(I find it weird that it's actually harder to create a romance scene than an action scene...CONSIDERING THE NAME OF THE FANFICTION..., like damn I don't even know how to dance in real life so I have to look this stuff up...well I guess this will help during Prom and such...I can imagine the conversation"where'd you learn how to dance?" "Oh I looked it up while creating fan fiction on a fictional character", haha who am I kidding...I've got no one to ask in the first place ._., well I hope you guys enjoy the romance I try to depict...or you know...not...)

(Volume 2) Part 7:An Almost Perfect Night.

You walk into the ballroom and see the place is beautifully decorated and you can see fellow students dancing. You see Yang and Raiden are behind a podium and sees Ruby.

Yang:"Oh, you look beautiful!" She exclaims while jumping and Raiden is smiling. You look at Ruby to see that she's scratching her head using her other hand.

Ruby:"Ugh. Can we have a serious talk about how Weiss fights in these?" You wonder how is this any different from her usual 'combat skirt'. You both begin to walk forward but Ruby trips a little due to her not being used to wearing high-heels. You keep her up as she is holding your hand tightly out of slight fear as she stumbles. You hear Yang laughing and Ruby lets go of your hand and begins to talk to Yang about how high heels are death as Raiden approaches you smiling as he lets small flames trail from his eye.

Raiden(Telepathically):"Well, you certainly seem happy." You smile as small blue flames escape from your eye

You(Telepathically):"Well, I mean just look at her..." You both look at Ruby who is laughing lightly at Yang who made a joke that you didn't hear. "I can't even express how great I feel at the moment."

Raiden(Telepathically):"That's great bro, you deserve someone amazing."

You(Telepathically):"And so do you, which is why I'm glad you have someone as beautiful as Yang in your life."

Raiden(Telepathically):"And I'm glad you have someone as adorable as Ruby in yours." He ruffles your hair and your flames go away as you see the doors to the Ballroom open and see Blake and Sun who have their arms interlocked.

You:"Well, well, well, look what we have here?" Sun scratches the back of his head and Ruby goes by your side and Yang goes by Raiden.

Ruby:"Blake! I'm so happy that you made it!" Blake definitely looks happy, which is a refreshing change from her recent mood.

Blake:"Yeah, Yang managed to convince me." She flashes a smile at Yang and Yang gives her a thumbs up.

Yang:"Heh, so you want to have that dance now?" She says to Blake which kinda confused you

Blake:"Alright, lets go." She takes Yang's hand and they go off into the dance floor and you look at Raiden a bit confused.

Raiden:"Oh right, Yang told me that she'd save her a dance if she came."

You:"Ohhhh, that makes sense." you...just realized you actually have to dance...which is something you absolutely cannot do to save your life...but judging by Ruby's awkward posture as she is looking at the dance floor, it seems like she doesn't really know how either.

You and Ruby see Weiss and wave to her and approach her...she doesn't seem to have brought anyone...odd, you thought she would ask Neptune, but now that you look around you don't even see Neptune.

You:"Hey Weiss." You can see that she seems a little bummed about something

Ruby:"Did you bring a date?" Ruby says looking around

Weiss: sighs "No, no I did not, but that doesn't mean I still can't have fun right?"

Raiden:"Yeah, though...I thought you wanted to bring Neptune?"

Weiss:"I did but...he declined my offer. Anyways I have too much to focus on to worry about boys." You thought about this...you could've sworn that Neptune had a thing for Weiss...you feel like there's more to this story but you don't want to ruin the mood

Sun:"Well, that's weird, usually Neptune loves being at stuff like this but I don't see him anywhere."

You:"Ah...well that sucks, but hey at least you did an amazing job with this dance, I mean just look at this." You look around to admire the beauty of the ball room, everything was perfect, from the balloons, to the streamers, to the lighting and just about everything else.

Weiss:"Thank you for that (F), but I think it would've been much better with doilies but SOMEONE had to say no." You and Ruby laugh lightly and five of you look at Yang and Blake to see that the fast song has ended and they have stopped dancing and they bow to each other.

Ruby:"So, what do we do now?"Raiden pats your shoulder and him and Sun start to walk over to them.

Raiden:"Just have fun!" He says and everyone disperses, leaving you and Ruby alone... You look at Sun and Blake hold each others hand, they begin to dance and you see Blake laughing...it warms your heart to see them laughing

Ruby:"Does that mean I can change out of these clothes and into my hood now?" Nobody responds... "Stupid lady stilts" she says as she looks down at her high heels and you laugh lightly "Not that I don't want to be here with you (F) it's just I want to be comfortable at least..." 

