(Volume 4) Part 2: Semblance: Glaive

Last time on RWBY

You:"Nah, you're fine but..." you look down at your hands "Where do I start? I need to be able to protect my friends...and be strong enough to bring Raiden back" You clench your fists and look up as a black light lands next to Luna and all of a sudden half of the area surrounding you turns into a light blue as the light shifts into a man, he slowly looks up at you, he's in his mid 40's as he is...the spitting image of you, except...older. The Old Man who you suspect is Cole bursts his eyes as white flames flow and two massive Glaives conjures in each hand.

Cole:"Well then, let's begin, Chronicle."

This time on RWBY

The King looks at you as he spins one of his glaives in his hand. You are so confused now

You:"I uh...well...hi there? Nice to meet you?"

Cole:"Nice to meet you too (F). As the cranky one has told you, I am Cole, or King Cole but I'd need to have my kingdom in order to call myself that."

Luna:"Cranky? You're the one who only bothered showing up when alcohol was involved." You feel like Cole and Qrow would be good friends

You:"...Do...you guys need to eat and drink to survive in my Soul?..."

Luna:"Nah, but we enjoy the taste..."Now you're more confused about something else

You:"B-but wait like HOW do you even eat in here? Does my soul like have a VFC(Vale Fried Chicken) that I didn't know about? D-do you like...SIPHON off of the food I eat, or do you like make up food with your mind then eat it, because that'd be a cool thing to learn to just pop food up at will which I very need because-" Your stomach growls very loudly "OKAY HOW AM I HUNGRY INSIDE OF MY SOUL!?!?!" They look at you confused

Luna:"I uh...well...your Soul is connected to both your brain waves (Keep this part in mind) and just your overall body, the brainwave that tells you you're hungry still works in here."

You:"But HOW DO I GET FOOD, MY PHYSICAL BODY IS KINDA BROKEN!"

Luna:"Well Yang and Taiyang are both feeding you liquid stuff so..."

You:"BUT I WANT MEAT! None of that substitute bs, I need real dead animals." (sorry for all of the Vegetarians and Vegans)

Cole:"God, do you always pout like a child?" Cole looks at you disappointed "I would've thought that the new Chronicle would be a little more composed." You calm down a little

You:"Sorry, I'm just confused, anyways, just how DO you...eat...here?"

Luna:"Not so much eating as it is...feeling it." The freak?

You:"Feel...it?"

Luna:"Okay I don't know how to explain things well."

Cole:"When your taste buds react to a food or liquid we can taste it as well...ever wonder why you eat so much?" (Hah now your saiyan-like eating habits are explained)

You:"I-I just thought I was really hungry..."

 Cole:"Well you are hungry but you're also feeding both me and a colossal Leviathan."

You:"Ooooh...." You're still confused

Luna:"...ARE YOU CALLING ME FAT!?" Oh dear Gods why (You know...I was planning on making Leviathan like this really self-composed person, and very calm and is very strict, buuuut I enjoy taking people's expectations and throwing out the window, like with how small you are((Again I'm 16 now and only 5'4, yes it's fun and I have people constantly asking if I'm lying about my age)) :D Because I don't want our character to be this big, powerful and brooding dude who has no room for growth, even though you are powerful.) ...Cole pinches the bridge of his nose and breaths out sharply

Cole:"Anyways, I didn't come here so I can explain to you how we eat, I came here to tell you what your Semblance truly is and what you'v been doing wrong."

You:"Doing wrong?" Cole face palms

Cole:"Gods you are clueless, alright, hit me with your 'Flare Smash' as you call it."

You:"...Ok?" You feel your flame returning to your arm, you notice it's...a lot dimmer now and your flame keeps crackling. "Uh, you sure you want me to hit like...HEAD ON or?"

Cole:"Just. Hit. Me."

You:"Alright..." You dash at him and hit him directly in the jaw as a massive fireball explodes from your fist and smoke fills the air, the smoke clears quickly and shows Cole standing there unfazed... "Um...wat?"

Cole:"Let me guess. That fire around your arm destroyed your arm, didn't it?" You look at your arm as it burns and smoke comes from it. "You also called onto it as if it was some mystical energy instead of your own? You also let it charge for a bit before hitting me...right?"

You:"I..." Luna rolls her eyes.

