(Sorry I wasn't able to upload this sooner but I was busy vomiting and dealing with...pure lava coming out of my anus...t'was not a fun day ._., aaaaaaaaannnnnyyyyywwwwwwaaaaayyyyysssss...I'm feeling better now so...y-yeah don't know where to go from there um...enjoy? Or not...)

(Volume 1) Part 13:What it means to have a team...

It's been a week since you confessed your love for Ruby and she surprisingly feels the same for you...though you and Ruby haven't actually done anything about it just yet. You do feel like it gets a bit awkward from time to time, mostly because neither of you know what you're doing. Though you want to ask her out when you do get the chance, you and her have just been busy with school. And with the Field Trip to Forever Fall tomorrow you feel like maybe that will be the place to ask Ruby out.

Well, you're sitting up in your bed in the night, Yang and Raiden are out training late at night...which you hope in your head that it IS in fact training and not...other things,Weiss is studying in her bed and Blake is reading a book that talked about a Man with two Souls, and you are looking out of the window seeing the Shattered Moon of Remnant...and though you love the mysteriousness of the moon you wonder how exactly did the moon shatter. Was it some cosmological event were a giant meteor heading for Remnant hit the Moon instead? Was it some ancient God angered about the Moon's warm glow and decided to try to destroy it? Well whatever it was, it intrigued you...You look to the door where you hear faint voices. They sound like Ruby's and Jaune's. You walk up to the door and slightly open it to hear Jaune speak mid sentence

Jaune:"-and now Cardin's got me on a leash and Pyrrha won't even talk to me...I'm starting to think that coming to this school was a bad idea...I'm a failure..." you can hear him sulking to the floor... You hear Weiss right behind you

Weiss:"What are you doing?" You jump a little and look at her

You:"N-nothing..."

Weiss:"Oh really?"

You:"Yes...really."

Weiss:"...Doesn't seem like you're doing 'nothing' (F)"

You:"...Just go to sleep Weiss..."

Weiss:"No I want to know what you're doing sneaking around and hiding behind the door..."

You:"Just listenin' to something..." After a while of Weiss glaring at you she finally speaks

Weiss:"...I'm onto you...there isn't something right with you, and I'm going to find out what it is..."

You:"...Alright Ice Queen?" You stick your tongue out at her as she frowns and heads back to her bed as you look at her, you wonder what she thinks is wrong with you...maybe one day you'll get an answer but for now you go back to listening to Jaune and Ruby's conversation

Ruby:"Nope." You feel like Ruby isn't exactly the greatest at this type of stuff...

Jaune:"Nope?"

Ruby:"Nope. You're a leader now Jaune. You're not allowed to be a failure"

Jaune:"But what if I'm a failure at being a leader?"

Ruby:"Hmm....Nope." You face palm and think maybe you should talk to Jaune...

Jaune: laughs a little "You know, you're not the easiest person to talk to about this kind of stuff."

Ruby:"Nope!" You chuckle quietly "Jaune, maybe you were a failure when you were a kid-" You hear Jaune sigh as you hear him sulk down further "And maybe you might've been a failure the first day we met," You hear Jaune sigh louder and sulk even more...you wonder to yourself as to where she's going with this"But you can't be one now. You know why?"

Jaune:"Uhhhhhh,because-?" Jaune gets interrupted by Ruby

Ruby:"It's because it's not just about you anymore. You've got a team now, Jaune. We both do. And if we fail, then we'll just be bringing them down with us. We have to put our teammates first." You hear Ruby get up and start to walk to the door. "...and ourselves second. Your team deserves a great leader, Jaune. And I think that can be you." She opens the door which you weren't expecting but you see she's still looking at Jaune so you take this time to warp up to your bed and pretend that you're sleeping, still listening in on their conversation.

Ruby:"Have a good night, Jaune." she enters the room and closes the door. You pretend to have woken up a little as Ruby looks at you.

Ruby:"Sorry, did I wake you up?" she says quietly as both Blake and Weiss have gone to sleep now.

You:"Nah" you fake yawn...which you're horrible at. "Just lost in thought I suppose...I thought I heard you talking to Jaune out there...was that real or was it me being delusional..." she smiles and laughs a little as she hops up in your bed and goes under the covers.

Ruby:"Nope. That was real, you aren't crazy...well THAT crazy." 

You:"Well that may change after being with you 5." Ruby laughs a little at that which makes you smile.

