(Volume 3) Part 6: Curious Battle/Training with Qrow

Last Time on RWBY

Qrow:"You both have got spirit...that's for sure. Here's my offer, you two seem good for them, which is all I want for them...but know that since you're doing this, that there's no going back...you're either going to strive to be with them for the rest of your life, or not. I better hear that one day you two will be marrying them, because if you leave them and break their hearts...then I'll break you."

You(Weak):"We never will, sir...we're staying with them until the end..." Qrow chuckles a bit

Qrow:"Even after having your asses handed to you, you still call me sir...you both are gonna go far, I can feel it." You chuckle lightly as you feel everything fade...

This Time on RWBY (Back in Team RWBY's Dorm) Ruby's POV

I'm pacing back and forth ABSOLUTELY WORRIED SICK!

Ruby(Panicking):"I'M WORRIED SICK! IT'S PAST MIDNIGHT AND THEY HAVEN'T GOTTEN BACK YET...God...would Uncle Qrow really...KILL THEM!? OH GOD! WHAT IF THEY'RE ALREADY DEAD!?!?" Yang is ALSO freaking out but I'M LOSING IT MORE THAN SHE IS. Weiss and Blake are just watching me in my broken state...

Weiss:"Well judging by your Uncle's actions with Winter, I wouldn't be surprised."

Ruby:"YOU'RE NOT HELPING!!!"

Blake:"Calm down, Ruby."

Ruby:"I AM CALM!" I am absolutely not calm

Blake:"I'm sure that (F) and Raiden will be fine." As soon as she said that we hear the door knock and immediately all of us sprint up to it and almost rip the door off of its hinges. We look to see both (F) and Raiden smiling with glee, I immediately tackle (F) as Yang does the same with Raiden.

You(Weak):"Oww..."

Ruby:"ARE YOU ALRIGHT!? HOW BADLY DID HE HURT YOU!? HOW MANY FINGER AM I HOLDING UP!?" I yell while putting up three fingers

You:"...Three?"

Ruby:"YOU SEE!? YOU'RE NOT ALRIGHT, YOU HAD TO THINK ABOUT IT!!! Oh my poor love..." I have endless flowing tears seemingly falling down my face as I lean my head on (F)'s...which is awkward considering that he's taller than me BUT STILL

You:"Ruby, honey, I'm fine." He looks at me just smiling, He looks over at where Raiden and Yang are and his face scrunches up. I look over to them and see that...they're making out...like...jeez...leave some space...you never see ME doing that with (F)...well...not in public at least...IT WAS A ONE TIME THING OKAY!?...Who am I even talking to...He clears his throat as both of them realize that everyone's staring and stop kissing each other and whistle innocently, slightly red... "Anyways...yeah, we're both fine...just a little beat up is all." He scratches his head a bit embarrassed but still smiling, I look at him to see that he is...VERY beat up, scratches and bruises on him everywhere along with his shirt having a giant cut in it and has bandages all over him, he pulls down the collar from his shirt to reveal bandages wrapped around his chest with a deep red slash coming from the bandages that I can see clearly...What did he do...

Ruby:"Ow...I'm getting Qrow back for this." (F) laughs with his eyes closed as if nothing was wrong before kissing me on the lips? It was nice but I'M CONFUSED

You:"There's no need, don't be mad at him." Did...he get a concussion from that fight or? Now that I look at it, both Raiden and (F) seem pretty happy to have gone through a tough fight...the heck is going on here? "Now then...can we go to bed...I am VERY tired." I glance at Blake, Weiss, and Yang and see that they're all weirded out by this as well...they shouldn't be smiling? We all get up and Raiden has some difficulty as I can see a giant gash on his leg...regardless we enter the room and

Ruby:"Okay, I'm sorry but did we miss something?" Both Raiden and (F) glance and smile at each other

You:"Just some...news that came up." Still confused but both (F) and Raiden seem ready to pass out. "Can we talk about this tomorrow? I'm kinda running on fumes here."