Cole:"First off, 'Flare Smashes' are indeed not of your own power but of Luna's, for this entire time you've solely been using either her power or my power."...Wow, you never really thought of it like that "Hmm...never is a bit too far, but most often you never use your own abilities. The reason why is because your Semblance always you to call into your Soul and draw the power within it, the reason your eye bleeds upon using it too much is because you're drawing too much power and your body can only take so much, In the tournament against your traitorous brother when you gave in to MY power, your aura level went back up, and that was because you switched over to MY power and again your body can only handle so much of my power before it crashes" Oh...so wait...what ARE your abilities?"...Now go back to the time when you were in Emerald Forest and your Spouse was in danger." Spouse? Does...he mean Ruby? "You triggered it for only a second but you used your OWN power instead of Leviathan's or mine." It's coming back to you now, it was when Ruby was about to be attacked by that Nevermore and your vision turned white for just a second. (No it's not Silver Eyes, gonna throw that out there) There's a reason why YOU are Chronicle. Yes you have Leviathan but so does everyone in our bloodline, the reason why I AM here and why you have MY power is to guide you with your own abilities. This is something that no one knows about the Chronicle. Your OWN power is the reason why you are such a threat. But right now you're too simple-minded to see it."

You:"You've...completely lost me, I'm sorry." Cole sighs.

Cole:"I wouldn't expect you to understand, but in times in true grave danger is usually when your....actual Semblance will shine."

You:"True grave danger? I've watch my school fall, my girlfriend almost got killed, my team collapse, the dude of my nightmares appearing, and to top it all off my own brother stabs me! AND NONE OF THAT WAS ENOUGH FOR MY STUPID SEMBLANCE TO WORK!? LIKE I THOUGHT THAT HAVING THE BLUE FLAMES AND CONJURING WAS MY SEMBLANCE BUT NOW IT'S SOME CONVOLUTED CRAP WITH KINGS AND LEVIATHANS!?"

Cole:"Calm yourself. Your power works very differently than ours." 

You:"Maybe if you answered my directly instead of answering cryptically then I'd understand!" 

Cole:"Maybe if you stopped acting like an immature brat then maybe I can finish. Because you need to calm down."

You:"No, you need to tell me just what the hell I am."

Luna:"...(F)? Are you alright?"

You:"I'm fine, alright?! But I'm tired of people saying cryptic BS like Ozpin saying Salem is none of my concern or when Raiden told me that 'I'd find out soon enough' right before his eye glitched purple when going after Torchwick!" Your head is pounding "Now I LEARN that I've been gone for a YEAR, my brother's gone with that psychotic bastard whose name I don't even know, My girlfriend and my team are the corners of Remnant doing GOD KNOWS WHAT, And to top it all off...I'm stuck in here when I could be out there helping my friends and trying to save Raiden. So, you better start explaining why a massive Leviathan and King of the Glaives are saying that I'M important."

Cole:"Your Semblance is called Glaive, an acclimation of both our powers, and that is the VERY basic version of it..."

You:"Why didn't you just say that in the first place?"

Cole:"Because it's not that simple to explain."

You: "Oh come on! Why couldn't I have had my actual Semblance BS work when people were dying?! Where was MY power when I could've helped my friends?! ...Where was that power when my brother fell..." The area glitches purple, Cole and Luna glance at each other

Cole:"There's nothing you can do about that now, I'm sorry but that's just how it's meant to be. In order for you to use YOUR power, you'll need to master both my and Luna's power. And for the answer to true grave danger we weren't talking about others or yourself, though that spouse of yours must be very important to you if you managed to activate for only a second, you see your Soul is much more in tune to Luna and me for a reason, and that reason would be is because your Soul is able to intake much more of Leviathan's raw energy, same as mine. Any Soul with our blood is able to vent out Leviathan's energy but only a very small portion of it which is why it's a normal flame color, the kings that came after me spent years of their lives to increase their connection by only a little, the only other king who managed to have their connection to Luna increase was a King who fell down the wrong path and tried to use Salem to make himself more powerful, we'll get to him later. Like I said there's a reason why your flame was immediately blue and why you can go further beyond that and have your flame go white, your Soul is able to vent both your flame and electricity out of your eye and you almost used both during your battle with your brother. Your Soul itself is why you're a big threat, that's why it's taking you so long for Luna to get your Soul back together, the average Soul would only take 6 weeks to be fully restored, but it takes you more then an entire year. Your Soul is able to store and hold information like a secondary brain only this is for my power and Luna's, you don't even need us in order to Conjure, Warp, Phase, Vent flames and electricity from your eye. You'd need to learn how to ACCESS that but yeah you don't need us. But in order to do that, we need to both be gone, our power is actually blocking out yours, which is why I said grave danger, because both of us have to be gone in order for you to gain access to your own ability and in that scenario, you're either dead or we've been forced out by an unknown entity and you'd be defenseless since you wouldn't know how to access it." Again you're a bit lost but you've calmed down

You:"So...my Soul can just do anything you two can do? How does that even make sense?"

