(Volume 2) Part 10: Untold Truths.

Raiden's POV

There's been a lot going on in my head lately and...honestly I don't know how much longer will I be able to hide the truth from (F). I almost didn't realize that (F)'s power is becoming much more in tune with that of Leviathan. Though primarily the power being fire, our power goes much beyond that. I saw that today with (F)'s new attack. He didn't notice it at the time but the area which he shot at was filled with incredible heat...but more importantly it was filled with sparks of lightning...Though he messed up his fingers good as he is not strong enough to deal with the back lashes of the Chronicle's raw power. What (F) doesn't know is that since he is Chronicle, he has a direct link to the Ancient King himself. Which is why he can become so powerful and why his attacks are much more diverse. He has both the Ancient King's power and the Leviathan's power. Though not much was known about the Ancient King before receiving the power of Leviathan it is said that he had the semblance known simply as Soul. Soul is a very useful and diverse collection of powers using the culmination of the Soul. That and added to the Leviathan whose power is within our souls, it's works beautifully with one another. One second we could be have blazing hot fire and the other we could be blasting Grimm away just with the shock wave of flicking our fingers...Which is why whenever (F) and I use over exert our power then we feel much pain from it, and why whenever something causes our souls to be passionate our power grows, and...if...something happens to...cause us to be hurt inside then we lose some of our power...and since being Chronicle adds overwhelming power, he uses much of his Soul's energy to create his devastating attacks...essentially meaning until he can fully control and be one with Leviathan AND learn to harness the Ancient King's power he is essentially a glass cannon...which brings us to the current situation. (F) just collapsed.

Yang/Weiss/Raiden:"(F)!?" He's not responding...I'm worried about him...not just about the truth but I've got to tell him that if he over does it TOO much...then he could very well die. I pick up (F) and look at the building where Doctor Oobleck told us to make camp in.

Raiden:"Come on, lets get him indoors. Seems like he used too much of his power." They all nod and we inside, carefully as to make sure that there are no Grimm in the building. As the others set up the camp I carefully set down (F) against a wall and Conjure my sleeping bag and set up the sleeping bag and pillow and I pick up (F) once again. Yang looks at me and looks down at (F) who is still in my arms.

Yang:"So...why is it whenever you two use your Semblance too much, you are either in pain or you pass out?" I sigh while carefully laying down (F) on my sleeping bag.

Raiden:"...I'd tell you sweetie, but if I was going to do that I'd need everyone here...and to be listening." I say while placing my hand on (F)'s head. "Because believe me the way we got our Semblance is very..unique."

Yang:"Hah well, I remember when I found out about my semblance...I stubbed my toe one day." I laugh lightly and I get up. "...Well I guess we'll find out someday."I walk over and put my hands on Yang's shoulders

Raiden:"I'll tell you once we have the chance to, m'kay?" Yang nods and I kiss her on the forehead and walk over back to (F) and sit down next to him... and watch the fire that the others just started burn...'You can't keep this a secret forever' I say to myself

Yang:"I can't believe we didn't find anything."

Blake:"We've always been fortunate enough to be in the right place at the right time. I guess we can't always have luck on our side."

Weiss:"That's not what I meant." Weiss said seemingly out of the blue...I'm confused here

Blake:"Huh?"

Weiss:"Earlier, about, upholding the legacy. There's more to it then that." I look down...I didn't even talk to Oobleck...there's a reason as to WHY I became a Hunter but...I can't say it with (F) around...let alone all of Team RWBY.

Yang:"Yeah, no me too. I mean...I don't know." Blake gets up from crouching infront of the fire.

Blake:"I don't know either. I know what I want to do but, I figured I'd always take things one step at a time."

Yang:"Well, it doesn't matter, we know why we're here...right Raiden?" Now I feel guilty...there's a lot of things I'm keeping hidden from my girlfriend, my brother, and my team...But if they knew than, I'd ruin everything...Everything is rather silent, other than the crackling from the fire...

