Fighting against the adverse nature of a snow storm both the parties follow the trail into the uncharted paradise of Shamballa. The residents of Shamballa reveal themselves to be immortal guardians dedicating their lives to guard the secrets of the Kalachakra which is located at the heart of the utopia. The Kalachakra is the ultimate source of chi which the guardians use to remain ever youthful while they promise to guard it forever in exchange a never-ending loop aptly fitting its purpose. Filled with avarice Alessandra and her benefactor vying to seize the artifact which the residents forbid for it would unleash an apocalypse as foretold in the prophecies. When the detective duo confronts the benefactor, it is revealed to be Marcus Parker, Kurt's mentor who has orchestrated the entire machination. Faced with the startling discovery Kurt refuses to believe as he saw Marcus die in front of his eyes when Marcus reveals he did indeed die but with the help of Alessandra's ability of chi regeneration he was revived back to life. He wants to use the Wheel of Time to revive his beloved family lost in the plane crash and utilized Alessandra as a pawn to further his agenda. Kurt realizes that this was intentional so that Marcus could operate freely from behind the shadows and have been the one feeding information to Alessandra since the beginning. As Kurt wrestles with Marcus, Jessica tries to free Dr. Digvijay from the clutches of the mercenaries while Alessandra utilizes this opportunity to seize the Wheel of Time.