Ruby:"Well." she lays on her side facing you and places her blindfold on and holds your hand and after a bit of difficulty, kisses your head which makes you blush a little. "Good night (F)."

You:"Good night Ruby." 

 The next Morning

You look around at the beautiful forest of Forever Fall, you can see all of your team staring at its beauty, Ruby seems to be particularly excited about this place...maybe because her favorite color is Red you wonder.

You:"You doing alright, Ruby?"

Ruby:"I LOVE THIS PLACE!" You laugh and playfully grab her hood and place it over her.

You:"Yeah it's red and beautiful...just like you." You laugh...then you realize what you said and immediately turn as red as the trees of Forever Fall, Ruby takes off her hood and is also red...which is quite weird with her hood, the trees, and her...combat skirt as she likes to call it is all the same level of red...awkwardness is great. Glynda is leading this exhibition and finally speaks to you all 

Glynda:"Yes students, the Forest of Forever Fall is indeed beautiful. But we are not here to sight-see. Professor Peaches asked all of you to collect samples from the trees deep in this forest. And I'm here to make sure none of you die while doing so. You whisper into Ruby's ear.

You(whispering):"As if we couldn't take care of ourselves." Glynda hears this and glares back at you as she turns around and everyone stops walking. You gulp

Glynda:"If you're so confident in your abilities Mr.(L) then why don't you lead this exhibition. I'm sure you are quite familiar with the terrain of this Forest and surely won't get lost and starve to death or eaten by the creatures of Grimm...which ever comes first I suppose."

You(stammering):"I- uh I, but I, no, well, ye-no- I..." You hear everyone snicker at you and you feel embarrassed...

Glynda:"That's what I thought...Now then, Each of you is to gather one jar's worth of red sap. However, like I told (F), the forest is full of the creatures of Grimm, so be sure to stay by your teammates. We will rendezvous back here at four o'clock. Have fun." 

You feel stupid for acting cocky earlier. You hear Cardin faintly and look back to see Jaune carrying what looks to be an entire team's equipment...and Cardin grabbing his arm...you start to walk over but Ruby starts pulling you the opposite way where Raiden and the others are going. After a bit of hesitation you decide to go with Ruby

You(In mind):"Come on Jaune...you're better than just being some pack mule..." After some walking you meet up with...well what's left of Team JNPR and the rest of Team RWBY. There are plenty of trees around where you can start collecting Tree sap so you sit next to Ruby while she's filling up her's...though the process takes a while so you lay down and look at the sky for a bit

You look at both teams RWBY and JNPR and see that Raiden accidentally spilled sap all over himself and see Yang laughing as she tries to clean it off with a napkin....which was not working but you can see Raiden still appreciates the effort, You look at Weiss who seems to be having a bit of trouble and...repeatedly stabbing the tree...

You:"Um...Weiss?"

Weiss:"YES (F)!?" she seems pissed

You:"I don't think stabbing the tree is gonna help it make more sap..."

Weiss:"I DON'T CARE!" she goes back to stabbing the tree

You:"Just be patient...like Blake." You look to Blake as she's reading a book as her jar is slowly collecting the sap from the base of the tree. Blake looks up and nods before going back to reading.

You look at Pyrrha and see...she's already done collecting her Sap...You look to Ren and Nora to see Nora with a full jar of sap and she gives Ren another jar. as Ren turns around to get the sap, you see Nora chug the whole thing...very quickly too...as Ren turns around and sees this he looks a bit angered as Nora's face is covered with Tree sap...you think to yourself that they would make such a good couple...You pluck at the grass as you look at Ruby and see she's almost done with hers.

You:"Hey, Raiden?"

Raiden:"Yeah?" he says while Yang is STILL trying to wipe off the Sap that's all over him.

You:"Is...that gonna be able to be washed off...that sap looks like something that can stain most things pretty easily."

Raiden:"I think I'm good..." Though his "fighting outfit" was a black jacket with a white shirt and black sweats...which you now think is basically your outfit except yours was a blue jacket instead of a black one, you don't think that's going to wash off easily...well with your semblances you're sure he'll be able to find someway of getting it off...as you were distracted by this you all of a sudden hear the sound of glass crashing above you. You at first thought someone in the group could've just dropped a jar but as you look around, no one seemed to have smashed anything...

You:"Hmm...hey guys I'ma look around a bit and...admire the view."