You:"You're good, Ruby."

You look at Yang and Raiden...the music has changed into a slow romantic song and the lights in the ballroom have lowered...you look to see that Raiden has placed his right hand on Yang's hip and the left hand is gently grasping Yang's arm. Yang smiles affectionately at him as she places her left hand on Raiden's shoulder...and they begin to dance slowly with the rhythm...You look at Ruby who you notice is now just staring at you with silver eyes that melts your heart.

You:"Shall we?" You extend your hand out, slightly bowing. Ruby slightly blushes as she takes your hand and you move onto the dance floor. You breath out a little shakily "I've uh..never done this before."

Ruby:"Heh, well if it makes you feel any better, neither have I..." She places her left hand on your right shoulder and you grasp her hand gently and you look at her to see that she's looking down. 

You're in position, now all that's left is for you to lead her...A bit awkward at first you sway left to right and Ruby looks up at you eye to eye and smiles at you and you smile back, you can feel the nervousness fade a little. You begin to step with your right foot follow by your left foot slowly going along with the beat and though Ruby seemed a bit awkward with the stepping she eventually calms and you feel her become less tense as you continue to stare into Ruby's eyes. All of a sudden you're reminded of the night at the dorm where you first told her that you loved her...

You:"Heh, remember the night that I told you I loved you?" 

Ruby:"How could I forget, you just kept having nightmares night after night...and I always would have to get up from my bed to go to yours." 

You:"Yeah...that one night you asked me of what I said to you during that first encounter."

Ruby:"And then you told me..." You smile as you continue dancing, you don't even feel nervous anymore... Ruby then starts laughing a little as she thinks of something.

Ruby:"Remember the first day of school right before you met me?"

You:"What, when you exploded in front of the school?" you say while laughing.

Ruby:"It was an accident!" She says while laughing and she puts her head on your chest due to her laughing and she looks back up at you. "Why do I love you so much? And why do you love me? I'm not exactly the most stable of girls as you should know by now." You laugh

You:"I don't know where to start honestly, your bravery, your kindness, your hyper-active nature, your...everything really. I love you because of who you are, you're not scared of what other people think about you."

Ruby:"Ha, you'd be surprised. I feel the exact same for you, you're just...I can't even describe the reasons why I love you, I just..." she simply begins tearing up before she wipes off the tears from her eyes "God, I'm such a girl." you chuckle as your bring your hands up to her cheeks and she places her hand over yours as she blushes slightly

You:"It's fine, I can't describe my love for you either" Ruby begins to close her eyes as she leans in and you close your eyes as you lean. You feel her soft lips against yours and you feel something spark inside you...it's not like the other times where you have kissed her...this one felt truly special. You and Ruby have actually stopped dancing as you continue to hold your kiss. You and Ruby both break away from the kiss slowly as you continue to look into each other's eyes. Ruby moves her hands to your shoulders and you move your hands down to her waist as you begin to dance again.

You and Ruby danced for three slow songs as you continue to talk, laugh, and kiss her...this is truly a perfect night you say. You notice the transition back into a fast song and you notice that both you and Ruby seem a bit exhausted so you bow slightly and she does the same

You:"Let's do this again soon."

Ruby:"Definitely." Ruby puts her arm around yours and places her head on your shoulder and you walk over to the punch bowl. You see Jaune at the punch bowl, you wave with your free hand as Jaune waves back.

You:"Hey Jaune, you being socially awkward by the punch bowl?"

Jaune:"Well duh." You grab a glass of punch and give it to Ruby along with one for yourself.

Ruby:"I'm really sorry things didn't work out with Weiss." You're a bit annoyed that Jaune is still obsessing over Weiss...

Jaune:"Meh, it's fine, Neptune's pretty cool." You look at Jaune confused

Ruby:"What do you mean?"

Jaune:"Well come on. Not many people can pull off blue hair." (Huh, I'd say something here about what'd you think you'd look like with blue hair but I realized that some of you guys have your character already having blue hair...so continue on I guess)

Ruby:"No, I mean Weiss came alone." Jaune coughs and chokes on his drink and looks at you both surprised

Jaune:"Uh!? What!?" Jaune looks at Weiss who is fixing a flower pot at a nearby table.