One Day Later

You're sitting with your team in the Amity Colosseum with bandages under your shirt and jacket after your...encounter with Qrow, Ruby and Yang seemed a bit angry with Qrow but you and Raiden laughed and told them that it was fine...though now that you had proved yourself to Qrow...now it seems that you're stuck with Ruby, pssh, not that you mind, you were planning on marrying the girl the following years after graduating from Beacon. You still haven't told your team the news about last night that you will in fact be in the tournament, though the circumstance is odd, after being patched up in the nurse's office General Ironwood came up to you and Raiden, he talked about how he talked to Ozpin about the importance of the festival and that everyone should be able to participate and so he got you both a match but...you won't be fighting for your team at all, you'll be fighting against one of your brother, as a sort of an exhibition match before the finals start...strange but you're happy either way, now you can show your brother just how far you've grown.

Back to the fight at hand with Penny and her teammate fighting against Team CRDL...you think to yourself as to where Penny went during that one night at the docks, you an't focus on that as the battle continues as Penny wastes no time as she homes in her many blades at Russell as he just barely manages to dodge the blades by jumping behind a rock.She doesn't let the other CRDL teammate Sky Lark any time to think as she homes in her blades at him until he uses his own halberd to jump over a stone for defense. The two seem terrified...you'd be terrified too if there was an innocent looking girl waving swords through the air as if she was an insane puppet master Penny grins in combat-ready fierceness as she looks to her partner, who simply taps her watch as if hurrying Penny up. You've never seen that girl before with Penny, seems like she's kind of like Weiss in a way... Penny raises her hands like the puppetmaster she is and uses the near-invisible strings attached to each hilt to lift the giant rocks up in the air, with Russel and Sky still hanging on. Bringing her arms down, the stones come crashing to the ground as well, leaving both of them out of the fight in the grass. Her swords come back to her pack as the buzzer rings...You got to admit, she's an amazing fighter.

Oobleck(Intercom):"And victory goes to Penny and Ciel of Atlas!" Penny bows in respect while smiling

Penny:"Thank you for a wonderful time." They turn to leave the stadium as Russel feebly reaches out, only to get hit in the head by an errant stone. You laugh a bit as your hate for Team CRDL has been diminished a little. You see Ruby excitedly grabs your arm and pulls you out of the seat

You:"H-hey!" Ruby then runs over to where Penny and Ciel is with you being dragged by the arm.

Ruby:"Penny!" She yells while letting go of you as she lifts her arms towards Penny. Penny turns around.

Penny: "Ruby!" she lifts up her own arms as she runs over to Ruby her friend and tackles her as they both are on the ground...that sounded like it hurt.

Ruby(Weakly):"Why..." You help Ruby up as Penny gets up excitingly as she gestures to Ciel

Penny:"Ruby, this is my teammate."

Ciel:"Ciel Soleil." She says while bowing formally

Ruby:"Hi! I'm Ru-" She gets cuts off by Ciel

Ciel: Ruby Rose. 15. Hails from Patch. Leader of Team RWBY. Status: Questionable." She then looks at you "And you are (F/L). 16. Hails from Menagerie. Member of Team RWBY. Status:...Interesting." You...don't know what that means...you glance at Ruby. As she stays silent for a second.

Ruby:"Sooo... Penny! You two were incredible out there. How do you keep control of all those swords? It's so cool!" Does she not see the very thin lines? Then again this is Ruby that you're talking about, and the fact that the lines are nearly undetectable

Ciel:"Penny?" She looks at her watch and taps at it "I believe it is best if we move on to our next location." ...Definitely getting some Weiss vibes here

Penny:"Could we have just a minute to talk?" Ciel checks the time, then takes a step back and nods, starting the countdown...she seems stricter than Weiss somehow.

Ruby:"Oh (F) you can go now, I need to talk to her about girl stuff..." You shrug

You:"Oh, okay." you walk back to your seat and notice that Yang and Weiss have left to prepare for their upcoming fight but you can still see Ruby and Penny from where you're at so you shrug as you let your flames flow a little so you can tune in to their conversation..how bad could it be?