Ruby:"Gah! But I'm almost done!" she accidentally tips over her Jar and it spills...You see her tear up "NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!" She sulks as she picks up "Nevermind..." you laugh a little and start walking off

Blake:"Be sure that you don't die out there. Grimm are crawling around out here" 

You:"Awww you do care about us."

Blake:"Never said that I didn't."

You:"True...True..." You look to Weiss who...is still stabbing the tree

Weiss:"Pssh, I don't think Grimm would enjoy eating him, he's too dull and plain for any Grimm to enjoy."she says a bit playfully

You:"Pssh, they wouldn't like a Salty and cold person like you either, Ice queen." you say playfully. She sticks her tongue out at you and you do the same before you walk off.

You go up to where the sound of the crash was and see shattered glass that seem to have belonged to a jar...but whose you wonder, you notice a Sap trail leading further into the forest and you start following it as you keep following the trail you hear a faint voice...it sounds like Cardin's... You decide to activate your semblance and warp up to the branches of the trees and start warping around until you hit an opening in the forest. You look down to see...Cardin above Jaune as Cardin's team is surrounding him. Cardin picks Jaune up and punch him in the side of his face. You clench your fists.

Cardin:"You know that wasn't very smart. Jaune-y boy." Cardin picks Jaune up by his jacket collar. "I'm gonna make sure they send you back to mommy in teeny, tiny, pieces..." You start to reach your hand out to Conjure your Marasuma but stop as Jaune speaks.

Jaune:"I don't care what you do to me. But you are not messing with my team..." You see Cardin get angrier

Cardin:"What, you think talk like that makes you tough? You think you're a big strong man now?" You see Jaune smile just a bit which makes Cardin more furious

Cardin:"Hrrahh!" he goes to hit Jaune again, you are just about to Conjure your Marasuma but see a blinding white light come from Jaune and you cover your eyes from the bright light as Cardin hits Jaune. All of a sudden Jaune is completely healed sitting on the ground as Cardin stumbles back holding the arm that was about to hit Jaune in pain.

You:"What the hell?" you say quietly...but one of team CRDL kicks Jaune down.

Cardin:"Lets see how much of a man you really are..." You hear a loud roar coming from the forest. You look to the source of where the roar came from and see a huge Alpha Ursa...you Conjure your Marasuma and are about to throw it at the Ursa to defend Jaune and the others but your arm is stopped by Raiden...who is also now in the tree with you, you let go of your Marasuma as it turns into blue particles and vanishes into the air.

You:"How did you find me?"

Raiden:"Felt like I needed to watch over you...so I did."

You:"Then why stop my attack on the Alpha?"

Raiden:"...Let's see how Jaune reacts to this..."

You think Raiden is insane and feel like Jaune is going to die and look back at where the Alpha Ursa. You see that it's sniffing around and focuses on the Sap on Cardin's chest...The Ursa back hands Cardin with its claws and starts walking at Cardin...leaving Jaune alone, It must be after the sap you think to yourself... You look to Cardin and see that the Ursa is directly over Cardin, Cardin brings out his weapon to defend himself, only for it to be knocked out of his hands by the Ursa's claws. 

You wonder to yourself in a bit of panic of where's Ruby and the rest of Team RWBY and if they're safe or not... You look back to the battle where Cardin is trying to flee from the Ursa, The Ursa leaps over him with incredible agility which you didn't even know Ursai's had...It turns and faces Cardin and hits him with a mighty blow that sends him flying, as Cardin hits the ground the Ursa is running at him and Cardin tries crawling away

Cardin:"Crap! Crap! Crap!" You look away from the battle to see Ruby along with Pyrrha and Weiss appear from the forest. You and Raiden nod to each other and warp down to them. They jump back a little not expecting you two and look back to the battle and see Cardin fall over and the Ursa run up to him.

Right before the Ursa was able to deliver a deadly blow Jaune runs in from out of nowhere it seems and blocks the blow from the Ursa. You conjure your Marasuma as Ruby and Weiss ready their Crescent Rose and Myrtenaster.

Pyrrha:"Wait!" Pyrrha yells as we stop and see Jaune slash at the Ursa knocking it back only for the Ursa to strike back at Jaune as he rolls to the side to evade from the attack. The Ursa gives him no room to breathe as it swings its arm across the ground with incredible speed trying to knock Jaune off his feet, but Jaune jumps up, evading the attack, the Ursa brings up the arm he was using and immediately rushes it forward to hit Jaune. 