You:"Yeah, she asked Neptune but apparently he declined..."

 Ruby:"Yeah, she then said she had too much to focus on to worry about boys." You hear the sound of Blake and Sun laughing and you look over to see Neptune... he is mimicking something or someone and laughing as well. You look back at Jaune to see that he's...annoyed.

Jaune:"Hold my punch." he hands his pnch over to Ruby...she examines it then sips out of it before smiling at you. You shake your head while smiling at her and you look over to Jaune who is moving over Neptune...before being stopped by Pyrrha who is walking by.

You:"Come on Jaune...don't let her be alone." You say aloud while Ruby is still drinking Jaune's punch.

Ruby:"Let who be alone? Pyrrha?" You nod

You:"Yeah I heard from Nora that she didn't bring a date either..."

Ruby:"Well that's a bummer, you think that Jaune would've asked Pyrrha."

You:"THANK YOU. Why does everyone see EXCEPT Jaune." 

Ruby:"Eh...love is...blind I suppose?" You shrug

You:"I guess that's true in some cases...BUT IT'S WHEN THE PERSON IS OBLIVIOUS TO WHAT IS RIGHT IN FRONT OF THEM IS WHAT PISSES ME OFF!" Ruby points at your eye...you notice that your eye is coursing with blue flames "Sorry, I just got angered there." In that moment you can see Jaune going up the same stairway where Pyrrha went up to...you wish with all of your heart that Jaune realizes what he's missing

Ruby:"Seems like you really care about them a lot."

You:"I care about everyone, I want everyone to be able to live a better life...pssh, even Cardin."

Ruby:"And that's another reason as to why I love you." You smile as she kisses you on the cheek. You hear a whistle from above you and you look up to the second floor to see Raiden and Yang waving at you and motioning you to come up. You look at Ruby and you both shrug as you walk up the stairs. You approach Raiden and Yang whose arms are interlocked as they are leaning over the railings.

Yang:"Y'know, I think we really needed this." She says as she leans her head on Raiden's shoulder. You smile as Ruby does the same to you and you look down to see Blake and Sun dancing and look next to them to see Ren and Nora dancing...just not as well. You smile either way and you look over to...Penny? You haven't seen Penny in quite some time, you notice she's alone as two guards are protecting her as she does the...robot...huh.

You(whispering to Ruby):"When did Penny get back?"

Ruby(whispering to you):"It's a long story." You snicker looking at Penny's cute little solo dance

You(Whispering):"And why is she doing the robot?"

Ruby(Yelling):"NO REASON!" She says panicking, which surprises you and then she realizes that she yelled. "S-sorry."

You:"No...problem?"

Raiden:"This dance is quite amazing." Raiden says looking down at everyone

Ruby:"And you did a really great job planning it too, Yang." Yang gives Ruby a one-armed hug as Ruby is now choking due to her sister's strength despite using one arm...one arm...you feel a shudder down your spine...why is that you wonder? (You know exactly why...though not story you, YOU you)

Yang:"Aww, thanks. It wasn't all me though. Weiss did a lot too." You look down to see Weiss sitting down and...Neptune approaching her looking at her nervously as he scratches the back of his head. and Weiss offers the seat next to her so he can sit down, which he does..YOU SHIP IT

Yang: sighs "Tomorrow it's back to work." 

Ruby:"Well, I'm sure we can handle whatever gets thrown at us." You put your arm around her and smile

You:"As long as we're a team nothing can trump us." You hear laughter coming from below and...you see...Jaune...in. a. dress.

You/Ruby:"Except for that." The entire floor stops and stares at him as he goes up to Pyrrha

Pyrrha:"Jaune?"

Jaune:"Eh, a promise is a promise." He says while bringing his arms up. Pyrrha begins to laugh.

Pyrrha:"Jaune, you didn't have to." She says while continuing to laugh.

Jaune:"Hey. An Arc never goes back on his word. Now do you want to stand there and laugh at me." he offers his hand to Pyrrha "Or do you want to dance." You...must be dreaming...did you hear that right. JAUNE ACTUALLY ASKED HER!?

Pyrrha:"I...would love to dance." You clap loudly and wipe away tears of happiness. He actually did it.

You:"TOOK LONG ENOUGH!" luckily no one from the lower level heard that and you hear Nora yell

Nora:"This. is. HAPPENING!" The song changes into a very techno song and...all of Team JNPR start doing a VERY synchronized dance along with it.