Ruby:"So is she... your friend or..."

Penny:"Well, in a way. She's like Blake, but if Blake was ordered to spend time with you." ...So Weiss?

Ruby:"Oh. So, Weiss." And there you have it. You still can't help but snicker a little at that, Raiden glances at you oddly before watching the stage again.

Penny: Precisely.

Ruby(Whispering) :"Does she know about... y'know... beep boop bop, does not compute?" ...What...does she mean by that?

Penny:"Oh no. General Ironwood doesn't really want anyone to know. There was an incident with a magnet, but I was able to play it off." Magnet? The hell?

She talked about how she used a sun hat to cover up the magnet...The story causes Ruby and Penny to laugh about it in the present for several seconds. But you are confused...what does she mean?

Penny:"Ruby, there's something I've been wanting to talk to you about." whispering "I want to stay at Beacon."

Ruby:"Penny, they'll never let you do that." The hell is going on? You are so lost right now...

Penny:"I know, but I have a plan." What plan? From where you are you can see Ciel stepping up to Ruby and Penny

Ciel:"It's been precisely one minute, ma'am."

Penny: I'll talk to you more soon, Ruby." You watch the two of them turn and walk away before Penny gives Ruby one final wave as Ruby returns it...you are so lost...

Port(Intercom):"Our next match will begin in 15 minutes!" OH RIGHT! You look at the screen to see that the next match up will be Yang and Weiss versus...two odd looking people in a team known as Team FNKY

15 minutes later

You watch the arena as the match up is about to begin. Yang and Weiss are in the middle of the arena as Yang is stretching in preparation. You can hardly wait, though you wonder where are the opponents? You let your semblance flow just a bit so you could hear them...

Yang:"Well, now it's our turn!"

Weiss:"Just remember to keep proper form." Yang chuckles,

Yang:"Alright. You're from Atlas. What could we expect?" People as moody and strict as Weiss you guess? Yang begins loosing up her legs

Weiss:"Well, seeing as their Kingdom, academy and armed forces are all merged as one, I think we can expect strict, militant fighters with advanced technology and carefully rehearsed strategies." As SOON as she said that a...rainbow flies by the two of them, leaving both of them surprised....you are also surprised as a pigtailed Faunus girl with roller blades swishes around her nunchuck weapons who is next to a dude wearing a stylish fedora and sunglasses as he's holding a trumpet...he uses a trumpet as his weapon? Huh...

Weiss:"...Or whatever they are." The dude known as Flynt calls out

Flynt:"Hey!" Weiss looks over to him as he gestures at her, "You Weiss Schnee, right? The heiress."

Weiss:"I am." She says while slightly bowing, smiling

Flynt:"I take it you're pretty good with Dust, then?"

Weiss:"I do my best." She shrugs humbly...mmhmm tell it to the crater that she and Ruby made the first day in Beacon.

Flynt: Yeah, my dad was good too. Owned a little Dust shop of his own." he says while he nods his head, his smile then turns into a scowl"Till your father's company ran him out of business." Oooh....well...that took a turn

Weiss:"Oh." she looks ashamed now..."I'm sorry to hear that."

Flynt(Sarcastically):"Sure you are." He says while looking away, Yang gets angered by this as she raises her finger while calliing out

Yang:"Hey! Why don't you-" She gets interrupted by the Faunus now known as Neon

Neon(Imitating):"Hey! Why don't you?" she drops her imitation as she points at Yang, smiling "That's what you sound like!" Oh boy this'll be an...interesting match for sure...

Yang:"Uh..." Yang doesn't know how to react...neither would you if you were in her situation...

Neon:"Hey! Where'd you get your hair extensions?"

Yang:"This is just my normal hair."

Neon: "Ooooh, really?" You could tell that Yang was starting to get annoyed...