Oobleck:"Ah wonderful!" Oobleck yells from the entrance. he zooms over "A textbook campfire." Ruby walks in...not noticing that her own boyfriend is out cold with blood coming out of his eyes.

Ruby: gasps "Fire!" Ruby runs over to the fire and falls to her knees close to the fire "Sssssoooo....wwwaaarrrmmm." Zwei runs past the fire and sits infront of (F)..just panting and barking at him. "(F)!?" Ruby pushes me out of the way unexpectedly, as she hovers over (F). "What happened!?"

Raiden:"He'll be fine, he just collapsed due to exhaustion and over use of his Semblance." Ruby breaths out a sigh of relief.

Ruby:"Jeez...why do you have to make me worry like that (F)..." Ruby glides her fingers through (F)'s hair.

Oobleck:"Well, as long as he wakes up and is able to preform tomorrow then I think he'll be fine. Now then, eat your dinners and hurry to bed. We have a lot of ground to cover tomorrow and we'll need you to take turns keeping watch over our temporary abode, any volunteers for first watch." Ruby raises her hand while still looking at (F) a bid worried

Ruby:"Yo." Ruby gets up while still glancing at (F)...God that girl must love my brother a lot...well it's reassuring to see others love him as much as I do... As Ruby begins to head out to take watch, Yang turns to her

Yang:"Hey, did Oobleck ask why you wanted to be a huntress? I mean, what did you tell him?"

Ruby:"Huh, no he didn't...weird. Oh well, goodnight guys." she walks out of the room...I sit down in between Yang and (F)'s sleeping bags as everyone lays down...I...gave my bag to (F) since as he is unconscious he can't Conjure HIS bag...oh well, Yang turns to me and gives me a kiss on the cheek and I give her one back and I begin to close my eyes...

Your POV 2 Hours Later

You wake up in a cold sweat as you...are indoors...with everyone in sleeping bag except Raiden...you don't see Ruby anywhere. You feel your eye and destroyed finger is still in pain, but you still feel better...you don't even know why you passed out, you felt perfectly fine.

You:"Ugh...my head...and finger ow..." You get up and notice that the sleeping bag you were on was Raiden's...you could tell because it's the one he used during the time you were homeless. You Conjure your own sleeping bag and you pick Raiden up by the collar...just barely as he is heavy. "God, you need to lose some weight." you say strained as you put Raiden in his sleeping bag. You look around to see Ruby is...keeping watch? You don't see Oobleck anywhere so you imagine that he's sleeping somewhere else. Ruby is aiming her Crescent at something but then sighs with a bored tone as she lowers it. You walk over to her and tap her on the shoulder. She looks back and immediately jumps up and hugs you.

Ruby:"You're awake!" You hug her back...then you wonder something

You:"How long was I out?"

Ruby:"A few hours..." She then hits you in the arm...it surprisingly hurts a lot "WHY DO YOU MAKE ME WORRY ALL THE TIME!"

You:"OW!" You look around to see if anyone was woken up by that...seems like no one...though you don't really believe that anyone was truly asleep in the first place as Raiden nor Yang are snoring... "Alright, alright, I'm sorry I make you worry so much." Ruby then switches back into sweet mode as she hugs you yet again...you are getting mixed feelings here.

Ruby:"Well...you should go to bed, you still seem...fragile."

You:"Pssh, nah, I'll stay awake with you, so you know...don't do anything stupid." She smiles at you as you both sit down...you then realize something "Here I'll be right back, gotta grab my bag.

Ruby:"I thought you said you were staying awake?"

You:"Oh, I am, I just wanna be comfortable is all..." Ruby looks at you with a 'Really?' look on her face. "I'll be back."

You walk into to see that...Yang, Blake, and Weiss are all talking. They haven't noticed you yet, the conversation seems to have been going on for a bit...

