interest."

You:"OH! I heard Blake was reading a book about anti-gravity. She told me it was impossible to put down."

Yang:"Huh, well I'd tell you a chemistry joke, but know I wouldn't get a reaction."

You:"I wanna make a joke about Sodium, but Na..."

Yang:"Qrow once tried to annoy me with bird puns, but I realized toucan play at that game."

Yang:"I win. Haha!" I broke him "Don't worry, you're my sister's love. I can't torment you like I did with Raiden...actually I can but it'd be weird."

You:"I-I don't know...I uh...feel like I should 'Lie' down long enough to get some 'Ren' sleep. "

Yang:"Well...you do that (F)." I go over to (F) and give him a small kiss on the forehead. He didn't expect it and he slightly blushes.

I get off of his bed and leave, I have to tell dad that he's woken up...oh right! (F) hasn't met our dad yet. And now dad knows that Ruby is dating him...oh no.

One Hour Later(Your POV)

You've been staring at the ceiling this whole time...you really are back but no one else knows, you look down and look at the counter next to you...and see Raiden's Cloud Kitsune on there. You get up and walk over to it...it hasn't been dissipated after all of this time so...Raiden must have disconnected from it. Maybe because he lost his connection to Leviathan fully...explains why not even Luna could find him...your chest hurts just looking at it. You curl your hand into a fist. The weapon he used to protect you for so many years was the weapon that was going to end you...well it isn't his anymore, at least for now. This blade belongs to you now, for the time being...You place your hand over it as cosmic blue particles surround it before it dissipates...with your Marasuma and YOUR Cloud Kitsune...you will bring Raiden back. You hear the door open and look over to see...what you think is Ruby and Yang's father, Taiyang.

You:"Hello sir..." he simply looks at you, studying you before walking fully into the room and closing the door behind him.

Taiyang:"(F), we have a lot to talk about."

(Gah! Again, REALLY sorry about the whole two week absence thing, but I've only had time to respond to comments on my phone and that was about it. I should be able to go back into full RWBY mode again, thanks for reading! ALSO HOPE YA ENJOYED THE PUN OFF!!!!)