Yang:"Yeah! Is that a prob-" She AGAIN gets cut off by Neon...Neon...you realize that's one letter more than Neo...ugh...you hope you don't run into her anytime soon, back to the annoyance

Neon:"You should try rollerblading sometime! It's super fun!" She says as she starts spinning in place "It'd probably take you a while, though, since you're so... you know, top-heavy." ...OH SNAP! You see that Yang looks down at her...area as the holographic roulette begins

Yang:"Excuse me!?" You glance at Raiden who is smiling smugly as he obviously doesn't care that Yang is...'top-heavy'...ANYWAYS MOVING ON, you glance at Ruby who rolls her eyes

Ruby:"Oh, here we go."

You:"Do...people usually comment on Yang's um..." Ruby gives you a 'really' look before answering

Ruby:"Well, I've heard of a few that Yang told me about...and of the beating they received later...also you better not be looking at my sister's...area..." she says while squinting menacingly

You:"I-I'd never!"...You have stared...then again it's hard not to when they're like...right there...ANYWAYS BEFORE THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE GETS MAD...The field opens around the four of them, and up rises a volcanic area, a sandy desert, steaming geysers, and ruined buildings.

Port:"Three! Two! One! Begin!" The four of them ready themselves as the battle begins as tight as it starts, Flynt raises his trumpet to his lips and blows, the result causes a sound wave that blows both Weiss and Yang back from the force. Weiss creates a glyph under her feet in order to stop sliding back, but doesn't see Neon spinning into the attack and using it to push herself forward so she can charge at Yang in a rainbow burst of speed and push her into the city portion. Flynt stops blowing as Weiss readies her Myrtenaster, a second passing until the musician starts playing again. This time, Weiss uses...-gravity glyphs?- to move her forward through the giant waves, making another one to get closer and closer so she can land a blow. Suddenly, however, Flynt stops playing, and Weiss is caught off guard as she stumbles forward as Flynt lands a kick to the back as she slides past. She crashes through a red Dust crystal, and Flynt grins when he sees her lying in the area now spouting pillars of fire. Back in the ruined city, Neon manages to roll ahead of every blast from Yang's Ember Celica, skating on the railings and making faces at Yang...she seems pissed She continues to flip and slide over any terrain in her way, all the while repeating a mantra to herself.

Neon:"Never miss a beat! Never miss a beat! Never miss a beat! Never miss a beat!"

She eventually comes down to the ground and explodes at Yang, as a trail of rainbows go behind her while hitting Yang multiple times. Yang grits her teeth, seemingly pissed as she unloads the shells in her gauntlets, as Neon smirks and cracks her nun chucks...wait glow sticks...glow...chucks...nun...sticks...you're calling them glowchucks, as they turn them blue. She comes forward again, dashing past Yang as her leg is now encased in ice.

Neon:"Hm-hmm! Look! Now you're bottom-heavy, too!" She slaps her own butt for emphasis...again you look at Raiden as he's completely fine with this...of course anyways

Getting quite irate now, Yang slams her foot down and frees her entire leg, but is unable to stop Neon from freezing her left arm now. She sees Neon rollerblading on rails and through archways, gaining distance until she speeds forth and kicks Yang back into a wall, cracking it behind her.

Neon:"You should cool off! Get it? Because you're angry." Well...YANG IS PISSED as she smashes her arm against the wall, both shattering the ice and the structure itself

Meanwhile, Weiss and Flynt are facing each other in the burning section, Weiss gesturing all around her with the blade and spinning wildly to summon four glyphs that shoot out an equal number of large ice chunks headed straight for her enemy. Flynt looks down and smiles, leaping forward onto his knees and blowing his horn just as a column of flame erupts right in front of him, diverting the fire to melt each of Weiss' frozen projectiles....you've got to admit that he's good.

Flynt:"Too bad all that money can't buy you skill." He says while getting up and twirling his trumpet.