Blake:"All my life, I fought for what I thought was right. I had a partner...named Adam." You feel your skin crawling at the mention of that name...though...how does she know Adam? You think back to your time in Menagerie...You remember Adam always being kind of quiet yet a leader around others...now that you think of it...there was always a shy cat girl- It suddenly clicked. "More of a mentor, actually. He always assured me that what we were doing would make the world a better place. But of course, his idea for a perfect future turned out to be...not perfect for everyone. I joined the academy because I knew Huntsmen and Huntresses were regarded as the most noble warriors in the world. Always fighting for good. But I never really thought past that"

You:"You were talking about...Adam Taurus, right?" Blake looks at you very surprised...now that you look around everyone is surprised to see you awake. Blake almost didn't register that by the looks of it. "Oh I'm sorry, did I hit a sensitive subject?"

Blake:"...You know Adam?" You chuckle

You:"I lived in Menagerie, remember? I was...a friend I guess, it's funny...he actually stopped a group of Faunus from hurting me because he believed that it was wrong to pick on a human simply because I was human..." You sigh while grabbing your sleeping bag. "How much has changed...well I'm sorry I interrupted..." You begin to walk out of the room...you look back at Blake to see that she's tearing up...you forgot that Blake was close to Adam... "I'm sorry..."

Blake:"It's not your fault...how am I going to undo so many years of hate because of our actions..."

Yang:"I'm sure you'll figure it out. You're not one to back down from a challenge, Blake."

Blake:"But I am! I do it all the time! When you learned I was a Faunus, I didn't know what to do, so I ran. When I realized my closest partner had became a monster, I ran! Even my...! Semblance. I was born with the ability to leave behind a shadow of myself. An empty copy that takes the hit while I run away." Everyone stays quiet for a while...

Yang:"At least you two have something that drives you...even you (F) when I overheard your reasons of becoming a hunter. I'm always kind of going with the flow, you know? And that's fine, I mean, that's who I am. But how long can I really do that for? I wanna be a huntress...not really because I wanna be a hero. But because I want the adventure. I want a life where I won't know what tomorrow will bring. And that'll be a good thing. Being a Huntress just happens to line up with that and also why I started dating Raiden. Love his mysteriousness and well just him in general, I don't want to turn this into a mushy, love conversation...anyways, yeah I'm not like Ruby, she's always wanted to be a Huntress. It's like she said, she dreamt about being the heroes in the books. Helping people and saving the day and never asking for anything in return. Even when she couldn't fight, she knew that's what she wanted to do. That's why she trained so hard to get where she is today." You look over to her to see that she's looking around the area...your love for her somehow grew even more after listening to that.

Weiss:"Well, she's still just a kid." Weiss says while sitting up.

Blake:"She's only two years younger, not to mention (F) is one year younger. We're all kids."

Yang:"Well, not anymore, I mean look at where we are! In the middle of a war zone and armed to the teeth?"

Blake:"It's the life we chose."

Weiss:"It's a job. We all have this romanticized vision of being a Huntress or Hunter in our heads. But, at the end of the day... it's a job to protect the people. And whatever we want, will have to come second." You smile, she knows what being a huntress means.

You:"Well...those were some true words of wisdom there, Weiss. Though, maybe you all should try to get some sleep, like Zwei. They all look over to Zwei who is sleeping soundly in Ruby's lap.They all sigh audibly...except Raiden who has been sleeping this entire time...

Yang:"Fine." They all lay back down and close their eyes...you finally walk back over to Ruby...she seems a bit tired but she turns to you, slightly annoyed due to you taking so long.

You:"Sorry I took so long, the rest of the team and I were talking about something."

Ruby:"You're good." You sit next to her and watch the Shattered Moon of Remnant in the night sky...you look down to see a couple of Grimm here and there, though only Beowolves, so nothing too bad.

After about 30 minutes of keeping watch...you feel...very tired...though you don't know why...odd. Ruby sees this and pats her lap. You are confused at first but she places her hand on your head and places your head on her lap as she glides her fingers through your hair. She smiles down at you before giving you a kiss on the forehead. You smile at her back and you notice that Zwei is on the ground and is now giving you the cutest death stare in existence for taking Ruby away from him and you pat your lap as Zwei barks lightly and hops on your lap. you pet him and...you can't keep your eyes open as you fall asleep.