Cole:"To be honest, we don't know. During my battle with Salem and Serpent I had gotten gravely injured and I knew I wasn't going to survive. That's when Luna actually sacrificed herself by covering me and taking a hit from Serpent that would've incinerated an entire village, her physical form died but her Soul was strong enough to persist after death and merge with mine and THAT'S when we were able to drive them back, and we placed a seal on Serpent that left her power dormant, but that seal can only work to a certain degree. After they left I stood tall, victorious with Luna in my Soul, and that's when we both heard a voice call out to us saying one day darkness will rule again. And a boy will arrive with the power to stop Serpent(Notice how I say Serpent, only Serpent), the voice said that we'd need to guide him and train him"

You:"Who was this voice? Also, no offense Luna, but how were you able to be defeated by Serpent? Shouldn't you two be like equally powerful?"

Luna:"For the voice, we don't know. As for Serpent's power...our power IS suppose to be equal...but in times of great darkness her power grows tremendously. It's why during the Great War she ALMOST managed to break the seal, so much chaos...3 generations of our blood died during that war alone."

You:"Damn...so...she's like a Grimm?"

Luna:"...I guess you could say that, she's much more complicated then a Grimm as you'd imagine."

You:"So...we're supposed to trust a voice...that we don't know."

Luna:"Pretty much."

You:"...Great."

Luna:"Though we have one concern. You saw the area glitch into purple right?"

You:"Yeah?"

Luna:"Well that means there is corrupted aura in your soul...aka traces of Serpent. Even when her power is dormant it's still unimaginably strong, when the Fallen King went for search of power, he found Salem, Salem saw that he had the same blood as Cole and took this as a opportunity and placed Serpent's energy into him. Now every following member of your blood has a trace of her in your Soul. Now it's not enough to take over you completely, unless you allow it or more of her energy is forced into you. There's one way to remove ALL of the traces of Serpent in you but it would do more harm than good to your Soul."

You:"So...what do we do with the dormant energy that's inside of me if we can't get rid of it?"

Cole:"You do your best to not let yourself get corrupted by it, like your brother, though his was a special case I felt traces of Salem when the Man in the Cloak...awakened him, Serpent's power was already slipping in the past few weeks, it explained why his eye would glitch to Serpent's color, why he acted aggressive, and why he didn't hesitate to stab you."

You:"So wait...how was he able to hide his flame?"

Cole:"A code word was used to fully activate his Serpent side, remember? It seems like something would be used to mask Serpent's energy to cause his flame to be the regular color and his true side could only activate given the right circumstances."

You:"So...does that mean there's a way to change him back?"

Luna:"Like I said with getting rid of Serpent in your Soul...it would do a lot of damage to him. But, who knows, I'm just an ancient mystical being who has a powerful king as a sidekick so nothing's too far from our reach."

Cole:"Anyways...now then...do you want to learn how to master your Semblance?"

You:"Sure...even though my Semblance is freaking weird like why couldn't I have been given something simpler like having...something without a prophecy behind it?" Luna shrugs and Cole just stares at you... (ALRIGHT!!! Just to make sure, Your Semblance Glaive is the ability to use both Leviathan's and King Cole's power as your own, your Soul can access that and your Soul is gigantic because it has so much power filling it up, Glaive can store the power that you've accessed and used from Leviathan and Cole and then use it as your own, but since you already have two powerful beings taking up your Soul, you can't access that at this moment but you can only use the power Leviathan and Cole give you, unless something were to happen and the two beings exit from your Soul, THEN you'd be able to access your OWN power that you gained from Leviathan and Cole but your body would be used to another source supplying it to you and not yourself, you'd be defenseless since your body doesn't know to bring up the power that you've stored, does that make sense? )

Cole:"...Anyways, let flames go through your eye like normal."

You:"Alright." You go to burst your eye with flames...but feel something off, you can feel that you activated your...Semblance -you don't even know if that's right anymore-, but your eye isn't catching its flames but the area surrounding you turns into a light blue, Luna's body glows white and the golden light on your chest shines...right you're actually IN your Soul. "Um...my eye isn't catching flames...also why is she glowing...and why is my chest shining.....and why is the area blue now?"

Cole:"That's happening because we're in your Soul, Luna's glowing since you're drawing power from her, so that aura surrounding her and the area is showing how much power you're taking from her and since Luna's still not completely done with fixing your Soul, you're going to feel a lot weaker, but you've got to push through, really focus the power that Luna gives you and direct it where you want it to vent out...right now since your Soul is scattered, her power is all over the place, direct it where you want to go, you do this with Flare Smashes, direct it to your eye." You nod as you feel your Soul thriving, you can feel that Luna's power is going throughout your body, you focus deeply and feel the small sparks coming from your eye, now that you feel it you can feel a direct link to your Soul and to your eye. "Now, here comes the tricky part, access my power from your right eye." Ooooh...