You, Ruby, Yang, and Raiden all stand there in shock as you watch them move flawlessly together...HOW MUCH TIME DID THEY HAVE TO ORGANIZE THIS NUMBER!?!? You look at Ruby as they stop their synchronized dancing and begin to dance separated. You look at Ruby and she looks at you...you've never danced to a fast dance before but that glorious number has got you pumped up. You offer your hand to Ruby and she takes it and nods at you. You look at Yang and Raiden to see that they're already making their way onto the dance floor, you take a deep breath and with Ruby's hand in yours, you walk into the dance floor.

You surprisingly didn't do half bad, with all that strength from fighting Grimm you actually use some of the moves you use from dodging Grimm into dancing...which works surprisingly well. The night is filled with you and Ruby's laughter and you can feel your love for her grow. After you and Ruby are very tired due to the fact you both danced to 8 fast songs in a row. You and Ruby go outside for air, you smile at the shattered moon until you realize...a women in black clothing is running across the rooftops of the buildings across from the ballroom. You and Ruby glance at each other before nodding at walking over. It doesn't take long to see the building where the mysterious women went in and you and Ruby both see an unconscious or at least you HOPE it's an unconscious guard. Ruby takes out her scroll and immediately after pressing a button her locker comes flying in, crashing into the ground and opening to reveal her Crescent Rose. You Conjure your Marasuma and switch it into it's HF-Engine Blade mode and you both enter the building, your weapons at the ready. Only to see that every guard has been knocked out.

You:"This can't be good...maybe we should call the rest of the team."

Ruby:"There's no time, by the time they get here that woman will be gone."

You:"Good point, let's go, quickly." You and Ruby both run to the elevator and press the button on the elevator to make it go to the top floor...you look down at the floor to see two knocked out guards. which you drag out of the elevator gently. The floor makes it to the top and both you and Ruby are on your guards.

Ruby:"Hello?" Ruby says as she walks and stumbles a little due to her high heels, she looks annoyed at her 'Stupid lady stilts'. You burst your eye into flames in anticipation... "Is anyone there?

You:"...Hello?" The woman from earlier gets out from her hiding spot and approaching you both..."Excuse me. You know, this isn't a masquerade party...so why don't you take off that-" the Woman grabs a dust vial from her belt and releases some of it into the air and the dust turn into razor sharp glass shards and she flings them at you with her...semblance? You feel something very off about her power. Ruby spins her Crescent Rose blocking the incoming shards but one misses her and hits you in the shoulder...Something's off, it did hit you but you didn't feel any pain from it 

Ruby:"(F)!" Ruby looks back at you worried and you take it out and warp behind the women and slice at where her neck is, but she ducks under and extends her leg and it hits you in your chest and you slide backwards before Ruby fires her Crescent Rose at her. The women blocks the bullets with her hand before spinning backwards as dust and fire fills her hands and two weapons are conjured out of fire...your head begins to hurt after she did that. You and Ruby both dash at her as Ruby slams her Crescent Rose into the ground where the woman was on but she jumped up into the air. You jump up to her and feel flames going around your arm again and the woman simply smiles as she sees this. Right before you could land your Flare Smash. you feel...something come over you, and all of a sudden you feel a immense amount of pain in your eye and you notice that the flames around your arm and eye...are gone and that BOTH of your eyes are bleeding now. She smiles at you before spin kicking you and creating a bow out of thin air and firing three explosive arrows at Ruby, you slide back next to Ruby and wipe the blood away from your eyes. The woman doesn't seem to be even breaking a sweat...and it seems like she is doing SOMETHING to your power...but what? This is bad you say to yourself, until you hear the sound of the elevator door opening. You and Ruby both look behind you and see that Ironwood is there. You feel better about your chances now, but...as you look back...the woman is gone.

You eye bursts into flames without your control but...you notice something...off about the way your eye feels while using it...you ignore it for now and the flames go away and you let go of your Marasuma and Blue Particles go around it...but right before the particles vanish...you just barely see them go into a shade of purple... you just think it's your mind playing tricks. But before you can indulge on it for too long, Ruby puts away her Crescent Rose, a little worried. 

Ruby:"Are you alright?" 

You:"I'm fine...are you?" she nods and hugs you...you don't know why, but you return the hug and look out of the windows and look at the Shattered Moon of Remnant as Ironwood approaches you both..."Yeah" you say to yourself "This was an almost perfect night..."