Ruby's POV 10 Minutes Later

I'm still gliding my fingers through (F)'s hair as he sleeping soundly as the back of his head is laying on my lap. I can't help but think of how cute he is while he's sleeping...though I'm starting to get tired. I look over to where the others are and I see that Yang is walking over.

Yang:"Hey sis, let's switch out, you deserve some rest." She looks down at me, (F), and Zwei. "Awww, how cute!" I blush lightly.

Ruby:"I would but...I don't want to wake him up...he seems... I don't know, still exhausted from using his Semblance...I wish I knew what it was." Yang walks over and picks up (F) easily, cradling him like a little baby...surprisingly he doesn't wake up.

Yang:"Awww, look at him!"

Ruby:"I think you're embarrassing him."

Yang:"Nonsense! He's not even awake. Well go to sleep, I'll put his sleeping bag next to yours so you two can be cute together."

Ruby:"You know what...I don't care anymore." I say while walking over to my sleeping bag and slumping over with Zwei immediately resting by me...seems like he's a bit jealous of (F), heh, fun. Yang walks over and places (F) down carefully and she walks back over to where I was and sits down to begin her watch...I don't think I'll be able to sleep- I immediately pass out.

An hour later (Ruby's POV)

I wake up due to Zwei starting to bark at something...which sucks because I was having a very nice dream about dancing cookies...and (F)...and other things...IT WAS A GOOD DREAM!

Ruby(Whispering):"Zwei, it's late...go back to bed." I say while sticking my face on the pillow..Zwei continues barking and runs out of the room? "Zwei!" I say trying to reach for him, I get up and look around to make sure no one sees us..."Ugh!" I say as I grab my Crescent Rose and follow after him being careful not to wake the others. I go to the entrance of the building that we're in and peek out of the door. "Zwei? Zwei, where are you? Zwei!" I look around and...see that he's just peeing. "Huh?" I walk out into the street towards him "Zwei, this is a wasteland. You literally could've done that anywhere." Zwei barks lightly as he paws at me, and I pick him up.

???:"What was that?" I crouch with Zwei in my arms and look around worried...I back up to a nearby wall and hide behind it with Zwei in my arms still

???:"What was what?" I peak my head out to see...two White Fang members...

WF Member 1:"I thought I heard a Beowolf or...something."

WF Member 2:"Let's just finish our patrol and get back to base."

WF Member 1:"This place gives me the creeps." I look around and then back at the White Fang members as they walk away and I let go of Zwei and sneak around behind them as they continue to walk...I am a ninja as I rush from place to place from behind them. They turn a corner and I walk towards...wait, they are infront of a door with guards. I lose my balance and quickly rush backwards...I am the best ninja. I grab Zwei and make him poke his head out.

Ruby:"Did they go in yet? One bark means 'yes'." After waiting a bit and hearing a door open, Zwei barks once. I put him down "Oh, this is it! This is it!" We're close to stopping this!! YAY! I grab my scroll and call the rest of the team...gah it shows a low signal notification...can't get to them. "Oh man! Uh..." I grab my Crescent Rose off the ground and look at Zwei :"Come on, we gotta get the others!" I start to walk back when...the ground beneath begins to crack...uh-oh. "Huh!?" The ground sinks in and breaks and my Crescent Rose flies out of my hand as I fall and grab the ledge of the hole that was just created as I grab Zwei who also flew in. I throw Zwei up and he gets up and barks at me and I try to climb up...but the ground cracks even more and the ground I was hold breaks off...and...I fall in.

(Welp! Hope ya'll enjoyed...ya'll...guess I released some of my inner sassy black woman there. Hmm...anyways...I feel like that's gonna offend someone, somehow but, meh, well next part is gonna be very long as I'm going have to change a couple of small events and add one big event so forgive me if I take longer than usual, have a nice dawn, day, afternoon, evening, night, or dusk! )