Weiss glares at him before revolving her hilt to use a wind type of Dust. She aims a stream of wind at Flynt, who matches her power with his own blowing, it creates a standstill until Weiss uses a mere gesture to form several more glyphs around the field. She quickly bounces off each one, striking Flynt with each attack, until she puts his foot down and starts playing once more. Weiss is still propelling herself around, but nothing prepares her for a second Flynt appearing next to the first, and then another, and another after that, each color-coordinated musician joining their waves of noise together to send Weiss flying back....Um...WAIT WAT!?

Port: (Over the Intercom)"What's this?"

Oobleck(Intercom):"It appears young Flynt has just activated his Semblance! And quite a remarkable one at that. Ladies and gentlemen, feast your eyes on Flynt Coal's Killer Quartet!" Well, that's REALLY cool...

The Flynts flip their hats around to the audience, then look up at the scoreboard to see Weiss and Yang down to half their Aura levels, but still in the game. He steps forward, absorbing each of his duplicates...

YOu look over to where Neon and Yang is as she is still giving trouble to Yang, using a ramp to outrun her as Yang's eyes are now red, yep she pissed... Neon slows down and sees this

Neon:"Ooh! Flashy eyes! Y'know, you're actually kinda pretty when you're angry." Yang shakes her head as her eyes return to it's normal color as she propels herself forward by using the recoil from her shotgun blasts

Yang:"Shut up, shut up, SHUT UP!" Weiss is getting back up and sees her rapier, reaching out to it only for Flynt to step on the blade. She looks up at him before their attention is drawn to their partners. You glance at Neon as she is now spinning in a circle around Yang lazily...

Yang:"Get back here!"

Neon:"I wasn't trying to say that you should go on a diet, I was saying you really NEED to go on a diet!" Okay now RAIDEN is angered...

Yang:"THAT'S IT!" And so is Yang...

Neon:"You're fat." She says for a quick clarification...

Flynt looks back at Weiss before deciding to focus his attention on Yang, once more becoming four fighters and ready to blow her away. Weiss looks through the clones and sees Yang completely distracted, as well as a pool of lava bubbling away right in front of them. Without thinking, Weiss jumps up and knocks the original into the magma just as it erupts several feet in the air...Oh my God, WEISS!?

Yang:"What?"

You/Ruby/Blake/Raiden(Panicked):"Weiss!" Oh my God is she alright!?

Port(Intercom):"It appears we have a double knockout on our hands!"

Oobleck(Intercom):"In fact, it looks as though Miss Schnee's Aura has been completely depleted! She sacrificed herself to take out Flynt!" Wow...You are SO going to hit her for this, that was WAY too reckless and may have been killed had her injuries been any lower... "Wait a minute. What's this!?" You glance over to see Flynt slowly getting up? DAMN IT! Though you can see from his aura level on screen that he's almost at his limit, but standing back up from the smoke.

Port(Intercom):"Ladies and gentlemen, Flynt Coal remains standing!" Flynt begins walking toward Yang, He looks very angry...then again he WAS just pushed into a lava geyser...Neon skates back over to where Flynt is

Neon:"You did it, Flynt! Don't worry about her, she's easy! But kind of annoying." Yang's had enough as she clenches her fist as the ground trembles underneath her feet

Port(Intercom):"Ooh, looks like Yang's angry! And you wouldn't like her when she's... upset." Well that was a bit of a dissapo- You hear Yang give out a scream of pure rage as lava bursts out from several rocks behind her...WELL THEN! She sends out several shots at both of them as they manage to dodge the blasts

Flynt:"Yo, Neon, go!"

He blows again and helps Neon rush forward, and Yang meets her in the waves of sound, using her shots to keep her from being pushed away as she attempts to get a hit on the her. Failing that, she leaps out of the noise and blasts the ground where Neon is, then launches herself back to create some space. Her blasts almost gets Flynt, who's forced to change the direction of his tune and direct Neon elsewhere, still avoiding the blasts and even rolling on the debris being formed, though with a noticeably more shaky stance than usual. She rolls up on a ramp made from the debris into the geyser biome. Yang lands on the ground away from her and runs right at Flynt, rocketing forward even as he uses his Semblance once more to deliver a fourfold attack. Shooting behind her, however, provides the necessary boost to finally get close and clap her hands over the mouth of the trumpet. In less than a second the sound of silence is broken by the musical backfire right in Flynt's face, as they four clones become one again as he's knocked on his back and the buzzer rings.