He gets knocked down on the ground and roll up to his feet and jumps at the Ursa, only for the Ursa to evade and hit him in his back, knocking Jaune off balance as he hits the ground. He quickly gets up and is breathing heavily as he's looking at his Aura indicator...must be low you think with the devastating hits that Ursa must give. The Ursa runs up to Jaune and roars as Jaune yells ferociously and the Ursa runs up to him. Both of them go to strike at each other...you realize that Jaune's shield is too low and he won't be able to evade nor block the Ursa's attack...he won't survive. That is until you see Pyrrha outstretch her hand as a black energy surrounds her hand, you look back at Jaune to see his shield also has the same black energy around it. The shield suddenly moves upward to block the incoming attack from the Ursa. Jaune slams his foot on the ground and moves his blade upwards, the Ursa's head is cut clean off as the mighty Ursa's body falls to the ground with a loud thud.

You look to Pyrrha who looks as her hand as it stops emitting the black energy...You look to Ruby who seems confused about this as well

Ruby:"Um, what?"

Weiss:"How did you..."

Pyrrha:"Well, Ruby has her speed, You have your Glyphs, and (F) and Raiden have their eyes, My semblance is Polarity."

Ruby(Quietly):"Ah, you can control poles..." You and Raiden both look at Ruby confused...

Weiss:"No, you dunce! It means she has control over Magnetism."

Ruby(Quietly):"Magnets are cool, too..." You face palm. Pyrrha starts walking away

Weiss:"Wait, where are you going?"

Ruby:"Yeah, we gotta tell them what happened."

Pyrrha:"We could. Or, perhaps, we could keep it our little secret." She looks to Jaune as he sheathes his sword...as Pyrrha walks away you look back to Pyrrha, then back to Jaune, then back to Pyrrha, then back to Jaune, then back to Pyrrha, then back to Jaune...Raiden, Ruby, and Weiss are all looking at you confused...

You:"Yep I definitely can see those two as a couple...I ship it" They all face palm and Weiss and Ruby start walking back

Ruby:"Don't stay here too long, don't want another Alpha Ursa to appear..."

You:"Fine, fine."

You look back at Jaune and see him outstretch his hand to Cardin who is sitting down.

Cardin:"Holy crap. Jaune..."

Jaune:"Never mess with my team, my...friends, ever again." Cardin looks...guilty? "Got it?" Jaune walks away from Cardin and as he walks to you and Raiden, you both smile and give him a thumbs up.

Jaune:"...Were you here the whole time?" You and Raiden both nod.

Jaune:"Aaaannnnddd you didn't help...when I could've very easily died."

You:"Meh, you had it down, now we know you're strong enough to take an Alpha Ursa down all by yourself."

Jaune:"Heh, I guess so." As you walk back to the area where the class was supposed to rendezvous at you see Glynda and the rest of Team CRDL talking to her, must be getting some sort of punishment you guessed...You see the rest of both Teams RWBY and JNPR run up to Jaune, You, and Raiden.

Nora:"YOU HAD A FIGHT WITH AN ALPHA URSA WITHOUT ME!?"

Ren:"I'm glad you're still here to tell the tale."


As Nora and the rest of Team JNPR talk to Jaune. You...suddenly feel weak as everything goes dark...You look around to see in the distance...a destroyed Beacon tower having a bright white light coming from it...all you can think of is Ruby...you look in front of you to see Adam Taurus himself in front of you...along with several White Fang surrounding you...You can feel pain erupting from your eye...you've used it too much...You look behind you to see someone in the shadows...and his eye is emitting a Dark Purple flame...

Ruby taps you lightly on the shoulder as you snap back to reality...You look a little pale and breathing a bit more heavy than usual...

Ruby:"You alright, (F)?" she looks at you worried

You:"Yeah just...lost in thought I suppose." You put on a fake smile...but you are truly worried of what is to come of Beacon Academy...You try to convince yourself...that it's just bad thoughts...and that as long as you have your team for now...You don't have to worry as much...You start walking with the rest of Team RWBY and see all of Team RWBY laughing at a joke Raiden made...you smile a little, 'Yeah' you think 'I'll be fine...' . You feel a bit bummed out you weren't able to ask out Ruby but..again, unforeseen circumstances made it difficult...Maybe next time you think to yourself...maybe next time...