You:"Wait, how do I do that? If I'm already focusing on Luna's it's going to hard to access your power at the same time...also wouldn't that be too much for my Soul to handle?" Cole's body is surrounded with sparks of electricity as his hair turns pure white. You can already feel that your own body is being overwhelmed as the surrounding area has gone from a light blue to a greyish color

Cole:"Your Soul has more power than you think, try it, I'm willingly giving my power to you." You breathe out...the feeling of two separate energies inside you along with your own is definitely a weird one. Your shattered Soul isn't helping either as now the flame have gone from your eye and you feel the pure raw energies flowing throughout your body beginning to overwhelm you, Luna's energy is a light and agile one as Cole's energy is a heavy and fierce one.

You(Strained):"This...is really tough." It feels like two colliding rivers are flowing inside of you. It feels like there's a strange heat in you chest, as the light on your chest shines brightly

Cole:"It is, but you HAVE to learn how to use this power if you want to be able to save your friends. Think of both of our powers...you can control the output we're giving, because right now the power we're giving you is uneven, Luna isn't giving you much power since she's focusing most of it on fixing your Soul but I'm giving you around half, you have to make it even."

You(Strained):"Alright." You grit your teeth as you try to focus on output of their energies...you close your eyes as you begin to sweat. You focus on Cole's power and begin to feel his power dimming, you look up to see that the sparks around him have diminished a bit as his hair is a mix between pure white and his natural hair color(Which is your hair color). You focus more and see that his hair has returned to his original color as small sparks of electricity go around him.

Cole:"Good, now my and Luna's output are around the same, now focus those two separate them even further by venting them out of your eyes." You nod slowly as you try your hardest and feel small regular flames coming from your left eye and tiny sparks are coming from your right eye. It feels weird with two energies but you know it'll get better with practice. "Right now you're accessing about 5% of both of our power."

You:"Only 5%!? It feels like much more than that!"

Luna:"That's because A. your Soul is still broken and 2. you aren't used to using both of our power. But it will come in time."

You:"So...if I'm only using 5% of both of your power, then how much of Luna's power do I USUALLY use."

Luna:"Around 60%, a regular flame needs 10%, a blue flame needs 50%, a white needs 80%, and 100% is a golden one."

You:"Okay, I heard and used a white flame before, but I've never heard of a GOLD one...sounds cool."

Luna:"Well that's because nobody else can use it accept for me." Both of her eyes instantly fill up with brilliant golden flames...which is a bit strange considering that she still looks like Ruby. "Though...since you have access to my power...you may just be able to do it...meh, who knows." She closes her eyes as the flames disperse.

You:"And you, Cole? Well when I gain access to it at least."

Cole:"I'd say you used 30% during the breach and 50% during the tournament. You actually used both at the very end, when your arm filled up with flames and electricity."

You"Yeah...luckily I stopped using Luna's energy at the last second."

Cole:"Yeah, your bro definitely would've died. BUT you have to learn to do manage both of our energies at the same time. At full strength I'm sure you could do around 30% of both of our energies without any trouble."

You:"...Only 30?"

Cole:"Well, you COULD go up to 40% using both since you use 50% of Luna's power regularly but that's why you always break your body. Your body can't handle that much output in one area, that's why your Flare Smashes are flawed. You have to charge the attack up because you have to divert power to your arm leaving the other parts of your body defenseless. And sense it's purely a offensive attack your arm pays the price. That's why you've got to learn to use Luna's scales and my armor-mode."

You:"Armor-mode?"

Cole:"We'll talk about MY power eventually. Right now I want you to keep practicing having both my and Luna's power active...because you already dropped it." You realize that both energies are unfocused again and you have lost your flame and lightning. Great... "You have to be able to use both of our powers as comfortably as you use Luna's energy. I'd train your physical form but until you can wake up you're going to have to just focus on your Semblance."

You:"Is it...MY Semblance or yours."

Cole:"Technically it's our own, but your Semblance allows you to wield power."

You:"So...what are your Semblances called?"

Cole:"Mine is called Soul oddly enough, Luna...Doesn't HAVE a Semblance but her power is called Divine."

You:"Huh...well, let's get started on mastering these powers of yours....er mine...why must this be confusing." Cole smirks along with Luna as they glance at each other.

Cole:"Then let's actually begin, Chronicle."

(I really hope you guys understand the Semblance Glaive, I had hundreds of ideas in my head of what your power and what Glaive actually was, ranging from you being a reincarnation to something about Dragons and ugh...I'm gonna stick to what I said earlier, well ciao!...why did I say ciao...huh...)