Oobleck(Intercom):"Oh, sour note for Flynt!" Yang slides back from the blast, searching for her remaining opponent as Neon tries avoiding the geyser spouts.

Neon:"Never miss a beat! Never miss a beat! Never miss a..". At that moment, her front wheels catch on a crack in the ground, losing her balance and causing her to shed a few quick tears "...beat?" Time catches up as she pitches forward, as she rolls up in a ball only to get caught in the blast of a geyser. She's helpless to do anything as Yang smirks, fires off a single shot, and hits her screaming target as fireworks go off in her place...and the buzzer sounds. Yang still looks angered before she blinks her eyes and immediately realizes Weiss

Yang:"Weiss!" You and the rest of your team nod at each other before running off to enter the arena, as you're running into the arena you notice that Weiss is completely covered in ash "Are you okay?"

Weiss:"I may not be singing for a while." she begins coughing again. You forgot that Weiss is AMAZING at singing, but that doesn't matter now

Yang:"You know, I'm not sure that was proper form."

Weiss:"Oh, ha ha." Starts coughing again

Neon: "WHAT!? We lost? We lost?" Yang and Weiss' attention are drawn to her, now devoid of color, as she freaks out "Team FNKI lost? That was... that was..." her color returns to the suddenly-overjoyed Faunus girl as her eyes turn into rainbow sparkles for a moment...fun "... amazing! Oh my gosh, you guys were super crazy awesome! We should definitely party together sometime, right Flynt?" Flynt gets back back on his feet

Flynt:"That was a gutsy move, Schnee." pauses "I dig it." You all finally arrive at the

Blake:"Good job, you two!"

Ruby:"Yeah!"

Raiden:"Good thing that you're alright...well sort of." You lightly hit Weiss on the head

Weiss:"Hey!"

You:"BE MORE CAREFUL NEXT TIME, IF WE LOSE YOU THE TEAM WON'T BE CALLED TEAM RWBY IT'LL BE CALLED...TEAM RBY...wait that still works sort of...BUT IT DOESN'T HAVE THE SAME RING TO IT!" they all laugh lightly at your anger...as you breath out and begin laughing lightly

Later in the Courtyard

You've been training with Qrow for the past 3 hours, You asked him to train you so that you could become worthy of dating Ruby, Qrow laughed at that as he said 'I said that you were good for them, you don't have to prove it to me anymore' which you responded with 'I don't want to prove it to you, I want to prove it for myself, so that I can be better for her' he laughed as he ruffled your hair as he said fine. You slide back from one of Qrow's hits as you fall on your back, breathing heavily as you let go of your Marasuma as it vanishes.

You(Panting):"Just how...do you get so strong?" Qrow takes out his flask

Qrow:"Years of practice kid. Though you're making good progress, so don't give up." Qrow takes out his scroll before putting it away "Seems like that'll be all for tonight."

You:"Awww, but it isn't even midnight yet!" Qrow smirks at you as he puts his weapon away

Qrow:"You are one strange kid, but sorry we're gonna have to cut our training short for tonight, Ozpin says he needs me for something." You nod as you get up and dust yourself off.

You:"Fine, but we're practicing for an extra 3 MORE hours tomorrow, alright!?" He chuckles as he comes up to you

Qrow:"Heh, you really want to be the best for my niece don't you?"

You:"She deserves only the best, sir- er Qrow." He ruffles your hair before taking a swig from his flask and begins to walk away

Qrow:"Fine, we're training until dawn tomorrow." That's...MORE than what you wanted but you're happy either way. Considering your exhebition match with Raiden coming tomorrow...either way you smile at the Shattered Moon of Remnant before beginning to walk back.
